Looked to me like it was telling you what's outside the door. Specially considering when this was released an the whole planet fell under obvious mind control. An i got in my car an took off. An it felt nothing short of this that year cept they weren't looking like cool demons. They ere wearing human outfits
15 years ago my life took an unexpected change that for the last 5 years I have fought to rise up beyond. While I was in the grips of abuse and hopelessness, I found Lamb of God. To say that their music saved my life is an understatement. I went through Hell wearing gasoline boots and their music ushered me into a place where nothing and no one can ever touch me again. I owe these guys a debt too heavy to pay, so instead I blast their music and sing along no matter how much it scares other drivers.
Amen, metal is therapy that somehow keeps us sane and in the game. And I jam too in the car which probably alarms other drivers. I'm 60 and disabled 😂 I give zero shits what they think. 🤘
It was a similar case to me in late 2022, I was in a very dark place of abuse and self destruction and tracks like this and the Faded Line along with others helped me pull myself out of hole of wanting to end it all and get the strength to push forward and get to a place that is the opposite, I now don't go a day without listening to something by Lamb Of God. This and The Faded Line really resonated with me.
@@JoeWhite3572 Guess you missed the part were he uses the exact lyrics and changes only one word. Not to mention the vocal melody is exactly the same just slowed down. Titles are completely different. Listen to the song.

This band is absolutely f-n phenomenal, extremely talented musicians, some of the best metal i have heard in my life! I have been a metal junkie for 35 years now and I got clean and sober 5 years ago and I can truly say that my metal is what gives me my strength to push forward through the agony of life! Keep the metal forward L.O.G!!!
I got sober on 11/13/2015. I thought I'd never be able to listen to music again. I thought it was over. Well, I've had the privilege of relistening to pretty much everything over again for the first time. I relate to your statement 100%. Metal keeps me going. 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Thank you to Lamb Of God for reigniting my passion for life. With songs that once helped me overcome laziness, insecurity, and the urge to give up while finishing my thesis, I finally earned my bachelor's degree. I'm also extremely happy to have had the opportunity to see Lamb Of God perform at Hammersonic 2024, even before I received my degree. Thank you Lamb Of God and thank you Randy for your addictive voice and lyrics that reignited my fighting spirit to rise up and achieve success. I love you Lamb Of God!

