Technically a more fair comparison would be the RSV4 - the ducati and BMW motors are basically the same engine with different bodywork. Aprilia is the odd one out: it basically uses nearly the same geometry and bodywork and reworks the engine. I love my tuono but it's not an RSV4 (and that's one of the reasons I love it: it's more comfortable and I don't have to rev it to 10k to make great power).
It finished a few yards behind. If they had used the RSV4 factory it would have won. The tuono isn't designed around a copy of the motogp engine: it's tuned for mid-ranged torque with different cams. The BMW and Ducati use the exact same engine as their motogp counterparts @@1990sourav
The Aprilia still a great Bike to Ride i was on a Search for a Hypernaked i own the Aprilia and on my search for a new Hypernaked i try the KTM great Bike with much Character but not that much for Track,the BMW has a strong Engine but missing a lot of Character of the old S1000r the Engine feels like a Electric Bike power is always there but it felt boring even the Power is ridiculles.On the end i choose the Ducati because of the look‘s the Engine more Emotional even the Bike is not Perfect but to much Perfection can be boring
I have a Z H2 and without an ECU flash, there is no way... 100lb heavier and is limited to 170hp at peak, which drops to 130hp at redline. I'd can't wait to see the race, but can't imagine it winning in stock form.

I used to own an April tuono v4 I was not good at launching hard like that, even with launching control you couldn't get off the line that fast...im impressed, even being down 30 hp it still was able to keep up (for the most part) and givin the price difference I'll definitely take the Aprilia
Definitely. It's still and always will be overkill for the road and I'm nowhere near the ability to use it to the fullest at the track. Also, it gets even better with the forged wheels.
I stood next to a Ducati streetfigter recently at my local mot centre. Dare i say it looked quite understated ? You'd never think it was a 200hp + monster. The other 2 bikes give you quite an obvious nod to their madness. Personally, I've got a soft spot for the Tuono

Awesome guys thanks for doing this one ! Very enjoyable. I fixed the 2nd gear dip on m1000r with a flash from brentune, filter and full Akra system. Had it dyno’d. 202 at back tyre it’s a beast !

They’re great, but also pretty heavy. That chassis is a full generation behind. I’ve owned all of these bikes, including the Superduke r and the mt10. They’re all crazy for the street, so pick whatever flavor suits your taste.

I dont know why they "detuned" the engine that hard compared to the RSV4. But who cares on the street I guess? The Aprilia is with no doubt the best sounding of them all.
The tuono is my dream bike, but I feel at this point it is only a naked bike in riding position. They keep slapping more and more plastics on it. I still love it though and would love to ride and own one some day.
U won’t be disappointed in the tuono. My boy has the tuono v4 n ducati v4s and a s1000rr and he absolutely loves his tuono when it comes to riding. Only down fall in the reliability

It's weird to me 20 years on with the power numbers now. This old 220 fart used to break the 10's on my 02 blade putting out 135 at the rear wheel. Most likely due to getting off the line easier I guess. Be great to see that era of bikes go at it! Gixxer, blade, r1, and 996! Let's gooooo....

All three is those bikes are SICK. I would love to have any of them. If I had to pick one it would be the m1000r. Tough choice though, all 3 are awesome and I’d be happy with any of them.
BeMoto are an awesome insurance company. I insured my 2001 R1 with them, 5yrs NCB, £180 fully comp. I thought it was plenty but just insured my 2001 ZX7R on a multi bike with my R1, £58 fully comp. If you've got more than one bike, try BeMoto. Great folks, great price, hope I never have to find out how their claims side works. Great vid Chris, but I'd still buy the Aprilia Tuono too. Just the sound alone wins it for me. But if the KTM was there, it's the best naked road bike available today, particularly the Evo version.
That's such a shame you guys didn't use a 23 SF v4, there's a few updates compared to the 22, the 23 you have low medium high and 'full' power modes which gives you 100% of the torque in every gear other than first, compared to the 22 where you only have all full torque in the last 2 gears.
got a 2023 SFV2S myself was bummed when they said they got a 2022 :( the bike also has launch control!! it would probably did a even better job against the BMW kind of surprised when they said they had a hard time finding a Ducati for the test!
In fairness to them, Chris explained that they asked all the manufacturers for a bike but didn’t get anything from them so a bike shop was kind enough to borrow these bikes. Ducati missed a chance to display their latest product on this.
You could ask around the different manufacturer clubs, see who's regarded as the most wreckless rider and then pitch them against each other😅 at least you'd get people who ride these day in day out

I'm amazed by that Tuono. 30, 40 HP down and heavier but it put on a good show. It would still be my choice of these three as a road bike. You can get an honest 190hp at the wheel with a Tuono for not a lot of cash if that's your thing.
Now would you care to explain the 190hp at the wheel with 'not a lot of cash', please ? Because that would be around 220 hp at the crank, minimum. That doesn't mean the Tuono isn't a great, great bike. But I really doubt your numbers.

Always choose to race these bikes where there are turns. Left turns and right turns. If you want to race in a straight line use a squid's extended swingarm Busa, H2 or GSXR1000
How would these do compared to a smaller sports bike - R6 or GSXR 750? Suspect the nakeds get away, but the fairer bikes claw back at speed. Probably the super nakeds win overall.
Looking on Two Wheels of 10 years ago, considering no reaction time, a Ducati Streetfigher 1098 or Tuono V4R would have been quicker ;). Would be interesting to have a comparison including some "old school" girls to evaluate the progress.

Recently lowered my Speed triple then didnt think of the side stand !

M1000R is also restricted in the mid range I believe, that's why it doesn't wheelie up so often
lol the zh2 is mega restricted. i own one and with a MILD ecu mapping and still on stock headers and air filter, reached 241hp so go figure
The ZH2 is a monster of an engine. Detune it completely and you are looking at around 240hp.@@NalinKhurb

1/4 Mile times haven’t improved since 2005, but HP continues upward. Should indicate its value as a performance metric.
