I have long looked at Aprilia as the motorcycle brand with the most aggressive sounds and today we are testing to see how they ride! I'm throwing a leg over a used 2018 Tuono V4 from Mountain Motorsports to see how they ride. This Tuono is in a very competitive segment so it has a lot to live up to. Let's see how it goes.

Aprilia be like: "Sports? Race? Track? Whatever you want bro we got you."
Me: "I just wanna do the speed limit bro."
Aprilia:"I'm just gonna pretend I didn't hear that. Track it is."
There is Pit mode which limits your top speed to where you set it (I think it defaults to 30 mph or there about) and cruise control also
@@windyrun7979 and if you get out of 1st it turns off to lol
ahahahahaha
hahaha
Its sport, road, and track
Sport and road reduce torque in first 3 gears...
Finally an Aprilia!
I’m about to say the same thing ! 🔥
My4 Factory V4 tries to kill me, while saving my ass at the same time because of the electronics. And I LOVE IT
I bought one of these as my second bike after only a year of riding. The bike humbles you instantly. If you respect the bike, the bike will treat you well. That has been my experience! I agree 100% with your review, Chase! PS I got mine new for 13,500$ Canadian 😉 best value in its class.
Got mine yesterday 2019 $13895 cdn 😉
Lol same thing for me. Trying to be as responsible as possible
I think Aprilia is one of the more under appreciated bikes out there when compared to Ducati. I think that Aprilia sounds more raspy and has a more identifiable sound to it that other bikes don't have
Aprilias have much more character
The sound check had me laughing.
I really like this format you've come up with, Chase!
🤣
This was my and still is my first liter bike, I love it so much😩
Yup! makes me appreciate mine too :))))
@@frenchonion4595 about 2 years now
1- Sport, Race and Track modes have all the same power, only engine brake makes the difference.
2- If you need a "rain mode" just increase ABS and Traction Control.
3- ALC means Aprilia Launch Control.
4- Pit function is for pit limiter.
I have been riding a 2012 Tuono for about 5 years now. I love it. Such an amazing machine.
high quality production! love this channel. getting a jay lenos garage vibe from these videos!
Finally! I wondered if chase would ever test ride an aprilia let alone the Tuono!!😂
I have a 2007 Aprilia Tuono and love it. It has the V Twin instead of the V4. Great sounding bike.
I have a 2003 V2 and 2012 V4 Tuono in my garage. Aprilia 4 life!
I came very close to buying a new 2020 from Motoclub in CA and his prices blew everyone away even with shipping. But I came across a 2017 FZ10 with 41 miles and lots of mods for a song and jumped on it! I was weary of dealing with Aprilia service and I’m in NC. I called 3 different dealers, two had different maintenance quotes and one never emailed me back. These Tuonos are phenomenal bikes, too bad about dealers.
Race mode is my favorite. Smooth and precise power delivery and minimum engine braking. All modes give you the same power. Difference is how abrupt and degree of engine braking (sport then track then race for the smoothest). None of the modes are "poodling around" though.
PIT mode is when your at the track and entering or leaving the PIT area. It limits your speed to the set speed limit which is adjustable to whatever racetrack your at.
Don't be scared! If you want to take it easy on this bike... you can! I owned 8 bikes so far and currently riding super duke 1290r and Tuono Factory v4 1100
I bought a 2020 tuono factory v4 as my first bike, no experience except my brother's older cbr 6 months prior, very forgiving, it's not an expert only bike, i bought it as my daily commuter,
Finally Rsv4 I’ve been waiting for decades 🔥
Finally! enjoy. i have the 2018 factory, glorious bike.
oc Yes the Tuono wants to be ridden and not a fan of in town bumper to bumper traffic. Those shift lights need to be slightly adjusted. ALC (Aprilia Launch Control)
loved this first ride. the rsv4 was always my dream bike and got one last year, its truly the most brutal but elegant machine I've ever ridden and I wouldn't change it for anything else. She's a keeper though I wouldn't mind having some of the electronics sometimes, all I got is a race
ECU and 3 throttle modes but that also just makes it even more exciting.. and dangerous :P
Ah yes babyyyy!!! Now you just gotta do a first ride on a Triumph Speed Triple. Id love too see it happen.
Having owned a v4r in the past I wish Aprilia would make a sport touring version using that delicious v4. It's the best sounding motorbike engine out there imo.
They did make one for this year’
Got a 2018 tuono factory it’s absolutely mental what a amazing bike 😊😍
Have a 2018 Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory & I definitely agree that this is a bike made to be ridden hard, very hard. That said it’s by far the best bike I’ve ever ridden, never do I dismount without a mega smile 😀 Lastly your incorrect regarding the bikes temperature output, come summertime and city riding it’s common to see 215-220 temps at stoplights however the fan kicks in @ temps don’t go much higher if they increase at all. Once your moving again temps drop dramatically.
