I completely agree. This guy should teach auto shop classes or have his own TV show..... awesome job of explaining how to install this cold air intake kit.
What an awesome instructional video!! Clear video along with great concise instructions!! I wish all installation videos were like this. GREAT JOB GUYS!!
Good video as usual..personally I would only install one if I were to either port/polish the throttle body, or add a large mm throttle body, a Tune/Programer, & a full custom exhaust system to go along with it
I agree.....one item alone doesnt make a lot of power changes but when combined with other mods....thats when things start to happen. Thanks for checking the video out.
That was literally the best how to video I've ever seen, damn good job! The only question I have is the CAI worth it, and if so do you recommend a MOPAR for a Chrysler 300 5.7 or another brand?
Such great instructions. Very thorough and well communicated. I’m installing the same kit on my 2018 Challenger 5.7 RT tomorrow. Do these instructions translate to the Challenger as well?
I dont see where there would be much difference. The concept will be the same none the less. Havent done a Challenger yet but I feel if you follow this video then you shouldnt have any issues. Thanks for watching and for the question. Make sure to subscribe

Its one of those items that I would have to see dyno numbers before and after. Im sure that the 7-10 horsepower increase will be hard to notice by most. Your welcome and thanks for your opinion as well Steve
Great instructions! However, what have you seen or heard from other customers with other brands intakes? warranty issues? power increase? Better for anti- hydlock design? Afe vs Mopar
Don't have a 5.7, I'm in that 3.6 gang, but this video helped a lot with a few things, mainly the grommet with the metal insert. Took me way too long to figure that out.
Another concise helpful video. Is there a Mopar CAI for 2005 5.7 Hemi Dodge Magnum? Btw, ur Geno's oil change tool for blocking leakage from filter when changing oil on my wife's 2014 RAM 2500 Cummins is excellent.
Evening Greg....they sure do make one. Here is a link to it: www.jegs.com/i/Mopar-Performance/312/77060003AC/10002/-1 . That tool from Geno's certainly is a must have. I dont see doing that oil change without one. If your going to change the oil and filter on a late model Ram 6.7 diesel.....you need this! Thanks again Greg for watching and for the comment.
First time listen listen to your RUclips channel I might recommend putting them put in the Mopar on my 2018 Chrysler 300s K&N but the lady at the Chrysler Dodge dealership told me it void the warranty if I buy a Mopar cold air intake and install it myself if they don't
If your installing the Mopar kit then it doesnt matter who installs it. Its about it being a Mopar kit that matters. Its designed to work with the vehicle so it wont cause any issues. Pay no attention to that lady that told you that.

