I didn't think I had to mention Simic Hybrid, but I guess I was wrong.
You know he isn't ACTUALLY part Octopus, right?
That's why he isn't a Simic Hybrid.
you can just, pretend they are metal.
Next you're gonna tell me Tony Hawk isn't an aarakocra even though he has hawk in his name 😡😡😡
(No I'm not asking for a Tony Hawk build)
@@EShiv42 what, you think we're here to PRETEND?
I 100% expected Sonic Hybrid with the climb and appendages!!
Figured they’d just get refluffed as metal add-on’s
Oof
If only Doc Oc knew calligraphy, he could write research grant proposals that would get accepted, and he wouldn't need to rob banks.
But he doesn't, and that's the one reason he turns to a life of crime.
"Who is superior to Spiderman."
*looks off into the middle distance
Okay, yeah that one was clever.
Doctor Octopus is also the title of my screenplay that is supposed to take place in the same universe as Air Bud
The prodigal son returns!
He's back baby!
Oh fuck....is he doing air bud requests now?
Ain’t no rule that says a cephalopod can’t perform surgery!
@@dumpsterfire6992 god no
“You’d make a great Spider-Man if you wanted to.”
Tulok really sees us Superior Spidey fans.
With how good this and the Green Goblin builds are, it’s a miracle Spider-Man ever survives.
He's just that good.
Doesn’t matter how powerful you are if you can’t hit your opponent. Also spider sense is broken.
Also plot armor.
@@badbear6390 the spider sense basically *is* plot armor.
i guess spider man is secretly using the level 50 pdf.
The Lizard is probably just a Lizardfolk Beast Barbarian, but I'm still reeling from the fact that Stegron's backstory was literally him looking at Curt Connors and going "you are like a little baby, watch this" and stabbing himself with dinosaur blood...like, same, but wow
Was Stegron the "I don't want to cure cancer, I want to turn people into dinosaurs"-guy? Because if I've ever seen a villain-motive I can absolutely get behind, it's that. Also, I assume that turning someone into a dinosaur would get rid of the cancer too, so win-win.
@@manticore6963 No that was Sauron. A Tolkein fan mutant were-pterodactyl (his mutant power is hypnosis, the were-pterodactyl thing is separate) scientist.
@@manticore6963 yeah the guy who replied is right I think (I'm not actually that big into Marvel tbh). But Stegron was there with him iirc.
I'd also give him alchemist artificer levels because he's a scientist, and for once the problem with multiclassing barbarian with spellcasters is actually in character, since Connors has a bad habit of going feral when in lizard form.
@@themaplesamurai Ohhh good point, I kinda like the idea of Alchemist, but other than the elixir that turns Connors into the Lizard, does it add anything that Connors does?...Well actually, the variations of the Experimental Elixir (maybe except the flying one) might be pretty in character, and probably work with Rage
This is epic. Now I want a sequel to the LVL 40 Thanos oneshot, but this time it’s an LVL 40 Spider-Man taking on the Sinister Six at LVL 20, or at least, the Frightful Four, for balance.
I want that too, but also Spider-Man is doomed. These artificer builds are amazing!
He could do a 2v6, giving Spidey a normal lvl 20 Miles or Venom depending on the 6's roster!
Green Goblin: Artificer
Doc Oct: Artificer
Vulture: Artificer
Spidey is just the dms dmpc. Thats the only way i could see him not gettimg one shot by half of the sinister six.
Good Video.
Just get them monologuing. They can't finish killing you until you understand the full scope of their genius!
No, spiderman is the BBEG, the sinister six are the party
Spidey is the antagonist, the Sinister 6 are the party
Artificers are so bonkers I love them so much, the fact that you can just use infusions to beef up your stats and use all your ASI's for feats is just beautiful
I love how Artificers are so good at just making themselves gods... until a friend of mine pointed out they get made nearly useless while a Beholder looks at them. Food for thought!
@@jcdenton2187 lol true, at least they still got extra attack sometimes
*4 arm enthusiast
"This will make a fine addition to my collection"
He's probablly more of an unarmed Stronk Barabarian
I suggest barbarian, dip into Astral self for at least 4 levels
Did you rewatch the entirety of Spider-Man 2 to make all of these in-jokes? Rosie, I love this boy.
