      Yes, he’s also recognizing that Jay’s the leader, my cat (who was a male, too) did the same thing, bringing me the hunt trophy every time, had to train him to leave the ‘prizes’ outside the house, NOT next to my favorite chair in the living room…😂😂😂

    • @TheSecretChateau
      @TheSecretChateau 2 месяца назад +10

      Sorry but this is incorrect, as it's been disproven by vets and cat experts. They are not gifts, they are Mondo teaching Jay how to hunt.

      @@TheSecretChateau Is that why my cat liked to bring in live animals like snakes and mice? She wanted to teach me how to hunt?
      Thinking about it, wild animals teach their young to hunt by bringing small live animals to them.

    • @TheSecretChateau
      @TheSecretChateau 2 месяца назад +3

      @@Xerame506 Yes, this is why. Your cat sees that you do not hunt, so is bringing you her kills as an incentive for you to hunt too. Our vet says cats see people as cats, just ones with different abilities, and to a cat, apparently we don't have the ability to hunt. Hence the lessons posing as gifts. I've seen this also on Jackson Galaxy's youtube channel. And he seems to know everything there is to know about cats.

    Regarding your self-deprecating comment: 'because I'm a professional', maybe you haven't started as a professional (furniture restoration is a professional after all), but at this point, you are one. You've a rather large RUclips channel, and a pro-level workshop (as far as I can tell). You've been doing it for a while now, and you definitely have a lot of experience. Your work looks great, I assume that you also sell some of the pieces you're working on (or work on a commission) - so yes - you are a professional, despite not formally studying the field.

    • @furniturerevivalist9812
      @furniturerevivalist9812 2 месяца назад +5

      Not a self-deprecating comment. It rather strikes me as a sarcastic response to a previous comment regarding his skill level. All the side shows, gestures etc is an attemp to be funny. Cut all this extras out and it could be reduced to 10 minutes. Also bear in mind that the costs expended is not justified in the end. To recover all the expenses, time spent the sale price would not reflect it. The content creator's source of income is not the selling of furniture but advertising revenue, sponsorships. Everything done in the process is with the view to increase number of viewers, like and subscribes; the whole purpose is to entertain and thereby increasing revenue. The aim is not to educate.

    (Symington being a corset manifacturing company established in Leicestershire in the 1850s, that over the decades became one of the top world producer of corsetry and other garments, up until the 1980s, and today their old factory is a museum).

    My mom had a cat when she lived in the high desert in California. It once brought home a rabbit that was bigger than it was. Lol She just said "what a good kitty!" Then placed it next to his outside food dish. I never knew that cats taught other cats how to hunt until I started watching a RUclips channel about a Korean gentleman who moved to the country to get out of the ratrace, and a pregnant orange cat adopted him. When her kittens were old enough she'd bring home live prey so the kittens could practice their hunting skills.
