NEW 2024 Ford Ranger, and some Motorcycle Talk !!
Why INNOVV instea and of Garmin? I'm in the market and trying to determine which one is best.
Robert that is a very valid point. The Garmin is only recently launched and I’ve reached out to Innovv highlighting the advantages. If I were choosing right now, it would be the Garmin.
I use the Honda Rebel to commute from NYC to Baltimore daily! No problems at all! So it is much more than a putt putt around town bike!
@@whammo11224 I can see that!! Thanks for watching.
Hey Robert, I have that system, and one side of my wire was crushed. Lewis at Electrical Connection in Knoxville was able to cut and repair my system. 🙏🏽 Great video! Keep up the good work! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Stretch, thank you so much for watching and commenting. I have heard great things about Electrical Connections! It's a bit of a drive for me :-) Thank you for the kind words and Ride Safe !!
I like the new placement of the indicator lights better. Magnet idea was perfect. I am starting to use more magnets for a variety of things.
Yes I think this is going to work! Now to clean up somehow that birds nest under the seat…
I'll be curious to hear your thoughts about the placements of those indicator lights after you ride with them for a little while. It looked to me like they might be a little bit outside the field of vision for a quick glance while looking at the mirror.
Hey guys how about an update on how you like the system, its pro's and con's, also an update on your airbag vests, do you still wear them? etc
Looks good. Could you put a pull string on the wire from under the seat, if you need to remove the indicator lights then you could pull the wire back under the seat? Well, your idea is better, never mind LOL, and it looks great. I'm looking at the F1 dash cam, how do you disconnect it when changing the rear tire? It is 1 deg. now and going lower, won't be riding anytime soon, I am depressed, LOL Come on spring. Be safe.🏍🛵
Kevin, I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it. Stay warm and thank you for watching!!
Great video! I just received the INNOVV RC6 Third Eye with Dashcam kit. I really like your solution to use magnets to hold the indicator lights in place. I see you have the Traxxion Axxion Camera Mount. I have it as well, and I was just wondering if there is enough clearance with the mirror folded in. Sorry. I couldn't tell in the video. It was tough camera angle. I think I will mount the indicator lights the same way once the weather warms up. I am nervous with it being so cold here that I might crack the panels if I were to remove them now. Plus, I still need to get primary drive bolt recall done too.
Paul I did check that clearance with the mirror folded in and I believe it will clear… then it dawned on me, if I need to fold the mirrors in, I’ll just pull off the indicator lights and let them hang down. I love the action mount 👍🏻. Thanks for watching and ride safe!
Wisdom gained from knowledge, born from experience(s). Great that you are happy and now have your blind spot indicators back in-service. Traxxion’s rear mounting plate is clean. All hardware looks great perched there. Creative thinking in the use magnetic tape. Having done those side panels of few times you quickly & carefully dispatched them like a pro! Love the workbench set up too. Jarvis looks fantastic Robert. The sound was impeccable. Nice job again. Thanks for sharing.
Road Glide! You picked up on everything! Thank you for the kind words, the gifts towards my work station, and for goodness sake, always being positive… a skill that has eluded some! See you again soon my friend 🙏🏻
@@robertwhitemoto Your work at large are gifts from the gifted & talented. Thank you as well kind sir. God bless you. 🙏🏻
Good to see you got that squared away. That's one option I want when I purchase my GW. Of course, if you buy a 25, maybe I could purchase J.A.R.V.I.S! 🙂
I’ve purchased my last bike, but otherwise certainly 😁. Thank you for watching David. 🙏🏻
Hi Robert, your new mic sounds great! I think that this is a nice safety feature and I am glad that you have it operational again. I have the Innovv RC6 which is a combination blind spot detector and forward and backward camera system sitting on a shelf waiting for warmer weather so that I can install it. I am not looking forward to taking off the middle cowl but I do have Cruiseman's videos to guide me. Ride safely, my friend!
Let me know if you would like help with that… I’ve done it a few times :-) thank you for watching Tom 🙏🏻
Magnetic install.... yes Sir. Robert, I like it. Cool idea and should be a nice solution to your wiring connector location issues. Well thought out, you clever fellow. Two weeks ago I also picked up the dji Mic Mini set. Have not tested them yet but have some ideas about what i want to do. Your audio sounded great. Thanks for sharing the information. Enjoy your day.
