Yes! This even works in an essay or e-mail in Chinese culture. Instead of pointing out the main idea at the beginning, we tend to conclude in the end. If you are in a hurry, you can usually jump to the final paragraph, which is usually the conclusion.
2:12 This sentence is totally correct if the speaker is from Guangdong province (catonese). Because Guangdong people do eat their friends from Fujian Province! 哈哈哈哈哈
The first one I got it wrong because it confused me a little bit but the rest I had them right. You're the best chinese teacher ever, keep the good work! Definitely watching all of your videos. 第一个我想了不对以为我一点儿混淆了,其他都做得对。在世界上你是最好的汉语老师,你真棒,加油!我一定要看全你的视频 🤗
Wow! These really help me a lot when trying to understand long complicated sentences. Noted to self: Verb - The most important is at the end. Thanks for pointing it out
i tried yo yo Chinese, Chinese for us, Yabla but your material and the presentation is the best ! Pls make a series where an episode covers 10 word vocab and mini dialogues the way you act out examples about various topics: ex. car, house, going out, ordering food, etc- this way a learner gets 10 new words or so from an episode, a bit of grammar and real examples, just an idea. Thank you!
I am at the beginning of A2 and I recognised all six mistakes :D I haven't had good teachers yet though, but I read a lot of grammar, google a lot, and I have tandems (talk/learn with native speakers).
Fortunately I never made those mistakes and my teachers never taught us those sentences/phrases since my teachers are Chinese native speakers. Anyway I’ve just found you channel, subscribe and watch all of your videos. 加油!
Although I am nowhere near fluent, I am so proud of myself, because I already knew about all of these. I think I'm about intermediate level. This is a great video to reference, I wish I would've had something similar when I first began learning three years ago! 谢谢老师!
Shuoshuo老师!您的视频是我最喜欢的!关于‘喜欢的话题,有人能不能说明不同的’喜欢‘发音?Sometime I hear it pronounced like 'shee-huan' or, like in this video, more like 'see-huan', is this a regional pronunciation difference?
The grammatical lessons are helpful. But it's also useful to just hear the phrase and the English translation over and over again, with the Mandarin text displayed.
This is so similar to the Japanese, but not totally. Yes, it was completely confusing so I did not dare to write, say, message to anyone or anything. Before I have started getting confident.
I remember learning before that the only time you would want to say 你是很+adj (like 你是很漂亮) is if you’re saying “You indeed are very pretty,” with 是 kind of adding emphasis. Is this right?
Hey! 6/6 I guess I am doing better than I thought. All of the incorrect sentences immediately just sounded incorrect to me without even analyzing them.
The way the action is positioned at the end of the sentence with the additional information presented before it, is quite similar to how sentences were structured in Old English. Things somehow got flipped around in modern English though, I don't know how that happened.
Hallo Laoshi😊, can you add Indonesian subtitles in your video? Please!🙏 I'm sorry, but to be honest there are many Indonesians who want to learn Mandarin but have trouble learning it from teachers who are fluent in English.
I think you need a video on how to not be discouraged after years of learning and forgetting because it is hard to get Mandarin speakers to talk to in small towns even on the web because they are twelve to thirteen hours away. Perhaps Chinese learning English are used to tough teaching but at least some Americans need to know how to get out of the "valley of despair."
Hi, I'm new in your channel. i've watched some other videos and found this very useful; however I have a question: when it comes to say "this is my favorite...." Can I only use "最喜欢的" for the statement or using this "最爱" is also right? I'm confused because I saw "最爱" in a song and when I search for the meaning it said "favorite" so... I don´t know which of them to use.

Christopher Bridges, whoop! Indeed! 谢谢!Typo. I usually use Pinyin to write 汉字, and for that character I accidentally typed “gen” instead of “geng,” and then failed to catch that wrong character.
"the most important part of the sentence is at the end" just makes me realise why I didnt understand long complicated sentences.... thks!

@Surja Tjandra or use a "together with friends" instead.
