I just recently bought a Kubota L2501 with a brush mower, rear blade and loader. I went with Kubota due to my years of experience watching contractors abuse them beyond belief and they still kept running. The extended warranty was very cheap in comparison to what it covers, I have several dealers near me and I liked the L series because it is a plain jane tractor, most everything is operated without electronics, it does not have a mid PTO so it won;t take a belly mower, but I am not a fan of belly mowers on tractors. It seems like when I need to go to the woods, the belly mower is on and I have to take it off, and when I want to mow, the belly mower is on the barn and I have to put it on. The best thing about compact John Deere tractors is the drive over mounting of the belly mower but that it is it. I agree with you that they are not interested in the compact tractor market and it shows.
On another note, I got a call from my DS dealer yesterday and my Kozy King is in and ready to be picked up, I bought this model because of your video showing its operation. I am going to be use it primarily with coal and i am wondering if you ever mastered the coal fire in yours?

Yeah I see where belly mowers will get in the way, but this tractor will primarily be used for mowing our yard. I would like to find one that is easy to take on and off. I would definitely say I haven't mastered burning coal lol but I have burned some and it did pretty good. I still have some learning to do with burning coal but I think you will really like that stove!

If your happy with your LS tractor and the dealership has looked after you and they have what you desire in another tractor . Then I would get other prices on different makes with same options and then sit down with your LS dealer and try too work things out . If there a good dealer and appreciate you coming back for another purchase the odds are you will get a fair deal . A couple thousand dollars is not a lot money when it comes too a dealer that will be there for you . They can also call there LS rep and fight for you as a return customer on price . I did this once and they dropped the price . Grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence . Be careful CJ 👍

I like many of the brands you are considering. I really liked the Massey, and there is a dealer 20 minutes from me that seems to be great. But I didn't like how they sat (it was uncomfortable to push the reverse pedal as my leg was hitting one of the levers). I ended up with a Deere 1025R that had 25 hours on it. The #1 reason I got the Deere is because they have by far the easiest mower deck to take on and off. If you will be doing loader and backhoe work with this machine, you won't want the mowing deck on there getting in your way, and therefore the ease of getting it on and off is something to take into consideration.

When I called him him he sent a flatbed truck to my place to pick up the tractor that afternoon and offered to replace it with a loaner, while it was in the shop for repairs. I declined the loaner and he took my tractor to his shop and started the repairs that day. He had to order parts and again offered a loaner, which I refused. In the process of buying a tractor as well, getting to old to be taking care of an acre all on my own. Going through the same process narrowing down top three picks, so far Kioti has topped them all with warranty, great fiancncing, and most tractor for the price. Problem with me is that closest dealership is 4hrs away, that in its self makes it eerie already, praying all goes well. Looking at the Kioti 2520, started with Hill Country Tractor in TX that turned into a cluster once they started misrepresenting/manipulating the numbers to get the most profit out us, now dealing with another dealership in Seminole TX. Hi CJ,
I like your thought process, I bought a Branson 2505h tractor with a backhoe and no mower deck at the beginning of the year.It has been good so far.
Not sure what you need to mow as opposed to brush hogging, you might want to consider a good ZTR mower with a 48 to 60" deck, it is amazing how much time you can save and you will have more than enough to buy a Backhoe for your LS. The backhoe for your LS will be bigger and stronger than what you would get on a smaller tractor.

I just watched a video of a guy who swears he didn't over work his LS backhoe and he showed pictures of the boom and it had completely collapsed. Thin metal right where it should've been thick and gussetted. It looked to be 1/8" steel. The dealer had to fix or replace it ,I don't remember. Absolute garbage especially for $ $7,000.

Well, it's possible I could be a little bias as the name of my channel suggests, but here's my $.02. I'm only posting because you said we weren't completely cutting the bottom three out. I ended up getting a 1023E, instead of a 1025R or rather a X758. I was able to buy about 6 months before the pandemic started, so it was as close to a buyer's market as it is a seller's market now. Yes as the old saying goes, "Nothing Costs Like a Deere". This is true, but I do believe they are the top of the list, along with "the Orange Guys" when it comes to features and cutting edge performance in terms of ergonomics. I've checked out the RK and TYM's as we have a dealer in town and they seemed well built but didn't have the comfort and ease of function. I think JD and Kubota have the best resales for sure, but to me that's not a factor unless you trade up on tractors all the time. But it's a factor. Now, in my opinion and I hate to say this, but the JD dealer network is very spotty. You get a lot of really good dealers that people love. And you get a fair number of dealers people can't stand. Mine is a little mixed. I'm not wild about the service dept. The sales dept is neither great or bad. As a data nerd, I don't need a salesman to tell me much about the tractor, that's what RUclips and Deere.com is for. The parts dept is great and here's another advantage. I deal with a fair number of older Lawn & Garden tractors and will also restore them here and there. And Deere will still carry many, if not a majority of parts from tractors built 50 years ago. I think that's pretty cool. Bottomline, consider the 1023E is you need a SCUT, if you need a larger tractor, you'll have to consider a 2R or 3R, as they have mid-PTO's but they can be very pricey, but are seriously nice tractors for sure.

