I like how most manufacturers are associated with a specific color. You want a red bike? Ducati. You want a green bike? Kawasaki. Orange bike? KTM. etc
I’ve owned 3 Ducati Monsters -last one 1200s. One Ducati V2 Panigale and the V2 Streetfighter. I live in the Colorado mountains - I dont even know what a straight road is. All bikes close in turns and they all put a smile on my face. The V4 best suited for track.
Im moving up there in a couple of months. Want to get into a Ducati but can't decide which one. Scrambler Nightshift (budget) or Diavel 1260 (dream bike) or V2 street fighter

Hey Mark I've been looking at a nice Monster 1200R vs a Streetfighter V2 both very similar prices. What would you say is superior for strictly sporty recreational street riding and quality of bike?
Really love when you bring the actual owners of various comparison bikes on to your channel. The input and comments made by the owner sort of made a little more sense to me when comparing the V2 to the V4, because he was commenting from the position as a V2 daily driver. Danger wise any bike even with a 100+ HP can be dangerous if you're not always alert and attentive, and have a good strategy for all your give it the beans launches. Even my lowly Ninja's ZX-14R & Ninja H2 required being very thoughtful before firing up the after burners! It's not only do you have enough room to get the bike up to 186 but do you have enough room when you can that slow moving traffic at that speed can you bring it down in speed and have just enough reserve so when someone in the upcoming traffic decides to do something stupid you're not in the middle of their cute little maneuver.
Went to buy a Street Fighter V4 last May, walked out of the dealer with an Iceberg White Multistrada V4S on order, and delivered in August. I still want a Street Fighter but the Multistrada is fast fast enough, way more comfortable, just not as easy on the eyes.
MANY riders have died or been severely injured on 125cc motorcycles, scooters and mopeds; any bike can kill you if you are not careful, so splitting hairs between the V2 and V4 is a moot point. Having said that, both the V2 and the V4 would be dangerous in the hands of an inexperienced rider, and could kill you much more dramatically than a typical scooter, for those who wish to die with flair.
As owner of an Aprilia V2 Tuono 140 hp and now V4 175 hp, I can conclusively say you have more fun on a V twin than a V4. on the street at least…give me the V twin!
The real question is: in what kind of environement you r driving in. If you drive mostly in the city, get the V2; if you drive in the country side... get the V4. And both those bikes will kill you if you r not aware of how dangerous any motorcyle can be ;)
If you are self conscious & need to have a size measurement contest than I guess V4 would only fill that void, but if you’re a confident rider & know what you’re doing on 2 wheels, than the V2 will definitely get the job done & keep $10k in your pocket 😎
The V4 makes zero sense. I rode a V2 and NOBODY would ride a V2 and say it needs more power 😂. That V4 is just one of them things a manufacturer does because it can become it has the parts from other bikes to do it. But it really makes no sense other than just being excessive wich is what someone people want. But there's zero need for it i dont care what anyone says. Its like having a car with 700hp but if thats not enough they make a 1100 hp version 😂. As if anyone needs 1100hp or evenn 700 for that matter 😂 its all just different levels of more than enough.
Dude. Try the Streetfighter 1098. Probably the most vicious bike I've owned. No electronics aid package and when tuned for a bit extra, it will bite you in the neck if you turn your eyes the other way for a sec.
Great video comparison! Thank you! I have owned a Ducati SF 1098. Put 12K on that Streetfighter and loved every moment. Now on a MV Brutale 800 RR. Sweet bike, but the Ducati SF V2 has my attention. The V4, awesome, but I, like most I presume, don't do track days on 2 wheels. BOTH sweet bikes, but IMHO believe the V2 is clearly the better looking - due to that V4's radiator.shroud. Very distracting where the V2 is a much nicer design
Some of the difference in experience on the two bikes has to be down to the exhaust on the V4 - put a similar system on the V2 and the difference won't 'feel' so big.
