- Beyond the spring sale there were a few more Steam games I grabbed in March. Not all of them were on sale, unfortunately, and weirdly at least one I've highlighted here didn't work out very well, but hey, 4 out of 5 ain't bad, right? :p

You've really broadened your gaming horizon a lot the past year. At first, a lot of your recommendations were quite mainstream and well known, but now it's to the point where I'm discovering lots of cool Steam games via your videos. And a lot of your recommendations are perfect for the OLED, thanks to its amazing battery life and screen!
Well, I try to offer a decent mix where I can. Sometimes if I only cover more indie fare people complain that I don't cover beefier, more taxing games which usually are pretty mainstream. Either way, appreciate the kind words, dude :) And glad to hear so many of them look good on the OLED model!

Really good recommendations overall. When you talk about sound or voice it would be cool if you play some of it during the gameplay. I'd like to hear how the AI mocks you for example. As for more audio, I've been trying to figure out a good way to do that but definitely something I've been thinking about as more and more games have just incredible sound design and I don't highlight that enough. @@YourPlayer2 what I see often that works pretty good is after you played the segment with your voice over let the gameplay run a little longer and increase the sound volume. For I don't know 5 - 10 seconds and then continue on. And you're welcome. Feedback is the breakfast for champions and you're most definitely that ❤️
@@potatoeOnRooftop In the immortal words of Kevin McCallister, I'll give it a whirl :p My dad also did a lot of video editing in his day doing multimedia production for commercials and he's pointed out that I should do that more often to highlight the ambient noise of a game. LoL you're too kind :p
Nice pickups! Saboteur is a fantastic game and one that is talked about often! Back when it released, the reviews were not great and seriously I don't know why! As more players tried it, the player critic score became better which is why it's looking more positive now! You should definitely finish that one, it's worth it! I have Helldivers 1 on PS4, I hope it doesn't have the same glitch! I should try it out after I'm done with Triangle Strategy! Great video and keep up the good work!
Thanks, Dan! Yeah I can't believe I passed on it back in the day but hey, better late than never I suppose. I'm sure it'll be fine on the PS4 but it's weird seeing other comments on here where some people had no issues while others encountered what I did. Hopefully it's something as simple as a re-install or proton issue but we'll see. Take care, dude!
Yes! I picked up BleakSwordDX a while ago; excellent on deck but so frustrating! I also picked up Saboteur in the sale after remembering it from the Xbox 360 days but never jumping on it. I always heard it was "like GTA in Paris" but I am guessing it's not quite like that (still need to find time to play it!)... and Mothmen 1966 - so glad you picked that up, I do remember mentioning it here and you responding that it looked interesting, so happy I could help if I did! I'm currently playing their follow up Varney Lake, which is also fun - very Stephen King, which I appreciate. Looking forward to getting through it so I can move on to the third game, Bahnsen Knights.
Gah, I should've mentioned as much and think I just saw it on my wishlist when I took the leap- appreciate the heads-up, dude! I don't think it'll be QUIET as fleshed out as a GTA but I've enjoyed the setting nonetheless :) I'll check out their other titles on your recommendation!
@@YourPlayer2 Haha, no worries at all! I'm too old to care about being mentioned in a video lol. Just glad you liked it! Looking forward to jumping on Saboteur, just need to find the time. I did just pick up Hyper Light Drifter this week as I had it on my wish list for ages and it's on a killer sale price right now, and I absolutely love it. Just perfect on deck. Wasn't gaming half as much as I am now back in 2016, and a NoClip doc on Heart Machine really made me want to look in to that team more.
I also picked up Mothmen 1966. I loved the demo for Varney Lake and decided to start with the earlier (cheaper) title.
I have that on the wishlist too and hope to check the others out as well :)
I always skip ”list of games” videos on YT except yours. You always drop some gems I didn’t even know existed.

The Saboteur is a great Game, I have for PS3 and PC. You probably know this by now but on PC you have the option to remove women's clothes. I've been playing/recording a few games as well: Tomb Raider (PS4), F1 2018 (PS4), Resident Evil 2 Remake (PS4) Gran Turismo 2 (on PS2) and now I started playing WWE 2K18 on PC and Hitman on PS4 and PC. Yesterday I heard some rumors about the Announcement for Splinter Cell Remake, let's hope it's true and the Game is great.
LoL I did notice that and meant to mention it but forgot :p I just bought Tomb Raider myself for the Deck after enjoying it on the Xbox One years ago :) Will this be your first time with the RE2 remake?! If so you're in for a great time with that one :D AND I SAW THAT- Here's hoping we get some Sam Fisher news soon!
@@YourPlayer2 It's my first time with Resident Evil Remake and I'm loving it. :) Tomb Raider is a great Game and I still need to finish the Remakes on PC, man, I really hope they Announce the Splinter Cell Game soon but meanwhile I will be playing the original on PC.