Best thing to do is contact your local Dodge dealership and let them look up the part number and get a price.....then google the part number online and see who sells it for the best price. I found a left over 2015 new 300 with the 5.7 HEMI. I would like to know if there are an faults with this engine. On another video I watched about the same Mopar CAI kit & installation, it was suggested that during install the IAT sensor must be positioned vertically inside the tube so that the plastic mold that contains the sensor does not block the airflow across the sensor tip itself. Is this suggestion accurate?
Same thought comes to my mind as well. Seems most people do it for the eye candy.....not sure if there is any noticable power increase when adding it. Thanks for watching Bobby and make sure to subscribe.
I'm sure there are some differences. I havent had the chance to install one in a Durango as of yet but I am curious being that I am in the market for an RT myself. I believe that if you follow the steps....you will have a good quide plus the instructions that they give are very detailed. Thanks for the comment about the video and make sure to subscribe
Thank you for nice video. Is there any effect for this part on the car performance? Like horse power, or what is the effect in general on 5.7 himi Thanks
Mopar states 20% increase in airflow, 10 more lbs of torque and 10 more horsepower as well. Also it states 1-2 more miles per gallon in fuel economy. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe
MotorCity Mechanic just installed mopar cold air intake on my 14 charger rt. Is it normal for a whistling sound to occur while driving? It is extremely noticeable when I'm ast a red light.
Hey man, you're a mechanic, and a trustworthy one, I just want your opinion if you think the Mopar CAI's are better than K&N's CAI's, or if it really doesn't matter..?
Watching this video got me to thinking about my personal experience regarding gas mileage; (Dodge Ram 1500 4wd 2012 Laramie Longhorn) during the cooler months (Southwest Florida) my, MPG avg increases noticeably compared to the remainder of the year with hot weather. Your thoughts or advice, if any for cooler engine/performance? Thanks, David... Brooks
Thanks for a very informative video. I just bought a 2018 Charger Daytona 5.7. I was kind of scratching my head when I saw the open air box with a rubber seal that appeared to contact the hood insulation pad? This seems a bit Mickey Mouse and you show people are paying $400 for this kit. Is the system any good or does it just supposed to look cool?
Thanks for subscribing. I havent had any dealings with the tazer. I deal only with stock vehicles everyday and never get to see what works best as far as mods. I am curious but its nothing I have come across yet.
Awesome video with minute details! Subscribed. Time to buy the Mopar CAI for my 17' Charger R/T. Do you happen to have video with the exhaust sound difference before and after?
Great feedback about the video. Appreciate you having subscribed. I dont have a video about the sound from the exhaust. I wouldnt expect any real difference in the sound at the exhaust except for the sound under the hood related to the filter.
Great video, too bad that airbox doesn't actually seal to the hood. And why in the hell does Mopar leave that big chunk cut out on the top edge??? That opening needs to be filled in and the seal needs to be talk enough to actually contact the hood and seal instead of the two section about an inch long where it makes contact. Put some grease on the top of that seal, close the hood on it and the check to see where there is grease on the hood. You'll be shocked.
I too have my thoughts about this set up. In most cases is eye candy to people and that’s what they want. They buy....install lol (hence the video). Thanks for the comment and for watching. Make sure to subscribe
What are somethings I can do to get more mpg in my 2014 challenger rt ? I know about the driving more conservative and tire psi. Cold intake is great for responsiveness . But what are some aftermarket thing I can do to one utilize the stock 378 hp and save money on my gas.
I dont see there being a noticeable difference on power other then the sound and it being a washable filter. Once you add other items like exhaust and possibly some tuning.....it could certainly play a part. Thanks for the question and for watching. Make sure to subscribe!
I bought a kit my question is, before installing do I have to disinstall the battery , 2 if after installed do I need to do any changes in the computer of the car or any updates . Thank you
Nothing needs to be done other then just installing it. No need to touch the battery and nothing computer related. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
One question I have is my 2016 challenger rt has a resonator on the intake. Will this affect the car at all? I purchased the Mopar CAI and it doesn't have anything mentioning this.
The resonators on the stock inlet are for noise reduction. Otherwise it wont cause any issues what so ever. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Make sure to subscribe
I dont know for sure. I recommend contacting your local Dodge dealer and speak with someone in parts. Give them your VIN number and then let them double check to see what the part number should be. Thanks for watching and for asking. Make sure to subscribe.
I havent yet but would like to. Just havent had one come in for that install yet. But if I do....you can bet that I will film it for sure. Make sure to subscribe if you havent already!
For the install itself as far as safety....no. To do it so that the add on part might add some horsepower by causing the PCM memory to reset to try and adjust for the cold air intake....it most likely wont make any difference. Its up to you and wont hurt anything if you so desire. Thanks for watching and makes sure to subscribe
Great video I have a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland hemi engine do you know if mopar makes that system for my truck can you provide me the part number and which exhaust you recommend for my truck and thank you .
MotorCity Mechanic awsome..i want to get straight to the point i watched the video very helpful and read the comments...my question is cleaning the TB have the car in the off postion, clean it, reinstall everything and it should be good? No throttle relearn no hi and low rpm? Also do i need to disconnect the battery terminal? I ask ive done this before on a 2010 tahoe and opened the TB plate manually cleaned it with the truc off reinstalled everything and at start up and revved to 3k..i had to get it reprogrammed and it still took 2 days of stop and go driving to set bac to normal.
I have never had an issue with a chrysler branded vehicle with cleaning in on the engine....key off. No need to disconnect the battery cables. As mentioned in the cleaning video....it might take a couple tries to get it running until the cleaner thats in the intake is burnt off but afterwards it will run fine.
I am having a lot of issues getting the air filter to slide on to the filter adapter. They seem to be the same size so it is hard to push the air filter on. Any advice.
It can be tight. Some lube helps and using a flat tip screw driver to work it around. I know it sounds easy when I say it but I know it can be a struggle. Its all about that tight fit.
Give me some feedback on this cuz the lady at the Dodge Chrysler Place told me if void my warranty if I get somebody else to put my Mopar cold air intake in my Chrysler 300 but if she do it they do it in the service department it don't void the warranty I think that's a lie
I've been looking for a cold air intake for my 2015 Ram Big Horn, in the video you say this will fit but when I go to the link the part # is not there.
The one in the video will be for a car....the Ram truck has the filter on the opposite side so it will need a different kit. I believe the kit you need is: moparonlineparts.com/1500-cold-intake-p-4171.html . To be 100% sure...contact your local Dodge dealer and speak with someone in parts to see what is the exact part number you need for your VIN. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe
I put a 180 thermostat on my charger and was curious. Is there a way to adjust the fan cut on Temps without an expensive tool like the Diablo? I don't wanna 93 tune or anything. Just want my hemi to run cooler. Thanks in advance.
I have to be honest....I didnt even know they offered the hellcat conversion until you mentioned it. It didnt make mention that the headlights has to have the removable center section inorder for it to work. Not sure how it looks under the hood when installed. Certainly would be a cool install.
I would have to assume any metal air inlet pipe under the hood would capture some underhood heat. Not sure . I see that K&N makes a composite and a metal tube versions. Not too sure what the major difference would be being that the air is going thru the tube so fast already.

MotorCity Mechanic thanx for the reply man appreciate you got a subscriber here!
Your welcome and many thanks!
Hey boss what’s the part number for that plastic plug for the air box. do I need it?
I put a 180 thermostat on my charger and was curious. Is there a way to adjust the fan cut on Temps without an expensive tool like the Diablo? I don't wanna 93 tune or anything. Just want my hemi to run cooler. Thanks in advance.
The temp control for the fan is all software and nothing that I know of to change that.
Dave do you recommend Mopar cai or their hellcat conversion kit on the 5.7 hemi?
I have to be honest....I didnt even know they offered the hellcat conversion until you mentioned it. It didnt make mention that the headlights has to have the removable center section inorder for it to work. Not sure how it looks under the hood when installed. Certainly would be a cool install.
Does the kit come with the aluminum tube?
does the actual tube get Hot ?? i hear it really does alot compared to the K& N
I would have to assume any metal air inlet pipe under the hood would capture some underhood heat. Not sure . I see that K&N makes a composite and a metal tube versions. Not too sure what the major difference would be being that the air is going thru the tube so fast already.
Do you have to clock the ait sensor in a certain position.
+jedi barracuda The instructions say no. I was wondering as well at first and then checked more into it.
