Great save on the drawer fronts! I really think the wax finish on the interior of the drawers adds a lot of class to the finished work too. I also thought the factory design on the slides demonstrated a higher build quality. That was a long and worthwhile trip from trash on the street to elegant.
This is beautiful restoration work. The legs feel mismatched and the hardware is too large for such a delicate piece, however, that is a matter of personal taste. Nothing can detract from your dedication and obvious talent. This channel is a joy to watch.

I love the way this turned out! And the new hardware is perfect. Because of watching you and other furniture fixers and crafters on RUclips, I have started doing a few small projects around my house. It is encouraging to see professionals such as yourself mess up and need to redo things since I am finding many skills aren't as easy as they look. I also purchased a mouse sander to help with my small projects. Sanding isn't as easy as you make it look, either😊

Beware roaches in old damp furniture (crevices and cracks, too) Decaying wood is soft and easy to eat. Roaches can digest cellulose, allowing them to eat wood and other tree-based matter, such as paper and cardboard. Unfortunately, this means wooden furniture can be a source of sustenance. Roaches can eat paint, so treat wooden furniture with varnish.

Thomas Johnson antique furniture restoration says that the first layer should always be shellac because the next time someone restores the furniture, it will be easier to remove the varnish or the paint except if you wax the surface. 😉 Carsten 👍

You always do such a perfect job of every piece and this is no exception. I am glad you include your “bloopers” because it happens to all of us! Wish my dad was still alive, as he made furniture in his spare time after WW2 and he would have loved your channel. I am sure it was good for his mental health too, although I didn’t realise what he had gone through at the time as I was only a kid. You always do such a perfect job of every piece and this is no exception. I am glad you include your “bloopers” because it happens to all of us! Wish my dad was still alive, as he made furniture in his spare time after WW2 and he would have loved your channel. I am sure it was good for his mental health too, although I didn’t realise what he had gone through at the time as I was only a kid. Anyway a fantastic job and I would be proud to have it in my home!🇦🇺🤗
