My favorite part is when death kneels at the end of the little girl. Even death is humbled by the passing of a child....but at least she gets to be reunited with her dog. This is truly a beautiful video.
And what i personally love in this is that even though they show supernatural being (death) they don't portray that their souls go to heaven or similar but rather simply they portray them becoming pure energy again and giving it back to nature where it was borrowed all the time.
I haven't listened to them in YEARS! My 13 yr old was like "mom check out this new band" CHILD THIS IS NOT A NEW BAND! They've been around longer than you! So we've been binging all of their albums. Honestly the music is great, but damn this video is amazing. I love the way Death is portrayed here, as more of a friend and not something we really need to fear. Giving back to what we have been ruining. Love it.
Dude it's a follow up to wishing wells. This is Winston accepting the death of his dad. It's in direct contrast to wanting to wishing wells where he curses God and loses his faith. It literally makes the song 10 better knowing that.
What loosing faith? It's clear it was never there! It's all embarrassing and pathetic. You got so many things to sing about, and this is what you choose?
When you look at what Parkway Drive has been through in the last 7 years, the death of Architects guitarist Tom Searle to cancer who they were touring with, soon after the band lost a very close friend to cancer, and around that time Winston lost his dog Monty to cancer. They've been hit in the face with death, the pandemic, internal issues and family issues. These guys are a power house, they channel that anger, pain, hate, frustration, anguish and dread in a way that most can't. I think this new album will be a darker and deeper continuation of Reverence. With Glitch and now The Greatest Fear, I can already tell there's a definite deep heavy story about to be told.
One last comment their singer has the cleanest screams I ever heard. You can understand every word. The passion in his voice, is uncanning, and unmatched. Well done guys!!!
That makes sense because Winston was inspired to sing by Jamey Jasta from Hatebreed, and Jasta is famous for having deep screams that you can understand.
I honestly hope kids of this generation realise what an absolute masterpiece this band is, i got hooked on Romance is dead and here i am, 33 years old still bangin my head to your new stuff. Thank you so much guys, Montreal was epic this year 🤘🏼

This band is sooo good. Truly one of the GREATS ever. People wanna label these guys as "metalcore" or whatever. But to me, they're just metal. & GREAT metal at that
after sitting with Glitch for about a month it’s grown on me & it’s become a song i actually listen to pretty heavily & now we’re back with another good track. i really love the more cinematic approach they’ve taken too. keen for the new album!
This band has stood the test of time from battling thru emo to metal core to being whatever our music industry is today. This band is one of the best to ever do it and deserve more credit from the mainstream industry. This band has done everything from get me thru depression to hype me up to battle in a foreign land. Thank you parkway drive for being who you are
Parkway Drive is like fine wine. Yea you can get drunk off it when you're younger, but when you get older and slow down, you really learn to appreciate what it actually is you're taking in.
I know how serious this song is, and its deeper meaning that has really broken me at times. BUT I cant help to chuckle at the ant going for one hell of a bop at 4:55
This one is absolutely epic. Am I the only one who thought of "The Raven" poem when Winston McCall sang the verse ...king of nevermore ??? ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC !
Never gonna get the heavyness felt on horizons, deep blue, killing with a smile, but still great music. Love the band and everything theyve ever done. always going to support them and their growth!

"He's the shadow on the wall" ..a few years ago, I was casually walking through my apartment and noticed a particularly fiery sunset light appear on a wall like i've never seen before with my shadow - a shadow - standing in the midst. I immediately froze because I sensed the shadow staring back at me and reading my thoughts in the bright red and orange canvas. I stayed there until the bright sunset light and shadow faded and I sensed everything return to normal. Sometimes, I really do wonder if there wasn't something "beyond" happening in that moment. I actually made a painting of that moment and will never forget it.
Parkway are about the only band I've followed since their first album and their change in style hasn't bothered me at all. They haven't sold out, they haven't lost their touch they're growing and adapting. They still play their old stuff live and I welcome everything new they have to offer
I’m glad to see there are other people who feel the way I do. I feel like too many people bash these guys nowadays and don’t appreciate how much more refined they are now.
Im too old to give a damn about the whole "true hardcore" scene anymore. All I know is that this is a beautiful song with a perhaps even more beautiful video. I love it!
The love I have for this band is unmeasurable. Did not expect something like this, old parkway, new parkway. They are just as good as they have ever been 👏

