Nice review & great bike but you've touched on Aprilia's achilles heel that puts a lot of people off them, including me, their dealer network & after sales service. They're not as bad as they used to be apparently but still not there yet. I had a new RSV1000R I bought about 10 years ago from Wheels Motorcycles, who were absolutely great, but they were a very long way away from where I was living at the time. So I went to my local Aprilia's dealer for servicing etc who were total & utter shite & had a terrible attitude because I didn't buy the bike from them. They tried to charge me for free warranty work & an Aprilia rep came down & had to get involved but he bottled it & didn't really help. Put me right off indefinitely. I currently have the 2015 rsv4rr in an identical colour, there is a 2019 1100 factory in a dealership near me, this is my bike + £8,000 total £15,000 the bike has done 1600 miles is the change in machine worth the extra money?
I test rode one yesterday. First thing i noticed is on the one i rode the throttle has finally been sorted. No on off jerkyness like on previous versions. The brakes on the one i rode wernt very good though. Now i think it may be because they wernt fully bed in or something on the discs maybe? Whatever it was they were not as good as my r1 brakes. The gearbox is good as usual on these but i must say i wasnt blown away at all. Infact hoping back onto my 2017 r1 i realised how good the r1 is. As for torque, well unless it was restricted i think my r1 has more grunt from low down. But maybe the rsv4 has more peak power. Plus the electronics seem to cut too violently compared to my yam. I wont be spending all that to get so little extra over my bike.
@@FortyFourTeeth no i got dealer to put it in full power mode and had tc3 out of 8 i believe. State of that plug socket in the corner of the room !! 🙀
I had a Rsv -4 2010 std, how big difference is it compared to this 2019?
Fair one, good to hear how it stacks against bikes we own and if its worth the plunge. A couple of grand on your r1 would see some gains too!. Cheers.
Were you in Rain mode?!
@@FortyFourTeeth no i got dealer to put it in full power mode and had tc3 out of 8 i believe. Dont get me wrong it wasnt slow by any means but on the road it didnt feel quicker than my r1 and i recon the electronics were cutting too much. I didnt want to turn them off on a 21.5k test ride incase i flipped it
No raw footage?
What a great review..👍🏻
Your door is braced the wrong way it will drop and cause issues like a tyre the wrong way round. Can’t believe you haven’t noticed
Were in an old storage cupboard.. I'm not really that bothered
