Those were some of the best car reactions I’ve ever seen. Second gear was smiles, third gear was worry, and fourth gear was sheer terror. Especially the first two guys. They were legitimately afraid for their lives. I’ve been in one car like that. Tony in Bham with the turbo 94-95 GT, that was you. I know the feeling. You think it’s going to stop pulling, and every gear makes more boost and more acceleration.
I rode in a waaay overpowered "street" impreza, it was probably making like 480-500 wheel and with the all wheel drive it felt like a time machine, every gear just had that garret turbo asking "more? Alright I'll do more"
Agreed I have experienced maybe 500hp Max but then had the chance to experience 750whp in a ute 6 speed. That was wild! 140kph downhill still smoking the back wheels. Crazy shit I wasent terrified but I was defiantly gobsmacked

Bro I was laughing so hard at that as well because I feel that I've only ever had a 315 horses feeling in my 04 caddy and that was after I spent months and finally diagnosed the couple of cracked coil packs and replaced them then I felt that pull for a full week before it done the same thing and checked the coil pack sleeves again and they were all fine but done the same misfires that it originally was doing
Not sure if you’ve been in fast cars or not but anything over a 1000rwhp gives the same reaction… whether a Honda , vette, Supra , lambo or viper. You always enter that tunnel vision effect at those speeds, the only difference is the quality of the ride. Older street cars no matter how well they’re built can feel sketch over 100mph …

God I'm so glad your enjoying this car man. I feel like any real "fleet" of vehicles should have a supra in it, and cleetus has one of the sickest fleets as it is. This supra fits right at home. We allllll dreamed of owning one of these cars, few of us are lucky enough to actually own one. We're all living our dreams through vids like these man. Bravo.
Every shift…it isn’t like one of his other cars in the fleet. Even though the 2JZ is a high revving engine, you can’t do that on every shift like that and expect it to hold up. It probably wasn’t a very well built block either.
This is why the Supra will always be my favorite car. I love the sound, it’s just high pitched and raspy enough to sound good. It sounds like a vq on steroids. Then you got anti lag and a massive single turbo, honestly I even love the laggy turbos because they take a second to spool but once they spool it’s like a rocket taking off.
This car belongs in the McFarland garage, its absolutely insane and clearly it never disappoints to put a smile on everyones Face everytime its pedal hits the metal, what a unit hope to see even more reaction ride alongs and afew races in the future 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Im so so happy you bought this car , i know you wont see this but thats ok. I hate to say this but it needs to be said , im so happy you love the car its a jdm legend, but , even though its fully built its not invincible. Its a car with character. Japanese cars are a learning curve they NEED to be driven a certian way. Its not like s v8 where you can drive it as hard as possible. Not that you were driving it hard but i think the amount of time on the 2 step killed it. These motors are stron as can be but 2step is not good for them as they were never really ment to have it. If i were to give you one piece of advice , have the motor rebuilt billet block and head if you want to 2step like that or limit the 2step to keep it reliable . There are weak points to these motors that alot of people just dont know about because of media they see. If you rebuild it do the research about the motor it will take time to learn about but in the end its worth it. I think imo for how you drive the limiter is too hard and too much 2step. . Id reccomend a billet block and head with rods pistons springs retainers , upgrade cooling system. Bigger rad oil cooler possibly meth to keep the temps down more too. And a better tune thats not as agressive but that still puts out the power that you are wanting
It is what it is. Anyone who would ever claim that a stock 2JZ is good for more than 600 is full of it. No surprises here. It hung in there as much as it could.
Yeah hopefully instead of selling the blown up engine he repurposes it with all forged internals. Plus the cooling system needs to be seriously overhauled and done overkill to destroy any sort of risk of detonation. If the radiator was swelling up that much, off of just some pulls something is definitely wrong. Maybe a fully custom bigger radiator is needed along with some small oil radiators in the bumper where airflow is and a dry sump system to keep oil moving and cool and the engine temps down. The stock internals of clearly capable of a lot of power upwards of 600, the fault lies in cooling like cleetus said and as others said too much pressure building up. You can’t keep spamming rolling anti lag like that a million times.

God I'm so glad your enjoying this car man. I feel like any real "fleet" of vehicles should have a supra in it, and cleetus has one of the sickest fleets as it is. This supra fits right at home. We allllll dreamed of owning one of these cars, few of us are lucky enough to actually own one. We're all living our dreams through vids like these man. Bravo.

Every shift…it isn’t like one of his other cars in the fleet. Even though the 2JZ is a high revving engine, you can’t do that on every shift like that and expect it to hold up. It probably wasn’t a very well built block either.
This is why the Supra will always be my favorite car. I love the sound, it’s just high pitched and raspy enough to sound good. It sounds like a vq on steroids. Then you got anti lag and a massive single turbo, honestly I even love the laggy turbos because they take a second to spool but once they spool it’s like a rocket taking off.
This car belongs in the McFarland garage, its absolutely insane and clearly it never disappoints to put a smile on everyones Face everytime its pedal hits the metal, what a unit hope to see even more reaction ride alongs and afew races in the future 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I think he will end up selling it. He has said he doesn’t know what he will do with it (content wise).

I don't think ANYONE didn't see this coming, haha! Can't wait to see how this eventually shapes up. Hopefully a cage, real seats and harnesses and a motor that'll put up with that sort of treatment.

Im so so happy you bought this car , i know you wont see this but thats ok. I hate to say this but it needs to be said , im so happy you love the car its a jdm legend, but , even though its fully built its not invincible. Its a car with character. Japanese cars are a learning curve they NEED to be driven a certian way. Its not like s v8 where you can drive it as hard as possible. Not that you were driving it hard but i think the amount of time on the 2 step killed it. These motors are stron as can be but 2step is not good for them as they were never really ment to have it. If i were to give you one piece of advice , have the motor rebuilt billet block and head if you want to 2step like that or limit the 2step to keep it reliable . There are weak points to these motors that alot of people just dont know about because of media they see. If you rebuild it do the research about the motor it will take time to learn about but in the end its worth it. I think imo for how you drive the limiter is too hard and too much 2step. . Id reccomend a billet block and head with rods pistons springs retainers , upgrade cooling system. Bigger rad oil cooler possibly meth to keep the temps down more too. And a better tune thats not as agressive but that still puts out the power that you are wanting

It is what it is. Anyone who would ever claim that a stock 2JZ is good for more than 600 is full of it. No surprises here. It hung in there as much as it could.
Yeah hopefully instead of selling the blown up engine he repurposes it with all forged internals.
Plus the cooling system needs to be seriously overhauled and done overkill to destroy any sort of risk of detonation. If the radiator was swelling up that much, off of just some pulls something is definitely wrong. Maybe a fully custom bigger radiator is needed along with some small oil radiators in the bumper where airflow is and a dry sump system to keep oil moving and cool and the engine temps down.
The stock internals of clearly capable of a lot of power upwards of 600, the fault lies in cooling like cleetus said and as others said too much pressure building up. You can’t keep spamming rolling anti lag like that a million times.

especially big end big turbo high revving 2j cars this thing was revving out to 9500 he said that’s some insane big end power probably was around 900-1000 in this video but it’s hard to say may have been a little less
Are you guys going to do an engine tare down for that car? I would be interested to see what's out of spec or what failed and what's not functioning correctly for all that to happen 😊
probably the antilag. Antilag is very hard on engines, especially the exhaust valves
