0500 is the the hour some of the cool cats come out to escape the metro area traffic to get a ride in. If you’re lucky enough some of them are aboard those much talked about Formula One style DCT Gold Wing Touring bikes. Be there or be no where. Innov will likey will update from input from Pro’s like you Robert. Motorcycle Radar and video documenting is a hot market. Thank you for your tenacity with these install attempts. Come on Iceland!
Hey there Robert, thanks for the update on your INNOVV Third Eye Blind Spot Detection System. With a little luck the company will make changes to their product and maybe send you out some sort of repair kit. You can always hope! Don't give up on the company without giving them a little time to investigate your issue. Very informative video my friend. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Sweet video, Robert. I am looking to order one. I do lots of HWY rides and its needed. To comment on the mounting, I think we can find plenty of space off the mirror to mount them without using the mirror stem. Good velcro with heavy duty adhesive should be fine. I would stay away from the mirror area. It will be a challenge for INNOVV to come up with a mini plug due to the size of the wires. They will need to deal with many warranty issues from customer who broke these wires due to handling. Enjoy our amazing bikes. I love riding it at night. The lighting and headlight are fantastic.
alp, thanks for watching. INNOVV has already developed the connectors... they just put them too far down on the wire. They need to move them up near the indicator lights. I hear you about mounting them away from the mirrors. I just haven't found a place I like for that.
If enough Innov customers comment on any weakness in their product then they will have to act. Looking forward to your Iceland journey. There's good art at Keflavik airport, Jet Nest and Rainbow are examples if you get the chance. Not to mention the spectacle of Aurora Borealis. Bon voyage!
Robert, I’m currently installing several more modifications to my 2023 GL1800 DCT Tour to include Innovv Blind Spot monitoring and the VanTrue F1 Dash Cam. I’ve also installed Traxxion’s rear fender shelf to support the rear camera and radar unit. I hope to have the bike back together this coming week, so I can send you some photos, especially where I’m locating the Innovv indicators. Enjoy Iceland. I was there several years ago, in fact it was Xmas Eve/Day and it’s like landing on the moon. Very windy up there. I hope the M4 chip has improved since the M1 as I was not too keen on its performance and compatibility with some apps/programs. I never had an issue with my Intel chip equipped MacBook Pro laptops. I just wish Apple would lengthen their support time periods as these are not inexpensive machines.
Hi Robert-Enjoyed reviewing your latest video. Thank you. Let me go in reverse order. 1. Have a great trip to Iceland. I'll look forward to those images on your other channel! 2. The Mac Books are great machines for sure, though I suspect that Apple does build an "age out" plan for all their devices. 3. Sorry that the INNOVV solution turned out the way it did. There will be another option sometime. Best regards.
Those wires I believe are enamel coated on the individual strands. A solvent like acetone can dissolve the enamel so it can be soldered to a connector. Only remove whats needed. I would also use a connector with a built in strain relief. Yes that stuff is a royal pain to work on.
Hi Robert, sorry about the problem you are having with the radar detector. I believe that you will love your new Macbook Pro. I use a M1 Macbook Air from 2000. I plan to upgrade in 2025 or 2026. I am excited for you for your trip to Iceland. Ride safely!
My velcro dots (actually ovals) arrived the other day. They will certainly do the job of securing the sensors to the mirrors and peeling off as opposed to the 3M tape. Unfortunately I won't be doing the install until spring when the weather warms up here in Canada. Rona in Canada sells this product: Velcro Hook and Loop Fasteners - 1/2-in W x 1 1/4-in. in a 40 pack. I also have the Muth mirrors with the turn signal indicators and the ATL-BIK folding mirrors, so lots of wires, but not difficult to remove the mirrors.
That is interesting. It does not work when you overtake a car. I ride a lot in rush hour, very heavy, traffic, and I overtake as much as I am overtaken. I agree 100% that the system needs to work in both directions. That is a deal breaker. Working half the time is not worth $300. Thanks for that information. That is something I haven't heard before. It must be part of the radar recognition. That's a huge flaw. Especially if compared to a system in my cars. That's the functionality I was expecting. I think I'll stick with using my F1 dash cam and an old cellphone as the display. Setting it on preview mode showing the rear camera. The only issue with that is the sun washing out the phone display. I did just get my replacement front camera in on Friday and I installed it yesterday. Again thanks for talking about getting your replacement cable from vantrue.
Robert sooner or later some of the premium brand motorcycles will come with blind spot monitoring. Yes apple products I’m convinced are designed to fail forcing you to shell out more cash but they are much better than the other ones.

We need the blind spot detection, please keep us involved. Have you given any thought to replacing the upper air detectors?
Gary will do. I have thought about the Honda brand upper deflectors, just haven’t pulled the trigger yet!!

Chris, the northern lights are the primary reason for my trip. They are at the top of my photography bucket list right now. Thanks for watching!! 🙏🏻

James, agree! Congrats on the add ons !!

No good solution until Innov repositions the connectors closer to the mirrors.

My pleasure Devin and I agree, that radar needs to pick up a car if it’s in the blind spot field period, doesn’t matter how it got there…
Planned obsolescence is totally a real thing with computers and phones!
I believe it !
I would be interested in pricing for your used MacBook Pro if you sell it.
Bob, thank you for watching. My old laptop is already spoken for.

I agree Rodney!!
It’s already out there. I think Ducati has it on some of their bikes. I think the BMW GS also has it.
