a lot of the early bits of this build are very similar to how I would build Link in his later levels. the master sword is sentient, even if Fi doesn't manifest outside of the sword until later levels. Yesterday I made a DnD character for Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail after I learned about this Monk Subclass way of Ascendant Dragon. I only did 10 levels but I gave him 7 levels monk with that subclass, the other three levels I did draconic ancestry sorcerer. For his 4th level I gave him Elemental Adept. And to simulate his eating fire I have him the absorb elements spell along with some other fire spells. For Race I was debating Tiefling because of his demonic origin and the fire resistance. But human works also.
I see you were using footage from the OG 80's Thundercats. Is your build centered around the 80's Thundercats series? If you used the 2011 reboot, would that be a different build? Would you get a different Lion-O?
Actually even Warcaster has its place it this build bc one really doesn't want to drop Haste in the middle of the spell AND if an enemy tries to run away, you could do an Attack of Opportunity w Booming Blade, proccing the extra dmg for moving >:)
But... what about the Gauntlet of Omens? Also known as the Claw Shield. It has a built in grappling launcher, smoke screen and can be attacked with as... well... metal claws.
I played an Eldritch Knight for a one-shot that had a strat built around Booming Blade and War Caster. One-trick pony, for sure, but was really cool when it popped off.
Oftentimes, the multiclassing doesn't synch up with the reality of the character and is just for the sake of getting the abilities we need, so it's always nice and satisfying when they wind up making perfect sense in-story. Of course he starts as a warlock, then leans into paladin - His character arc is all about gaining these powers from an external source, then discovering how to use them for good!

Tygra could go invisible, and in the original, had some illusion powers that taxed him too much to use regularly (i.e. they were a writer's plot device). Interestingly, he should dump Wisdom, as he was always the Damsel in Distress of the group, easily being brainwarped/cursed/hypnotized or just having a weak will in general. Chetrara could go Drunken Master Monk- one of the best monks for moving around and hitting lots of foes too fast for them to hit you. I'm starting to really dislike Hexblade. Not that it's bad - it's the opposite, it is SO useful for SO many Charisma multiclasses, in ways that would be much more interesting for other kinds of Warlock patrons. If I'm making a warlockadin, I NEED to take Hexblade in order for it to make pact weapon worthwhile...even when a Celestial Warlock or archfey (for Ancients paladin) would make a lot more sense and have more interesting character story possibilities.
I personally go with what makes sense over what'd be mechanically useful, tbh. I've had struggles like that before and I play with a few that do the whole "oh this is just better because it hits harder" or whatever. I mean, sure everyone plays in their own way, but I prefer to be a character from a story, not a video game.
Literally the only useful things hexblade gives to multiclassing is a variant ability that more or less copies the hex spell, the shield spell, and it lets you use CHA on attack rolls with one weapon. So really the main thing Hexblade gives is the ability to dump Str while still fighting on the frontline, but that backfires if you are grappled in combat, fail the contested athletics check, and your DM acknowledges the fact that you can't make somatic spell component gestures while grappled. Really, you don't lose much by prioritizing Str or Dex as your second most important stat for every single gish build hexblade was intended for. Celestial, Fathomless, Genie, and Fiend are all better subclasses from just looking at the whole package each one gives. I didn't add archfey to that list because the last time I tried to work archfey into a build I immediately realized you get everything archfey gives and then some with only 3 levels of Eloquence Bard.
@@CitanulsPumpkin I take your point, but...you absolutely can make somatic spell component gestures while grappled, RAW. There's nothing that prevents it.
@@Technodreamer RAW is for rules lawyering chuds. If an ogre grabs the Wizard's frail spindly arms and succeeds the checks to hold the grapple then the wizard can't cast spells that require they flail their arms around all over the place. This is why the cantrip sword burst doesn't have a somatic component and one of the reasons why subtle spell metamagic is such a useful ability.
Would have been nice to see some clips from the 2011 Thundercats as well And now a suggestion for a future video, I think Tulok might get a kick out of building Princess Cyra Good Rest (yes, that is her actual name, she is the princess from the nation of Good Rest, yes, really), the princess from Sleepy Princess in the Demon's Castle

Hex warrior should be part of pact of the blade.
Would have been nice to see some clips from the 2011 Thundercats as well
And now a suggestion for a future video, I think Tulok might get a kick out of building Princess Cyra Good Rest (yes, that is her actual name, she is the princess from the nation of Good Rest, yes, really), the princess from Sleepy Princess in the Demon's Castle
When you said to "Vote for Klaus-" at the beginning of the Video, I assumed it was the guy from Blood Blockade Battlefront and got stupid excited.😅
Regardless of DnD character builds, it's an underappreciated show that everyone should watch.
Commenting for the algorithm lmao, loved the video tho!!
Jesse Faden also has some sweet nova damage and high mobility
hey! have u ever looked at how to play Moon Knight in dnd?
Have you considered an El Santo build?
Can you please mack coyote starrk from bleach
Actually Tulok’s wit and quality of speech are kitty biscuits. So you’re wrong, you can win and always win.
My cat is also super jumpy. It's especially fun when I cough a little too hard and I haven't trimmed his claws in a little too long. I'm very quickly reminded.
As always, a very entertaining build. I don't know how you always manage to make them so consistently great, but I adore it.
“He’s He-Man for furries”
Me: How dare.
Gonna guess Hexblade Warlock Tabaxi with some Fighter levels
EDIT: this is literally the first time I've heard of a Leonin.
I enjoyed the 2011 version.
If you wield a magic sword and have a transformation you may be a paladin
