You’re doing God’s work, laddy
My man 💪
The three watch collection at the end is my favorite here. New goal, to put something similar together, at a rate of one piece per year.
The Ball moon phase is especially amazing. And if the bracelet doesn't cut it, I am sure it would be more than well served by a top shelf ostrich or alligator strap.
Awesome grouping today! Thanks for spreading the knowledge Teddy! I am still in awe of your piece on your grandfather's history and his watch. What a great tribute to the men in your family. My brother was recipient of my dad's Elgin Railroad Watch from the 1930's. He recently gifted it to my son, who is crazy for watches and watch history. Also a great story. He will someday gift it to my grandson!
This is the price range where the "One Watch Collection" choices really starts to open up. Snowflake, The bright-colored OPs (at retail, at least), so on and so forth. Cheers Teddy!
Agreed. 6k is one of those tipping points of luxury watches.
How about the Zenith defy classic, great bracelet and display cashback with great movement
Interesting thought about the bright-colored OPs as a “One Watch Collection” watch. I would imagine those colorful dials are more for people who want “something fun”, and already have the daily watches covered with other watches. Personally, the OP36 in Bright Blue (“classic blue”) is my only luxury watch, wearing it every day. The bright colors would just be too colorful for my daily watch. (Don’t really like those stella colors either, but that’s just a matter of personal taste I guess).
You can just imagine Kevin at the Tudor counter: "Does this one come with a RED dial?" :-)
Red strap
...while wearing a hulk on a red strap...
Thank you very much for another entertaining video Teddy, I really appreciate that format. So much creative watch collection ideas :)
Appreciate you for watching Tobias!
I actually built my 3 watch collection at around $6k for the three most important moments of my life. I got a Tissot Chemin Des Tourelles Squellete as an engagement gift from my father in law, a Tudor Glamour Double Date when my first son was born and a pre-owned Zenith Chronomaster Grande Date when my second son was born.
Awesome collection 👍.
Solid choices
I had the green AT and I loved it; however, I got the AT Worldtimer and the z-blue Milgauss and the Green AT stopped getting wrist time so I traded it. Having said that, for a one watch person, at that price range, I agree the green AT would be the one.
Because of you Teddy (and I truly appreciate it) I have a different watch for every day of the week. G-shock gravitymaster 2100, Vaer Navy Swiss, Tissot gentleman, Tag Heuer carrera calibre 5, Ball Trainmaster Roman, Roadmaster GMT and Engineer M marvelight.
Really enjoy your content and it has inspired me to recently start my own watch collecting journey.
My, at the moment, "One Watch Collection" is a Tudor Black Bay Date S&G with the champagne dial.
A very nice two tone divers watch that can dress up and down, with some really great contrasts. Casual or formal? It does both. And it has a date complication just for some added goodness. Prefer watches with dates as they are more everyday watches.
Prefer the champagne dial to the black dial, as the black dial an bezel just becomes a big black hole on your wrist. The champagne dial just provides a great contrast to the black bezel on gold and the two tone bracelet.
Thanks Teddy !
One of my favorite channels on RUclips
Amazing how you and the channel have grown in the Two years I've been watching 👍
Hooray for Anordain. What about a country list e.g Building a collection of just Brittish watches. An American list and German watches list would also be great to see
That could be fun. Tested out doing it with one brand but that could be something to investigate too.
I just checked out their website. I like the Plum Fume, but fell in love with the Iron Cream model. The dial is a beautiful creamy off-white. They are doing great work with the vitreous enamel.
@@balesjo The Iron Creme on the Brown cordovan strap (or indeed the Pin Grain Kid Strap) is a thing of beauty!
The persona idea is fantastic. It covers the ‘each to their own’ as closely as possible in such a format.
Aqua Terra is a true Go Anywhere, Do Anything piece. Gets overlooked because people are stuck on divers. 😒
as well stuck on the explorer!
