@Richard Hart Good question. I think it depends on the rider. The Streetfighter V4 is my 18th bike, so it’s hard to have an unbiased opinion about newer riders. It’s very manageable under 7500 rpm but above 10k it’s a total beast. I think the torque delivery at normal speeds is actually somewhat muted compared to old school liter bikes like the K5 gixxer or early R1’s.
The electronics are fantastic, so a rider with a good mentality and a couple years of riding experience would probably have no issues in street mode or perhaps sport mode in the default ride control settings provided they keep it out of the top revs especially on a tight twisty back road.
All that said, if it were a second bike, I’d probably recommend an Aprilia RS660 or new monster instead.

Best purchase I have ever made…2022 V4S picked it up a little over a week ago. Did 230 spirited miles a couple days ago and it was simply amazing. Been riding since the early 1980’s. I haven't owned mine for a long time yet. In fact, it hasn't even arrived. But I did just place an order for the 2023 SFV4S with my local Ducati dealer after a test ride. I traded my 2021 Monster Plus for it.
Difference here is this: When I ordered the Monster during the height of the pandemic, I was fine waiting a whole 2 months for it to arrive. I just placed my order 5 days ago for the SFV4S, and memories of the test ride keep coming into my head. I can't contain my excitement. It's one of those "this changed you" kind of memories. There's just something so addictive about it. Can't describe it too well.

6,000 miles on my 21Dark Stealth S.F. since end of January. My every day transportation. Akra full system with MAP and low restriction air installed prior too delivery. Came ALIVE around 3,000 miles. This bike , being flat black, is a factory sleeper, especially with the cylinder deactivation @ an idle, so quiet. NO displacement shown like my 1299S Panigale adds to the sleeper effect. I'm always in race mode except while it's raining. When this bike hooks up, hot tires and pavement, pulls the front wheel at 130 shifting into 4th is a bit intimidating, especially too the vehicle your passing ! I ride my bikes and cars HARD and over maintain them. NEVER enough horsepower.. Like you found out, at high speeds, 150 - 180+, the wind wants too separate you from the bike. I prefer my 1299 at these high speeds. One complaint 75- 85 miles to a tank of fuel. Unbeaten on the street and constantly challenged !! By the way, I'm 72 and 175 lb. pretty good power to weight ratio. TRY too ride safe guys ..

I just couldn't stay off of it between the sound and feeling it gives when you crack that throttle open. I have had zero issues with the bike, only basic maintenance and I have run it hard!
My only real complaint with the bike is it eats rear tires, but that partially goes back to me constantly being hard on throttle. I think these Italian brands have come a long way with reliability.

Had my 2020 SF V4S for almost a year now. Loving it! Only real gripe is the fuel tank is a bit small. A spirited ride and you’re looking for gas at 70-80 miles. Can get annoying. Just put an UpMap on it to increase lower rev torque which cranks the full beans up to 11, especially in Race. Come back with a smile on my face after every ride. What more do you want from a bike!

Ducati Performance full Akra system, Ducati Performance Rearsets, Marchesani M10RS gold forged wheels, as well as a few Rizoma goodies. This bike is ABSOLUTE perfection! Did a 407 mile run last Saturday and I have absolutely no complaints.

  • @sleepindragon179

If its not going to be red, it has to be black.
Looks good in stealth colours, it tones down that busy heavy front end look. The styling is love it or hate it somewhat though.
I bet the performance is all there and hopefully easier to use on the street at low revs unlike its forebears.
With all that power I would either bin it or lose my licence. But what a way to do it.
Anyone remember when Chase borrowed a red Ducati and binned it? It was years ago for you newbies.

I own one myself, the style is unmatched. It's an amazing bike but you really have to re-learn how you ride a bike as the Ducati likes to live in the higher RPM's. I also own a Tuono. Anyone looking at a streetfighter, should also ride one of those as well. Prefer the Tuono myself since it has more low-end grunt for the streets.

Hey! Great Video. I love your enthusiasm. I've been riding for 30 years. I just bought the 1260s Diavel. Love it! I'm 5'5 and can flat foot. Here's the thing. I also want something to compliment it, sometimes I long for something not so heavy and more flickable . The SF has a 33" seat height, diavel is 30". I was wondering if this could be lowered slightly without messing up the ergonomics. I guess I can 1 foot it at stop lights. Let me know what you think. Or if there are other SF riders that are on the shorter side. Thanks in advance.