Test rode the v2 multi, v2, monster and panigale v2 last year on a dealer test day. Monster, blah, multi nice but not enough revs your constantly changing gear, the panigale V2, what a machine!!! Fell in love. Also airflow of the panigale screen was better than the Mutli as what air cones at you is smooth not turbulent. As with most tall upright screens it sheds vortices to the left and right all the time wobbling at you! Yes the panigale V2 is quite wristy but surprisingly comfortable and because it’s got the weight forward it turns like a dream! So impressed I borrowed the panigale for a days ride and I’ve just bought that demo bike from the dealer! Arrives next week!
i think anything over 120hp on a naked bike is already bonkers lol so the V2 would be more than plenty! it’s more fun to ride a slower bike fast than to ride a faster bike slow… but in the case of the V2 it’s already too much.
Great bikes! I am always amused at Ducati owners insistence in calling it an "L-twin". Its a 90-degree V twin. The cylinders have just been rotated for packaging reasons to make the cylinders look like an L.
So I have test ridden a v4s and I own a v2. I love my v2 but I wouldn’t mind a v4s either because why not. No need for it but there’s a major want one day
In Australia there are strict speed limits, lot's and lot's of radar spped traps and hefty fines/penalties! Hard enough not getting busted on my measley 112hp monster let alone one of these two!
Love the bikes, really want to step up from my 2015 R3, but can we talk about the driving that white Chevy was doing at 9:05 - 10:00? Guy was all over the lanes. I don't know what it is, I'm sure there's some sort of psychology behind it, but I swear people turn it up to 11 on the road when you're on a bike near them.
I bought a 959 ducati panigale. I was happy whit my bike until my friend bought a ducati panigale v4..I ride it to see the difference and damn I was mad for buying that 959..the power..the feeling..the pressure..everything was different..I end up going back to the dealer..never again...don't buy that v2 you going regret it
Its only few thousand $$$ diff from the non S version Im very happy with my 2022 SFV4. No need to spend $5k on the electronic ohlins and forge wheels. That happened to me when I picked up my bike. V2 or $3k more for the V4 and I picked the V4 non S version
I just ordered the V4 non S. The electronic ohlins would have been nice but overall i think forged tires especially are more track oriented. I didnt think the extra bucks was worth it.
I'll just say it, the reason everyone is obsessed with these 200hp motorcycles is because they get the most views and likes. Same concept with Harley's 131 kit is to "flex" on bike night, that being said I'm perfectly content with my "slow " z900 and dyna street bob 🤷
i have a z900 and just bought a panigale v4, it makes my z900 feel like the yamaha r3 i learned to ride on.... and my z900 is open exhaust and dyno tuned. with that being said, its a BITCH to ride as it gets STUPID hot, clutch is hard as fuck, riding position is horrible.
Im so stuck between the V4 Aprilia or the V4 Ducati !! Never owned a Ducati before. Had an Aprilia and had more issue's than I have on any bike ive owned which has me iffy about going with Aprilia again..
There are benefits too. I constantly have to check my speed on the highway because triple digits feel like cruising. When I had a naked bike I felt every MPH.
The L twin I had was the best handling bike I've ever ridden, the 2001 750 Sport (not super sport) was less than a year old with about 200 miles on it & only cost me £4000 from a Ducati dealer and was made in Italy by Ducati unlike the new bikes that now are built in Thailand, Brazil and some mystery 3rd party companies, I don't drive cars so won't be buying a new DE.ucati, Ducati is now run by Germans and built all over the place
I prefer more torque and less rpm over less torque and more rpm, even if Hp stays same. Its like the ZX4RR and Ninja 400. No torque difference means no acceleration difference. But on paper it has more HP, just because RPM goes higher. Not the type I ride my bikes.
Everyone is mad about the design of the street fighter but I really don't like it. I find both of them out of proportion with unpleasant shapes, especially the V4.
That V4 is an absolutely useless machine on the road and yes I have ridden it. The torque sucks, you have to rev it out for the power and by then you are going waaay too fast. It is clunky, noisy and hot as fuck! The V2 is a much better machine for the road. I ended up with the KTM 1290 SD Evo, much better than both on the road. I test rode them all and settled on the KTM because for the street it is as good as it gets. Both Ducatis have no gas gauge, no cruise etc.
