Ocelot, the son of the Boss, the real heir to the title of Boss, the unsung true "hero" of the series who played the role of a "villain" to dupe the world in order to help make it whole the way his Mother wanted, all in an attempt to help save the man he idolised and worshipped. Ocelot was the backbone and glue that held the series together. Great Character.

Ocelot is taking %80 of my interest in Metal Gear.. He makes me feel like there's always a way.
Mgs4 kind of suggests liquid, ocelot etc in MGS1 were actually on the right side i.e against zero and solid was unknowingly on the wrong working for foxhound till finding philanthropy with Otacon.
I've always got that feeling, in line with what The Boss mentions about the enemy and the times in MGS3

Ocelot never made obvious which side he was on during the Shadow Moses incident, even Liquid wasn't really aware he was being used for a higher purpose... most likely getting the DARPA chief killed, one of the patriots. Solid and Liquid were just pawns being played by the real players, the Patriots and Ocelot

I really like ocelot in MGS5 he was the only guy I could trust, Miller lost his mind Huey betrayed everyone killed alot of people, also quiet also I could trust in Mgs5.
Miller got betrayed by his own people, he tought Venom Snake was Naked Snake the whole time, that's why he trained Solid Snake later to defeat all of what he helped to create

I truly think that Hideo is one of those people that need an editor, or higher command, over him to keep him focused-- separate the wheat from the chaff sort of thing. When Hideo works freely he has a tendency (if not insurance) to lose the plot and speak out of his butt, unlike when he is focused you get stuff like Metal Gear Series.
There is so much in there that points to the plot, that requires engagement that to this day -- 20 some years later-- you can still find things like this.

@@LeBronKKIs that a compliment or a dig at Death Stranding? Because DS is his BEST work, story telling wise, and one of the greatest games ever made.
Actually made me wish he would make one last MGS because he's obviously improved A LOT in the writing department and, as someone who already loves the often messy story telling of MGS, I'm sure he'd make something nothing short of legendary.
Though I really don't see where he could take the story from where it is. He did conclude it, regardless of what people might think of the last game. People talk about a game focusing on The Boss but I think it's best for the franchise if her feats remain in the realm of legends.
I've seen every bit of this done before, every edit done by someone else, but....
I've never seen anyone do it so professionally, w/ such care.

Ocelot molded Venom Snake into something gaudy and unhuman. He used the Venom Snake / Skullface doppelganger to blaze a path through the worlds conflict zones, spreading the legend of Big Boss and laying the ground work for the real Outer Heaven. All the while while also engineering the weapons that would ultimately bring Cypher down and eliminate Zero.
Tbh Kaz molded Venom into his weapon of revenge against Big Boss (by making him a dummy BB to train Solid Snake how to kill the real BB). But I think both may be true (Doublethink)

@duece5542 I think Venom Snake and Skullface are the same person. More and more I'm leaning towards Chico being the body who's had Skullface's and Venom Snake's persona imprinted onto him. That would explain the fixation on Paz Venom has and also why Skullface repeats lines Big Boss says to Chico in Peace Walker. Among other things it would start to explain why Venom Snake never speaks directly to Skullface. Just a theory. I like theorycrafting with MGSV because so much of it is open eneded.

Revolver Ocelot is my all time favourite villain.
It always annoyed me they tried to semi-replace him with that whole "Liquid" handjob thing in MGS2 & 4.
Liquid should've been the main antagonist of MGS4.

My adventure with MGS started 2 months ago when I played The Phantom Pain for the first time. That was my first Metal Gear game and I can't believe how big of an emotional impact it had on me.
I really wish to get a sequel, but... Chapter 3 never came.
It's cool to have the truth ending and Quiet exit ending but I really wish to have more interactions with Kaz and Ocelot regarding the end of the game.

I'm convinced the only time Ocelot wasn't in control of the situation was when he shot Big Boss' eye. It's the only time me made a mistake that could have ruined the whole plan.
Calling him a wannebe is fine, but don't ever say he wasn't his greatest ally.

Imo Ocelot fulfilled the visions of The Boss. He freed the world (using Snake as a proxy) in MGS4 by fooling the entire world into thinking he was a bad guy.

Ocelot is the main character in the MGS saga and probably he's the only real character during MGSV TPP, I mean the only one being himself, not playing a weird role. I wonder why he went on with Kaz's plan for a "phantom Big Boss", maybe it was useful to distract attention so the real Outer Heaven could have a quiet start up... after Peace Walker we have no idea what happened to Big Boss until The outer Heaven uprising in 1995

Naked snake and zero had different opinions on what the bosses dream was all about which pinned them against each other even tho zero still cared for naked snake but it still set the entire ball in motion after GZ zeros only priority was to keep snake safe during his 9 Year coma he did what he thought was best the only people allied to snake before were ocelot and eve eventually when zero became ill after skull faces doing sigint created the AI that would eventually have the entire world by its balls and that AI pinned solid snake and liquid snake against each other in mgs the only villains were volgin

Why does Ocelot tell Miller “the moment you go back to cipher I’ll take you out. “If in this game ocelot is working for cipher who is also known as zero?
Is ocelot running a ruse on zero in this game as well? If ocelot is against Miller working for cipher, It doesn’t make sense that he goes along with Cipher’s plan in MGSV…Why does the REAL BIG BOSS take the player’s name when he rides off in the motorcycle?
Are we, the player, ACTUALLY the Big Boss but ocelot is telling everyone and himself that we’re the doppelgänger of ourselves?! 😂

Zero offering to help Ocelot isn't the same as the latter working for Cipher in MGSV. To begin with, Cipher by itself was basically split in half between Zero and Skull Face during Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain. The latter was solely responsible for the attack on Mother Base and the former only found out afterwards. Zero may be enemies with Big Boss thanks to their differences in ideology, but he doesn't want him dead either as Zero still sees him as a close friend.
Ocelot knows this so he decides to accept Zero's offer to help cause both of them share a common goal at the time: protecting Big Boss.
I am so lost, and please help
Ocelot played everyone throughout the series, not only pretending to be the villain, but also pretending to be working for the United States or Russia, when in reality all of this time he has been the main and only person to be 100% vested alongside Big Boss and his most loyal partner and by the end of it all (MGS4) he was just trying to make the world whole again as was the wish of his mother (The Boss). He truly played everyone (both in the games and the players) up until all of it was slowly rolled out to everyone.
I still think Ocelot’s character in MGS V wasn't the REAL Ocelot….Yes, he idolized big boss’s ways… but remained as a villain whilst doing so….meaning he was NEVER an ally...
