What an amazing restoration. That piece looks beautiful. If folks still hand land lines and wall phones, then this would be perfect next to it. One could even store the phone books in the drawer.

This is the true meaning of the word restoration. You have repaired and reused original parts and really done this piece justice. It is beautiful. I loved the way you used the drill to sand round bits😂. Great to see this piece good for a few more decades.

I thought it was a commode. The space for the reading materials was where the bowl should have been. I learned something new, and enjoyed a great restoration video. Narragansett Bay.

Ich bin wieder erstaunt, was du aus diesem Möbel, dass eigentlich schon ein Totalschaden war, wieder herausholen konntest. Ich hatte früher bei meinen Aufarbeitungen Glück, dass ich die Stücke nie komplett zerlegen musste. Mit Polster hast du ja schon deine Erfahrungen gemacht. Das Video passt wunderbar zu einem entspannten Sonntag morgen. 👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks very much. Both pieces are with the same person. My wife wanted to keep the chair for guests and the stool as decoration. Both of them are in our house now. 😔

you did a good job. I suggest lemon + salt for cleaning copper and brass. I personally use them, they give a good result

@@chrigunrestauration Personally, I would recommend the copper and brass cleaner from Poliboy.
It also conserves the metal by applying a thin layer of wax on it.

@@chrigunrestauration They have the one for all metals and then a specialized one for brass and copper.
But I have to admit I wrote the comment before watching this part of the video and seeing that you used indeed a Poliboy product.
And the ingredients in both what you used and what I meant are very similar, so it might still not have worked or may have needed additional polishing bodies. Elsterglanz maybe?
@@johannageisel5390 I've never tried that. But I'll try once I've used up the Polyboy products. My drawer is bursting at the seams. 😀

Great job as usual. The only thing I would do differently is to recover the seat in a pattern that more closely resembled the original since you couldn't reuse the original fabric. But that is my own personal taste. Your choice works very well.
😀 The fabric was still available from a chair project. Since both pieces of furniture are in our house, it looks consistent.
