Hearing "Colin, go lock the hubs in" made me really miss my dad. We used to go get firewood, and locking the hubs was one of the ways I could "help" when I was young.

I hear you buddy. My dad just gave me the Jeep we explored the whole Midwest in when I was 7 to around 10 years old. 1977 cj7. It’s going to be a restoration project and hopefully I’ll bring my own kids exploring in it one day.

If you get stuck in the middle of nowhere and have no tools to get you out you simply must be a clueless driver. Fact!
While it seems like the guy with the ranger is in competition with Jillian to see who can make the most calls (tied at 3?) I have to give them both credit for going out and doing things with their 4x4s and experiencing life. I respect them both!
Now it’s time for a winch lol
Also, not being afraid to either call for help or even call the same People for help, the ones who don't are usually the types that freeze to death...
Totally respect them, they just may find a lift kit and new tires a cheaper option than calling Matt 😁

I always like the way Matt has the same type of automatic Lock In Hub 4X4 wheels my Dad has...
Frequent customers should receive a punch card. After their 100th recovery, they should receive a yellow rope.
While I'm all for Matt having the most success possible, that customer could instead invest in some excellent recovery gear, multiple winches and vehicle upgrades for much less money 😁
@@berryreading4809 A small lift and tires that were meant to leave the pavement would help a ton too....
This, or make an app with a customer ID. So, customers can share better info on location whenever they get stuck.
Or a shirt that says “ I got towed 100 times and all I got was this lousy shirt” lol
@@Burnit53 That's all it needs, a 2 inch lift with decent adjustable shocks and some new rubber would totally change that truck.

Yeah by the time I rolled my ‘02 ranger in ‘07 it was on its third clutch replaced under warranty (no, not driver error), there were brake line issues and it was also rusting badly...all in all not a great truck but certainly not a bad one!

That guy probably has gone places that you'd be amazed he got to, seemed like he knew a thing about recovery. Just when his recovery equipment fails or he doesn't have a tree near him do you see him on this channel. Take whatever you got wherever it will get you, just have a plan b and c for when things fail.

I kind of envy the guy for having access to that much open land and the spirit to explore it, wish I'd grown up and old there.

I love Matt's videos, but when I saw him hook to the vans SWAY BAR to pull him out I thought this could get ugly, but Matt is a pro and a couple of gentle pulls got him out. My old Pontiac Catalina had no sway bar because it was ripped out while being pulled from a snow bank. Keep up the award worthy videos. You guys are great.

Great episode, though all the episodes are enjoyable. Trevor is so charming, I love the names for everyone in the Banana. Shimmer is perfect for Matt and so is Matt's apparent delight in being labeled Shimmer. Telling your the youngest son to go lock in the hubs was a great "Dad" thing, or "parent" thing. Very cute.

I woke up in the middle of the night about 4am EST and after getting some water I checked for a new video on the way back to bed. There was none and I was worried they were stuck in deep sand or snow outside cell phone range of Ed and his prospecting / rescue mule.
Trevor may be the best off road corvair assembly expert, but Randy is the fastest go cart racer and pro camera operator 😄👍
Such a good man and such a good dad. Its always a thought that crosses my mind with every video of yours I watch. You can just tell you are the real deal. Humble, confident, kind, but strong, and super chill. I probably would of been a decent kid if I had a dad... wouldn't of ended up in psych wards all strung out. Thank God for good ppl like you who brought me out of the pits of hell so I can try to be just a 1/4 of the father you are.

I ran those same tires on a suburban and it was amazing how well they performed. Overall winter performance was great and very unexpected. Another oscar worthy video
