- Hello guys and welcome to my channel. In this episode I will show you the next step on building the 2jz. One of the main factors on building a racing engine is setting proper clearances. In this video I will show you how to install the Supertech solid cam follower, how assemble and torque the components. this setup is capable of handling over 9500 rpm and over 1000hp. Very important if you are planning on 2 stepping or being on the limiter for extended periods of time like in drifting. Thank you Supertech and BrianCrower for supporting my build and allowing me to make these videos for you guys. If you missed a step not covered in this video. It is most likely in a previous episode or I would be more than happy to answer most of your questions in the comments section.
This setup is accompanied by Briancrower dual valve springs and titanium retainers, billet valve keepers and 272 stage 3 camshafts. Авто/Мото
I love you drifting with Ballerina music 😂 so classy!
Im so proud of you, sharp mind! 🙏🏻💪🏻
It’s nice someone is building a GE not many people build a GE we built a GE with BC 272/272, CP Pistons, Carrillo Rods, made 830whp on 28psi...
How'd you like the cp pistons? I've been considering a pretty similar build but one of my coworkers tells me they're loud af until they warm up
@@RotaryDaddy the cp’s has lose tolerances until the aluminum expands. I have a GE build right now. I grabbed GTE pistons and Manley Htuff rods. Gsc S1 vvti cams and springs Ti retainers.
On E85 I think?
Finally,been missing your content
This thing is going to be a beast, great job brother.
Your videos are so enjoyable! Great content
Awesome, Very Informative and Detailed.. Thanks for doing this video
As always, killing with the music!
I appreciate the beautiful bgm. Amazingly complementing the build
Great video Alberto, you are such a genius with engines. Love the ballet 🩰 touch on it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’m surprised these videos don’t have more views. Great job with showing how to put the 2JZ together.
Very talented guy its great to see how far you have come and how far you will go keep it up saludos desde Austin texas
Awesome video, keep it up Big Boost!
liked your music choices. spot on
Another great video 🔥
Nice progress Alberto! Dutch regards, Nico
I was waiting the whole video for a “dink”. The vvt selenoid was it lol
Hahhah
Awesome videos my friend.😊💯🏁🏁🏁
Great series on this engine!
Great videos bro!
Love your vids Alberto wish one day could work with you as i m a mechanic myself n I'm from South Africa
Gotta love the New 2JC and the egg sauce haha.Love you alberbo!
Another great video!
Keep up the great detail!!!
Love ur vidz man ...
Fastest thumbs up in the west.
Very good video
very informative video
If Adam didn't keep blowing up cars maybe Alberto would have time to work on his own xD
He got plenty of freetime. He also got every tool he need from Adams garage!
Great detailed vid bro, and love how you work clean and carefully.
Question about the timing dot and line, what's the difference between the dot and line? I know one is TDC, what's the other?
Finally Big Boost video
2jz🤘🏻🔥😎💪🏻
BIG BOOST 💪
Great and involved vid n how too. Super awesome n happy as you’ve got and build you’re own 2jz. Respect. Question though. The torque specks. I don’t know if you got from factory spec. But would the same from factory spec work with a built engine??
On everything using factory bolts yes. When using arp hardware is different
Oem shimless buckets are still lighter and cheaper, than shim-under conversion and piss easy to set up lash if you have access to valve stem grinding machine. Good 2jz content anyways. 👌
Shimless buckets are something worth looking into
Will you use ecu master pnp adapter, if not you can make a full video how to make your own harnesse ?:)
nice!
Thanks for making this after I upgraded my cams smh would have come in handy 3 days ago
this 2jz series is going to make me scream without the s
ALBERTO, would you ever do a turbo 2J-FSE build?
What do you think about cam degree? Just curious because I seen most just slap cams in and still make power.
The old tensioner bracket has press in plain bushes which has a Teflon liner for a low friction surface. The new one has only been greased, how long is the grease going to last before metal on metal?
i see you have an adjustable cam gear, are you going to degree the exhaust cam or is the adjustable cam gear just for looks?
What does the 2 allen bolts on intake cam cap 1 get torqued to?
If you are building the head from scratch do you still need to do the measurements for the shim and buckets? I am learning 2jz engine
What do you use for power steering brackets?
🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hello Alberto this maybe a stupid question, are the torq specs the same for my 2jz gte vvti ?
siiiick
You going to run a sinco/6boost manifold or just that one you have currently brother? Choice video btw! Enjoying the content!