Hello Larry! Thank you for watching and I completely agree, the sound quality out of such a small unit is pretty dang good. Thank you for watching!’
Sound is great.. Question could you put the light on the dashboard or just below it instead of the mirror ? On the silver strip or just above the speakers?
Don you could mount it almost anywhere. You just want to make sure it’s visible when riding. Thank you for watching
Good morning, Robert-enjoyed watching this episode of your re-install of the Innovv Blind Spot device. Great job of coming up with the magnet idea to secure and mount. Your new DJI mini mic works really well, and I think your audio quality for this type of video is an improvement! Minus 13 degrees below zero here this morning. Tomorrow, we get a bit of a warmup to 21 degrees!
Mark thank you for watching. Oof -13 that’s definitely stay inside weather. I was pleased with the DJI mic mini. Sound was very good for such a small form factor.
Always great when there are no spare parts and you still have all your tools!😂
Tom, funny you bring that up. Not on camera, when I pulled off the right side middle cowl, I found a pry tool from months ago … 😳😂🤣🙏🏻
Had to make a u-ture once to pick up my 1/4" drive rachet.. my favorite. Couldn't just leave it. 😆
The audio is great, Robert. Of course, coffee is a requirement. 50% of those blindspot issues can be resolved with your throttle...lol. magnetic tape was very creative. Good video, Robert.
Thank you my friend. It’s just another layer of safety. And yes, I know how to twist that throttle 😁🙏🏻
Wise...not drilling holes before you KNOW exactly what you want and need. (I know those who have and then kick themselves later)
Tom thank you for watching… yeah that cable tucks up nicely along the base of the trunk. This unit does have its limits and I might be changing it out in the future.
Love the photo of your Goldwing.
Thank you! And thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thanks for the video Robert. I hope it works well. It’s another sub freezing day here.🥶 Stay warm. 😉
Mike thank you. It’s just another layer of safety. Thank you for watching!
Mic sounds good. Glad you have the blind spot detection system back on.
Thank you Kevin. Another layer of safety, even if it’s not perfect.
Nice reinstall Robert ...
@@2upblacktopriders thank you sir 🙏🏻
Sound is great. If i remember correctly, it doesn't detect if YOU are passing a car? According to the Garmin website, their product, it detects whether passing or being passed. It is a more expensive product but that to me is key. There is also a visual representation that can be viewed on a phone or GPS. With my trailer attached, that would be huge.
All good points and has been my criticism of the unit from the start… if you are overtaking, it won’t register that vehicle in the blind spot. Even the Innovv execs recognize the advantage of the Garmin. I’m not sure how viewing on a phone would help those pulling a trailer unless the radar unit is self contained and transmits via Bluetooth or something such that you could mount it wirelessly to the back of the trailer.
If you remember i use my dash cam now viewing though an old phone with no service, when connected to wifi cell service is no longer available (at least on android) I have used that system as a rear view camera (mirror) for directly behind me for about 8 months love it. The Garmin has an app that put up a visual representation of what the radar sees, also if you are using a Garmin GPS. I'll mount the radar transistor up where I have my rear view camera mounted. It will JUST clear the top of my unigo trailer. The big thing is the over talking reception. I commute 84 miles almost every day to help take care of my mom. There are times I have to say be damn the fuel economy and run hard. In the traffic that I am in something like this would be a great safety addition. As always great video. I've been thinking about the dji mini . My problem is every video I've made for some reason I say "um" a lot. I've annoyed even myself 😅. I'm trying to figure out how to not do that.
Hello Robert sounds good thanks again for sharing
Art I agree and I’m happy about that. They do an amazing job for such a small form factor! Thank you for watching!
Reminds me of the old days of riding. Work on them all week just to ride on weekends
Agree Vic! Thank you for watching.
I am looking at the Innovv Third Eye blindspot monitor that you did have on your bike. Can you tell me the length of wire from where the wire comes out of the fairing to the indicators?
Mark as much or as little as you need. There is plenty of excess. I have a video coming out tomorrow where I install (for a second time) this unit. Also about 9 months ago I did a comprehensive review on the product so go look for that.
Praying for you and your family. ✝️
Bob, thank you.