@@ub3rn00bster the only good country song is slipknot physchosocial banjo remix. "an no one else will seeeee, the farmer in me *heavy carrot breakdown*"
When I first heard this song, I thought it was about something evil. Like a reminder perhaps that I will one day die. How ignorant I was. This song has changed its meaning to “remember you will die, so live right now. Make it worth it. Do good.” In the song’s way, death is the catalyst for life, the very essence of it. Wake up y’all, if you were looking for a sign to take a leap of faith, this is it.
That is, if you think death is the end. Deep down in their inner consciousness, everyone knows that's not true. I had a knowing deep inside myself when I was an athiest, even though I wouldn't admit it because I was too proud. John 11:25:27 Jesus said to her, “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (trusts in, relies on) Me [as Savior] will live even if he dies; and everyone who lives and believes in Me [as Savior] will never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord; I have believed and continue to believe that You are the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), the Son of God, He who was [destined and promised] to come into the world [and it is for You that the world has waited].” Yes, Christians like metal too lol.
@@danadkins5374 ahahaah so true. I am spiritual myself, at that time was lost. However, it still holds true that one should make life worth it, through the highs and the lows, we truly experience what it is like to live, so we can be proud after we die.
@@anonye8996 Have you been born again? Just to clarify in case you aren't familiar, that's not just some term to describe a Christian. It's an actual event that happens to someone who comes to Christ fully and gives Him their life, all of it. The crucifixion was a trade, the perfect God comes down in flesh, 100% human, 100% God, lives a perfect life in our place without sin, hence the virgin birth. We inherit our sin nature from Adam, the Male line, not the Female line. He undergoes every temptation we experience yet doesn't sin. The penalty for ANY sin is death (separation from God, the source of life yet still eternally conscious) because God can't let sin into paradise, we would just corrupt that like we corrupted Earth. But being innocent AND infinite, dies in the place of anyone that would come to Him for forgiveness and then immediately gives them the Holy Spirit who revives their spirit that was dead because of Sin and God through the Holy Spirit LITERALLY makes your body His home and NEVER leaves you and gives you NOT ONLY the ABILITY to keep God's laws, but an unnending LOVE for them and an absolute HATRED for the sinful things you once loved, HE DOES ALL THE WORK. None of our works can get us to Heaven and rationally that makes the most sense because once something becomes imperfect, how can that thing then because perfect again? It's impossible. Like an old used up wine skin, the wineskin can't remove it's flaws, or the consequences of them, only the maker of the wineskin could repair it. And logically it had to be God to die in our place because anything that He created would be finite and therefore even if perfect, could only take the place of one other finite being. God on the other hand, being infinite, could take the punishment of EVERYONE that would choose HIS WAY over the enemy's way, because technically, if we are rejecting the TRUE God to go our own way, we are following in the footsteps of the original rebel and this deserve the same punishment, humanity in it's fallen state is proud though, I was, and unwilling to admit that I was wrong and deserved to be punished if God is TRULY JUST. I don't know why I just said all that lol. I'll leave you with 2 Scriptures about what being born again is. One is from the old testament, 400 years before Christ where God is telling the people what will be possible for mankind after Christ comes and the New Covenant that mankind will have access to after Christ does what He does. And the Other is from Jesus Himself ❤️👍🙂. And this is EXACTLY what happens to a person who comes to Christ with their WHOLE HEART and makes that exchange,Your flaws and Sins and screwups for HIS forgiveness, exceptance and changed heart, it's incredible. All that works based man-made religion can do is make you feel like you can never measure up nomatter what you do, the truth is so much easier. Ezekiel 36:25-37 "Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your uncleanness and from all your idols. 26 Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My ordinances and do them. " John 3:1-17 The New Birth "Now there was a certain man among the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler (member of the Sanhedrin) among the Jews, who came to Jesus at night and said to Him, “Rabbi (Teacher), we know [without any doubt] that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs [these wonders, these attesting miracles] that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered him, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again [reborn from above-spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified], he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?” Jesus answered, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh [the physical is merely physical], and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be surprised that I have told you, ‘You must be born again [reborn from above-spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified].’ The wind blows where it wishes and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can these things be possible?” Jesus replied, “You are the [great and well-known] teacher of Israel, and yet you do not know nor understand these things [from Scripture]? I assure you and most solemnly say to you, we speak only of what we [absolutely] know and testify about what we have [actually] seen [as eyewitnesses]; and [still] you [reject our evidence and] do not accept our testimony. If I told you earthly things [that is, things that happen right here on earth] and you do not believe, how will you believe and trust Me if I tell you heavenly things? No one has gone up into heaven, but there is One who came down from heaven, the Son of Man [Himself-whose home is in heaven]. Just as Moses lifted up the [bronze] serpent in the desert [on a pole], so must the Son of Man be lifted up [on the cross], so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life [after physical death, and will actually live forever]. “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him." John 14:1-6 "Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and I will take you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. And [to the place] where I am going, you know the way.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going; so how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

Let's not ignore the symbolism in this song. The "demons surrounding cars," the blind acceptance of doing a menial job, the realization that you may not be seeing reality for what it is, these are things that make LoG more than great.
I like your symbolism - I took the demons surrounding the car to be more of how we lock ourselves in our little metal boxes - everyone outside of that metal box becomes the enemy - every other driver is an idiot or someone to fear - never realizing our inner demon is behind the wheel. We separate ourselves from the natural to overcome our design - we were not designed to travel at speeds reached in our metal box and we open ourselves to pain and suffering if our box ever fails to protect us from our surroundings.
Never heard of these guys until I saw Megadeth in concert last night. This was their opening song as a warm up band. These guys are next level live. Unreal

This song saved my 50 yr old life. Recently too.. it was getting dark fast. You will never know my gratitude for every word and note and how hard it is to fight back tears upon the first note. My mother died almost 6 yrs ago and 2.5 yrs ago I was in a wreck that should have sent me through the glass into the truck I rear ended. Went from 75 to stationary in 40 some odd ft of skid mark. I felt her energy/intensity between me and an untimely end and while unconscious for a moment I heard her.. Wake up son, wake up. You have a situation to handle.. WAKE UP! And I did. My reporting of the accident (while bleeding quite a bit from top of my grape as I did make contact) to 911 dispatch in almost perfect screen format (that is a story in itself) is the reason I'm typing this from, and went through hell in my head and heart at home, not jail. This whole thing was typed through soaking wet eyes. Thank you for the rest of my life for this song, it was the floatation device I clung onto before I completely spiraled out of control. There's a lot more back story and details I wish not to type but i'll go to my grave on every word being truth. Eric 🤘
Fuck yea E, your cape it's my Friday Brother. Never give up! If you ever feel the darkness suffocating and silencing you look to your side because in this trench I will always be by your side.

