    I really like the idea of this project. I’m really hoping I can do it soon I just started to loom knit. I taught myself by watching videos. I would love if you could put basic tutorials explaining the definitions to the terminology you’re using as well as the techniques. Several of the videos I watched to teach myself were in Japanese because of this I’m not familiar with the techniques. So far i have knitted a pair of socks and two beanies. I would love to make this for the winter to match my other projects

      Veronica Oakes hello, so glad you are learning to loom knit and seeking info! Please be sure to visit my website which is chock full of loom knit information and also my main channel page. I have over 500 videos and cover basics extensively as well as have a book available. 😁 You are coming on at an exciting time because Craft Yarn Council finally came out with loom knitting standards (they help determine yarn standards for knitting & crochet. The standards finally released this year. I’ve been working with them since 2012 to get them in place. Yay! Be sure to check my video description areas for links. Thanks! And Happy Looming! -Kristen

    From shoulder down is 30 inches. How many inches from the shoulder half do I start sewing is it 5 inches. Where the black mark starts is where I want to start going to the bottom of project before I do the side seams. I hope you read this or maybe someone can answer this for me please. You mark all the inches on the outside. They are clear even the 1/2 way mark and the width of each panel. I'm making a 1x but where it starts in the back doesn't go by size. Help!!!!

    Please tell us before where we are suppose to start and stop. You show the 2panels and you say that we are suppose to start there but you start at the bottom. How many inches up do we go when we start at the bottom so we can mark it. It like sewing we pin it where we stop only we use markers. I've watched 2x and you just continue to sew together. I guess I'm confused. It's best to tell us in inches not stitches unless it was told before to mark it. Thanks I'm making for my Mom for Christmas

    Question can you use the KB 28inch knitting board, if so how

    • @GoodKnitKisses
      @GoodKnitKisses  6 лет назад +3

      You could use that loom but it is still an SG loom at 7/16". The one I used is an LG at 11/16". SO you'll need to work up a swatch in the u-wrap knit with the yarn on that loom. I'd cast on 25 stitches and knit about 4-6". Bind off. Measure your stitches across 4" (or if it's not 4" wide measure the inside 2") and then count how many stitches across you get. Use my cast on calculator to help you determine how many you'll need to cast on. You want to make a panel that is 15 inches wide. So plug in the 3 different numbers to the calculator and round up to the nearest odd number. ruclips.net/video/IBijHL6ktG4/видео.html. My guessitmation is you'll need a cast on of 61-69 stitches on that loom. Hope that helps! :-) - Kristen

    • @catherineportland503
      @catherineportland503 2 года назад

      Yeah I read that like that so I did 60 inches and and 36 rows of the border at the bottom. On mine 36 rows = 4 inches. I am making for my mom longer than hers and a 1x instead of a 4 x. I am just guessing. Understand your confusion though. I just did what I thought

When I tried to follow your steps, my end of the loom section turned out to be a lot wider than the rest of it. I don't know if that's normal or if I need to do something else. Hi Kristine, thank so much for all your patterns and tutorials. I have a question. I will be using a different loom and yarn. It seems to me , from the schematic, that one of the front panels is 27 inches long and the other front panel is 31 inches. Is that right? I’m having a hard visualizing how that would work.Thanks again,Geri

    • @GoodKnitKisses
      @GoodKnitKisses  6 лет назад

      gerilyn parker it’s because the seaming for the back isn’t at the halfway point. It forms more of a v on the upper back. So your connection wouldn’t be midway on top of your shoulders because your neck would be there. So it is down further back on the neck like where your collarbone would be if you wore it backward. Does that make sense?

    • @gerilynparker7066
      @gerilynparker7066 6 лет назад

      Thank you so much for replying ( and during the Oscars). I’m still a bit confused so I think I will just knit 3 panels to the specs in the schematic. Then I will watch and rewatch the seaming part of your cideo😀

      Sure! It’s a different weight of yarn so you’ll need to make a swatch first and measure to see how many stitches across you have in an inch. Multiply that by 15” to get your cast in number but make sure to round up to the next odd number to get the right pattern to work out.

    What is the pattern for a 3x-4x size?

    • @GoodKnitKisses
      @GoodKnitKisses  6 лет назад +3

      Great question! Actually this fit me and I'm a 3X that is 6' tall. It also fits my friend who is about a 3x almost 4X and is much shorter. However...it still fits my daughter who is a size adult medium. So it really does fit more sizes. If you want it wider to get the sleeve longer just add more knit stitches to the middle but casting on more. Just be sure to do the same for the second panel. I wish I could share the photo with you of my friend. Oh wait!! actually I think I can here. I'll have to add it to my community tab. I'll try uploading it as a post for everyone and will come back here to give you the link.
