@@FlippingdrawersGreetings from New Castle Delaware USA. Here's a Special Request: Please repurpose an old piece of furniture into a bedside table with a mini-rotating bookcase on top and gooseneck reading lamp and slot for pens and glasses. ⛽ Repurposing furniture is the MOST INTERESTING thing wood workers do! *You could also build a custom cat bed so your cat would be at the same level as your pillow. 😂
I'm 🤯! You treat a humble outdoor garden bench like fine furniture! Your neighbor is a very lucky lady, indeed! Bless you for your thoughtfulness. 👏🏻❤️👏🏻
What a good way to give a second life to those chairs... I congratulate you for the good work and for a magnificent result; very creative and practical..! Greetings from Ecuador!!!
That bench turned out to be very beautiful. I love the way you include the cat in the videos, and especially how she comes to inspect the progress of whatever your working on, and then when it's finished, she comes back to give it the final check and paw of approval. She really loves hanging out with you in your workshop - everyone should have a shop cat as an assistant.
I love this transformation! You turned some inexpensive IKEA chairs into something beautiful. Your neighbor must love it! Your supervisor seems to approve😺
That spalted beech belongs in an art museum!!!....the bench really came out beautiful!!!.....such an improvement over that Ikea crap!!!....the cat really adds that touch of homeyness to it!!!....great job!!!.... fantastic video, too!!! ....
Delightful bench. I have a couple of older chairs and this has inspired me to use them for a garden bench. Thank you. The spalted beach is very pretty. Your neighbor is blessed to have someone so handy and giving next door.
BEAUTIFUL WOOD!! Not only as a garden bench, but on a porch, or patio. Or, because the wood is so exquisite , it could even be used indoors in an entryway to use while putting boots on.
What a great idea and the result was a wonderfully stunning bench that looked to be very sturdy too, perfect for your elderly neighbour. I am positive she loved it and will likely use it every day she is able too. Thank you f of r being so thoughtful and considerate to your neighbour 😊xx
A beautiful bench and a beautiful model to show it off too 🥰 I've never seen spalted wood before. Isn't it amazing the patterns left behind on wood caused by trauma basically. The spalting being caused by fungus and burled wood also scars from a battle with a viral or fungal infection. And those battles leave the wood all the more beautiful and interesting to look at. I find it fascinating. Great job on this Jay as always. Thanks for sharing.
I love how the oil you used on the wood really makes the grain pop!! Your neighbor will love this bench to sit and admire her lovely yard on. Hopefully the cats and your neighbor will be able to work out an amicable schedule to share the bench!!
Very nice gift for your neighbor... sure she will enjoy it. I have been wanting to make a bench like that. Cute fur babies. . Beautiful and the kitty matches the color.... make a nice combo. 😂.
That turned out beautiful. The wood you choose really was highlighted with the wax. Your neighbor is going to love it and will enjoy a seat in her garden.
You always strive for perfection, and this is another example. I wonder what your neighbor's reaction was when you gave it to her. Also, I am in love with the cat. 😊
Oh my goodness I absolutely love it. Never heard of that type of wood but it’s so beautiful with all its different patterns. I also like the idea you filled in the parts with the resin. You did a magnificent job on taking 2 chairs n turning it into a great looking bench. Your so kind to do this for a neighbor. She’s going to be thrilled. Wish you had a video to share when you gave it to her. I would love see her expression on her face. I’m not a real cat lover but I’ve fallen love with the kitty that comes around to you. He or she is so cute n fluffy n I think she thinks you made the bench for her/him. Your truly amazing at what you do with throw aways. Don’t stop doing what you do, please. ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟🌟🌟
So glad you removed the bottom slat on the back. Made all the difference. I love it and when I first started watching I was thinking well this isn’t going to look like much. You showed me. You’re very talented.
That spalted beech is amazing! Kitty was a great model. You are a good kitty sitter. His owners don't have to worry about Hugo getting the proper attention. Making the bench a gift is wonderful.
A wood turner that I also follow often uses spalted wood for bowls and other creations. I love how Mother Nature starts the process with such beautiful wood and you artisans complete it! I'm sure your neighbor will love it.
What a nice solution for those two chairs ! A nice little garden bench and it look so amazing after you put this all together. I hope you neighbor like this bench ! Love your videos and your creativity by each new rebuild !!
This transformation is great! We actually have these chairs from Ikea, which come as a set with 4 chairs and a table in our kitchen. We got them 5 years ago for $159. They are solid wood, and are holding up well. If I ever need benches, I’ll know what to do! The spalted wood is exquisite!
Love, Love the wood. In Canada, when our maple trees get a certain disease, it's called Bird's Eye Maple. It's very beautiful too and worth a lot of money. Beautiful craftsmanship....as usual. Enjoy all your videos.🇨🇦🍁
Love to see junk turned into beautiful useful items. Those cats are so friendly,. And you certainly have their approval of your creation. The wood grain is gorgeous.
As amazing as the bench was, that adjustable wall shelf system using the scrap from the seat is wicked clever. Two ugly old chairs transformed into two extremely useful things for the pleasure and comfort of your neighbor and yourself. Well done. 👏👏
Beautiful! Just picked up two old chairs to give that project a try. Got them home and really looked at them and one chair is taller than the other, lol
Hi Jay, what a beautiful creation and a beautiful thought for your neighbor. The colors and patterns of the wood so pretty. Till next time, Joyce. USA. 🇺🇸🙏❤️
Beautiful bench and markings. You were very detailed with every step. I like the jig to drill on a narrow piece of wood. The cat wanted to show her beautiful markings too. I think she will often be on the bench or under it in the shade. She will happily share the bench with any cat person.
Kitty says "it is worthy of my approval". I say it's beautiful! I want one! I have only seen 2 chair benches made with them facing each other. This is much more practical. ❤
You could have put that gorgeous spalted birch on an old stump and no one would notice! The pattern and color are mesmerizing! Wood fascinates me with its complexity and durability and endless uses!! I think you get that too😘. I so look forward to your wonderful videos!
The bench turned out beautiful! Love the grain in the wood. I’m sure your neighbor will love this bench and will share with the cats!!! You are very creative
No matter who you think you made that bench for, it’s obvious the cat owns it now. 😂
Luckily for him and the nice lady, the cats are communal lol they can sit on it regardless of which house they reside
And truly, just try and tell the cat(s) to get off. Good luck with that. Beautiful, beautiful piece of outside furniture. I envy.
A wonderful sunbathing platform for the furry inspectors!
The cat knows where to go to get the belly rubs the bench is beautiful
Ya, but they change their minds a lot....lol...
Beautiful! How kind to make a bench for your neighbor. Isn’t that the best part of life? Giving to others. Tell us how she likes it. God bless you!
thank you and yes it is
The bench turned out beautiful! Your neighbor will love the bench and your kind thoughtfulness! What an awesome gift for her! Very nice 👍! 😊
'Gift'? I bet he charged the senile old biddy a thousand quid for it. LOL. Just joking...I have a warped sense of humour.
That wood grain is so beautiful! How sweet of you to do this for your neighbor. Even your shop supervisor approves! 😉
Good work and your kind heart is bubbling over with love
Beautiful, love the wood grain.
Love how all your creations are cat-approved. Can"t wait for the next one.
Received a CAT SCAN
Spalted wood is so beautiful! You definitely turned trash into treasure! I hope your neighbor loves her new bench! ❤
Thank you 😊