Lack of any kind of micro adjustment in the clasp hurts it. It's the only reason I won't buy one.
I have one and love mine.
You are right people just want sports watch most of the time and i dont understand why lol I also prefer dress watch or a mix of dressy/sport style! That way you can wear your watch everyday everywhere you go and the aquaterra is the pefect solution for this.
@@joshperkins197 There are enough micro links to make up for this. What makes this watch very wearable without micro adjust is that the watch wears very light on wrist, so even if it seems slightly too loose, it doesnt pull its weight around your wrist if you get what I mean.
That Baume & Mercier looks really good, the refreshed Riviera would also fit really well. Great video and thank you for giving us so much content each time! :)
That Black-blue Baume & Mercier, the green Oris Aquis & a Gshock 5600 and you have the perfect 3 watch collection
@@urielalbertosanchezm The Ball Moon Phase dial is also amazing. Too bad about the bracelet..
@@urielalbertosanchezm for me a GM 2100 instead of 5600
@@pabloescobar1485 2100 with metallic frame is gorgeous
@@urielalbertosanchezm yep, it's 💯
I love the Ball Engineer II moon phase, never seen that model before. The dial is beautiful - especially the moon phase. 👍
Ball is SO underrated imho.
@@Majestic1987 yea I'm just really looking into them now I don't know a lot about them but they seem a very interesting brand.
The Ball Engineer hydrocarbon is amazing and it's built beautifully with that awesome crown guard. Michael Caine is actually a fan of that watch ⌚
Teddy as always a great video! Your viewers know you have to put in a lot of work with the various personas. Watching the video again…
I went for Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 38 with black dial on a black leather strap. To go well with my black leather jacket. I can't wait to put my hands on it!
Thank you for showing me the orient watches! Ordering a kamasu and a SK diver retro right after I get my bulova.
Great video again, Teddy! I like these a lot.
I like the one-watch collection personna on this dollar value a lot and I think you had tremendous choices there! I saw that one and immediately started looking up more on the Omega Seamaster Aquaterra.
The first collection I liked a lot too... that Hamilton Panda is just a great dial!
I love the idea of the perfect duo personna. Curious about your thoughts on my Perfect Duo - 1. Tudor Black Bay 58 and 2. Nomos Club Campus with white dial and manual movement. I think that hits the $6K mark, roughly.
Some great choices in here Teddy! Love the aqua terra choice! So dang versatile!
I'll take the Aqua Terra on its own over all of the other options. It's an incredible watch, I bought one recently with the green dial and since I've had it it's not lost or gained even a second...it's damned beautiful as well and so comfortable to wear. I have 2 other Omega's, a Rolex, a Tudor, a Longines and a Seiko and am seriously considering selling most my other watches as none of them get any wrist time!
Really great video - like the persona approach and you covered so many watches. Very nicely done! Omega Aqua Terra GMT would be a great one watch choice, as would any Tudor BB Chrono, or a Zenith El Primero.
Your ability to balance historical and technical perspectives on watches is great. Have you ever considered having a presentation on pocket watches?
i loved that baume & mercier watch & the seiko watch , & i really loved that anordain in red , it was beautiful & unusual too .
Another banger. Love these vids. Keep em coming.
Please keep making these, I think this is a good price range for a majority of people
I own a Hamilton Intra-Matic in an automatic and put a black alligator strap on it. I’ve had it for a while and it keeps really good time. I’ve had more compliments on it than on many of my other watches.
I think I identify with the three watch collection. Glad you included the Doxa 300T in this. Tudor 1926 choice surprised me. Would not have come to my mind but I admit it looked quite good. I like the vintage Omega constellation.
Teddy, I've heard many times on channels that watch sizes can be a problem with small wrists. Do you have a video that discusses the wrist ranges and your thoughts on max sizes for those individuals. For the online buyer, this would be helpful information.
