Holy shit! That wasn't a song. That was an epic adventure of battle axes and bloodshed to honour the Gods of Metal! Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr was my first introduction to Trivium and they have been burned into me ever since. Yes, there's been ups and downs, but MAN...I was not expecting this! AND THE DRUMMING! I was starting to think they couldn't keep up to him...and then the 3:00 mark hits! Great job guys. I'm sold! Now pardon me while I turn the song on again loud, rip my refrigerator door off and start slaying orcs with it!

I love every trivium album but this is the best song I've heard them record in a while definitely as good and probably better than shattering the skies above love that blast beats have returned along with the screaming and all of the parts especially that black metal like ending where so good!!!! Super stoked for the album to follow!!!

When you see the video, it's almost like they ripped off Versailles now that you mention and now I can't unsee it. I love Trivium, but when you hear or see interviews when Matt says he was influenced by something, it's like more of a poor man's copy than influence. SITS was alright, but I felt like he was trying to copy Dio more than be "influenced" and not doing a very good job vocally. Seeing them live a year ago his vocals on the new tracks weren't very good.
Yea, I wasn't a big fan of SITS either, it just seemed out of placed for them with all that was going on but now this looks extremely promising so I have high hopes for them now, especially with Alex haha.
themanwithamission - In terms of that SITS sound, I like that this isn't trying to be too much like it. These vocals actually sound like a range Matt can sing. Some SITS songs were so high and sounded way too perfect on record, I knew there was no way he could hit those notes and seeing only a couple SITS songs live, he really can't. But this song has an interesting direction. I would have preferred if the whole song was like the last minute, but we'll see how the rest of the record plays out.

This is one of my favorite Trivium songs lyrically and instrumentally. I wish Corys lines weren’t so “muted” on the master recording though. The song played live has a different effect on me mainly because Cory is putting it all in.

It's not even your opinion, it's just a fact that Alex Bent is possibly their most capable drummer ever. The guy used to play with Battlecross, did some live work with Decrepit Birth, and did the drums on the latest Brain Drill album. Trivium could not have found a better drummer.

Trivium hace rato que toca y si no tuvieron más "popularidad" antes menos la van a tener ahora, es una lástima pero es que los tiempos cambian. KHfan4ever23 yeah and Matt said the exact same thing about the last 3 drummers. He literally said Paul was what they all have been missing. It's kinda hard to take anything Matt says seriously at this point, but I suppose we don't know the full story behind any of their drummers leaving, but it makes Trivium look bad.

I've seen Trivium 4 times and he's always screamed. In the last year or 2 he was re-learning to scream after he destroyed his vocal chords and do it the correct way. Corey filled in most of his screaming parts live until he got back to normal.

I love Jay but not every replacement could copy the original. The same goes for Trivium, the songs from the Alex Bent era will never be played the same live once Alex gets fired.
I think the only way that Alex would depart from the band is if he quits or he dies, I don’t think trivium will fire him ever, he’s so good and fits perfectly in the band.
