    Nearly 3 years after watching this video, being amazed at the sound of that thing and how fun it was for Statham to ride, I've just taken delivery of my new Tuono V4! I thought I was a Triumph boy for life, but I've been turned. I cannot wait to get past the breaking-in miles and open this baby up!

    Aprilia has said they'd have to redesign the whole tank to implement a fuel gauge, it won't work with the shape. The bike still has a fuel light, and still has average and current mpg metering linked to the trip meter. You don't need a fuel gauge, just reset your trip meter on fillup and look at the MPGs. I own one and have toured on it, never have run out of gas.

      Exactly this. I have toured many times on my RSV4. NEVER has it been an issue. Even if I've forgotten to reset the trip, you're never more than 20 miles from a petrol station.

      2WheelAgenda ahhhhhh good to know. Was so annoyed that it seemed like jsut a stubborn dumbass thing and no way ather than riding consistent and logging miles ;..lol but sounds like there's a few ways to getit close . Still like to see a fuel line somewhere on that beautiful TFT tho,..especially from the most advanced and expensive exotic hypernaked on earth. 🙂 but s tank re design when a a bike redesign. Will be comming one day sooner than later makes no sense I suppose.

      LIKWID yeah utah USA,.. Zions or Canyonlands, Uintahs Natuonal Forrest,..the Rocky Mountain Range, some of the most beutiful and epic scenery on earth here so u limited touring potential but on my MT10 that gets shit for fuel mileage I'll fill up and literally be searchingto make sure I can make it on a FULL tank to the next station lol 20 miles would do ZERO good in any of the site seeing touring areas here.

    Al, you are correct this is the best road bike period. Has been for years.
    But based on the comments here, there are plenty of people too thick to realize and give it a go. They use the pathetic excuse that it doesn't have a fuel gauge. All the other excuses have been dispelled over the years or corrected by Aprilia. Why they can't just admit it's not their cup of tea I don't know. I've ridden a lot of bikes in the last 15 years (about 100 at this point) but none come close to the Tuono V4 for a road bike with massive fun factor. Others are prettier, more comfortable, lighter, cheaper, more economical, better for touring, highway runs etc, but as a complete package it is unchallenged.

    I watched this review when it first came out. I bought a 2019 Tuono Factory last year and after having it for a year, I have to agree with Al and say this is one of the best bikes ever! Almost nothing wrong with it. Just a clunky left switchgear, and user interface (which they fixed with the 2021 model). Everything else is amazing! No regrets buying this!

      What`s wrong with the user interface?

    • @cwhitty05
      @cwhitty05 2 года назад +1

      @@peteralexander1155 it’s very clunky and requires a very fine touch because the tiny little joystick is super sensitive. The menus aren’t intuitive. You’d think you would click to change a parameter, and then move the joystick left or right to change it. Instead you have to click and then move it up and down, but then you inadvertently click the button instead and it backs you out and you have to start over again. You can’t reset the trip meter once you start the engine and put it in gear. You can’t change anything except the rider mode and the traction control level while riding. The cruise control isn’t intuitive either.

Even if I forget to reset a tripmeter, the bike starts a separate trip meter marked “F” for fuel when the fuel light’s triggered , so you know exactly how far you’ve gone since it came on. It’s idiot proof. Should it have a fuel gauge? Yup. But it’s not a touring bike. Not buying this bike because it doesn’t have a fuel gauge says to me that person has completely missed the point of this motorcycle.

      Motorbike Tourer yeah,..honestly at the cost of an MT10 that's crazy considering v4 1100 , Sachs and brembos are so much better than the mt10 , my only things were though I hate the tail on the rr ,..dumb reason I know but I also am in love with the RSV4 Factory tail on a tuono lol looks so WSBK! I also am obsessed with the colors and Livery of the Factory , those read wheels 😍 so those couple things and were big to me so paying a bit more and getting this new electronic Ohlins and and Akra (tho I'd go Full SC or Austin) it was the only route I felt like I could go,..probably not great reasons but just in love with the Factory . The '14-'15 tuonos started seeing a lot of swapped RSV4 tails ,..do they have that option for the RR?
      And if you're an owner of a tuono,..I need to ask,..how is the reliability? I'm in utah US and decided against a tuono Factory becaue I'd heard it wasn't great reliability and there's no Aprilia dealer within 1,400 miles of me so that's a big deal buying new ,.,regarding service, recalls , repairs etc. but curious as a tuono owner what your thoughts are?