It's not the size per se, but lug to lug length that can be problematic for us with skinny wrists
Yes he does
I'd recommend this video from the Slender Wrist. I think it's the most comprehensive guide ruclips.net/video/QldfWgOS9Yg/видео.html
@@drfathertime lug to lug is a great measure. Watches with bezel like divers use to look smaller. In the other hand awatch that's only dial will look bigger. These visual tricks help a lot the lug to lug
Someone did a big study about this a couple of years ago and something like 80% of watch buyers think their wrist is smaller than average with many of those whose wrist is above average believing it to be extremely small.
FYI the average (male) wrist out of, I believe a couple of thousand, was around 6¾ inches.
I really want one of those anordain watches. I love seeing the engineering inside a watch... but the dial in this case is a show of artistry in itself. will probably be my second watch in my collection.
For a couple of decades, I've thought that Baume & Mercier makes absolutely beautiful dress watches. Have seen some really nice watches on the pre-owned market at very good prices.
Very nice. The Doxa is more affordable than I thought - and especially that short lug-to-lug dimension. Good vid. Keep at it!
Two thumbs up for Teddy, this is one of the most useful videos on youtube for watch enthusiasts :-)
I’ve been in the market for a great looking vintage watch and I’ve been edging towards Omega, just as Teddy suggested here. The only problem I have when looking at vintage watches, is that I’m not exactly sure what I need to be looking for. If anyone had any tips I’d hugely appreciate it.
Got the green longines for christmas, great looking watch but not the most comfortable in terms of the rubber strap, but steal one is surprisingly more comfortable. I guess it depends on the wrist.
Very professional love the content 👌
Imagine giving this (or any) of his videos a thumbs down. Wow.
Great video Teddy. I love that Omega!
Nice now I know more or less what to get for my first watch to my collection 👌🏼
Thank you for the videos. Enjoy your channel.
Hello Teddy and thank you for an excellent video. With 6k I would select a Sinn 144 St Sa, Oris Aquis Date 39.5mm and a Longines Conquest Heritage 35mm. Best regards.
Sinn makes some awesome watches love the Sinn Instrument chronographs and the Regulartor and for a dress watch it still comes with 100m WR. Even there navitimer is awesome
I have the Ball Engineer Moon phase and the Hamilton Intra-matic on my wish list. For the Intra-matic I will definitely go with the Blue Dial. Cant wait to see the $7K video.
Tudor nowadays are on the waiting lists while you can get Omegas with 10-20% discount. BB Chrono Panda on a bracelet ….well good luck with that )
Cool, thank you Teddy 👍🏻👍🏻
Teddy I notice that none of the personas seem to have any focus of pilots watches , or a sort of “land/air/sea/dress” combo. Any chance you could add that to the mix? Just my two cents :)
Love all the check off the boxes watches! Wish I had seen this video before all the watches I purchased over the years 🤔 ok still watching...
This video , made me switch from sneakers to watches last year .... so far I got couple Hamilton, last week I got HydroConquest, great opener for the watch world 👍
Just bought the Seiko Presage SPB167J as per your recommendation, love it and the videos :)
Datejust 1601, Seiko SKX, and vintage Seamaster. You can find great examples of each for well under $6k all together.
Great choices, good show.
Awesome video!
My 3 watch collection for $5000 : Diver : Tissot Seastar , Aviation Chronograph: Longines big eye and GMT : Grand Seiko SBGN 003
Anordain has amazing customer service as well in case anyone is looking their way, can't go wrong
Cant wait for the $7,000 video! Great job as always, dude.
My collection so far is breguet type xx and a Tudor blue bay 58 next piece to add is a white face dressier piece
Nice background Teddy! Looks real professional!
Teddy - did you film this episode in Cleveland. Looking out the windows behind you I don’t recognize those buildings. Just curious.
The scope of this, with no less than 7 personas, is seriously comprehensive. Great picks as always. Well done sir!
I watch your channel! I didn’t know you were a watch collector. What’s your go-to normally when you’re not on the course?