Even better. I didn't have to rewatch it. ;)
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 The power of Raimi memes in the palm of your hand!
This might be one of the coolest builds you've made in terms of crazy abilities and flavour.
This is a super interesting take on the armourer
I mean, he *could* use one of his artificer tool profs to get calligraphy.
Oh man. I've been trying to hash together an Ock build for over a year now and nothing felt quite right. I LOVE THIS THANK YOU FOR DOING A BUILD FOR MY FAVORITE VILLAIN!!!
I hadn't noticed how cartoony Spider-Man 2 is! Still love it, but yeah, very cartoony.
Also, just noticed again, Octavious was focusing on the wrong invention, his arms were a much better idea than the sun thing.
Oh, and red-headed Kirsten Dunst? Gorgeous.
Assuming he patented the technology he'd make a lot more money than he would from robbing banks
@@christopherbacon1077 Exactly my point, thanks for stating it clearer than I did.
He was trying to provide humanity with a unlimited power source, cant blame the man right?
And yeah the arms were much more valuable than whatever he stole from the bank, but getting a bunch of people killed with the whole Sun thing probably wasnt good for business
@@ale-xsantos1078 He was also being affected by the arms' AI as the control chip had been fried. The arms don't have a sense of morals.
Assuming they were his invention and not made by some Genius Billionaire Playboy Philanthropist...
(If you don't get it, that was actually a thing in an early draft of Iron Man 1, where they were going to have Tony be the creator of his arms)
Made the Superior Spider-man Pun in the last 30 seconds.
Gets a like
He made a few of them.
Yep
something i'd like to point out is that you can also channel your inner early 2000's internet that is "DOCTOR OCTAGONAPUS BLAAAARGH" and shoop da whooping somebody with Lightning Bolt with this artificer build. so there's that.
Fun fact! This build also work for Entrapta from She-Ra
Not really, her air is nowhere near as uselfull as Doc Ock tentacles, plus she only has two and is more kind of flavor. I would just say it's Mage Hand. She also has a pet that shoots lasers, so probably artillerist artificer would be better.
@@RiptidePen I mean, Doc Ock is all about tentacles. Entrapta is not, I think a relatively standart Artillerist artificier with mage hand reflavoured to be the hair would be enough for Entrapta, personally. Other than that and a climbing speed, there isn't much for Entrapta's hair to do. She doesn't really attack with it, it's too weak for that.
@@Ditidos Doesn't she also grapple the shit out of people with her hair? She attacks with it, she just grapples the fuck outta people with it instead of damage... God I need to re-watch SheRa.
@@ethanrose9682 Not really, I mean, she does but those are mostly willing people. I don't remember her being able to grap people who were in a rush or actively hostile. That said, it has being a while since I rewatched it, that could have happened. But I only really remember her grabbing Scorpia or giving hugs with them, and those two are very good friends.
@@Ditidos I think Battle Smith would probably work better, with the Steel Defender working well for Emily
I was watching someone prepare octopus for a meal when the notification popped up
you might have some fun building characters from Log Horizon, especially the Senior members of the guild of the same name in the series. We have a half-human Enchanter as the guild leader (he's also highly proficient in cartography and calligraphy, he chose a non-class specific subclass called Scribe which is basically an entire mechanic built around writing and calligraphy), A swashbuckler cat as his primary consultant (he's also a gentleman who has taken the time to learn the art of being a Chef early on), a slightly perverted Tank character (series calls his class a Guardian, closest you'll probably get is some Paladin or Fighter subclass, I recommend Paladin because it is stated early on he has an ability that allows him to force opponents into fighting him or suffer some magical punishments), then in season 2 they pick up Cleric who decided to go with an Entainer type background (in-series she has a non-class specific subclass called Idol, which is basically a singing entertainer that also likes to put on a dance show), the junior members of the guild would probably be around level 13 or 14 in D&D (converting MMO levels to D&D levels can be tricky).
The Bot Returns Part 8: I'm running out of sequel names xD, how to play as:
Grunkle Stan (Gravity Falls)
The Undertaker (WWE)
Captain Holt (Brooklyn 99)
Lucifer Morningstar (Lucifer)
A fiend build would be terrific
Umm akschually mr RUclips man this build DOES have Calligraphy because The Right Tool for the Job let’s him have any tool he wants.
