Always look forward to The Scene Vault podcasts. This particular one was one of the best. John Dodson has a great ability to tell a riveting story. Keep them coming!
All of your interviews are good. But, let me say, this series with John Dodson has been spectacular! Please talk with him more. Thanks for your hard work.
Barry Dodson's kids? I first heard about that in NASCAR Ride of Their Lives in the bonus material. It had to be rough. It's tough losing a parent or both parents, but losing kids is a lot worse because it changes the order of life. At least Barry reunited with them in heaven.
This whole interview was great, albeit difficult in places obviously. Loved Mr. Dodson's story telling. I do hope as he suggested that you do an interview with Doug Yates at some point. The Yates team was my favorite as a young fan and I still have a great love for that bunch and the memories of rooting them on, so I'd love to hear his stories but also hear about Roush-Yates engines as well.
And they seen that day the awfulest fight that they have ever seen in their lives. Probably one of the biggest throw downs in the sport. Rusty Wallace and Darrell Waltrip racing for $200,000, they touch, Darrell spins, Rusty wins, and an all out brawl between the Tide team and the Kodiak team. Rusty loses all his fans, has a security guard watching him by that night. Darrell finally gained a bunch of fans. Rusty wouldn't get his fans back until 1993.
Yeah that might be what race teams want but that's not what the fans want and that's killing nascar they want that 1989 pit crew on Rusty Wallace car and I have to say so do I.
What an absolutely eye-opening interview so fantastic so glad you do this. It’s a pleasure to watch and learn even more history.
Could listen to John for weeks. Good fella
Never be envious. Appreciate what you have …… ❤

John is a good story teller. He needs to be on allot more.
Was'nt expecting John to mention Trey and Tia. I went to High School with them. Very sad time.

Possibly let John know that Joe Jackson, at Classic Pontiac Rescue, has found & purchased the Whitney chassis. He plans on restoring her
Finally, the Barry Dodson payoff quote for the ages at 7:20
Those were the days & John remembers them all. This series went by too fast, I could have listened for hours.
Still get wet eyes for Barry's kids I'm glad he's with them today helping Adam and have a good time with TIM