First album is heavy AF how dare you
I love EVERYTHING about this. The aesthetics, the musicality, Winno in a robe singing about the harbinger of dark matters. Yeah. It's fucking sick.
Great band, great song, great music!
This band is sooo good. Truly one of the GREATS ever. People wanna label these guys as "metalcore" or whatever. But to me, they're just metal. & GREAT metal at that
Real talent..I love this band. Kids now a days have no idea what good music is.
That's what the last generation said about the generation after them, and then this generation will say about the next one. Pick a side already
Beautiful scenery... dark figures.. portal 'doors' to whats beyond.. and going back to source.
Very melodic..
Nice Guys
GOOD Luck

after sitting with Glitch for about a month it’s grown on me & it’s become a song i actually listen to pretty heavily & now we’re back with another good track. i really love the more cinematic approach they’ve taken too. keen for the new album!
The best in heavy metal. Love their music
This band has stood the test of time from battling thru emo to metal core to being whatever our music industry is today. This band is one of the best to ever do it and deserve more credit from the mainstream industry. This band has done everything from get me thru depression to hype me up to battle in a foreign land. Thank you parkway drive for being who you are
I just love how parkway have their own distinctive sound where as other bands can be hard to tell apart... AUSSIE METAL SLAYING 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
The vibe from this is insane - can't wait to hear this live!
zajebisty utwór tak to mozna ująć
Parkway Drive is like fine wine.
Yea you can get drunk off it when you're younger, but when you get older and slow down, you really learn to appreciate what it actually is you're taking in.
Amen, brother!
Well said
Holy shit, this is so accurate! Well said my friend!
And then also get drunk off it.
Very well said.. I’m enjoying the beginning stages of the latter. 🍷
I know how serious this song is, and its deeper meaning that has really broken me at times. BUT I cant help to chuckle at the ant going for one hell of a bop at 4:55
This album is so fucming great! Definitely one of my top 5 of the year!
You can not imagine what this song means to me... I am just grateful that someone created a song with such emotion and power. God bless Parkway Drive!
Really cool songwriting. Lyrics have a nice mystical vibe to them
Mystical yes 😊
This one is absolutely epic. Am I the only one who thought of "The Raven" poem when Winston McCall sang the verse ...king of nevermore ??? ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC !
4:42 the hits on that notes, i love to see that...
damn... this band is just so perfect!
It's really beautiful with headphones makes the difference
I don’t care who you are, but nothing can beat that guitar slap at 3:15 in the middle of a desert. You’d feel like a god.
Parkway Drive representa! Fico feliz que uma banda da época dos meus 20 e poucos anos ainda permaneça na ativa! Vida longa ao Parkway
Esperando a 3° visita desses caras no Brasil !! PWD é foda
@@fabianolima5520 hello Brazil!!! 🖐️
Foda demais mano! Nesses 20 anos vi muita banda nascer e morrer e PWD cada vez mais firme!
Essa nova fase deles tá muito foda mano
Insano 👏
I freaking love this video I would totally wear with the singer is wearing
Never gonna get the heavyness felt on horizons, deep blue, killing with a smile, but still great music. Love the band and everything theyve ever done. always going to support them and their growth!
Tune it a step down and it'd feel better haha great music regardless ay
It’s gross euro metal

Master of the darkness, siren of the storm
Whisper in the silence, the king of nevermore
Keeper of the secrets, reaper in the fall
Reigning here eternal, the king of nevermore
The bells will ring, virtue extolled
Behold, destiny, thy guidance
Master of dominion, he's the shadow on the wall
His arms are always open
He's the name we leave unspoken, he's the king of nevermore
The harbinger of all dark matters
Dark matters, oh
Oh, breaker of the cycle, seeker of the soul
Shepherd in the ether through the gates of nevermore
Look just beyond the pale, the truth is there to see for one and all
The answers that you seek lie just beyond his open door
The bells will ring, virtue extolled
Behold, destiny, thy guidance
Master of dominion, he's the shadow on the wall
His arms are always open
He's the name we leave unspoken, he's the king of nevermore
The harbinger of all dark matters
In death
In death
In death, we all sing the hymns of nevermore
In death, we all sing the hymns of nevermore
In death, we all sing the hymns of nevermore
Nevermore
Nevermore
The promise, the constant
The requiem for every soul
Polaris inside us
We sing the hymns of nevermore, oh
Nevermore
The harbinger of all dark matters
Dark matters

I lost a friend last year. I have listened to this song a million times and i cry at this part all the time
The quiet lead guitar when the girl's reunited with her dog.. Chills. What a beautiful song.