I had the EXACT same issue trying to get Helldivers to work on my Steam Deck a while back. Interesting list! I have been completely into Archvale recently. I bought it a while back but never really got into it - not sure why, I am loving it now! Once I finish playing it through, I'll be checking out a few new games. I have been on the fence about DX ever since I saw it, but you may have convinced me. I recently upgraded to the Beta on my deck and set my kids up on the new family sharing thing - way better than it used to be - so now I have a couple more hundred games available to me that I didn't before....which means I'll never get through my backlog (which I guess is a good problem to have) lol.

@@YourPlayer2 I tried it in both docked and non docked if I recall, but honestly its been long enough that I couldn't say for sure. I'll probably revisit at some point, but yeah I have plenty to keep me busy! Hope you pick up Archvale, if you like pixel art style shooting games, its fantastic. Also, when I bought it I found a steam key for sale for a couple of bucks, so if you want to pick it up you might look around.

The saboteur looks really interesting... Getting a bit of a mafia vibe from it (gameplay wise). Wishlisted :)
Haven't got any more new games, but I tried Balatro tonight. Honestly... I'm a little underwhelmed (after all the hype everywhere). But I was feeling a little down which is why I didn't continue with Returnal as it would just crush my soul 😂 so maybe not really a fair chance for it... I'll try again later. Instead fired up borderlands 2 again and started a new Zer0... Always fun clicking heads with a sniper rifle 😇
I was really surprised by it! And I think that's a good comparison which reminds me I still need to finish the mafia series someday. As for Balatro it was recommended here at one point but I struggle with card games outside ofMagic: The Gathering so might not be my cup of tea. Bwahaha I feel ya- Similarly even though I LOVE Elden Ring, sometimes I just need something lighter and don't relish getting decimated by Malenia again :p OH! SPEAKING of sniper rifles, you see this new game, Children of the Sun? Looks hyper stylized and focused on eh, puzzle sniping but it has a demo and I'm DEFINITELY gonna give that one a look! Sleigh Bells song in the trailer sure didn't hurt either :p

Thanks for the video! On Steam I noticed that the company that made Mothmen1966 (I will have to try this out - I played games like this in the 80s (wow, now that I think about it) has a couple of other ones, Varney Lake (something about a vampire), and Bahnsen Knights (“…occultists, biblical storms, and… a car salesman turned preacher”). I was wondering if you had tried either of those? Cheers

Helldivers 1 plays fine for me on Steam Deck. I don't run in docked mode. Occasionally will play on PC with controller without issues.
Glad to hear it's working for you too! I'll give it another go at some point I'm sure, mostly because a couple of my friends grabbed it too and had similar issues but to be fair I think I dig 2 more anyways :p
Bummer! One of my HDII squad mates just gifted me HDI. Was hoping to play on Deck... ah well, another desktop game for me to play 20 minutes of and then hang on my Steam Hall of Shame.
Well, a few people here are having no issues with it so it could be something goofy about my setup? Hopefully it works well for ya so you can play with your buds!
I am currently playing Helldivers on my SD OLED and had none of the issues you mention in your video. I'm playing this game docked in 1440p with a locked 60fps and the load times are of no concern. So, not sure what's up with your setup.
Glad it worked for ya! I'll have to mess with it more and see if maybe a different proton version or just playing raw handheld is better. Could always do a re-install too I suppose.

Can you play single player in the original Helldivers? Steam lists it as co-op only but it looked like you were playing solo…
Well, I didn't really make it that far in :p All I can say is when I did the tutorial and tried that first mission I was indeed playing solo and didn't have any non-clone squadmates drop in that I could tell.

i play H1 mont ago and it was completely ok. loading tim was on, performance was ok, net connection was ok. Do you modify your steam, deck somehow? If yes, you probably break something.
Nah it's pretty vanilla for the most part, but I'll try a different proton version and see if I can have a better experience. OR maybe it was just something weird about docked mode?