Saw them with Megadeth, Trivium and Hatebreed in Cincinatti, they opened with this and the energy in the crowd during the intro was insane, it was like, you know its about to go down, you are just preparing yourself for it, I was on the edge of the pit ready to jump in when shit hit the fan, all of a sudden that last "wake up" and all hell broke loose, I was throwing elbows, pushing people double my size down, getting stomped on. Best time of my life
The best metal is when the lyrics actually take you somewhere in your mind's eye. Especially the first minute and 36 seconds of this song for me. It takes me somewhere where the houses, that you somehow know are empty, are illuminated by dim yard lights that struggle to function in the freezing temperatures, snow is 3 feet deep, the roads buried and lost under the stark white, the night sky black and cloudless with stars shining a light that chills you to the bone like icicles, every cloud of breath freezes instantly and the iron of the ornate streetlamps itself is not only covered in frost but frozen so cold it will shatter at a mere touch. This is lyricism at it's finest. It doesn't always have to be hard or heavy or fast. And I love the style it's delivered in, a monotone that's both soothing, yet deeply unsettling. I'd love to hear Lamb of God do an entire song in that style.
That'a someone else's song - a track called 'Marianne' by The Sisters of Mercy' from the album 'First and Last and Always'. The entirety of the section you mentioned is the first verse of 'Marianne'. It's incredible. You should give it a listen - you'd probably love it!!

Honestly, I thought the loss of Chris Adler was going to be really tough to overcome. Chris is amazing, but this guy is a beast on the drums too. The band did not lose a step, and I'm glad for that because I was concerned. Lamb Of God is a band that just keeps getting better as they refine their craft. This song is a fucking banger and it's real tight with great storytelling too, which is a hallmark of these guys. I love it a lot.
The story telling is the best part of LOG. If you had to nitpick, Chris Adlers kick work was a tad bit better, but absolutely no complaints on the overall package. Tight and Awesome.

By the darkest river, beneath the leafless trees
I think I’m drowning, this dream is killing me
In the coldest winter, between the fading lights
I feel I’m falling into a frozen sky
Past the blackest heaven, above the dying stars
I watch me breaking into a million shards
But through the hardest hour, below the cruelest sign
I know I’m waking up from this wretched lie
Wake up

False perceptions, the weight of the world
A universe in the palm of your hand
The artifice of endless strands
Distraction flows down an obsessive stream
Rejection grows into oppressive screams

I fight it the same, don’t waste this day

I love metal and don't think is the art at its best. Hell, I don't even think this is LoG at their best. Not bad, but they've done better.
Yes. Gives me goosebumps.
That is, if you think death is the end. Deep down in their inner consciousness, everyone knows that's not true. I had a knowing deep inside myself when I was an athiest, even though I wouldn't admit it because I was too proud.
John 11:25:27
Jesus said to her, “I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in (trusts in, relies on) Me [as Savior] will live even if he dies; and everyone who lives and believes in Me [as Savior] will never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord; I have believed and continue to believe that You are the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), the Son of God, He who was [destined and promised] to come into the world [and it is for You that the world has waited].”
Yes, Christians like metal too lol.
Ezekiel 36:25-37
"Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your uncleanness and from all your idols. 26 Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My ordinances and do them. "
John 3:1-17
The New Birth
"Now there was a certain man among the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler (member of the Sanhedrin) among the Jews, who came to Jesus at night and said to Him, “Rabbi (Teacher), we know [without any doubt] that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs [these wonders, these attesting miracles] that You do unless God is with him.” Jesus answered him, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again [reborn from above-spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified], he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God.”
Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?” Jesus answered, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh [the physical is merely physical], and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be surprised that I have told you, ‘You must be born again [reborn from above-spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified].’ The wind blows where it wishes and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
Nicodemus said to Him, “How can these things be possible?” Jesus replied, “You are the [great and well-known] teacher of Israel, and yet you do not know nor understand these things [from Scripture]?
For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him."
John 14:1-6
"Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly).

Definitely needed to see this comment. So true. #facts
That's pretty gnarly
I like your symbolism - I took the demons surrounding the car to be more of how we lock ourselves in our little metal boxes - everyone outside of that metal box becomes the enemy - every other driver is an idiot or someone to fear - never realizing our inner demon is behind the wheel. We separate ourselves from the natural to overcome our design - we were not designed to travel at speeds reached in our metal box and we open ourselves to pain and suffering if our box ever fails to protect us from our surroundings.

Got to see them in Irving exactly one day after you. The opening to this song was epic!
Write this into a story man.
@@user-xr3fy8mg8j I'm not that good. But I'd love to make a music video out of this.

I agree with every word. This guy really took away all my worries with this song !
The story telling is the best part of LOG. If you had to nitpick, Chris Adlers kick work was a tad bit better, but absolutely no complaints on the overall package. Tight and Awesome.
