    I love that color. Wish you could get the blacked out frame and exhaust with it. I bought an all black DCT Tour a month ago and waited almost a year for it. I committed to a black one that was supposed to come in last Spring because I didn't care for the blue two-tone with aqua bubble stripes. Can't say I haven't looked into piecing the plastic parts in that color and possibly doing a swap.

    Hello. Very much enjoyed your “1st wing vlog”. Last year, I also transitioned from a beloved VTX to a ‘21 wing. Your impressions & comparisons are very similar to mine. Haven’t yet sold the VTX, but absolutely love the Wing. End of this month, my wife & I are planning to ride up to Lawton, OK. If you’d be interested in meeting for a cup of coffee or a cold beer, DFW area would be a great place for a rest on the way. We normally go 287 through Waxahatchi from Bridge City, TX. Take care & Thanks again. Stay safe, Tom

I absolutely love my Goldwing. I had ruled them out until Honda gave the a new look and slimmed them down significantly in 2018. There is something about V-Twins that I will always miss, but there's a smile on my face every time I get on the gold wing. Very happy camper. There are a few of us in the north Dallas area that have common interest. My riding windows are usually 7-noon on weekend days and I'm happy to ride with folks, been out through your area many times.

      @Robert White Photography picked up my Valk new in '99, then had a close call when my oldest was born and she sat mothballed for 15 years. Got her running again just over two years ago and I'm enjoying the riding more now than I ever have.
      Looking at Wings for a long haul bike. The Valk will eat up miles, but not like I imagine a Wing will. My goal is to ride Key West to Pudhoe Bay Alaska in a few years, with an east coast and west coast ride in the years leading up. I have summers off from education for rides now, but retirement is only a year away and more time for adventures.

    Noticed your tire pressure light was on. Mine was when I picked up my 2022 DCT last September and I had seen someone say it was fairly normal in the first little while. Still i thought i'd look anyway. The shop that sold it to me hadn't bothered to send a $32500 bike out with the tires pumped up to the right presure. Front was at 26lb and the rear at 30lb. I assume by now you've checked them but 36F/41R is where they should be when they're cold. The moment I did that the pressure light goes out Immediately now even before I ride. Oh and regards the seat comfort i just stuck an airhawk on mine and it does nicely where i really noticed a massive difference is when i bought a utopia backrest from Wingstuff. Wow thats a game changer. Infinetly better when you can lean against something my first bike with a back rest and its the best thing ive done to it so far.

    • @robertwhitemoto
      @robertwhitemoto  Год назад +1

      Jaggy, thank you for watching and commenting! I intend to check the air pressure soon. I’m sure it could use a little. The light goes away fairly quickly after the tires warm up. The seat is ok for now but I do intend to get the Utopia, everyone has good things to say about it!

    • @roadglide
      @roadglide Год назад

      Jaggy-
      Respectfully. FWIW. I apologize if you knew this. But…suffice it to say. The Gold Wing’s TPMS takes a moment to register correct tires pressures as Cold tires are typically low. As tires become warmed from friction from rolling resistance, pressures start to rise. My bike also shows low tire pressures at start-up. Always makes me think I need air. I do keep an eye on it as I ride as tire pressures are critical on two wheels, right. As I roll down the road, the pressures gradually rises to acceptable ranges. Then in the summer months you might also notice pressures can go above specifications. Ride safe and often. ATGATT

    • @jag1963
      @jag1963 Год назад

      @@roadglide Yes I was aware thank you I think it's unregistered untill about 16 mph. I only mentioned it to him as my tires were so low when I picked up my bike new and in addition I could see that his front sensor is reading 32lb up to 3 minutes into the video and goes to 33 after 3 minutes meaning his front tire pressure is probably a good 6lb under pressure. He keeps his bike in his garage so it might be worth him checking to see if he's starting a little low. My bike is in the garage and when cold first thing in the morning the tires still read 35 before I've moved it on a gauge I have handy.

    Great ride. You mentioned a couple times about the DCT and not having the clutch. How do you feel about the Goldwing DCT in slow speed tight turns (u-turns for example) where the friction zone of the clutch is handy in making slow tight turns?

    • @robertwhitemoto
      @robertwhitemoto  Год назад

      Gary, I have yet to execute a U-Turn, but I have no issues so far with slow speed regular turns, like in a parking lot. Now I don’t stay at slow speeds for an extended amount of time, so I don’t believe I’m stressing the auto-clutch much.

    Hello Robert, I'm just relaxing and watching some RUclips motorcycle videos. I have the same bike as you which I purchased in early July of this year. My question to you is how are you getting along with the OEM seat/saddle? Have you had it modified or you are comfortable with the stock unit from Honda? Like Cruiseman, I had my seat modified at Wingsoft, but unfortunately, I'm genuinely uncomfortable after 90 minutes in the seat. I will be removing the seat next week and shipping out to RCP in CA to get the Day Long modification. I can't tell you how anxious I am about this, but I don't this it's unreasonable to expect a comfortable ride on the World's best touring motorcycle. All the Best, James (NC)

    • @robertwhitemoto
      @robertwhitemoto  7 месяцев назад +1

      James, congrats on the bike. All great choices. I don’t care for the stock seat and I looked at RDL but thought the heat connection couldn’t be factory with them (maybe I’m wrong). But also I’ve been talking to Ultimate Seat people and they’ve sent me some samples of their materials. They get good reviews and the heat connection remains stock. I’ve put a new seat purchase on hold until 2025 as I have other things to pay for until then. I’ll be very curious how you feel about your RDL 👍🏻. Thanks for watching and commenting!!

    • @jameshales6958
      @jameshales6958 7 месяцев назад

      Robert, you can keep the stock heat with their modification, or you can take their option which has switches built into the left side of the seat and the seat heater cables hook directly to the battery. The problem with this is you need to get the jumper plug for the bike OEM harness, otherwise you will get seat heater warnings on the TFT screen. RCP told me the stock heat will continue to work fine, but it takes a little longer to warm up the seat cover as the heating element is mounted lower than the stock seat.
      I purchased the Ultimate Seat for my last bike (2015 CanAm Spyder SE6 Limited) with heating to hook up to the CanAm harness.
      I also got the Ultimate driver and passenger backrest. I thought everything was of high quality, but it did not alleviate my hip/pelvic bone pain, so I was in agony at two hours in the seat and had to take a break.
      I had a Diamond seat on my 2000 Honda Goldwing SE Anniversary and that was quite a firm seat.
      I also purchased an after market seat for my 1992 BMW K1100LT, but I can't remember who manufactured this one.
      Long story short, I've always invested in after market seats. I'll let you know how the Day Long seat works out after I get it back and tried it out for a few hours; which should be around mid-January, 2024. Like most Goldwing riders, I've added a few options to the bike and more will go on after Christmas. I'd love to do some motovlog videos and already have an Insta360 X3 camera, Instamic and Ram mounts on the bike. I've taken a couple of videos, but I definitely need some more experience with the editing. If I lived in the DFW area, I'd be knocking on your door. Finally, I love your photography and enjoy your videos. Stay safe and all the best, James.
