It’a nice to see a video with positive news about intakes for a change! My personal experience is with a K&N typhoon intake which I now have on my 2014 Chrysler 300C with the 3.6L V-6. This intake made a huge difference in throttle response , power, and reduced my 0-60 time by 3 tenths. BTW, this was without any exhaust mods, everything else was stock, so I dispute the claims that intakes don’t work unless paired with a performance exhaust, just my personal experience. Also, the air temperature thing is overblown, my car runs strong in summer and winter, and I tested the stock system for one month against the K&N, and there was NO comparison as far as performance, the K&N typhoon won hands down!
Been watching this video back to back since last year trying to decide what cold air intake I wanted. This video was very helpful and I literally just finished installing and test driving my 300C. I appreciate you guys for doing this video!
Nice video Ryan I just ordered mine today,I been debating on which one to upgrade too but your pop drives like me so if he is happy I know I will be Lol
look into upgrading your throttle body and get more power. Jet or BBK make good performance throttle bodies. I will be doing that on my 2012 Dodge Durango Citadel next month.
Good vid man. Right to the point, good explanation. Thanks for sharing. Also, If you don't have a magnetic tray I'd go grab one instead of using a plastic bag tho. 😁
Word they did a great review I just bought this and a pedal box for my 18 rt charger.. I cant wait I'm starting youtube lol sub to my channel chilledb5
I have the same cold air intake on a 5.7 Hemi My CAI Keeps coming loose the middle tube gets loose from the throttle body and air filter housing any tips I tighten the clamps as hard and still the clamps come loose The
U shouldn’t have change it. That made what’s on their for a reason. If any if get a hellcat air box or leave it stock and do a K&N air filter bro. The sir box that’s stock is made for the car. It’s not made for cold air. The warm air make the oil burn smoother. That’s like an athlete. If my body is cold and not loose. I’m gonna pull a muscle. Cars need the heat. Just like our bodies have to sweat of toxins. If it was cold all the time that’s not good. Similar to cars. If u do cold air intake then change the whole exhaust and add headers and do a tune but is it really worth it?
Do you the know the temperature of the intake. Bc I just got mine installed and the air intake temperature ranges to 155-160 which seems kind of high. Just wondering
if it's an open intake and not boxed in all your doing is sucking in hot air. my factory intake on my 392 only reads about 8 degrees more than the outside temp
The IAT sensor is $20 - $25, breaking them is definitely inconvenient because your engine won't run or will run like shit without one, but it's not gonna make you go broke having to replace it lol
Air intake is gonna be my third mod to my 2012 Charger RT Police. Got an SLP loudmouth exhaust and Diablo i3 tuner so far. After an intake I’m gonna be cranking 450-470 HP after that. Then I’m gonna slap in some new spark plugs.
Jack Petteys stock 363hp right? Just an exhaust and tune + the cai is that much power are you sure? (Not doubting thats just a lot) i just got a flowmaster flowfx on my 300c hemi, next is the CAI and eventually a tune so im wondering
No way in hell you'll be adding that much HP with just an exhaust and tune? Tf you smoking on bro lol really just with an intake you'll be adding 470hp no mames guey bro with a pro charger you'll be adding almost 130hp more that's with 10k$+ now you saying with what you did it's only maybe 2k to 3k in mobs pushing over 100hp smh
@@RyanBishop nice video on cold air intake, I left my cats on but, had the mid mufflers deleted, and left the resonators on, not giving me what I wanted, going to have the res's deleted as well. I want the pop in the sound.
Yes it does, depending on what cold air intake you buy. My friend recently got an SXT 2016 which was 292 of HP but the intake would take it to 300 something 320-30 not too sure. Also, the exhaust adds as well.
Potentially. I recommend the k&n filter but the intake tube can be whatever it's just a pipe. To really it horsepower out you should get your car tuned after installation. Also even if you can get more air into the engine that doesn't mean your engine can use it. Especially if your muffler doesn't allow it to flow so a muffler upgrade with a cold air intake really would get your hp up
Few questions if I do this upgrade do I need to reprogram anything or retune ? Does it suck more gas since it’s forcing in more air. And after install would you have to retune, or reprogram anything (Running a 2014 Dodge Charger 100th anniversary 5.7L hemi with whatever racing specs it had on it originally. Plus a pedal commander) Please notify me on here or inbox please and thanks
xXxsightsxXx it increases horsepower by getting more air to the engine therefore needing more fuel but when you are cruising and not on it all the time then it saves because the engine is able to breathe better. No tune needed.
If you want the full capabilities of ANY ENGINE MOD,...a tuning is 100% necessary. Slapping a cold air intake may give you 5hp if your lucky,...now getting it dyno tuned after the cold air intake will make that intake give you close to 20hp
New channel friend, thumbs up with a bell. Your video was cool. Nice job! Did one of these on my Chally a few years ago. Stop by and show us some love! Thanks! Mike
What is the intake temperature when sitting at the ligh? I had a K&N and took it out the same day cause it let heat in, I would jump to 155 to 165 so quickly, I have a corsa intake now but I think I wat something different.
He gained nothing across power band, thats obvious. Those peak numbers are published for marketing only, and have nothing to do with performance gains.
No issues at all for me, and I've had it since 2012 for my '12 Challenger R/T. You may have an air leak. Also, I recommend checking if the grommet from the air temp sensor is cracked.
Replacing stock intake with this crap is a dumb move my friend. Stock air inlet has a quite big reserve of air flow, and has been well optimized to lower air temps. If you could please post your quarter mile times before and after install, that would be a valuable info.
So what you saying is or not a good item to added to cars ??? Cuzz seems like you know better this kind of thing n I wanna make sure I don't fucked up my Chrysler 300/19 ??
@@oOOooz33 It is pointless in Modern Mopars. Stock setup is more than enough. Please mind that 5.7 has the same intake as 6.4, so it is more than enough. Secondly K&N crap only grabs hot ait mixed with dust. Filtration level could cause damage of your engine.

AKOO86 glad we could help!!
Which one do you have
Pops is hilarious!🤙🏽 Good stuff, Uce
Im gonna get this for my 2018 charger pursuit awd hemi, so far i only cut off the center muffs and left the rear resonators

We put a throttle body spacer and it helped a little bit. It was a poor design the way it slips off but its not terrible
between the weather and that neighborhood...looks like your in san Diego
May I know more details for this air tank I am planning to buy for Dodge Charger SRT 2014 model
part number 352-318
Sounds great going get one👍

no worries brother please leave some feedback on my channel new to this whole youtube life.
I don’t want my Charger obnoxiously loud is this to loud?

does this have exhaust? or is this literally from the intake
bigpzone i do believe the tone of your exhaust will always change with an air intake forsure! But its a mid muffler & resonator delete!
I'm in the I.E also Moreno valley
My check engine light came on and Challenger won't start any more.
Thats too bad
Good for air hoods? I wanna get it
ARMED5.7HEMI I recommend it! Looks good and would work wel
Do U have part number want to see if carid has it so I can start ordering
I just blew mine up. Blew a fat chunk out the bottom side smh.
Which AirAid is this one? I’m trying to purchase one now
That shit made me laugh u shoulda spit on it 😂
I just put my cold intake on a vehicle I'm slowly working different brand
What are the air intake temps sitting in traffic?
AVG Joes Garage its all normal doesnt seem to go past where it goes when it was stock
Good deal
Brother i have a 06 jeep commander wit a 5.7 do you think its safe for me to do with a ebay intake? Im poor but like to go fast lol😂

brother did you break that little stupid tab on the sensor? my og one broke so it fit right but a new one and the tab wont let it go in