Beautiful bike. Not sure if you are aware but the 2021 Streetfighter is different from the 2020 version in that it is now Euro 5 compliant. Max torque is now 2000 rpm lower at 9500 rpm and it now revs 250 rpm higher. Both max power output and torque remain the same which is great considering the tighter restrictions. There were some complaints that the max torque on the 2020 model was too high in the rev range but now it should be much better at the new lower rpm. I must admit if I could afford one I would but obviously in classic Ducati red. Take care and ride safe.

    Subscribed 👍
I’m lucky enough to be buying one of these. The updated 2023 model in grey Nero. Arguably nicer than the all black. The stock exhaust looks right now with the grey accent. Won’t be changing a thing. The mirrors aren’t great for viewing but I can just drop an elbow 🤷‍♂️
It was between this and the Pani v4 but despite how much more comfortable the new Pani V4s are in comparison to other sports bikes… it’s still a sports bike and after a few hours you’ll be on fire, broken neck and shoulders, sore wrists. I’m a fit dude (me in my avatar) yet I’d struggle with Pani as a solo bike. It’s a track weapon only. IMO.
The only mod I might make is the heat shield… but most are saying it’s not needed on the SF, only the Pani. Your thoughts?
Touring be fine, you’ll need stop every 160km anyhow for fuel… I’d also need a piss at that stage 😂 never understood how people can stay 6 hours in the cockpit

Alright man. I got one. Over 10k RPM it's insane. Absolutely bonkers. Just ride it again and make it a goal to stick below 100mph and hit 12k rpm. It's so insane!!!! And then you can chill and coast to your local bar.

I’m so tempted with this bike, but the Hypermotard is giving me pause. Could half the power still be more fun? Some say it is so.

Why did you not take this bike up into the mountains? We wanted to see you drive this bike in the twisties, compared to the MT9 or triple rs.

OC, I kind of already own my dream bike, I just need to fully realize it through mods. I’ve always wanted a monster of a naked in-line 4 sport bike, preferably a kawi as I grew up on the back of my dads Z1. In highschool when the second gen Z1000 came out I used to drool on my computer screen in the library looking at it. Got a 2010 3rd gen with 3k miles on it a couple years ago. Full akra, Ivan’s tune and dynod at 148whp and 87wtq. Which means if I was a motorcycle manufacturer I might claim that as 160+hp and 95tq (lol)That’s more than enough to be a street monster, especially with short gears. Still going to do a cartridge kit, Penske shock, lighter wheels, and maybe brembos off a gsxr1000. Right now it weighs in the low 460s or maybe high 450s fully fueled by my math. With the mods I plan to do, and based off the forum posts I’ve read, fully realized it’ll be a 440something pound bike. Down from 480. Lowest recorded weight I’ve seen is 431 and that pushing stock zx6r numbers

OC: Chase I'm really impressed with the work you guys are putting in the edition in the videos, I can see how it gets better and better I want to congratulate the team for the hard work they are putting in. My dream bike is the new zx 10 rr, if only I knew how to ride hahaha I will settle with ninja 400 hopefully as first bike

The only big problem with owning a Ducati is there's not enough dealerships. Closest one to me is about 100 miles. Same goes for KTM, Aprilia and anything other than Japanese or HD. Test rode a Super Duke R, since there is a dealer close by. It's really good but not as good as Streetfighter V4s imo.

Hmmm I’m connected to 2 aprilia dealers and 3 Ducati dealers 🤔🤔🤔, could get a tuono factory but the 21’ face is smashed in 🤢, sat on the sfv4s and instantly felt like I was on my 03 RSV Mille, the build quality felt very premium and not cheap like the aprilia rs660, but I see a lot of guys buying this bike on ytube and riding around in 2nd gear the whole video… this bike is going straight to the track and of course commute a few times a week 🤷🏾‍♂️

OC: chase, the levers are adjustable through a small screw on their back 😬anyway… the Panigale V4 was my dream bike but having one for 2 years now I do agree that it’s quite uncomfortable for street ride and the SF would be a better and more comfortable choice.
