  • As is routine this isn't EVERY game but rather SOME Steam games I grabbed in April and I have to say, this is one of my favorite pickup months ever when it comes to PC gaming. I didn't go bonkers or anything, but a bunch of the new stuff I tried really resonated with me and I love seeing how many weird gaming experiences we get in the modern age. Let me know if you have any recommendations!

    Children of the Sun looks absolutely gorgeous.
    Yet again I’m put on to some obscure game I’ve never heard of thanks to this channel. Thanks!

      Right?! Like I was sold just on the colors alone but once I got to playing it I LOVED its loop of finding the best path for weaving your bullet. LoL glad I could help and appreciate that you're still hanging out, Evil :)

    Children of the Sun looks great, and Pools is really intriguing. I love the diversity of games featured in your videos, and the fact you spotlight obscure gems. Great video as always.

      I've certainly had fun with both so far and when I muster up the courage I'll eh, well dive back into Pools XD Glad you like the variety and I do my best to keep a good balance of heavy hitters and lesser knowns because wow, there are LOTS of legitimately great games in the latter category! Appreciate t he kindness, AM :)

    Great video. Right now, I'm playing pools. I also pick up Tony Hawk 1&2 twice. My son and I have been playing Goat Simulator 3 together. He likes it a lot.

      Thanks man! Pools was just so vivid I had to feature it. Technically nothing has tried to 'get me' in it yet, but man there are some unsettling moments. Bwahaha I bet that's a blast!

    Nice pickups! Children of the Sun looks awesome! I really enjoy when a dev releases something different so I will need to check that one out! Ok this has never happened before! When you showed the footage of Pools and you went through that very tight corridor, I felt not good at all, almost in a panic! I will definitely not pickup that one at all lol! Can't wait to see what you're looking forward to that's releasing this month! Great video and keep up the good work!

      I feel ya dude- It’s just refreshing when some dev outs out something wholly unique and the style ALONE was enough to suck me in. I felt the same! No history of claustrophobia or anything but when I maneuvered through it I was uncomfortable for sure. Hit up the demo! Appreciate it, brother :)

    I think Umurangi Generation is an example on why playing on a computer instead of the Steam Deck (or keyboard and mouse) might be better. Some games are designed for keyboard and mice and while there's nothing stopping players from playing games like The Sims 4 on a Steam Deck or other handheld PC, the game isn't optimized for controllers. I know it's not convenient to hook up a keyboard and mouse (which would be out of the question in most scenarios such as a car), but that is something to keep in mind. On the other hand, there are some games that are hard to play without a controller which would give the Steam Deck an advantage here.

    • @YourPlayer2
      @YourPlayer2  2 месяца назад

      That's a really good point- playable vs 'designed for' is an important distinction! Like I played and enjoyed Valheim on the Deck shortly after I got it, but I'm POSITIVE that'd have been a better experience on mouse and keyboard.

    Wasn’t expecting you to cover Umurangi Generation but I’m glad you did. Been tempted to pick it up to play on my Deck since it reminds me a lil bit of Sludge Life in terms of visuals. It’s unfortunate that the controls aren’t in a great place for native controller. Might wait for a steep sale on this :/

    • @YourPlayer2
      @YourPlayer2  2 месяца назад

      Yeah, I was just looking for a relaxing game to check out and figured I'd give it a whirl. Don't get me wrong it's not unplayable or anything, it just felt a little jarring against a super chill backdrop ya know?

    • @gargablargblarg
      @gargablargblarg 2 месяца назад

      @@YourPlayer2 For sure yeah. Wanting to chill but having to occasionally wrestle with controls really isn’t ideal. Though it is nice that there are com layouts for it at least, even if they’re not all there. There are so many games that just don’t have com layouts lol.

    Hey Josh, I hope you're having a great week so far, I used to play Tony Hawk 2 a lot on PS1 but I made the mistake lending it to a classmate and he took it away from me (I hate when that happens). I bought the PS4 version when it came out but never finished it but it's still on my list, last week I bought Resident Evil 4 Remake Gold Edition and yesterday I managed to find both Resident Evil Outbreak Games for PS2, they should arrive next Monday, next week I will get (hopefully) The Last of Us Part II for PS5, I have it for PS4 as well but I decided to get the PS5 version. P.S: I read an article Online that the 1st Uncharted Game Remake is in the works, I hope it's true, I can't wait for June to see which Games are going to be announced but I'm going to start saving money for the next Nintendo console, selling my Switch was a huge mistake specially after the Gaming PC fiasco.

      Hope yours is going well too, dude! Gah, I've had that happen before as well and always a bummer. Oh man I haven't thought about the Outbreak games in forever! I have to imagine sooner or later Uncharted will get remakes- people just too fond of that series :) I'm curious when the next Switch will drop!

      @@YourPlayer2 Hey Josh, I hope you're having a great weekend so far, I was super angry when he took it away from me but I have the PS4 version. My Outbreak copies will arrive tomorrow and then I will get Luigi's Mansion 2 next month and then I will get The Last of Us Part II and Marvel's Spider-man 2 both for PS5 in July. I'm dying to see which Games will be announced in June.

      @@YourPlayer2 I couldn’t get jigggy with it when I came out. Granted I’ve only recently gotten into turn based games. But 2 hours into it and I really like it. Granted I’m playing on ez and just letting the game randomly upgrade my character.

    Do wanna pick up children of the sun too at some point... Looks cool!
    Didn't pick up anything new myself, did start playing twin mirror which I'm not sure anymore where I picked it up, but I didn't realize or I forgot that it's a Dontnod game (like life is strange). Only a couple hours in but it's pretty cool and runs fine on deck.
    Also started on Tina's wonderlands, but I'm not sure yet... Mechanically it's still cool, but the classes and spells and weapons feel kind of convoluted to me while the story so far seems inconsequential. It did just finally all go wrong so hopefully I'm just getting to the good part now. Playing this on the big PC though.

    • @YourPlayer2
      @YourPlayer2  2 месяца назад +1

      It really is! Initially I was on the fence only because a lot of 'Genre X but as a puzzle!' titles don't really do it for me. But I think it, sort of smartly stayed out of its own way. Because it's quick, interesting, and fulfilling without being overwhelming. Plus curving bullets is rad :p
      I'll have to look up Twin Mirror as I'm not familiar but I do like Life is Strange-ish games as a break from high-octane action adventure titles!
      I feel ya on Tina- I played a bit more after I featured it some time back but it sort of fell into the backlog. Like I dig the humor and all, but something about it I guess.