Love that Tudor chrono panda. 🐼
What about a seiko GMT spring drive? Or a classic Tudor black bay? Soooo many good options in that price range
Watching this series hoping for something new to wow me or swing me to one side or the other...my current crisis is trying to decide between a white Sinn 104 or a blue Oris pointer date? The tudor 1926 may have added a 3rd wheel to my tricycle
I'm currently building a three watch collection that will be around $6,000ish so I definitely identify with that persona. I already have a Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic and my plan is to pickup a Sinn 556 I and a pre owned black dial Omega Aqua Terra.
that Hamilton is cool it reminds me of the Panerai platinum 1940 chronograph even though they're not that similar besides the chronograph function 😎👍
Love these kinda videos
Congats, nice video!
I really like the new NOMOS Club Sport Neomatik 42 Date Blue on a bracelet. Would you be able to show something on that? Maybe even compared to their classic Club or Club Campus lines.
I’ve never come across the Hamilton Chronograph today and honestly it is one of the most beautiful watches I’ve ever seen in my life
Great job Sir!👍I love watches. 😀
Great video!!!
Hey Teddy! Can you do a video of the Aquaterra with strap options?
One brand, I have noticed, that rarely gets a mention in these "collection" watches is Christopher Ward. I could see a few of their models fitting into some of these categories easily. Also, I have never seen Teddy handle one in the flesh. He mentioned the C60 a few years ago but it was just a screenshot, nothing on the wrist or in hand. Just something that I think a few of us would enjoy.
My favs in this range omega seamaster and speedmaster
Really surprised not to see a Norqain watch on here. Very great value entry level Swiss watch. Great sport watches, great chronos as well.
I bought the AquaTerra after i watched your review of it. But the white dial with the orange seconds hand.
Love this series! Thanks for the video Teddy. Love the content Your videos have inspired me to start my own collection. So far have a glycine combat sub and a grand seiko sbga 129
It would be really cool to see an all german collection, all Swiss collection, and all Japanese collection videos. Hopefully I'm not the only one who would enjoy that. 😊
You just can't beat a Hamilton. They are Swiss made but with an American heritage. They are classic, yet stylish and trendy at the same time. And this is all done at a reasonable price. They have historically been quality watches and remain so.
where did you get your shirt from? it's very nice!
That shirt fits your build perfectly!
I've been looking at that Baltic since they announced the release. I want a super compressor, and this is such a good looking watch and has great specs for the money. But it's so... plain. Would be so much better if the second hand had an orange tip, for example. It does need a tiny bit of colour IMHO
Aquaterra and black bay. My favorite 2 watch collection.
I love the Doxa Sub 300T and as a diver it is the best. I actually sold my Rolex Submariner and bought my Sub 300T I find it to be one of the most superior and underrated Dive watches on the market. I am Check the Boxes kinda guy and have a fairly large collection including many of the watches you have mentioned in your videos from Seiko to Cartier. I have vintage and modern watches from Hamilton Longines and Bulova; I even have the Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer. I have several vintage Ball Pocket watches as well, like you I have a deep connection to Ball as my Grandfather and Great Grandfather were both Rail Road Engineers. Even have a couple modern Ball Wrist watches. All and all I am nearing 100 watches in total and I am no where near stopping. I literally have a watch for everything and every occasion
Yes!, Aquaterra is the perfect 1 watch collection!
Could you please explain why the numeral 'IIII' is used instead the 'IV' in the watch's dial? Thanks
Hey Teddy - what's your take on certina brand?
Any chance you could review the Longines Master Collection Moonphase L2.909.4.78.3?
I think anOrdain is so unique and their watches are so beautiful and they truly deserve to be in any list.
recently tried on the green Aqua Terra and looks fantastic.
For me it was actually little disappointing in real life, just didn't feel like I was wearing a 5700 dollar watch. Went with sea master300 instead and loving it so far!
