Still one of the best looking and best sounding bikes ever made.
Gerard Montgomery For sure...on my second Tuono.
Now I want to see the 44Teeth "Ridiculously Expensive Super Bike Battle".
Oh yes 😃
Imagine the uproar!
@@FortyFourTeeth wonder if you'd get as many rich wankers moaning that the bikes aren't expensive enough 😅
Great call. They can call it (The) Unlimited Budget Bike Battle. :-)
again.
I've gps tested the 2017 Tuono and the speedo is very accurate.. so you probably may have seen 200 mph.. I have one in the garage now and can confirm it's a handful on the commute 😂
At high speeds (170-~205) the speedometer does not match GPS. It is way above than the actual speed and requires more distance for the bike to truly reach the speed the speedo shows.
Heretic Anthem do you know who Lambchop rides is? Ever seen his channel? Dude knows his stuff, he didn't jsut make up what he said and post it on his friends channel. I'd put s little more faith in his thoughts as a bit of an expert .
@@VASILLEVSKI1878 What happens above ~205 mph? Does the speedo become accurate again?
@@MZ-bl6wg Well I own the Tuono that chops reviewed. GPS tested on two separate occasions: Both times, 170 mph speedo = 160 mph real speed. 5.9% differential. Do with that what you will. I don't consider that "very accurate" but it's not bad either.
Looking forward to the battle: Aprilla 1100 Factory vs Ducati V4R vs BMW S1000RR
We're not allowed to test the V4R with rivals. Instructions from the Ducati factory
@@FortyFourTeeth lol ducati is scared . Something ferrari also does ... pathetic
test a v4S with the Akra setup and upmap @@FortyFourTeeth
@@FortyFourTeeth well they know it's going to loose very sad Ducati does this. I for one would not give them 50K for a bike that will be doing less than Aprilia or BMW it's just not worth the mark up.
@@taxi615 Jup they 100 % know that the new beemer and aprilia will be faster then the ducati V4R on track and probably for street also
I'm not sure why manufacturers bother bringing other motojournalists to bike launches. 44Teeth does SUCH a good job. If you (44T) have the opportunity to review the new Tuono with the electronic suspension, please do so. It is my current dream bike.
Just come back from the launch! Vid soon
Hallelujah! :)@@FortyFourTeeth
Totally 🤜💥🤛
Couldn't agree more. I no longer bother with the bike magazines as they rarely tell you what you really want and need to know. Plus these guys are so funny, I love them to bits.
@@FortyFourTeeth Nice
@Fagan Clearly you are one of the most competent motorcycle RUclipsrs out there. Therefore I know for sure that this will be the best review of the the new RSV4. Thank you for enlighten us
It does NOT look old at all, it looks timeless. Absolute beauty with those wings, yes I love them
Stumbled across your channel a couple of weeks ago......you deserve way more subs then you have at the moment👍 Your almost as good as Jeremy,James and Richard for how you guys relate to each other👍👍
Should be called the RFV4STE (Spinal Tap Edition) - turned it up to 11.
Why does everyone ham on its looks? I think it looks great and sounds awesome.
I mean, yea a lot could have been done with the styling, but why? It still looks so good...
Exactly - if was brand new this year, look great but iffy due to classic/retro looks, deliberate overstyling. As this is the original, it's simply classic. No problem.
Honestly I've never liked the RSV4 styling, I was hoping they would change it just for that alone
It looks dated. The RS 660's styling should've been applied to the V4 bikes first.
I don't want them to change the style , many manufacturers when they start changing stuff on their bike they get lost and the bike loses it's signature look
It says a lot the amount of times a bike is compared to the S1000RR these days. Who would have thought that back in the day when BMW
at least in Sweden was equal to a policebike or for old tourers. Great review as always 👍🏻
Your content, when it comes to cars or bikes, is amongst the best on not just the internet and the likes of RUclips, but also TV and the MSM channels. Perhaps even THE best. Great stuff.
I've been waiting for this :D
This is what you guys do best and why I will continue to watch. Great review!
Just got back from nurburgring on my 2019 Tuono 1100 - literally the do it all bike
Best bike reviews on RUclips.
Agree 😃
Still such beautiful looking machine.
Plus it handles like a guided missile.
I love this bike. The riding exp this bike delivers is why I ride motorbikes.
A fuckin masterpiece.
It's why I got mine. It's a '18 RSV4 RF LE...
It's got color... and wings! 201hp is enuf!😇
As a HD rider you're guys unbelievable to watch...wish you all success in the world...fun you already have:) Ride safe
It doesn’t matter when u guys released these videos, for the sport bike fanatic this is just heaven. All I want for Xmas is an RSV4 1100 FACTORY
Oh btw the supporting braces are the wrong way around on the door behind you 😂
There calles T Hinges and I would guess they chose that way due to the positioning of the light switch and in so the door takes up the least amount of space in that tiny room.