Nah, but satire aside, great video. Love the content, keep it up :3
Show is great, as always. Thanks for dealing with me and my often annoying comments and jokes. Your ability to translate a a character and their moves into DnD is astounding.
Bruh I am so stoked for this
The fact that you can also pop back up from death 8 times by ending all your infusions one by one
That's the most terrifying field manager I've ever saw, terrifying speed, inescapable and enough armor and health to maintain his composure against a giant. Thanks god the damage he deals aren't that high because this build is really bonker.
I know you don’t need requests but you should make invincible because the show is doing so well
Let's see. Speed, strength, near-invulnerability & flight; your typical 'flying brick'. First instinct says Protector Aasimar for 1 minute of flight at level 3. A Champion Fighter with the Unarmed Fighting style or a Monk would work since he mainly uses his fists to attack; more inclined to say Monk because of Unarmoured Defense/Movement. I know it burns through ki points, but 4 Elements Monk works pretty well for Mark. Pick up Fist of Unbroken Air, Fist of Four Thunders (Thunderwave), Ride the Wind (Fly) & Eternal Mountain Defense (Stoneskin) as the disciplines.
Alternatively, Thunderclap, Longstrider, Jump, Enhance Ability & Haste would be good spells to pick up through a casting class (though you do miss out on the higher-level martial abilities), as well as those listed above. My personal choice would be Clockwork Soul Sorcerer if you went this way.
@@adamlawther6356 those are all good thoughts I would go with 14 levels totem barbarian with bear totem lvl 6 and eagle totem lvl 14 and 6th level Djini warlock fir the flight speed pact of the talisman fir some more invincibility and take the martial adept feat via custom lineage
Speaking in invincible the last epiaode give a idea for my new character a Leonin Fighter Champion, guess who i based it on
@@Gabe600 that would be cool but I think a battle master with menacing attack would be cool because between the roar and that you are a super scary fighter and obviously you need intimidation proficiency
@@adamlawther6356 idk if you'd need 4 elements if you're dipping into a casting class tho, since you can just pick up those spells that way. Personally, I'd go for Open Hand since Mark hits like a truck with that Viltrumite DNA, allowing him to knock people back or on their ass using the open hand technique and possibly recover health through the tranquility ability, making him harder to put down.
I've seen dozens of these videos, yet this time I read the thumbnail as "HOW TO PLAY A DOCTOR OCTOPUS IN NEED", for some reason.
I hope you are alluding to a Superior Spiderman build lol. Superior Spiderman is my favorite iteration of Spiderman. More ruthless, organized, and even graduated college and started his own company that rivaled Stark Industries. Only took the real Peter Parker 4 issues to completely destroy everything that Otto built up while in control.
You've done a number of DCEU people, let's see J'onn J'onzz next!!!
Green Superman need new backstory and job. Did you know the whole last of his kind was desperate attempt to make him more interesting. Since he is so OP. Which actually stick unlike all the other nonsense they try before. My friend have him as street level Doctor Strange is cryptology and hollow earth, giant monsters. That are all Alien that predate humanity on earth and he keep them safe and away from outsider nonsense. He like Doctor Strange is there to dump exposition dump on heroes when they go near his territory either to warn them of X or as detective that deal with this sorta stuff and would prefer they stay out of his world and he keep his out of there. Etc
I wonder how often Calligraphy skill checks come up in Tulok's campaigns
Builds featuring scientists are always neat. There may not be a lot of popular characters to change up the build's race but that's fine.
Oc's a pretty archetypical artificer but I could also see you tossing around some warlock for more tentacles
You know who's also a scientist? Sol badguy
Edit: that superior spiderman nod was spectacular
KING SHARK IS (possibly) NEXT!? YES!
Poll winners don't come until the next month. Legolas is next
@@baronsaga9594 oh yeah, true.
Still, something to look forward too.
Welp. Now he’s done it. Now he’s gotta make the whole Sinister Six. Good job buddy ya got another group to finish.
Artificer is a broken class. I love it.
You could do Tim Drake and complete the core batfamily
I'm sure it is more than first 3 Robins. And I hate the idea DC got so bad Bruce's adopted daughter is no longer seen as part of "core" Batfamily, got sidelined so hard and Babs, her mother figure, go so mangled she is now seen as bruce's daughter more than her.