It does but I prefer the black dial.
Love that Hamilton in the touch all the bases, but I’d swap the Seiko for a blue gilt Baltic Aquascaphe. And you’d even save a few bucks.
I tried the aqua terra on yesterday and loved the case ... but the bracelet was way to short for me.
For me the anaordian and zodiac really stood out. Does that mean I'm a hipster? I do have the beard for it 😂. Great work putting this list together, you can tell it took a while to do.
I have a few zodiacs and an anordain… and a beard. I guess I’m a hipster too?!
@@cflynn2726 haha, hipster ftw
Zodiac makes some really cool stuff. I just got the Liberty London watch with the purple minute track, second hand, and bezel triangle. I absolutely love the thing! And though I may be a bit of a whiskey and beer snob, I definitely think I stop short of full “hipster”. So feel free to splurge on that neon GMT!
@@Chris-mm5gi ooh, purple sounds really nice. I'll have to take a look at that.
I have the blue topper edition Seawolf and would never call myself a hipster
Love these series. Could you please do a video on motorcycling inspired watches or famous watches related to motorcycling or just watches for motorcyclists in general? As a biker, I am really curious
I find the BB36 to be perfect for motorcycling. Soooo legible. Any snowflake handset works well. What do you use?
@@drzaius844 I don't have anything specific right now. My motorcycle is my primary mode of commute so can't just reserve one watch for it or I will just be wearing that one watch most of the year. But I think the Longines avigation a7 1935 would be a cool one, particularly if you are riding a classic like a bonnie, enfield etc. And I love classic motorcycles.
One thing for motorcyclists to keep in mind is to wear a watch that is resistant to potentially getting knocked out of spec or damaged due to vibration through the handlebars. Some bikes purr, other bikes thump, but all bikes vibrate. It would be an absolute shame to have a beautiful timepiece ruined by this. A watch's water resistance is also important if you suddenly get caught in rain.
It also depends on what kind of gear you are wearing. I always ride fully geared up so my wrists are always covered but I still want a nice watch when I'm off the bike. In my case my watch choice is dictated by which watches will fit comfortably under the cuff of my favourite gloves (Klim Induction) as they slightly overlap the wrists. In my case I usually go with my Black Bay 41 or Traska Summiteer (aka my poor man's Explorer).
I’ve got a Hamilton Khaki King automatic that I like to use for motorcycle touring. Its field watch style is highly legible at a glance (including good lume for reading it in the tent at night), and the day display is super helpful on a longer trip because I tend to forget what day it is. And it’s not so expensive that I’ll be crushed if something happens to it. (For the smaller-wristed, a Seiko SNK is an obvious choice.)
For day to day riding and commuting I tend to favor an aviation-style watch. But I’ll wear whatever I’m in the mood for.
@@markbock3027 yes that's a good choice. field watches do make for the best motorcycling companion. That or a G-Shock with illumination to help you read time in the dark.
I have the aqua terra in blue and 38mm. Its amazing
Love the green Oris Aquis.
Teddy, I was wondering what watch you were wearing in this video? I was trying to guess, but couldn't. :)
I feel the Tudor chronograph would look better with out the date window. I would really love if Tudor brought back the Big or the Tiger. I even like the Ball Engineer chronograph hydrocarbon. Michael Caine is also a fan of that Watch
Dude you’re the best watch guy on RUclips. For sure.
I'm the two-piece guy. I think I've nailed it with a NOMOS Tangente 38, and a Tudor Black Bay 58 (blue)
True watch connoisseur's choice 👏
Well, I'm 40% for the check all the boxes persona, I have the hydroconquest and an Orient (kamasu, but close enough).
Now to get the rest.
Hi Teddy, can you share how to build a collection with different budget for ladies watch? It’s not necessary for “women watch” but for smaller wrist. I found a lot of the watches you recommended are great but too big to me.
Would you consider making a video about the brief presence of Oakley watches?