Most people have no idea
They might have reversed the picture to get around copyright strike from the cocks at 44teef
stack those bananas he isn’t talking about the hinges 😉
Braceses should come loose so you can turn them round if needed and fix properly when hanging the door.
These videos from 44Teeth from the last year or two lead me to believe that the motorcycle industry is pumping out absolute gem after absolute gem. Even more so than in the mid 2000's. And those bikes are still good. So here's an idea for a video.
Most fun (not best!) motorcycles since 2000 all the way up to 2019. Fun factor and possibly bang for your buck is where it's at. Extreme engineering feats are not necessarily the main point of focus - superbikes derive most of their fun from how stupendously good they are on track. But fun is a difficult thing to define. You two gentlemen have a thing for vocalising the hard to grasp. So to make a video, possibly complete with tracktime on the respective bikes, of the most fun motorcycles since 2000 will be one giant whopper of a project. One that will pay off, because if my assumption is correct, you lads regularly being invited to racetrack events, unveilings, first impressions etc means to me you are becoming high profile motorcycle journalists. So for you to motivate your reasons for a comprehensive list of great bikes may very well elevate that status even further.
I am a 2017 1290 KTM SDR owner, and I was pumped to find out it was your #1 choice for the best bikes of the year video. That's the kind of feeling it would evoke for people to hear their choices further reinforced.
Most fun and bang for buck or even "best" is so extremly opinionated that it's hardly doable (think of all the supermotos that somehow go under the radar of general motorcycle reviews). but since i have nothing of value to add: Dear 44t, please do what he just said ^^
God I want a spot on this channel, living this kind of life would be the shit. Entertaining people, giving bike reviews, riding bad ass bikes....damn that would be a satisfying life
I’m so looking forward to the tuono review, the 1100 engine is a absolute peach
My buddy sold his V4S after he found out about this bike. But now he is shying away from supersport bikes in favor of super nakeds and STs. So hopefully the dealers around here have a demo because I can't afford one and don't really want one but would love to give one a go.
Great work guys. Baron, you still have an open invite to stay if you end up out here in the Bay Area. Al you are welcome as well.
Great review!! Are you guys gonna review the ZX6-R as well? Would be awesome
Once this looks like the 600 concept my money is theirs
Great review Al. Such a shame we couldn't see and hear an onboard lap with you. Bit concerned about Chris and your Mum! 👍
Lovely review as always. I'm planning on taking one of these out for a test ride next week and I'm so damn excited after seeing it in person at COTA last weekend. Also, have you seen Sena's new all in one helmet with an action camera? Could be a good option for tracks that won't allow a gopro so you can get on board footage :)
instablaster...
Great review as always guys, thanks! Can you please explain better on the Traction Control which you don't find it very good as opposed to most of the media saying Aprilia electronics are really good? very curious on this, thank you
@44teeth ?
"Arrabbiata, great pasta dish" 😂😭. 10/10 review guys, great insight, and good laughs as usual. Fagan, you sure know how to push a bike. Top job, thanks guys. Can't wait to see the v4r, s1k, 1100 shootout
@ 14:55 The wheels are producing "Rigidity in Space" from high rotation speed. From the Cambridge Dictionary "the quality or characteristic of not permitting any change".
I have a 14' v4 factory and was really hoping they would change the look of this bike... I will continue waiting for the next generation.
Those winglets look so much like an afterthought, it just doesn't look right! Great review as always!
Love the aprilia looks and sound more than almost any other bike. Brilliant review as always. +1 like
Still my favourite superbike
i really dont know what kinda people are asking for visual improvements. sure its 10yo but itll still look stunning in another 10 years.
Check the Aprilia RS660 concept, that kind of improvement would be nice, wouldn't it ?
I wish I was still young and strong enough to handle track days... And there is a good track near me. I pilot a piano these days though so life is still rich.
984francis I see 60yr olds at the track quite often
As a fellow piano player and motorcyclist, I really enjoyed this comment.
Your door is braced the wrong way it will drop and cause issues like a tyre the wrong way round. Can’t believe you haven’t noticed
Were in an old storage cupboard.. I'm not really that bothered
One of the best reviews you boys have insightful and informative
That vs the 19 bmw s1krr and v4s is what I'm waiting for!
So my 2017 RSV4RF is now getting worried !
For a bike that has it's styling from ten years ago, this still looks pretty good to me. Aprilia tend to put steel garbage cans, for exhausts, on it's stock bikes. The Akrapovič looks fantastic.
