    Hi Dave, thanks for taking the time to make the video. I JUST moved to Nothern Colorado (Milliken), from Boston. First thing on the list is getting a 22 DCT non-touring. Rode Harleys for 30+ years. At 64 I'm ready for smooth, water cooled, effortless riding. I can see "Long Peak" every morning calling me to come ride in the Rockies!

    The black looks great HMA! You keep it sharp. The Gold Wing is very capable. You probably know the Gold Wing has been around for 40+ years. The backlit handlebar switches and console control area for low light and night riding, and that automotive level horn is awesome. Small as they may seem, they are nice safety features not found on most touring bikes. Your BMW K1600 GTL does have a great horn but never had the the backlit handlebar switches which I never understood that. Good job here. Ride safe and ride often.

    Hey Dave, I have a 2018 GW Tour DCT and love, love, love it! Live in Indian Hills, south of Golden. After getting used to DCT I'll never go back to a clutch & shifter. I agree w all your comments. Had a '16 F6B and this is a whole other level. Before the F6B had a ST1300 ABS. This GW is the best blend of both. It's not a perfect bike, but damn close! BTW I added the parking-brake interlock from Electronic Connections. It works with the kickstand sensor and will kill the engine if you try and drive off w the brake on, just like it does if you try and drive off w the kickstand down. A bit of a challenge to install (took me 3 hours) but worth the $75? bucks.

      Been on Goldwing since 1981. I absolutely love my 2018 DCT Tourer.I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed. This is the most perfect motorcycle for touring at my age. I was so hesitant about the DCT, I really just tested it to see who the hell would want one. NOT ME!!! I’ve been shifting for over 50 years. I never regretted my decision. At my age, this DCT came along at the most perfect time. It is so easy to ride and you can really lean in the curves. It is so light and nimble from the last generation wing. I’m going to ride well into my old age feeling like an 18 year old kid. To me, absolutely the best tourer on the market

      Thanks for the feedback Robert. I should have pulled back the music in the transitions as well. The odd thing is how the audio mix sounds different when working the video on a computer vs what the final playback sounds like in the final product, played on a mobile device. What sounds subtle on my Mac can turn out overbearing on the final product. I'll get it figured out eventually. Thanks!

    So the definition of a pillion is actually the position and/or seat where your passenger sits. So when you say that you ride with a pillion you are saying that you ride with seating for a passenger, therefore you always ride with a pillion.

    Looking for your experience. Thank you for the videos. I bought a 2022 DCT Goldwing with 0 miles in April 2022. During the dealer prep they overfilled the engine oil by a half quart. Discovered this due to a Strong Oil smell during stop and goes. After the Dealership corrected the issue there is now an audible tapping sound on the right side of the engine. The dealership opened a ticket with USA Honda who indicated that the fuel injector emits an audible tapping sound. The tapping sound did not exist for the first 500 miles though. Any experience you can share is appreciated. I'll check back here to see any replies. Also do you experience extremely rough downshifts at low and slow speeds? I agree the HP and Torque seems to be greater than Honda indicates. Incredible acceleration and corning for it's weight and size. Thank you for sharing your experience and videos!

    • @MileHighAdventures
      @MileHighAdventures  2 года назад +3

      Hey Tricia! Sorry to hear you are having issues with your new Goldwing. I have no noticeable clicking or tapping from my engine. It is purrs as smooth as a kitten. Tapping, clicking or chatter always makes me think of valve alignment issues. Good thing you have a written history of your issues with Honda as things progress. Besides being in Sport mode.. I dont notice any aggressive shifting either. Best of luck to you in your resolution and ride safe!

    I have to disagree with plenty of room for the pillion. My soon to be wife is 5’7 and she was very cramped on the 18 that I test drove. My 14 had almost a foot between us but the 18 had her right up against me. Unless the newer models got stretched, I did not enjoy two up on it.

      Hey Greg.. yea .. this is my first GW.. so maybe the earlier models had even more back seat space.. compared to my previous bikes,, the 21 feels like a F150 Crew Cab.. 😆

      Back in ‘86, Suzuki mounted the Cavalcade top case on adjustable rails. Moved about three inches. Passenger could pull the lever and adjust the spring loaded box at any time. Don’t know any mfg doing that now, but still cost 3x as much as the ‘Cade.

      Hey William! Im in love with my blacked out 2021 GW. The other color schemes are a bit much for me with all the shiny bits. This is my first Gold Wing, so Im not sure about the relative seat comfort, but I find my 2021 very comfortable and with the added Ultimate Seat backrest.. I have never been so comfortable on any previous bike. Thanks for the comment!
