I just want to say that you are such a good teacher. You always explain everything so thoroughly and break everything down. I just discovered you, but have been watching your videos. The pronunciation explanation for the difficult sounds in the other videos were also explained so well. I have always felt like Taiwanese accent feels more natural to me compare to the mainland accent, but it’s been difficult to learn because there isn’t too many online resources that teaches Taiwanese mandarin. Thank you for taking the time to make all these videos to help the people that are interested in the language get a chance to learn it.

At the end where you twice showed the dialogue between you and your “clone”, I really appreciated your showing the 繁體字 version first, then the pinyin and translation. I found this particularly useful and effective. It reinforced the learning on multiple levels! 非常感謝

Loved the dialogue at the end! I know the vocabulary that was used was very simple but still I feel a little proud of myself for being able to understand everything without looking at the simplified subtitles or the translation. Because it was a little fast for me, there were a few words I didn't hear clearly or didn't immediately recognize but I was still able to understand the sentence from the general context and from the tone of the "character" speaking.

As I am learning Mandarin from Taiwan, it is very convenient for me to see sentences in Traditional characters, it's way easier for me to only switch PinYin to Zhuyin than to switch both the characters and Pinyin. Moreover, the dialogue, in the end, gave us some sense of how to use these sentences, it was very smooth

The last sentence's intonation「我的意思是說妳總是抱怨」is very interesting, the way you close the mouth which contributes to a more vibrant initials (consonants), the rise in intonation (whether it is in annoyance or excitement) and the slight rising in shoulders and neck contraction, I have also heard this same intonation and seen the same body language from maomaotv. It's super interesting, maybe you could do a video (or a series) on taiwanese intonation and accent. xD

    Hi Grace!
I started studying Mandarin Chinese last year, but not full time until recently. When I started studying, the pronunciation part was the easiest to me, but I kind of forgot to study grammar (or put it aside at the time) in the beginning and it's now one of the most difficult parts for me, so I was wondering if you have any tips on studying grammar?
Edit: I know a lot of words but sometimes I just don't know how to use them and whenever I fail to make a sentence I just think that I'm really bad.
