How to Play Kraven the Hunter in Dungeons & Dragons (Spider-Man Villain Build for D&D 5e)

- Today we have a build for Kraven the Hunter in Dungeons & Dragons. He's one of Spider-Man's deadliest foes, so how do those abilities translate to D&D 5e? Pretty well.

Kraven, proof that to be a super villain you don't need fancy high tech armor and gadgets or magical dimention warping powers or anything of that sort. You only need dedication, drive, a knife, a bow, 6d6 sneak attack, hunter's mark, capped dex and wisdom, martial arts, movement options, a ton of expertise and proficiencies, kensei weapons, AC out the wazoo, CALLIGRAPHY, and a hot bod.

Well, one Con would be that Kraven's low Cha Save makes him pretty susceptible to spells and abilities that target that. They're not super common, but you're gonna have a hard time hunting Spider-Man if Dr. Strange tosses you in the Mirror Dimension with Plane Shift.
This also makes Calypso a real problem for you- if she’s your adversary. She’s been that as much as Kraven’s ally.
My favorite issue of What If…? Is what if Kraven had killed Spider-Man? It’s the first comic I ever bought with my own money and the extreme downer ending probably had a big influence on me. I love seeing Kraven get love on here. If I ever play a version of him in DnD, you can bet your sweet bippy I’m gonna try to convince my DM to let me have the Kra-Van to drive around in.
All these 5e builds are great. But I encourage you to look at Mutants and Masterminds if your group really wants to play in a super hero campaign, it's better equipped for that kind if game

They are all trying to hunt down an Ettercap that keeps catching criminals and doing good deeds.

@@BJGvideos Honestly I think JJJ would be a noble quest giver that gets the party together because he doesn't trust that the Ettercap (Spider-Man) is actually a hero and is working for Lolth to some sinister means.
Before watching: Either a Hunter Ranger, Scout Rogue, or a Barbarian with expertise in Survival. He's a human, so he's probably going to be Vuman, or TCL

Because the writers have been secretly making Kraven look more and more like Danny Trejo over the years so when spider-man 4 comes out there's no other choice then to cast him.
Danny Trejo was actually the inspiration for Kraven.
Ah, Sergei Nikolaevich Kravinoff, also know as that weird guy that might challenge Gaston on most antlers on his decorations, is an iconic villain not only for how unique and changing his persona is, but because he is a maniacal warrior who mixes cunning, resources and power to match the friendly neighbour, and we know how busted he can be if he tries!
Im a hunter myself, if it doesnt show! chasing every chance to request a Tangle the lemur build from Tulok needs perseverance and focus that only the masters of the small game hunters would achieve, but one can always look up for the stratagems and skills the big boys of the hunt have, and what a great reference is the man who hunts the creature a top of the food chain of this world.
One can also explain the Rogue to Monk to Ranger as: he started on the streets, but after a bad run, he was helped by a monk to learn Zen. then in a meditation, he was inspired to learn from nature to do what he did before, but better.
Playing with or against Kraven the Hunter in DnD would truly be...The Most Dangerous Game.

There should be a giant tournament of all Tulok builds to see who wins. Maybe separate them to categories, like fighters and mages?
I think that was considered or hinted at, Tulok just needed someone to help put it together, cause let's face it, a 400+ character royal rumble would make for a lot of rolling
If you want Mobility Options (tm), have you considered Jesse Faden? She has Teleportation, Levitation, Dashation. Not to mention a similarly strong mix of ranged, melee, and tanking.

This was a really good build! I confess, the monk levels were a surprise, but they make a lot of sense. Great video.

Tulok would be possible playing kraven with this others feats:
•Polearm Master(Deals more damage with the spear)
•Poisoner( Use of the poisoner kit and creating poisonus spears and powders)
•Slasher( You make paralysings cuts)
•Shadow Touch (Going invisible after stealing the amulet of the white tiger)