I bought a 2019, I love it… though I agree the main menu toggle button feels very cheap especially for something so important… the traction control paddles, quick shifter, and brembos are absolutely necessary.
Since you now have the WBRG team can we get some first rides on cruisers as their is no one on RUclips doing this level of production quality on cruiser reviews/ first impression plus I think we all know by now that Bow likes the cruiser scene
OC: I tend to enjoy motorcycles that have a bit of both. Refined but raw when you want it to be.
Just received my 2021 tuono v4 factory couple of days ago. Great bike, easy to ride and loads of power :)
US or Europe?
@@rudolphcarr Europe
@@xRever95 sick bro, congrats. Can’t wait to see one state side.
Having ridden the 2020 I disagree with Chase. Tuono is super easy to ride. Ya it’s got big power but it’s so linear and smooth, you can ride it however you want. Bike is straight flames, close to flawless IMO.
@@frenchonion4595 Agreed haha. Do you have a fav reviewer?
Man, that bike is a beauty and at the same time scary. I would love to try to ride that bike.
I would love to see a first ride on an Aprilia RSV4 if you can get your hands on one.
He can for sure ride mine if he wants!
@@MegaTechpc That would be perfect if you can get in touch with him
@@MegaTechpc let me ride it! (Jk, I got an old rsv1000 in my garage tho)
Yeah i got an RSV4 to but i'm guessing everyone of us wanting him to ride it has one 🤣
@@vascoyz800 True but it would still be cool cuz I'm not sure that Chase has ever ridden one before on his channel. I know the only Aprilia dealer in GA is in Savannah which is a good ways from Chase.
Best bike you will ever ride!
This is what I'm getting if I ever get tired of my MT-07.
Get ready to spend almost triple the money 😂😂😂😂
they got it right ten years ago. i love mine. also, you have to be well rested and have a few espresso's first.
The best sounding motorcycle ever.
Beautiful shots man, I got this bike a month ago.
I never take my FZ09 out of A mode, and am hoping to add a harder bike to the stable, but I'm hesitant to commit to a full sportbike tuck for the hour+ it takes to get to the roads by me. I think the Tuono might be my answer. If only the graphics were as good as the RSV4
A friend of mine bought one. He let 4 people ride it. All of them now have the same bike! Go to a track chase!
Just a heads up on the modes. All three modes have the same power. The difference between the modes is the throttle response. Just FYI.
Yes thats right and,
Sport = Lower throttle response, High engine braking
Race = High throttle response, High engine braking
Track = High throttle response, Lower engine braking
Which did you like better? 1290 or tuono?
Absolutely crazy bike i would definitely get one if i could afford it , for sure an exotic dream bike
Chase needs to do more track days, and really LEARN.
OC: I couldn't have a bike like this as my only bike because, like you mentioned, a daily ride needs to be good at low speed stuff. As a weekend blaster to keep your t levels up, it's a winner. Rode an RSV4 with a full exhaust and it was awesome, but suuucked around town.
Chase, while riding on a highway that’s he’s probably logged thousands of miles on: What’s the speed limit, 70-something? 13:40 😂😂😂
Great video. I had a '18 Tuono RR and I miss it dearly. Other than it not being happy in traffic, it was an awesome motorcycle. It felt significantly more stable at speed than a Streetfighter V4 and took some effort to turn vs the SFV4 but it was really confidence-inspiring. You should have tried the launch control (ALC). Really works well.
Own a 2020 Tuono Factory. From 2017-2020 the 3 rider modes are all "full power" modes. The ONLY thing that changes with the modes is the amount of engine braking, with Sport Mode having the most, to Race Mode having the least. I keep mine in Track Mode at all times as it feels less jerky than Sport but still has some engine braking. If it's raining just increase the traction control (which you can do on the fly with the + and - paddle buttons.)
Difference isn't only engine braking
The manual says Track has lowest engine braking , High throttle response
Race has High engine braking, High throttle response
Sport has High engine braking, Lowest throttle response
Track might feel smoother because less engine braking makes on/off throttle less abrupt.
@@wradford1 engine braking vs throttle response, two different things. Who doesn't feel the difference in the modes is basically dead
Finally I know how to change my rider modes 🤣
Very good. Review🤘🔥 love Tuono v4r 🔥brutal Streetfighter🤙
It is raining too while watching this😁😁
Same
homie could not even guess ALC for aprillia launch control .
Sometimes it’s not that obvious he’s prolly mad happy n focused on ridin
I have 2011 aprc and on my bike modes are sport, road, track, i believe here is the same thing, s and r reduce torqe in first 3 gears and track is madness
OC: Like a bike I can control even though I can't control myself...