This one for now. Will upgrade once this one hits the fan
5:41 was i the only one that said deeked when he put in the bucket? 😂
BRRRRTTTTTT
I see these are torqued to Alberto spec "tiick!" Lol
Tic spec
@@ALBERTOBIGBOOST haha yeah.
19:43 alberto did that cam gear just jump timing? i saw that cam gear move over and the intake side didnt move at all.
i guess maybe realistically it didnt matter since u were holding the camshaft with a wrench right?
Which intake manifold is that? Ebay?
What intake mani is that? I wannnnt
Albertouu, are this tutorials for future Adam? iYKwIM
Definitely purple valve cover. Like yeah black would look good. But black imo is also just so normal?
Purple might be a winner
👍🏼
glosd metallic purple valve cover
actually gloss metallic purple with flake or pearl
Hey big boost I have a question about the GE heads for my 2j build. Do GTE intake and exhaust manifold bolt up to the GE heads or do I have to get an intake specifically for the GE?
you'll need ge specific ones
The exhaust port locations differ
Realtime1501 the intake ports are also different
Intake and exhaust flanges are different. This is where sometimes I say it might be better off doing a full gte swap. Unless going all out
Yo Alberto do they make the belt in black or just green? Would hope the manufacturer would change that 🤷🏼♂️
Gates rpm is the same but in black
So then theres two ways of adjusting it cuz the manual says to adjust it from the top one that looks like the cr batteries
Always found those digital snap on torque wrenchs can be very in consistent depending how you hold it. You can feel it's overtorqued but you reposition your hand & it's good...
Returned mine for a non-digital.
When you measured the lash, aren’t you concerned with the angle you’re putting those straight feeler gauges in? The bucket angle is not in parallel to your feeler gauges. Why not use the step feeler gauges to avoid putting at an angle which will cause friction. Am I wrong?
I was going to replace my cranksensor. Bolt snapped. Tried extracting. Mounting hole split. So now i gotta replace my m50 timing cover. So guess i went from replacing a cranksensor to doing a timing belt 🤪 and im already broke lmaooo
😱😱😱😱omggg id just 2jz swap it at that point 🤣
those 7 dislikes are from the RB boys
21:41 did you torque that one?
The little one behind the pulley just did it with a wrench
please build mine!
U need to replace the Fluidampr PLZ!
Workin on getting one
Imagine how cool a 6 cylinder 4g63 would be
6g34 💪
Purple valve covers
Next video next video next video
NzHorri yota enjoy this one for now 💪🏻
Already working on the edit. Should be up this weekend
Y lo interesante a donde esta ?
hey bigboost wat did this build cost
No idea lol. Been getting everything little by litte. Would have to make a video adding the whole build list and cost
This a 2jz ge build noticed the Bolt holes not lining up on the valve covers
Wayne Salter yes, on exhaust cover 1 hole doesn’t line up, I cut the cover and repositioned/welded the mount in the right spot for GE head
Alberto BIGBOOST looks like a very nice build doing a ge build myself with a lot of runbc components 👌
is that only 10thou on the exhaust
BBLK68 0.010 is the recommended valve lash by Brian crowers cam card. Factory Toyota specs are 0.010 to 0.014
@@ALBERTOBIGBOOST yeah, i was only comparing to the .55mm on the kawasaki ultra 300 exhaust clearance
Is this his motor
Why not go shimless bucket?
These are an upgrade over the toyota shimless. Designed to last longer and hold up to heavy loads. The toyota shimless tend to crush and deform the top on high hp cars over time
@@ALBERTOBIGBOOST ok thank you for the answer.
How much hp your 2jc gonna make 🙄🤔
2jc?
Rb26 vs 2jz????
2jz all the way
Flake purple valve covers
Paint the valve covers black with a purple mist
permatex Aviation (80019) is better for cam cap seal, there is no chance of this ballooning and blocking the passage
Alberto, please get a Fluidampr balancer and not use a stock one especially for a 9500RPM engine!
Grab some vinyl paint and spray your green belt black.
If you going to rev so hard you will need to buy damper pulley because the stock is can handle it man
maq mia already added to the list. Will have it in an upcoming video 💪
9500rpm O_O
The valvetrain can take more but these are realistic numbers. I’m setting my limiter to 8500 to be safe with everything else
@@ALBERTOBIGBOOST **volvtrain**
Its going to be a damn shame when this beautiful engine assembly gets dirty 😔
I know trying to keep it
Clean as it is already 🤣
Black, too many different colors already...
9500rpm without shimless buckets...
These are the best buckets on the market for this engine. Oem shimless don’t hold up to high boost like these
Those are not lifters