Great vid. One point, the echoey “chat room” sounds a bit jarring.
Love you guys. Can’t wait for your inevitable Amazon TV series!
First world problem right here people!!!
"Quite hot out today, its 22C"
Man, you brits have a skewed view of the weather lol...
Lol yes ! As soon as it gets above 20C we are dropping like flies !!
Over 10C is T-shirt weather
22 degrees is hot, especially if you're out under the sun and wearing leathers.
@@BigUriel complete rubbish 😅
@@knob You're telling someone "complete rubbish" based on something that is as easily verifiable as going outside on those weather conditions and just *feeling* it.
Have you ever worn leathers? Do you know they get hot? Do you even ride a motorcycle? Do you know that it's not like sitting comfortably inside a car with tinted glass and chassis insulation panels specifically designed to keep the interior cool?
My '18 RSV4 RF LE is more than enuf for me.
Although, the 1100 is freaking brilliant.
Hello person scrolling down the comments have a nice day
Thanks you too! You are an outstanding human and for that I salute you!
get fucked you puffers
Thank you , Sir.
Gday from Sydney Australia mate.
You too 😃
This bike is one of my dreambikes! love the review guys, always doing a good job!
Chichester Chris is your local!! CWS Motorcycles
I think you mean CMW in Chichester :) .I live between them and MotoCorsa in Gillingham who happen to not just sell Aprilia but also MV Agusta
@@Roger101Watson oooo.. visit incoming..
Aprilia people say the wings are also there for brake stability allowing the fork being settled before a big braking at high speeds. Just check the other reviews for that comment.
Now we need to see a shoot out V4R vs RSV4 at your favourite circuit 👌
Chris when are we getting a video of Fagan testing your HP4 Race ??
We already rode press bikes on previous video
Well done, that is how a review should be produced. Thank you!
Maybe MV Agusta will come out with something revolutionary soon since they're kind of small like Aprilia. That would make an interesting euro superbike comparison for sure mixed in with some S1000RR
Great review, still think Panigale V4 has it overall. Arbitrary question I’m trying to obtain new insurance quote for multi bike policy, I watched an interview with you with a bloke from insurance but can’t remember or find it now can you refresh my memory and I’ll give em a buzz. I’m with Carole Nash they make you feel like they are doing you a favour, Bennett’s won’t quote on one of the bikes, you think with 9 years no claims and a garage like Fort Knox they’d love to take my hard earned apparently not!
As much as i like the rsv maybe a design change ie fairing tailpiece etc, as frame is pretty damn good! I know the copperpot wings look ally. But i reckon more could have been done. Still will trade a bollock for one though!
I've got the '16 RSV4 RF. Love that bike!!! It's the best I've owned. I can honestly say.........I don't need more power. At this level, for me, it's all about the styling, and my bike looks 1000 times better than the new one......I'll keep her.
Loved the sound effects made by you
Race ECU fixes all that snatchiness of the TC etc.
My dream bike. Will have one soon !
"Take my money" like a boss
One of these days I'll own an Aprilia. The only problem is my local Ducati dealer is within walking distance of my house which makes life so so easy.
@5:00 Definitely wouldn’t have become bored listening to all the changes that were made. But glad you went through the main ones. Great video as always guys!
Another great review, you blokes are funny with great knowledge of the product! Ducati must be pissed, faster than the Panigale R at a bit more than half the price and it sounds a 100 times better - bravo Aprilia!
I'd be taking those wings off.
as u guys r getting older, test the tuono 4 the road.
To me this Aprilia looks properly sorted especially in that colour.
Again a great review!
Nice review & great bike but you've touched on Aprilia's achilles heel that puts a lot of people off them, including me, their dealer network & after sales service. They're not as bad as they used to be apparently but still not there yet. I had a new RSV1000R I bought about 10 years ago from Wheels Motorcycles, who were absolutely great, but they were a very long way away from where I was living at the time. So I went to my local Aprilia's dealer for servicing etc who were total & utter shite & had a terrible attitude because I didn't buy the bike from them. They tried to charge me for free warranty work & an Aprilia rep came down & had to get involved but he bottled it & didn't really help. Put me right off indefinitely. They've long since gone out of business which is no shock or loss!
I been waiting for this! Have a great week peeps! 🤘🏽
Great review from what has to be the best motorcycle channel in the world.. Keep it coming lads.
Brilliant as usual..(Just couldn't help but notice thee door in the background which is upside down :) just sayin!)
awesome video guys. One thing you could improve in that room is the audio.. there is a metallic noise when you stop talking that can get quite annoying. other that that 5 stars
Lovely jubbly! I get what you're saying about dealer network etc...but in a way that adds to the experience as it's a rare bit of kit. Every town has a Mercedes dealership, but where would you take a Pagani for it's service? I'm a Ducati fan...I've bought three in the last year (admittedly none were Panigale's) but I'm going to buy either a Panigale or an RSV4 this year subject roadtest, and I'm actually hoping the Aprilia comes out top.