I wore Frank Thomas Gore-tex motorcycle gauntlet gloves, steel toe boots to prevent wind penetration, and a Stream Liner vest from Vanson Leathers. Leather chaps and wool socks. A full-face helmet with a balaclava scarf. And 40 F is okay to ride if it's sunny out. Ride safe!
@@johnsalvi9073 great setup 👍🏻
The coldest I’ve been riding in is 16*f. I was in Winnipeg and had to go home. I hunkered down and hoped for the best. I also would ride when it was like 26*f in Dallas but it was only 6 miles to work. I’m currently in Montana working unfortunately. It’s currently 8*f here with snow all day
@@F6B_ADVENTURES wow… seriously cold stuff. Keep warm bud! See you sometime soon next time you’re home.
God bless you Robert. God bless your beautiful family. Faith rewarded. The concept of "Faith Rewarded" is a central theme throughout the Bible, illustrating the principle that trust and belief in God lead to divine blessings and fulfillment of His promises. Thank you kind sir for the shout out. You are indeed special. Our community is special. For me Winter riding is most enjoyable above 40. Tom is a road warrior. Respect! 🙏🏻 Warm gear includes Klim fleece base layer under my Klim armored K52 riding jeans. Have several pairs. The top gets a balaclava under the helmet, cycling or skiing style thin fleece base layer under my leather lined jacket with then a leather vest keeps it all supportive & snug. On Leather-If it’s been long good enough for the cattle that roam the high plains in winter it’s good enough for a human. The abrasion protection is on another level as well. Down to my Daytona Roadstar boots gets Klim wool knee high compression socks. Another stellar editing & presentation video. Best outcomes, good health and safe keepings in God’s name to you, your family and our community. Amen. 🙏🏻
@@roadglide not only do you have a great setup for keeping warm but also staying healthy with proper support etc. that’s some high end layers you have there. 40 is my cutoff as well. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel. Talk to you again soon 👍🏻🙏🏻
I get a 7 day weekend every week!
@@threedogracing awesome!! Someday 😁 thank you for watching.
I bought my 2006 Honda Goldwing last yr. Feb 3. And it was 38 to 39. On my way home. Ans I was fine. I'm Alan shriver. From jefferson. Ia
Alan welcome to the channel. I hope you find a place you can return for some good entertaining Goldwing content. Thank you for watching!
@robertwhitemoto i totally love my Goldwing
Hey mate, To stop the stand attachment from coming loose add a mild thread lock tight it goes on as a liquid, there are different strengths from permanent to a mild hold, obviously use the temporary mild lock tight 👍
Thank you. I did start using mid-strength loc-tight on it. Thank you for watching.
Good morning, Robert....from a very chilly Plymouth, Wisconsin. Over the next couple of days, Mother Nature is providing us with her Polar Vortex blast as a late Christmas gift! Right now, it is -1 degrees. No riding here, as Larry (Gold Wing Moments) and I are in the same predicament in this part of the world. Most importantly, blessings and prayers to your family as you navigate and help them through the health challenges you mention. They are lucky to have you and your guidance. Take care.
Oh my Mark, that is amazingly frigid!! Thank you my friend for the prayers… both my wife and my 18yr old son need them and appreciate them!
Well thanks Robert for that comprehensive list of accessories, I seen a few I would like to add to my 2021 Goldwing....Javi G.
Javi, you are most welcome. This afternoon I’m putting the Innovv Blind spot detection system back on the bike.
Robert those belly pan bolt allen heads strip out fairly easy if overtightened, not the threads but the head itself where the allen wrench goes, these little bolts are relatively soft and round off and if you use lock tight that might just cause those allen heads to round off as well, it happened to me on my 2021 and had a hell of a time getting one out, all you have to do is check them once in a while and carry extras always, I found replacements at Ace Hardware very cheap and I now have 10 in my trunk, also after draining oil completely, I put in exactly 4/9 quarts and it's always perfect....Javi G.
Javi thank you for watching and for the tips! I will see how tight they are. I only used medium loc tight. I like your method and might switch to it on the next oil change.!
Looks like it was a great day to ride. I don't have any high-end gear, but I really would like a heated seat. My bike has good grip warmers, and I have heated gloves. I usually just layer up, and will ride into the high 20s and low 30s as long as the roads are clear. I will be praying for your family, they don't cost anything, and the benefits are substantial. Have a great day! Kevin
Thank you 🙏🏻 and thank you for watching and supporting the channel. 20/30 you are a better biker than me. 40 is typically my cutoff. Ride safe and stay warm my friend!