“King shark is a shark”. I have spoken.
get the feeling Custom Lineage is becoming the new "Variant Human" stand in, am i wrong?
I think he should definitely put some of his builds against each other I would love to see Doc Oct go against some of the heavy damage hitter builds he's created.
1:30 Impeccable impression. Seinfeld build when? I'm guessing full Glamour Bard (cause comedian), Larry David seems like an unseelie fey, so his directing would come off as such.
I was expecting Symic Hybrid for race. They have an option for extra arms if I remember and the Doc is Oc cause of SCIENCE!
Technically a symic hybrid extra arms are also cause SCIENCE!
He could hybridize himself!
If this is anything but Battlesmith Artificer with the tentacles as your steel defender, I am going to throw a fit!
I mean it was close, Armorer Artificer with tentacles as armor does work better, since Steel Defenders can, and frequently do, exist in a different space than their master and that just isn't very in character for Doc Ock
@@archivesEris I would argue that a key component of Dr. Octopus is reach, and Armorer's don't have exceptional reach
How about a build for the Vulture or Electro?
Hope to see Black Cat next from Spidey’s Rogues Gallery. Or Carnage.
My guess for today is Custom Lineage (since it's the new hotness), and... Artificier, probably. Since the tentacles are basically sentient armor (depending on the Spiderman lore), I guess Armorer. Maybe fighter for Action Surge, but that doesn't feel right. Algorithm, algorithm.
Edit: Woo! Got it for once! :D
A handy build
You could also pick simic hybrid for the grappling appendidges and choose the tentacle option
Dude simic hybrid would have been so good for the grappling appendages that's like the one thing that works for this
Armorer is such a versatile subclass. One of my favorites.
Artificer in general is just insanely versatile, I love it so much
This isn't a complaint but I'm genuinely surprised that tulok only used footage from sm2 and didnt use any footage from games/cartoons.
I feel as if you could done simic hybrid, and flavor it as robotic limbs that are fused to you
Very fun build! Artificers are crazy.
Honestly, I'm surprised there was no talk of Olivia Octavius from Spider-Verse. Unless you think she would need a different build? I dunno, I'm not super familiar with Spider-Man.
This build made me happy, thanks man
Man...It's really annoying that this is probably my favorite build in the two years (?) or so since I've started following.
Really great take on his abilities while using one of the best classes in the game.
To think I was thinking "Great...An Astral Monk build..." when I read the title.
Doc Oc as a father figure to Spider man actually sounds like a really cool idea. It is not the first time a villain became more of an anti-hero or full on good guy.
All of Peter's father figures die or become supervillains. ALL.
@@ActionNerdGo could still be a fun idea. Spider-son and Doctor Dad-opus
I'm down for more Redeemed hero characters in fiction, especially as mentor figures! It creates a cool dynamic I don't think gets explored enough
I was honestly expecting an Astral Self Monk for some reason.
That is basically the idea behind a character I have, a mix of GLAD0S and Doc Oc with 4 monk Astral Self, the rest in Armorer
I think variant human would have been fine for Doc.Oc, as he actually is human.
P.S. Here's an idea: mage hand and bigbie's hand, for the arms.
This is probably an unpopular opinion but I dont like the Custom Lineage option in Tasha's, even though I like mostly everything else the book has. Custom Lineage just feels like cheating.
Love the superior reference at the end
Dude.
Props for The Superior Spider-Man easter egg.
The jokes about superior Spiderman broke me
I was about to say: "Tulok didn't make a Superior joke"
than the ending of the video happened.
i'm sad i can't subscribe and like this twice, i would have, but i think i'd need more ARMS to get it done
I recall that you had trouble with General Grevious, so I was curious how you would pull this off. Kudos for succeeding with flying colors. I got a headache trying to keep up with this bonkers build.
Also, Superior Spiderman joke. ^_^
Idk what patron needs to hear this but vote king shark
Lelouch Vi Britannia build when????
That was. Amazing you really are a DnD maestro
12:35 I guess that means Otto would be a Superior Spider-Man...
This was very good!
Please do a build for M. Bison from Street Fighter.