Beautiful Lyrics, simple but they get the point across.
Songs like this is the reason why this band will always be in my heart touching my soul making me feel hope for this world!!! Keep it real!!!
Where is Prager Edu located?
Bloody awesome song guys can't wait ti hear this one live
Parkway are about the only band I've followed since their first album and their change in style hasn't bothered me at all. They haven't sold out, they haven't lost their touch they're growing and adapting. They still play their old stuff live and I welcome everything new they have to offer
Well said I so agree love all there styles while some how still being them
I’m glad to see there are other people who feel the way I do. I feel like too many people bash these guys nowadays and don’t appreciate how much more refined they are now.
@Cody Parkway have the most insane live shows, and an adaptive music in studio and I live for it
Was für ein Brett 🥰🔥 alter Schwede.. Das geht runter wie feinstes Öl 🤟🔥❤️
wooww....amazing music like guitar intro . roocckkkk
Im too old to give a damn about the whole "true hardcore" scene anymore. All I know is that this is a beautiful song with a perhaps even more beautiful video.
I love it!
The only song and music/video that has made me start so sobbing uncontrollably. Im absolutely blown away
The love I have for this band is unmeasurable. Did not expect something like this, old parkway, new parkway. They are just as good as they have ever been 👏
So true
I'm here as old as 2005 and it's been amazing to see their progression
I couldn't agree with you more. I'm always excited to see what they have up their sleeve.
@@kalmah24 always makes me happy to see people who listened from so early and still enjoy their new stuff instead of hating on it!! Props to you man, love to love it alongside you
No
This song really hits me. Then the video made me cry. What a great band. Such a great song.
On vous aime en France 🇫🇷
This song and video is the definition of masterpiece. Beautiful , powerful, just wow.
I love how the chorus reminds me of the song “another brick in the wall”. Can’t wait for the new album!!!!
i thought the same thing
exactly man!
Didn't until I read this, now I can't unhear it.
I thought the same thing. I was gonna comment and ask if anyone else thought that. Nice catch
Parkway Floyd!!!
This song and video perfectly explains spirituality.
Den Nagel auf den Punkt gebracht. Besser gehts nicht. Danke
hit the nail on the head. the best video ever
КАК ЖЕ Я ВЛЮБИЛСЯ В ЭТУ ПЕСНЮ!!!! БОЖЕ, ХРАНИ PARKWAY DRIVE!!!
What an intro and the whole atmosphere of the song . 'Carrion' composing Parkway Drive 🔥
Parkway Drive is the only proof in my knowings that you can be one of the world greatest metal bands without having a single member with long hair.
Pie had kinda long hair tho
What about Rammstein?
And they all have at least some hair, unlike a lot of other metal(core) bands.
@@Rebel_71123 I'm hiring for my Blackened Deathcore metal band, BEYOND OUTER DARKNESS, again. I was just criminally betrayed by one of my closest friends. I've known him for over twenty years. What he did to me is so severe, that he is no longer a consideration to be a part of my band, much less a part of my life. Thank you, Parkway Drive, for being there in my deepest, darkest hell.
Oh, my hair is still cut Black Ops military style.
I watched dead dreams on a cold day in hell. Five months later on dark days i saw writings on the wall. Die Leere is my greatest fear.
Thank you, Parkway Drive for all of your hope and goodness.
This song is amazing I love Parkway Drive their the best metal band ever.
I'm an oldschool fan of PWD and not a fan of the new stuff. But I do respect them and am glad they're still rocking after all these years. Just hope they don't forget about their U.S. fans when touring. We've been waiting. Love you guys!
PARKWAY DRIVE los mejores del metal, que inscribible el sonido de las guitarras y brutal gutural como siempre, saludos desde GUATEMALA
So goooooood!!!
I went to a system of a down concert, while I was waiting for the band and they arranged everything for them to play, this beautiful band was playing in the background, I didn't know how to know their name so I used Shazam app, since that day I fell in love with PWD, from Argentina to the world 🖤
Loved it Fellas! Jeff the lead sections are beautiful man. It's not over done either, just making the guitar sing for us! Yew
how can leads be "over done"? there's never enough shred
This is currently my favorite song. And as someone beginning photography and videography, I just can’t help but appreciate the different locations these scenes were taken in and the editing. I love everything about this song 🙌🏼
Holy hell. I've seen this 1000times. Read ur comment bout location n editing....wow. ur so right. 🤘🤘✌️🖤
