As a professional furniture conservator in private practice for over 50 years, I want to say that I was impressed with your video, your humility and the results. I started watching this video because I thought the chair was beyond repair. You did a fantastic job. I feel your pain when the crest did not fit, but you solved the problem. And I appreciate your shot of the Old Brown Glue, which I developed and now sell internationally. My best wishes for future projects.

Old Brown Glue (hide glue) would have been a good choice for the other glued joints too (but not the repairs) , rather than polyurethane. I buy it here in Canada from Lee Valley.

I will never take on challenges of this sort, but greatly appreciate your doing so because you always share your journey and your thinking. So much of it is potentially applicable to my own little refinishing adventures.

no excuses need to be made. You did an amazing job, starting basically nothing and ending up with a work of art. Thanks.

This was the biggest problem item with the most difficult and complex repair job I believe you’ve done to date! And it turned out just MAGNIFICENTLY! If I hadn’t watched the whole process, I’d have sworn you went and got an exact replica from a museum! Well done, Jay! I am gobsmacked!❤
