- Hey guys thanks for watching my new video. Consider liking and maybe subscribing??!?. I haven’t been able to post in quite a long time because there are a lot of things going on in life right now and most instances I don’t even have time to turn on my ps4 so sorry for no uploading. I hope you guys enjoy this video. There are none like this so far, there are videos called all “MGS3 Cqc cutscenes” and “All MGS5 CQC cutscenes”. But this one has all of the scenes from the series( Most of them anyway). I chose to leave certain ones out like quiet and stuff but you know what I mean. Thanks for watching please enjoy!!

Kojima's insane obsession with CQC will never not be hilarious
For real man! There’s always CQC in every game and it never gets old
CQC was quite wasted in GR Wildlands concidering it's connected to MGS
i think it's awesome; it has strong roots in judo-there are videos on youtube showing the throws snake does in mgsv and their judo/wrestling/grappling counterparts
and of course, there are the mixed martial arts, which is personally why i love cqc in mgsv and the other games so much

And if you noticed, each one has him slowly getting better at countering The Boss to the point where he eventually surpassed her in the final battle (It still requires proper timing to counter her CQC moves, though.)

MGSV: Liquid gets beat up by an indoctrinated Medic surgically made to look like Big Boss, while both believing he is Big Boss and staying loyal to the true Big Boss.

you can do that to volgin when you're fighting him at the base, i never managed to use it but you can kick volgins ass if you're good enough
i like it too, everybody's could think that he is the semi-final boss, but even with that you can just defeat him in a fight, so the CQC is effective even with big guys.

@@tritonus162 Well its my theory that the event in snake eater isn’t long enough for Snake to develop his CQC skill to overcome and improve on the Boss’s decades of expertise. His development was in his mentality in the sense that he realized that he has no other choice than to beat her. It was gradual but he got there eventually.
@@horusksa1983 But The Boss had no reason to try her hardest, like he would have to (in the ending). Snake definitely would've stopped 'holding back' eventually but I cannot confidently say he surpassed the Boss when the Boss was technically holding back as well, from the beginning to the end.

This popped up in my suggestion. I'm glad I stumbled upon it.
Something that made me love MGS3 is the detail they put into Snake's CQC. He explains to the boss in the second codec call how his CQC is "probably pretty rusty".
And it really shows in his first encounter with the Ocelot unit. Sure, Snake defeats them, but his CQC is notable rough all around.
As the game progresses you can see how much more proficient he gets, and fucking love it.
I know this is a very obvious detail, but it's so hard not to enjoy.

And even before that, you can tell that Venom Snake isn't Big Boss just from the CQC choreography alone. Venom Snake very clearly pummels people a little too much; Big Boss is more of a grappler than a boxer when it comes to CQC.

Although, I figured it wasn't the real Big Boss due to the fact he doesn't speak nor understand Russian- as MGS3 has Sokolov complementing Snake on his Russian. Which is still a really nice touch, even if unintentional.

All things considered, John did quite well against the Boss in MGS 3 considering he JUST got into the Fox Unit and the Boss was a co-founder of Fox and his mentor. Also, gotta love the CQC in MGS 5, it feels so crisp and fast.
John and The Boss created CQC, together. If The Boss' the best at it, then John would be a close second, seeing as he, too, literally created it.
I haven't played all of MGS besides 5, but I can tell Hideo Kojima really liked 1970s-80s David Bowie. Every major character is eccentric and sports a mullet.

I'm pretty sure he wanted to use the original version of The Man Who Sold The World but the licensing would have been too expensive

Solid Snake always knew CQC since FoxHound, but after MG2: Solid Snake he stopped using it.
That changed in MGS4 when OP: Snake Eater got public. Soldiers thought they were using CQC so Snake would't want to be left behind and started schooling their asses.
I love how in metal gear universe using cqc if you are 2 meters close to an enemy is just superior.
Facts. If there closer than 2 meters who needs weapons… just use CQC!!

I forget where I read about it now, I think it was determined by the LAPD or something, that if an assailant was within 21 feet or closer, they could get to you faster than you could draw a gun from a holster and line up a shot, so it was better to prepare for a hand to hand engagement at that range.
If you can't have a shot lined up already before they are within reach of you, you run the risk of them grabbing the gun, as The Boss demonstrates multiple times.

Was there any CQC in MGS2?
Solid Snake refused to use the fighting style after killing Big Boss, and only started using it again once PMC's started becoming trained in it.
And I can't remember Solidus or Ocelot ever using it.

Venom snake seems to be the most aggressive and violent cqc based character and he was just a normal soldier hypnotized but somehow big boss can lift a peace walker off of himself and get utterly shit on in mgs3 😭

@@rietzhu a basic combat medic, who got hypnotized into being the phantom of Jack who really had no super strength to begin with went toe to toe with the skull unit, quiet, sahelanthropus, man on fire and a couple other key players. Just a basic man with no real enhancements besides his arm. Is still more of a unit in my mind then naked snake. And yes I’ve played EVERY game in the franchise all the way to metal gear rising. Only games I’ve ever %100 in my life my dude, Venom snake is still more of a unit without any enhancements to him. Jack still gets owned in 3 and it was very apparent. Can’t change my mind. I know you love big boss as much as anyone else but even then In the end he became the villain just like the rest. Solid was the true hero of all the snakes 🐍

Big Boss would probably win if it was only a pure CQC fight. However, a "no rules" fight to the death with weapons already had a hard fought winner there. CQC is gotta be Big Boss though. He's the CQC OG (also The Boss) and the reason these other bad asses are using it. Plus Ocelot was pretty equal to Solid. Can't say the same about Big Boss. So many variables though.

All these cutscene literally all the soldiers would have a chance to shoot snake but no (Plot Armor)

He generally takes a human shield, yeah he may not cover his entire body with them but the idea is the opponent with the gun has no idea what Snake will do if he tries to shoot - put his comrade in the line of fire presumably. Still a little sus I agree but it’s not a blatant clear line of shot.

1911s aren't that easy to disassemble.
MGSIV CQC Is... so bizarre to watch lol. Like the characters have no weight and the motions snake makes wouldn't generate nearly enough power or be fast enough to actually do anything.
