      As you are someone that has made this can you help, when combos are mentioned I’m not sure what that means I prefer a pattern that tells you how many rows etc at the beginning when it’s mentioned 5 combos does that mean 1 knit row 1 purl 5 times for 10 rows in total.

      +Miranda Mutsaers i used a 40 peg loom. try a 30 peg loom and adjust the pattern.
      start with the cast on and use 7 combos on 22 pegs,
      then 15 combos round the loom, decrease like the video til u get to the 5th peg instead of the 7th.
      follow the pattern til u have 3 groups of 15 combos and 16 decreases.
      bind off 7 pegs and make 6 combos.
      i haven't tried it yet, but i will once i finished this one.

    • @jagirl966
      @jagirl966 8 лет назад

      +Miranda Mutsaers i altered pattern i used is working perfectly, so far. i messed up a bit when i said "7 combos on 22 pegs" and "bind off 7 pegs and make 6 combos, i meant "4 combos on 22 pegs" and "bind off 8 pegs and make 3 combos". i used a 40 peg loom and altered it to fit a 30 peg loom. a 31 peg loom would work too.

    I really love your videos and have shown them to everyone who ask about loom knitting! My only question is I'm never sure which yarn weight to use? It looks like the bulky 5 or more? I've been experimenting some with different yarns but is there one you recommend more? BTW what I love best about your videos is there is no useless chatter so I can concentrate on what your doing instead of all the rest! Please keep them coming because they are absolutely the best videos around!

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  8 лет назад

      +Amanda Hurst hi! Thank you so much for your feedback and your nice words :) We normally use yarn recommended for knitting needles of at least 6mm (such as Katia Canada or Phildar Rapido). I guess that means weight size 5, but I am not sure since we don't have this reference in Europe. Hope this helps!

    Hi, I like this pattern very much, and currently working it. I have a question about the decrease. It was mentioned 23 combo decrease. Does it mean that I need to do 23 set of "decrease for #29, #28, #27, #26, #7"? If yes, it will be quite wide for UK6-8. I hope someone can help me. Thank you in advance.

The model looks to be a very small build, so was wondering how this could be made into an XL size or above? Thanks again for your videos!!

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад +7

      Tami Walsh hi! Thank you so much :) If you want to make it wider, you will need to work more rows. You will see we work this poncho in 3 parts. Each part is: 20 full combos of rows + 23 combos with decreases (from peg #29 to #7). We would suggest you to add more full combos. You coul for example work each part doing: 24 full combos + 23 combos with decreases from peg #29 to #7).

    To make it longer, should I increase the number of combos of knits and purls ?

      Miguel Dallas hi I have made mine bigger by using a bigger loom and I cast on 40 pegs and I did 4 sets of combo instead of 3 as I found the 3 sets just weren’t big enough to wrap around my shoulders, hope that helps

      I would love to talk to Ena Briggs about how she made the poncho longer. Where do I add the extra set of combos! After the first set of combos? I need help.

    Thank you. I worked on this but at the part where you cast off the first 12 pegs(to the right) I think I got mixed up because I had the yard coming from the left side so I just casted off those 12 pegs and went from there. I want to try it again but I am afraid it will happen again. Also when you say decrease through Peg 7 and go back what do you mean?

    For the buttons - how do you make 'slots' for the buttons to go into to 'close' the poncho?

    Love this pattern. I have made 3 so far, but was wondering if you had printed out directions/pattern so I don’t have to keep finding where I need to be in the video! Thanks!

    Oh man can't wait to try this!! When you said combos does that mean rows?

      +Victoria Foster hi! Here 1 combo means 2 rows (1 back & foreward). Hope this helps!

    Tuteate,
    I am Very excited to try this out! Thank you so much for sharing! If i were to want to make the cape a little longer going down the back... would i add on to the 20 repeats? TIA!

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад +1

      LipsForFrogs hi! Thank you :) Sorry, we cannot make it longer (we would need a loom with more pegs). If you add more repeats then you will get a wider result.

    When you finished it with the buttons did you just sew the flaps together with the buttons or did the buttons fit through the weave of the pattern?? this is my first time making anything like this and I want to make sure to finish it off properly :)

    But I have a question about the size
    How can I make one for my 3years daughter ?
    How many pegs can I use ?
    Thank you so much

    hi, I really love this poncho pattern but I am wondering if it is possible to make this longer a few more inches? I am new to looming and really wanting to make this. Do you have an idea what size this pattern would fit? Would it fit someone who is about size 18? Thanks so much in advance.

    did you do buttonholes ?

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад +1

      Irene Arabatzoglou :) thank you! No, there are no buttonholes, I sewed the buttons on one side and then I passed them through the "holes between stitches" of the other side :)

    what about using a cindwood loom---bit of a conundrum---it has more pegs, but they are slightly closer together---how will this affect things?

    Yes! I finished IT!!Love it! However, it's to big for me ;( to make it smaller...but how?

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад

      Judy Chen oh! We'd love to see your result :) (feel free to send us a picture to info@tuteate.com if you want). To make it smaller you could work less than 20 full combos at each part (for example, you could do 17 combos and then the combos with decreases)

    Hi! I love your loom project videos and was wondering if you could use a 36-peg round loom to make this.

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад

      Rhea Grove hi! Thank you :) hi! You can follow the same directions of this project on a 36 peg loom :) You will see we first cast on 29 pegs (they will be used for the body part) and then we have the rest (12 pegs) for the neck part. I would suggest you to use the same number for the body (29 pegs) and then the rest for the neck (7) :) You will get a shorter neck but you will be able to follow the same directions shown in this video.

    If I wanted to make it wider for a larger person, how would I do that? I'm just beginning and this will take me forever but it's beautiful.

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад +1

      Cheraine Agoff hi! If you want to make it wider, you will need to work more rows.

    How wonderful! Thanks so much for this video. Any suggestions as to how to size for a child (4 years old)?

    • @Tuteate
      @Tuteate  9 лет назад

      Elle2074 thank you! :) Maybe you could use a 31 peg loom and make a division after peg #23 (instead of after #29). You should also work a less number of full combos and decreases (you will see when we do that on the video), but we cannot tell you the exact number of them, sorry
