Regarding your self-deprecating comment: 'because I'm a professional', maybe you haven't started as a professional (furniture restoration is a professional after all), but at this point, you are one. You've a rather large RUclips channel, and a pro-level workshop (as far as I can tell). You've been doing it for a while now, and you definitely have a lot of experience. Your work looks great, I assume that you also sell some of the pieces you're working on (or work on a commission) - so yes - you are a professional, despite not formally studying the field.

Amazing!! I propose a new name for this: the Symington Bookcase (Symington being a corset manifacturing company established in Leicestershire in the 1850s, that over the decades became one of the top world producer of corsetry and other garments, up until the 1980s, and today their old factory is a museum). I'm so glad Mando is feeling better. I'd call this a MCM bookcase with modern touches. Your trip looks like it had gorgeous views. Super relaxing to work 😊😊
The bookcase is mid-century bookish. I am not a materialist, yet find myself feeling covetous of some of your glorious pieces. I hope you enjoyed your Turkish adventure ~ that smile says it all.
I love the dedication to entertainment that had you spending time putting up your hammock in the workshop. Great results with the shelves and the teeth!
I really like this piece. What an improvement! I'd describe it for the subject line as "mid-century bookshelf with elegant DIY dividers." Glad you got some time away and you're happy with the new veneers on your teeth.
Do you have any idea how funny you are when you do all the different ways of sanding? Only the fancy AF professionals do it that way 😂😂 you’re gonna add brass
I love the bookcase. The new legs and the dividers really set off the veneer. You made it upscale and very different. It's an awesome job. Well done Jay. I'm glad Mando is doing better. As far as bringing you "gifts" he is coming to you to help provide for your. It's part of his love language. I glad you had a great trip to Turkey. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

I was thinking that this might have been a dresser drawer converted into a bookself in its past life and maybe dowels were a design choice or woodworm repair. Such a wierd little piece. But after that beautiful veneer, corset dividers and those new legs its just cool AF!! So glad you didnt use wallpaper and the angled legs!!! I'd like to see a challenge between you and Angie sometime!! It would be a world class tournament of champions!!
My mom had a cat when she lived in the high desert in California. It once brought home a rabbit that was bigger than it was. Lol She just said "what a good kitty!" Then placed it next to his outside food dish. I never knew that cats taught other cats how to hunt until I started watching a RUclips channel about a Korean gentleman who moved to the country to get out of the ratrace, and a pregnant orange cat adopted him. When her kittens were old enough she'd bring home live prey so the kittens could practice their hunting skills.
We had a mommy cat bring live birds Inside the house to her kittens once 😂 that was an exciting experience lol!! We tried to take the bird away from her and she just ran outside and caught it again so we had to move her babies to the 3season porch she was Absolutely determined to get them that bird 😂
Wow, Jay the bookcase is outstandingly beautiful! Love the idea using the string lattice, matches the legs perfectly! Oh my goodness the vacation pictures are spectacular!