I feel like Al is so much more himself when crazy Chris is around!
Love the bike but just when on earth have winglets become a highlight?
4:00 -open class 🙏 would be amazing
State of that plug socket in the corner of the room !! 🙀
Akra exhausts make everything look better
Not sure if I missed it but what was the lap time did you do? I saw on the dash 2:07,, was that the Italian dude or Fagan?
Sad that Ducati won't allow the V4R to be tested directly but of course the RSV4 1100 will do better for most riders, it has more displacement and generally softer bikes are easier to ride so non-pro riders can extract more from them. A V4R on the other hand actually probably much more difficult to extract it's max potential because well, it's more hardcore. The V4S, in our group at mugello we were doing 325kp/h before braking. On that V4S I do not recall brake fade as well. A real proper test would be this bike vs the V4S with the akra. I'm sure you can just rent a V4S from a viewer if Ducati won't provide.
I own a '16 RSV4 Tuono 1100 Factory and I actually don't like it, it's actually quite uncomfortable for the road for me. The Plus Minus on the left hand controls are so horribly positioned as well that I press them all the time unknowingly while riding. I know it's detuned a bit from the Superbike but the engine felt very characterless as well.
I had to laugh at 22*c being "hot". Great vid of a great bike guys
Fagan looking dapper as fuck in that button up polo.
Bike isn’t bad either.
Thanks guys!
Great sounding bike and ageless look I don’t think it needs much update on the looks .
Great review of course. Do worry about Aprilia doing such a a great bike and not making it more sexy looking, it looks old fashioned. Hope it does well.
In spite of the age I still think it is one of the best looking bikes out there just as it is.
Another blinding video lads. Well done.
I test rode one yesterday. First thing i noticed is on the one i rode the throttle has finally been sorted. No on off jerkyness like on previous versions. The brakes on the one i rode wernt very good though. Now i think it may be because they wernt fully bed in or something on the discs maybe? Whatever it was they were not as good as my r1 brakes. The gearbox is good as usual on these but i must say i wasnt blown away at all. Infact hoping back onto my 2017 r1 i realised how good the r1 is. As for torque, well unless it was restricted i think my r1 has more grunt from low down. But maybe the rsv4 has more peak power. Plus the electronics seem to cut too violently compared to my yam. I wont be spending all that to get so little extra over my bike.
Fair one, good to hear how it stacks against bikes we own and if its worth the plunge. A couple of grand on your r1 would see some gains too!. Cheers.
Were you in Rain mode?!
@@FortyFourTeeth no i got dealer to put it in full power mode and had tc3 out of 8 i believe. Dont get me wrong it wasnt slow by any means but on the road it didnt feel quicker than my r1 and i recon the electronics were cutting too much. I didnt want to turn them off on a 21.5k test ride incase i flipped it
Only thing i kinda disagree that it looks old now..i really don't think so & yes i am a rsv4 fan boy & its my dream bike....
👍
Cracking vid as always, still from side on it looks one of the best bikes out there, just needs some carbon race fairings without lights! 😍
I think you should paint that Door, just sayin'...
What an absolutely gorgeous weapon (I'm talkin' the bike here, not Statham or Sue).
25% cooler... in Celcius or Kelvin? (Anything other than Kelvin is cheating)
i had the exact same thought :)
Who's Kelvin?
@@FortyFourTeeth William Thomson, 1st Baron Kelvin is known for determining the correct value of absolute zero as approximately −273.15 degree Celsius
Stating the bleeding obvious here, but this thing claims 50% more power than a zzr1100. That's hard to comprehend, as those things felt like they could warp space-time.
Nice bike. Still underrated.
Hi I live in USA I have 2016 rsv4 rr I think is time to go another ride so I want to now wich is better
V4 Ducati this new aprilia or the bmw.
Thanks
Whatever makes you happy once you open that garage door.
Can you really ride it on a public road? Will it go that slow?
I own an 18 RF and I love it dearly. THISSSSS??!?!? C'MON Aprilia! Now whats a guy to do... dammit...ugh what a hit ill take. Its like do I take a big fat hit or just keep it and add to the collection...perhaps use that as the track bike. And I told myself my next purchase was going to be a car...LOL
God yes we need an open class that all the top manufacturers can battle in. Other teams would be cool but lets face it not many independents will have the money.
other than the S1000rr, another competitor?? How about try the V4R or V4Speciale with the Akrapovic pipes??