Make a checklist of what you want and need, put it on the board/paper. Dealers that are too far away no matter how good they are would be a no go for me now having experienced this with my current tractor, so my replacement tractor dealer needs to be close. The dealer needs to actually have parts. That left me with dealers for Massey, Mahindra, LS, Deere, Kubota in play that are within a 30-45 minutes drive. Your requirements will be different than mine, but here were my requirements with this 25hp tractor to get below the emissions nonsense that is a problem long term for all of these tractors. I wanted no gadgets, gizmos, electronics. I want an old school mechanical heavy built long lasting tractor. Think of the Ford tractor you have only new, 4x4, with a loader. I would encourage you to remove price as a filter. Look for quality, local support, parts. Reliability and longevity are the key. I just went through this exercise and ended up holding my nose, paying the premium for the L2501 gear drive. It is as close to that old school Ford as I am going to find. Turns only 2000rpm for PTO speed, it is under powered, and over built. It should last for a long time if parts can be found. You can still find brand new parts being made for those old Ford's...

@@Mallard5plus1Farmhouse for the value I like the Husqvarna professional line. You get a lot of mower for your money with them. I really like Scag mowers too. Those two are my favorite. Scag has semi pro models that are affordable. Toro,Exmark and John Deere make good mowers. My daughter has a JD homeowner type ZT and it’s a pretty good mower. I’ve not used any others to make a recommendation on but I’ve heard good things about Bad Boy too.

I am on the market as well for a new tractor. Would be the first tractor ever for me. I live in the middle of nowhere so any dealer is about 2 hours away minimum. I was initially considering a Yanmar because of price and warranty, but that’s the one brand I have zero dealers close by. I am leaning toward the Branson 2515h or the 3515h, I just have not been able to find another compact tractor that comes close to their weight and lifting capacity. The price is also a bargain compared with Kubota and JD. Anyone else that went with a Branson have any regrets?

Hey Joe idk if you saw our newer videos but we have signed a deal with LS to use their tractors. They have been awesome for us. As far as Branson, I have seen that they are no longer going to make Branson tractors anymore and they will all be TYM. 👍

@@Mallard5plus1Farmhouse I looked at LS but seemed to be more expensive than the Branson or Yanmar. My budget is about $28k max. I need a front loader, must be HST and a backhoe would be nice but not sure that’s within my price range. I’ll have to look at LS I had ruled them out along with JD and Kubota because of price. Not sure I can get an LS with what I need and stick to my budget.

In 2018 I bought a J.D.3025e. I wouldn't recommend this tractor. Yes it's a decent machine with very few options. It's their affordable economy tractor with very few options. One, it doesn't have a mid PTO, two, you can't get a backhoe for the 3 E series. I'm really impressed with the RK 25. It's a rebranded TYM tractor. I think its a lot less in price and pretty reliable. You have all the options you'd ever need and save money too boot. Another tractor I really like is Bobcat 2025. Its a larger frame tractor that you could get all the options you mentioned. But, CJ I'm a tractor enthusiast, I like em all no matter the brand. The J.D. I have is what I could afford at the time and its a good machine but with very few options as to what I can do. Just saying, don't do as I did. Do you research buddy, so you won't have buyers remorse.

I have a neighbor who has two LS tractors. The last one he bought a MT7, the first time putting the fuel in the tractor the fuel cap broke; would not unlock to open. The dealer told him put it on a trailer and bring it to them, FOR A FUEL CAP. I even told the dealer what a joke that is for a simple fuel cap and can't have a mechanic come over for a few minutes and fix it. Their response was PUT IT ON A TRAILER AND BRING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SIR. After hearing that crushed any chance of me buying an LS tractor. And to make it even more ridiculous the LS dealership is only 30 minutes away from the house. Before someone says why he didn't just drive it over to the dealership is the highway to get there is dangerous for tractors to drive on and he didn't have enough fuel to make it.