      Lingenfelter Zee Ohh Six - I own a ,14 Tuono with a swapped out RSV4 tail. Ride it like I stole it. I am the second owner and bought it a 8ish-k miles and now am at 12.5k miles. I rode it from CT to PA; to OH and MI and now live in MN. The bikes never burped and lives at 80-105 mph on the highways. A pure joy to own. That said, yesterday I went looking to buy a 19 Factory, but my dealer near Minneapolis wouldn’t sell me his Demo Factory yet. I’m waiting for a new one, but yea I scour CycleTrader looking the same way you do. I want a 19 not an 18.. should I forget the suspension and get an 18 leftover? I came back to this review. I've got new bike fever (not the pandemic kind). I'm torn between the new Ducati Streetfighter and a Tuono. I had a chance to bond with a Tuono (non-factory) a few years ago. It overheated in Texas summer traffic but was otherwise breathtaking. That exhaust note... pure sex. The worst part is the range. I have to ride quite a ways to get to the good stuff. Was on a ride with a guy on a Tuono and we had to go back and bring him a can of gas.

There's a rendering out there leaked by an ex Aprilia employee , Jsut one view but everyone's saying it's legit and Aprilia won't comment and say "it's NOT it" so looks to be real and likely very very close! It looks AMAZING!!!! Has similar lines and still a sort of 3 head light configuration still which is trasitional Aprilia but uses LEDs instead and slim Lights, has a smaller cannard than the Factory Rsv4 but looks so cool, same stink bug short tail concept, and based directly from the new rsv4 being designed side by side,..it's going to. Give the new Ducati v4 Streetfighter and the new S1000R M a run for its money for sure!!!! I appreciate how great these bikes are but I finally took it off the list of potentials for my next bike for a few reasons. 1) Dealerships are too much of a hassle. 2) I watch the used bike market in a few areas pretty closely and I see the same Tuonos for sale for months. No one wants them. 3) I never see these bikes out riding around with high mileage. Not anywhere. Most motorbikes are just toys, not necessities, but Aprilias are complete money pits. Once you buy it, it's yours and you are probably never getting anything out of it. A few years of enjoyment and then a lot of expensive maintenance. I can buy a Yamaha, BMW, Honda, or even a Ducati, ride it for awhile and still sell it for a decent amount. Journalists can orgasm over them all they want but it's just a bad choice for anyone without lots of excess money. There's a reason the bike reviewers who have so little bad to say about these bikes don't own one themselves.

    • @Unblockable
      @Unblockable 5 лет назад +2

      It sucks to say, but your arguments are very subjective to where you live. Yes, Aprilia's dealership network isn't ideal, but the long term cost of these bikes won't be considerably more than your typical BMW or Ducati. I guess I'm very lucky to live within 20 km distance to 3 separate dealers that sell Aprilias because these Tuonos and even RSV4 are selling like hotcakes around here. Also, these tuonos don't last long on the used bike market because they're very desirable. So yeah, if there aren't many dealerships with Aprilias around you, it's not that great. However, if it's the opposite case, it would be hard to pick any other bike in the same class over Aprilia. Especially after a test ride.

    • @beanwithbaconmegarocket
      @beanwithbaconmegarocket 5 лет назад +1

      @@Unblockable That's good to hear. Would love to own one of these one day. Road a 2016 recently and it was incredible. But like you said my arguments are pretty applicable to where I live. • @Unblockable
      @Unblockable 5 лет назад

      @@beanwithbaconmegarocket Yeah, it all depends on which dealer is more convenient for you in terms of support.