I would love a Bison build
I have a marvel villain that’d be a challenge for you......MODOK
Now that you've completed Team RWBY, how about a build for our favourite drunk bird Qrow Branwen? I have a build myself but it uses an old UA for turning into a crow (technically a raven, but close enough); I'm curious how you'd do it.
Not sure about race, but Way of the Drunken Master for class, perhaps?
He does have proficency with Calligraphy since, well, Artificers have all tools. Calligrapher's Tools are... tools. :)
Before I watch:
He's an Artificer.
Very good, Maddie!!!
@@ajtp1349 I never watched Suite Life, and I still got that reference.
Seriously enjoyed this one. It is perfect.
I was about to guess artificer simic hybrid, until I saw the comment deconfirming it
See its stuff like this that makes me love the Artificer more and more
Btw you miscounted a slight bit but you would have 110 feet of speed and just remember you'll need to dash to get your full jumping speed because every foot of jump is 1 foot uses up by your movement which is kinda just there for fun because like you said if someone wanted they could just take the winged boots infusion for 110 feet of flying speed instead
For all the Fate fans out there, this build is also a fine way to make Fiore Forvedge Yggdmillennia and her Bronze Link Manipulators from Fate/Apocrypha
could you do inumaki toge from jujutsu kaisen?
For my doc ock inspired build, Professor Aboleth, I ended up using Artificer Battle Smith. I used the Steel Defender as a semi-autonomous backpack of tentacles that sort of does what I want it to do.
Just thought I'd share
I don’t always like Doc Ock, but this is a good build for him. Loved Spiderman 2
I wish I could give you an extra like, just for that Superior Spiderman reference.
My favorite marvel villain. I actually want to play this character, even if it's not original.
For anyone making a Tulok build at home, make sure you take the Actor feat so you can do that flawless Seinfeld impression
Guard: *looks nervously at Doc Ock*
Doc Ock: Rosie, our new friend thinks I'm going to blow up the city
That was a very impressive build. Seriously, makes me want to play him now lol
Ermahgerd I can't believe Tulok used ANOTHER custom lineage and that he didn't multiclass and something something True Strike something something algorithm!
Honestly, im playing a sniper character in a campaign who has spider climb slippers. There have been a number of situations where just permanent spider climb has been morr helpful than a limited amount of flying.
I recently did a Semic Hybrid with 1 lvl of fighter for the TWF style and the Armoer Arty the rest of the way. However, i do like the mobility and speed you created
Yo, I just made Doc Ock in heroforge, this is perfect.
I love the superior joke at the end of vid
I have a request for Hisoka Morrow from Hunter X Hunter
Could also multiclass into Path of Beast Barbarian, the tail and claws from that feel fitting (tail especially). Also can give you a climbing speed if you wanna free up some of your options from Artificer. Can't rage while in heavy armor but the tail helps with your armor class anyways if you went with a medium armor Armorer, or you can just take Battle Smith instead to have intelligence replace strength for attacks (which is needed if you don't take enough levels in Artificer to get the Belt of Hill Giant Strength) and a Steel Defender for an Octobot.
Not being able to cast while raging isn't great, but for this build you don't need a lot of spells anyways, though losing out on Thorn Whip and Haste is definitely a shame.
How to play Godzilla.
I will ask for this until I die.
True Polymorph into a Tarrasque?
Be the DM
Play as a Terrasque
Rune Knight + Lizardfolk + Draconic Bloodline + Unarmed Fighting. Big, punchy, lizard with the ability to shoot lasers (scorching ray)
Lizardfolk 18 Draconic bloodline Sorcerer 2 War magic Wizard. Brass ancestry, pick up Enlarge/Reduce, Firestorm, and Wish to cast True Polymorph into a Tarrasque and hope your DM is cool with it.
How to play Godzilla:
You true Polymorph yourself into the Tarrasque.
I just gotta point out you would be making Shocker if you stored shatter in some gauntlets and gave them to another party member. He doesn't do electric/lightning damage, as much as his name would beg to differ, he creates vibration and does shockwave/thunder damage so shock it to 'em baby.
I think Ol’ Dirty Bastard would’ve been a rules lawyer, for sure… because, ooh baby, he liked it RAW. LOL.
I was expecting simic hybrid because of the grappling appendages.
Can you please do bane!!
Great idea
Can you do Kenshiro from Hokuto no Ken ?