It’s about the sound!
the modes really... don't do much, tbh. Apparently it changes the amount of engine braking you have? I never noticed a difference. I went from an EBR 1190RX to a Tuono V4 rr. I was looking for something more calm...
I didn't find it in the tuono, but it's a hell of a bike!
Hey chase, the modes are all the same power, they just vary in engine breaking.
Just met someone with a Tuono it's a dope bike
Best beginner bike EVER ! 😈
What did you prefer, this or the mv dragster 800rr?
I am waiting for rs 660 ride sooooo muuuch!
OC: I'm a fan of a bike with rider modes. Especially if there is a distinct difference between the modes. I'm also a big fan of Aprilia. Which is why I'm getting a RS 660. But yes the Tuono V4 is basically a mini fairing RSV4. And damn 14k for what you're getting is pretty much stealing it cuz the bike is so good.
OC: I have a 2019 690 SMC R and a XR650R SM (among other bikes). Even though the 690 has more power and is more refined, I like my XR WAY more and take it out 3 to 1 over the KTM. Power just isn't the end all be all for me.
Aprilia for the win
I want the Tuono 660 then I’m getting this after I’m confident enough on the 660.
So i google map searched mountain motorsports in Roswell out of curiousity and I just saw Brian and Luke on the parking lot getting the follow car ready :p Picture is from 2019. Thats funny man xd
Ride the streetfighter v4
That’s One Spicy Meatball. That is a Street Legal Racebike.
Can you do a first ride on an RS660 please?
I like TC and WC and being able the adjust them but I don't need power modes. aprillia just has throttle modes where the throttle is more or less sensitive. I like that approach much better than power modes. If you cant control the throttle you shouldn't have bought the bike.
To be honest aprillia makes premium Maniacs out of their factory.
I have one. Best bike I ever owned!
Oh, the ride modes... Sport is the most abrupt and aggressive, and Race is the smoothest and most tame. Aprilia thinks like a racer. Smooth, is fast. It's backwards from how other manufacturers approach things...
Also, the paddles on the left pod, allow you to adjust traction on the fly, on the gas... No having to cut throttle or hit the clutch for the change to take place... just dial in more or less, mod turn on the gas if you want...
What a damn looking bike!
"I'm here for it!"
Lol funny how you haven't researched about the bike at all and just guessing. But i love your reviews. I just got one yesterday. A 2019. So riding modes do not change the power. They all have the same power. They change the engine breaking. Street full, race medium and track low or none i belive. Could be vice versa between race and track. And it has brembo m50's front, brembo master cylinder and brembo in the back. It's literally the perfect bike all around to do anything
No rain mode becouse you can change tc on the fly. 7 and 8 are meant for riding in the raind as modes doesn t change power output!!
Can you do the new Mt07 or Mt09
Also cafe racers?
Please review the RS660
Best bike ever
That sound.
PIT: pit limiter
ALC: Launch Control
All of the riding modes deliver full power, but race is the smoothest with the least engine braking.
Rain mode is basically TC at level 8.
Bren Tuning is garbage btw, lol.
Throttle is fly-by-wire
Is there a backseat cover? Would be way nicer if it did.
Why this one doesnt have the SOLO SEAT? That the Factory has...?
Damn what a bike
Wait what?? First ride? What have you been doing all those years??
Btw alc is launch control. And oh my Lanta its a good time
OC i dont want a bike with modes at all the less electronics the better (thats probably why im still riding a 2002 GSX1400 ) :D
can you try and get a first ride on an RSV4 1100 Factory?
beautiful machine 🤩
How is it compared to the ZX10R that you built ?
Sexxxy Aprilia RR!!
Can we kill bar end mirrors with fire?
OC - You didn't check out the pit lane limiter and launch control, it is a race bike, lol
I actually hate the wheelie control on mine, it's wayyy too intrusive! Even on lv1 the display doesn't stop flashing at you and it's constantly cutting power. I turned it off right after I got the bike and haven't turned it back on since.
Crazy fun.
Can you do Aprilia Shiver 750 ? Hellloooo from Croatia
OC - Nah I want modes. I love this bike but I don't think it's on the table for years to come, if ever.
Hi man! What's your height?
Casually browsing craigslist while watching this video... See the Tuono from Montain's ad. lol. $16k. Not bad.
Anyone know if the 2017+ Tuonos are reliable or have a systemic problem? I’ve heard horror stories of valve springs & exhaust valve guides?
apparently fixed in 2017+ models. finally did my valve check at 13800 miles and they were perfectly within spec, i’ve had no issues.
Does 160mph,Whats the speed limit? 70? oh lets drop it down. LMAO
how did anyone evr looked at bikes with round barend mirrors and went "yeah, that looks cool"?
