Without a doubt, this song should go down in history as one of the best metal songs ever written. The drumming is insane and the song tells a story and takes you on a journey. Simply genius!!
In terms of drumming Alex’s betrayer is mental. He is a weapon on the kit and makes it look so effortless and easy it’s scary. He is a legend in his league of the style that he plays.
Trivium’s been on fire lately. They released an album just last year (and a really good one at that!), yet they’re still writing great tracks like this that are of similar quality. Hats off to you guys. Much respect
Yep. It was a demo for Shogun they cut from the final album. They were gonna use it on The Silence in the Snow and didn't. Glad to see it dusted off and finished. It is glorious to have the Shogun sound again.

The genre is called progressive metal. Check out Dream Theater, they are Gods in their craft. Been listening to them since the 90s. Awesome band and these guys remind me so much of them
I went on strike after silence. I’ve seen them 18 times and it was about 3-4 years between time 17 and 18. I thought they were done being metal gods on silence. Everything after in waves was a let down in comparison to the previous album and in waves was a let down in comparison to shogun. But it did have caustic. Heard about another god damn new drummer, saw the sin and the sentence video and became excited for trivium again. They are god like again and god damn I can’t wait until next Friday.
Silence in the snow angered me almost as much as vengeance falls. It sounded like it was going to be great and then it was nothing but cleans. Nothing against Matt’s cleans, but I love how he’s able to go back and forth between screams and cleans so smoothly. It really flows with the melody.

@@LiMiiTzOSRS Shogun is way overrated. Some of the songs are great, like Down from the sky, or the 1st track(I don't remember the name because that album insisted on having almost all of the song's names be longass & strange titles, as well as most of the songs being too long), but also most of the songs on Shogun hopped around too much with seemingly little to no real structure of the song, like Oh this riff sounds cool, so let's add that but only for like 20 seconds tops and then throw it back in randomly, 7 & ½ minutes into the song! 😂 They just didn't sound as epic, structured, memorable or straightforward as they did on Ascendancy, which IMO is their best album! Ascendancy also had better melody. And it had big hits like Dying in Your Arms, Ascendancy, Washing Away Me In The Tides, Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr (a bit long of a title, but rhymes & is interesting & fairly easy to remember), Like Light To Flies, oh and an amazing cover of Metallica's Master of Puppets! 👍 (on the Delux edition) maybe give that album another go. It's much easier & more fun to get through the whole thing than Shogun IMO.

Yet another masterpiece from one of the greatest metal bands ever. I have been a fan since around 2005 and I'm always super excited for each new album, but since the release of Shogun the excitement has faded slightly, until now... This album seems to be the most 'complete' album they've released to date, incorporating everything from the previous albums into this perfect combination. They are getting better and better with each new album release, even when it seems like they can't get any better they release a new song/album that proves they can improve on perfection. I can't wait to see what these guys do next. Whatever they plan to do, I know one thing... We will all still be supporting this incredible band for years to come! @@northtimo666 most bands on the career path do start by 15 or 16
Literally one of the best metal songs I’ve ever listened to. It’s got everything. Epic
Imagine being such a dope band that Bethesda said, "yeah please use our content to use in your official video"
Between ITCOTD and Feast of Fire, I had to pick ITCOTD. But this one really smashed both singles and don't get me wrong, those singles are absolutely very awesome and I love them. The Phalanx? I really really love it.
The same for me. The first two was very very good, but this one is just absolutely epic
@@dineyantunes4630 exactly. It's very well done
one masterpiece after another. This album is gonna be gold
What a great masterpiece. In The Court Of The Dragon has everything to be a major highlight in this year's releases just like What the Dead Man Say had last year.
Greetings from Portugal!!!!!!
primo estes gajos são geniais! a parte final desta música tá qualquer coisa
@@goncalosilva8069 Exatamente. Eu fiquei fã dos Trivium devido a técnica imprimida nos riffs e na bateria e o vocal do Matt é sensacional. Já ouvi todos os discos da banda e são brutais, principalmente o Ascendancy de 2005.
in my life, i have never felt a voice like that...Thank you...
Why aren't Trivium headlining metal festivals in the UK ...ive been saying this for years....they don't write mediocre music...every song is a banger
@Dr Perun learn to speak English
@Dr Perun eehh wtf? since when is Matt greedy? gtfo.
@Dr Perun Can you elaborate? I'm struggling to understand this
@Dr Perun Matt Heafy is like the least greedy person in the whole metal scene. The only one who is kind of a knob is Corey Beaulieu but they're all pretty chill dudes. And Corey Taylor from Slipknot ain't really greedy either, he just has a personality that makes him seem like that. Watch any interview with him and you'll see what I'm saying.
I completely agree. I'm surprised Trivium aren't as popular here as they used to be. People say the only decent albums they released were the first 2. They just follow the trend of what everybody else thinks and in my opinion, every album is different and that's the reason why I love this fucking band!
Love to see the collaboration between video games and music. Been a Trivium fan since 06 and a gamer for longer. The two were meant to go together. Can't wait to see everyone in Glasgow!
It's about time trivium went up in the world. Shame its taken them 15 years to reach this! Finally boys, won't be long before you are headlining festival's.
Dood… 22 years
Tf you dumb? They’ve been headlining for years
@@TeamVajify hahahaha right
@@TeamVajify I dunno if they are headlining festivals man. Headlining tours in clubs and small to mid sized venues, sure, but festivals??
I hate comments like this lmao, you're about 10 years late on that Clay
Badass! Another conment mentioned how this song is a journey, and it really is. A lot of Trivium songs are like that, and it's one of the things I love most about them. Every song is a rollercoaster of an experience.
Matt. Corey. Paolo. Alex... Fuckin phenomenal, guys.
Loved the closing minutes (reminded me of a banger from Crusade... (and sadness will sear)
This entire song was practically straight out of the Shogun era since it quite literally was and just tucked away for later use from what I understand, but I can definitely hear a bit of And Sadness Will Sear and just The Crusade in general within the song too.
i kinda get that to be honest, defo got some crusade vibes at the end
2 best albums from them in my opinion. this one is promising
matt and trivium in general are very hard working artists, i think they deserve all the recognition
I seriously never go into new releases of bands I love expecting anything in particular. Because fans who do that set themselves up for disappointment and usually don’t enjoy growing with the band members themselves. But especially these last three albums from Trivium, I’ve been blown away.
And again, thanks for the 3 7+ minute songs.
I can’t wait to hear the other two
this song has been stuck in my head for a damn week now. it is SO freaking good.
There are no words to describe how good this song is. Its in my top 10 for sure.
