I think the heavier front end feeling comes from you balancing your weight a lot on your wrist. The front becomes very light and easily flickable if you use your leg muscles to hold up your weight. This was a big riding style change for me when I had this bike. It helped my riding technique a lot actually because of how aggressive it is and how much more you need your lower body to support your weight when in such a committed riding position.
OC: I'm looking at getting this as my next bike coming next year. Tax returns end on my current ninja, so there's "gotta" come a new one (). I have absolutely no real life use for this. And life is too short not to have experienced owning and riding something as beautiful as this. There, I just made up my mind. I'm getting a V2. Thanks Chase!
I got a V2 !! Since january haha. It does have a 'low power' mode for rain riding as you said you would want, but you gotta go into the settings and play around a little. For traction control it has 2 wet settings (one for track rain tyres and one for actual safe rain street riding) and in the engine setting it has a 'reduced power' setting next to the 'full power' and the option to set the throttle to 'smooth' or 'dynamic'. I'm setting my V2 up to be street=rain mode and sport=street. Maybe one day I'll get myself to go to a track hehe.

I visited my local Ducati dealer and sat on a V2 as well as a Hypermotard 950SP. I'm actually agonizing over which one to get because they both have pluses based on their configuration. As an 899 owner myself, the only thing the 899 is missing is the single sided swing-arm. Looks-wise, the middle and bottom fairings are the same, just the front fairing that's different on the V2. Aesthetically, I like the old front fairing better, it looks more timeless and less cyber-futuristic.
@@electric_boogaloo496 you can actually do the conversion to sssa on the 899 but it weighs a bit more than the factory one. But it's worth it for the looks.
@@Givelasagna AFAIK, the 1199 and the 899 had the same external engine dimensions and mounting points. 1199 -> 899 Swingarm swap was a bolt-on. Don't know if the dimensions/mounting points changed with the 1299 or the V2. 1199 swingarm was lighter, but it would increase the wheelbase. V2 swingarm might be heavier because it is the "budget" Panigale. I do like that the V2 swingarm puts more weight forward. If there is anything that the 899 doesn't do as well on the track is the front end confidence when turning in compared to say an R6. The swap might be worth it, but no budget this year.
That bike actually looks great out on the road and parked, they are bloody gorgeous!! Too small for a 6'7 dude? Not in the market for one but christ I'd love one :D

Mine runs at 220 around town...on a hot day that means you're sweating
Can you do a list of the most comfortable supersport bikes?
OC checking in here : I've moved into the naked segment of bikes but I would want something I could go on a long 500+ mile ride as well. As for the cops, I'm not convinced Mountain viewing some of your videos aren't like "We gotta make sure Chase doesn't do 160 on the highway all the time. Hello GSP we have a guy doing a test ride along this route, think you can up your patrols a little bit on this day..thanks.." In all reality love the videos keep up the awesome content.
Got my V2 just before Covid hit. I love it, already at 10,000km on it. Amazing bike. You should've tried the Race mode. Changes the bike :p
I'm thinking about a white V2 myself. Glad to see you put miles on it instead of letting it sit.
I still have my 959 and i got 26k on it. I wanna trade it in but after that many miles it hurts too much to let her go
@@ericiglesias4313 switch her for the V2. You won't be as sad feeling the difference in confort :p
@@kevinmccaig9025 i like feeling like my ass is on fire, makes me feel like ghost rider 😂
@@ericiglesias4313 the V2 heats up too don't worry ;) haha
Love me some Ducati Panigales. Too bad I’m too afraid to buy one because I’m afraid of the possible associated costs. Can we.....can we see the new BMW S1000RR??
*Ordered mine!*
Due December.. we are alittle slow down under🇦🇺
I ordered mine in August, was due October but now delayed until December as well. Such a long wait! 😩 Stupid Australia.
CHINA No Containment, Sh•t Happens
at least you got a Job for a Ducati, lot of folks are put out Due to China's SCHEMING or Incompetence
13:48 how does it go from that shot.. to the nearest vehicle being that far away? how far away is the camera car? they must have a serioussss telephoto lens
It's amazing content. I hope you will make a video blog for panigale v2 bayliss edition
What brand are those bar end mirrors? They look great!
They look like CRG arrows
26:23 BMW Z3 behind you. Still looking good. But man, what an extraordinary machine that v2.
My Dream Bike!
This review led me to buy my own v2! ty
Yesss I've been waiting for this one ‼️
I really appreciate that Ducati is making this bike affordable at 16k. Also, unless you live in a certain sportbike centric towns, no one is gonna know that you don't have top tier....and also, who GAF...that bike is gonna blow anything else away. I personally wouldn't go with red, but , well done Ducati!
What about not having a fuel gauge?
I'm getting one! They're just so beautiful and just over $24,000 ride away in Australia.
This thing is not even out of the break in period yet. I bet the longer you rode it the more you'd love it....(that's what she said.)
Beautiful quality of video!
I always thought my 899 was good looking but this bike is art in motion. I think I may have to do some changes soon.
After watching this vid about 10 times I pulled the trigger. He’s not wrong about the picture taking thing 😅😂
That bike actually looks great out on the road and parked, they are bloody gorgeous!! Too small for a 6'7 dude? Not in the market for one but christ I'd love one :D
I am getting mine tomorrow, can’t wait to fit the Akra exhaust.
Very nice review, can you tell the difference between the V2 & the V4 when it comes to seat heating?
OC bro! Awesome review! I'm buying one!
Great shots! Love the bike. I own one!
Haven’t ridden a bike yet but I feel like I want one of these. Lol
i dont even have a licence but i know im getting one of these at some point
It’ll cost you when you drop it, not the best starter bike tbh
I'm not sure, that the Yamaha R1 is a better motorcylce. It's more powerpuffl, but does it make it better?
It's gonna be a totally different experience. Depends on what you want from a bike. I ride both an R1 and an MV Agusta and the Italian bikes in general give it a totally totally different experience. However, some days you just want to have a bit of a less quirky ride or not stress too much about leaving your Italian baby out on the streets :D
Going shopping for my Panigali in 2 weeks. Can not freakin wait....