Monk 3 - Way of the Open Hand
Rouge 14 - Assassin
Fighter 3 - Rune Knight
I'm surprised you didn't use lack of magic damage as a weakness. But yeah, you are right. This is a wonderfully versatile build.
I'd say the REAL con of this build is losing out on some useful abilities you could get if you were more focused on your other classes, and small things that could've made you even better.
1 more level of rogue (13) would've gotten you Ambush Master, which would make you better at initiative than everyone else and let you open Spidey up for other villains to get advantage on attacks. Granted, you'd have to either give up Extra Attack or Kensei Parry to get that, but still.
Rogue 17 gives you Sudden Strike, which basically gives you a second sneak attack each round, which is just plain better than your other bonus action attack option of Kensei Shot (Technically not better than extra attack seeing how the bonuses stack there but still)
There are also other Monk subclasses you were sleeping on, like Way of Shadows to get Pass Without Trace in order to make you not just stupidly good at tracking prey down, but stupidly good at hiding from said prey all for 2 ki points. (And giving that bonus to your friends too)
Granted, the extra consistent damage from getting basically 3 attacks in a round on a rogue isn't something I'm going to ignore, but it's still worth noting.
Now I want a Most Dangerous Game style campaign with this setup as the antagonist.
This is just an amazing build. This channel inspires one to use DnD in wholly different ways ^^

Its Spiderman 2015(I believe that was the year of release) and aired on Disney XD! I highly recommend it. It has a great story and the action is awesome. It's actually where I first saw Kraven, so seeing it here is a surprise lol

Just noticed he added wrong for his Dex mod he ended at 19 instead of 20 so he starts as plus 3 and ends plus 4. I think he forgot he started at 15 base instead of 16.
He took the Athlete feat remember? He started with 15 then with custom lineage got +3 Dex making it 18 a +4 modifier

This is a good build and id twick it a bit depending on which Kraven. And this is good as trying to do a Lurtz build

Pre vid prediction: variant human, remarkable athlete feat, and... Alchemist artificer/battlemaster fighter gish? Uses the Alter Self potion to gain better unarmed combat, has specialized gear, big jumps, and tricks for fighting Spider-Man? Maybe add two levels of Ranger for favored foe and Hunters Mark?

Serious answer to why the "Only Spider-Man can kill him" thing is a curse:
Kraven's Last Hunt is one of the greatest comics ever made, in it Kraven beats Spider-Man, buries him alive, and starts wearing his costume. (this is why so many Spidey villains impersonate him now *cough*Superior*cough*) Some more stuff happens I won't spoil but in the end Kraven takes his own life, feeling that he had beaten Spider-Man in every way, so had no further heights to accomplish. It's a classic "What does the villain do after they've won?" situation, Kraven was the dog who finally caught the mail truck and didn't know what to do with it. Years later Kraven's extended family used a magic ritual to bring him back to life aaaaaand he despised them for this, as in his view this now invalidated his "victory" over Spider-Man, however he couldn't take his own life again because the family messed up the ritual (used Kaine's blood instead of Peter's) so now only "The Spider" could kill him.
TL;DR: It's a curse cuz he wants to be dead to prove a point.
Anyway Kraven is without question the greatest and most underrated Spider-Man villain and I can't wait for Insomniac's Spider-Man 2
Using Rogue as the base is proof why Reflavoring is so powerful, the Mechanics fit.
Where did that footage come from? I noticed the fox 90s cartoon. Looked like spectacular Spiderman for some of it. But one that caught my eye was what looking liked Spiderman unlimited. Or whatever the one with the anthropomorphic animal people where Spiderman was off on that other world/dimension. I don't recall Kraven being in that one because it wasn't set on Earth. Only venom and carnage symbiotes (not hosts and suits) tagged along for that ride. Anyway maybe I'll have to look it up later. Like I said. Didn't think Kraven was in that one but the costume looked like it

Since the Overwatch 2 beta just released I was wondering if you could do a Genji build. I think it would be a mix of Kensei monk, Samurai fighter, and a level or two in rogue.
Just do a Warforged Bladesinger. Custom background to give stealth and slight of hand.
For like any cyber ninja. You get invis by 3rd level and can mix it up in melee if you want, although spells will almost always be better than getting in their face.
Plus you get the most anime/ninja spell in the game by level 9, Steel Wind Strike.

I mean, this build has the standard cons of most of your martial builds: Low Cha saves so he can be easily plane shifted, limited Ki points and limited spells, and (unless I missed it) no magical damage. If you're fighting Spider-man that's fine, but if you're hunting bigger prey non-magical weapons starts to become an issue

-Has a really specific Vendetta against 1 hero
-Absurd costume design

Dude I like both. And I prefer marvel in all characters over dc but this. Deathstroke is the one dc character I like.
He is also a master to all martial arts and can use all weapons

The only reason batman is still alive is cause batman is the hero of the story.

Nah, he was cursed with a shorter lifespan due to cloning himself a bunch of times, letting one of those clones murder all the others, and then getting killed by said clone while he was dressed up as Spider-Man. Unless those potions made him dumb enough to do that.
