This video shows you how to install an EGR valve on your 1993-1997 Ford Ranger. The EGR valve helps to reduce pollution by directing some exhaust gas back through the combustion chambers. If the valve is stuck the system won't work correctly, and if it leaks the engine might stall or not start at all.

It's a shame nobody ever tells you which engine they're working on. Kinda useless and you have to wait until you see something that gives it away and I don't want to be spending time and then find out it's not even the engine I have.

Is the egr tube nut the same size on a 4.0 engine? Only saying because I don't see the dip stick tube next to the egr like it is on my 4.0.

Which engine is this? Because I have a ‘97 Ranger, and the engine is a 2.3L, and it looks nothing like this.