Good morning Robert, do you always setup your suspension settings when you switch between 1 or 2 riders I’m of the habit of leaving it set to 2
Good morning Brian and thank you for watching. When my wife rides with me (rare) I do change the suspension, otherwise I leave it alone.
The cold front for us is a few hours behind you all but coming just the same. I would much rather be an accountant in freezing weather. My company is all about equipment and water, so freezing is a royal PIA, but we expect to survive as we have in the past. After 2021, it will be child's play. Prayers for you and your family. Ride safe, my friend, and stay warm!
David, thank you 🙏🏻
Pour 200 ml’s of the 5th Qt of oil into a measuring cup. Then pour rest into the engine. Oil level should be perfect.
Sergeant, thank for the tip... and thank you for watching !!
Nice relaxed ride. I will ride down to 34F on dry days. I have a Gerbing 12V jacket liner with integrated gloves and pants. I put on a good motorcycle jacket over the liner with neck gaiter and with the Wing's heated grips I get by with plain leather gloves down to 40F and plug in the Gerbings below that or at high speeds. Have never used the pants since core heat results in warm legs and feet using tall boots with good socks. I do use flannel lined heavy work jeans and an underlayer if needed. I had a heated seat on my 1290 KTM but disliked it even on a low heat setting. The wing has good cold protection on the legs without deflectors (can't used them due to hwy pegs, large frame and long legs). Being originally from 62N latitude probably helps me also! Problem here in New England is the roads are salted and that ends my riding. Looking at 4-10 " snow Sunday night. Will use my Gerbing 7V heated vest and 7V gloves on my non-cab AWD tractor loader. God Bless you and your family and remember to pray before going to sleep. I shall.
JG thank you so very much. Clearly you know your way around staying warm! I wish I could sympathize with your tall person problems but sadly... #shortguy :) Thank you for watching today !! Stay warm and Ride Safe.
Hi Robert, thank you for taking us along with you on your ride to and from work! Thank you for the shout out! I do not have far to go to work, less than 3 miles so I will ride in the 20s if there is no ice or snow on the road. For a longer trip, I prefer it to be above 40s. I am sure that January is very busy for you as an accountant. I use an accountant to do my corporate federal taxes once a year but I do the rest of the work myself. As you know, in January you have to do quarterly tax filings, file W3 with the IRS and prepare W2 forms for employees. It is difficult dealing with aging parents. I have already gone through that season in life as both of my parents and parents-in law have passed. I will be praying for you and your family for healing for health issues and for wisdom and patience in dealing with aging parents and other family members. May the peace of God surround you in every situation!
Tom, a special thank you from me. For the friendship, faith, fun and fellowship. 20's good grief, you are a legit iron man and a better biker than me for sure :) Thank you for watching today and always supporting the channel.
Come spring time let’s get you Cruise Man gold Ryder one and do the Dragon
Yes !!!🙌
I don’t own any heated gear so my limit is 30 degrees. The other day I rode when it was in the mid 20’s and my fingertips were frozen with possible mild frostbite by the time I got to work, as they burned the rest of the day. I have a Bilt mesh jacket with the liner, thermal pants and shirt, wind blocking glove liners with heavier waterproof Bilt gloves, and then usually a sweater or sweatshirt. I have both my heat settings usually at 5. Between the gloves, liner and grip puppies, I don’t feel that much heat from the grips unfortunately. I was out of town for breakfast this month. Looking forward to February’s breakfast.
Jody !! Welcome back... and my goodness frostbite... dude get rid of any covers on your grips. Yeah 40 is my cutoff, it's doable below but like I said, just not fun anymore. Look forward to seeing you again at breakfast, and thank you for tuning in today !!
I rode for a day yesterday in 35F temps, but 35 in Utah is not 35 in Texas Layering with minimal bulk I learned from backpacking is the trick. My cold weather gear from inside out: LDComfort base layer, Hotwired heated jacket liner, Klim Zephyr wind breaker, Klim Rally airbag vest (obviously not for warmth), Kilimanjaro jacket. Also Warm n Safe Ultimate Touring heated gloves, thermals under my riding jeans, merino wool socks, and down hoodie in my top case if I need it. I have done multi-day cold weather trips this way and it works. There is better gear out there for sure, but I’ve had most of this stuff for years, so this is what I use.
Wow Mark... I don't know about better gear, that's some top shelf stuff you have there. And that layering wow... worked for me in Iceland and I'm sure you stay toasty warm. Thank you Mark for tuning in today and supporting the channel.
It has been pieced together from trial and error (mostly error) over the years to equip myself for LD touring.
Good morning Robert. High’s here in Tennessee will be in the 20’s Monday and Tuesday. My cut off is 40. Stay safe and warm. Thanks for sharing. I always your videos.
Thank you Mike, 40 is my cutoff as well. I appreciate you tuning in today and supporting the channel !!
Robert I will be praying for you and your family. God is good and hears our petitions.
Thank you Mike 🙏🏻
Mornin Robert ... Bob in Southern Ohio , prayers for the Family.
Morning Sir ! Thank you for tuning in today and supporting the channel. Ride Safe !!
That is why I like my progressive lenses.
LTMY I tried that for a short time (probably way too short) and it wasn't for me. Many folks like them however! Thank you for watching today! Stay safe !!
And, prayer team at it for the White family.
Thank you Eric! very much appreciated. And thank you for watching today! God Bless.
Good morning Robert. Today I will begin by sending prayers for your family. May God Bless you all and help you through difficult times. Hello beck from your shoutout. Your list was long and I was amazed at how many of those channels I follow on their journeys. Awesome community of people. Hope you never got too cold on your Friday ride. My riding season usually finishes at the end of October and starts up again around late April. Canadian bikes like to sleep for a long time. lol. Hope you have a terrific weekend.
Oh Larry... Oct to April is a long time, my condolences sir... no wonder you make good use of the time available to you up there. Thank you my friend for watching today and for supporting the channel. !!!
Howdy Robert. We will be in the negative range on temps, starting late Sunday, going through, maybe Wednesday. I'll trade you thoughts temps LOL. I would go to work in the 35-degree range if the temps were to get up in the high 50s, but in my case, I only had 7 miles one way so by the time you got cold you were there. Your TPMS. was barking at you as is expected in the low temps. I corrected that with Nitrogen in the tires. Having spent most of my life in and around the HVAC industry, I have my own tank, so the cost is not very high. I can get the tank refilled for the cost of one tire fill that a tire shop will charge.,and get many tires filled. It's not practical for most riders. It doesn't leak out as fast as regular air, which is full of moisture, which vaporizes and then leaks out. and I think the water is the problem with having to add air all the time. I am not an expert on this, so grab the salt shaker.LOL, My 02 VTX.1800 R, didn't have heated anything either, but I was younger then and didn't feel the cold like I do now. Sorry for being long-winded, with all the snow we got,15.5 in total, and cooped up with the finance comity for the last week I needed to, well !!! I need to go someplace to get something now that the snow is melting LOL Be safe.🛻🏍
Hey Kevin! Boy I know not to argue temps with most folks as we are pretty blessed here in Texas. It is a bit irritating that when I air up to 41 it always seems to leak back down to 36 ish. I've had nitrogen in car tires before so I understand the benefits.. and I may go there some day. My VTX 1800R was a 2004. Stay safe and warm my friend !! Until next time...
Another good video Robert! Might wanna check that tire pressure! That cold weather don’t sound fun, we had a few days of 50’s here and we also had snow once but it melted off the same day! Have a good one, Ride On!
@@Woodzman yeah these dang tires… no many how often I air up to 41… they bleed back down to 36 ish… hot or cold. Thanks for watching today and ride safe!
@ yeah mine do the same and I have a dark side Perelli on the rear
@@Woodzman Thank you Woodzy!!
Hey Robert, just like you, I'll ride if it's above 40 degrees and the roads are dry. I'm snug like a bug in a rug with my winter undergarment, my heated vest and a fleece balaklava with grips & seat to desired settings. My Goldwing is presently in Mississippi and if I decide to fly down to join it at the end of the month, I hope to make it on Feb.2nd. But I'm looking at the weather and this cold front might delay my trip a week or two. Looks like you forgot to tie your helmet after lunch! My 🙏 go out to you and your friends and family brother. Take care.
Jimmy, keen eye but that was a draw string to the black hoodie I was wearing! I shouldn’t complain about cold to you friends up north !! Thank you for watching today! See you again soon.
