Just letting you guys know I won’t be replying to your comments as quick as I normally do, this is because I’ve moved houses and I’m waiting for the internet to be up and running. Thanks for watching🙌🏻
The reason I will never get a golf r,nice car but just more maintenance and parts to replace, but if you got access to a rump that makes life 10 times easier, good video mate, good information, these videos are and will save golf r owners money in the future.
You need to reset the pump, clear faults even if there are no faults and activate pump relearn through VCDS. In VCDS Basic Settings -> Pump Prime for 30 seconds. (22) AWD -> Output Tests -> Clutch Engaged/Disengaged 2 times for 30 seconds each. Ignition on, Engine off 3. (22) AWD -> Clear codes (even if none are present) 4. (22) AWD -> Basic Settings -> Clear all adaptation values 5.
After I had newer VW software put in my stage 2 7R the Haldex didn’t work anymore. After updating the Haldex too everything worked again. It might be just that. It didn’t even throw any faults or errors when the haldex was out. Just major wheelspin! Before you spend any more check if the haldex software
Had the same issue on mine. Yours is a Gen 5 Haldex system so a lot of posts are relevant to the Gen 4 and can in the main be ignored. Have you run Basic Settings on the Haldex system? Using VCDS... Start the engine. 1. Open Controller 22 - AWD 2. Open Basic Settings - 04 3. In Basic Settings use the drop down selection box to select "MAS02928 - Pump Motor" 4. Hit "Go" and let it run. Took a minute or so, during which time I could hear the Haldex pump cycling up and down and relearning its function. After a while the Pump Basic Setting function "Finished Correctly", and everything started to work properly.
That pump looks like the Haldex pump for 2008-11 Saab and most GM till 2018. I like VW design of the pre filter screen better than GM. Way more surface area to go through if one side gets clogged.
I have this car 2016 Tiguan 4×4 2.0 TDI, i have a problem while full right and full left turns, wheels is sliding. I have made like you made. But problem still continue. Can you help me? This car everytime in 4×4 mode i cant change whan can i do man??? Thanks..
At the same time you change pump, change filter change dem and both sensors. In my case for dem and sensors used ones. I f you can afford it, new ones. And in your case, software update after.
My audi dealership changed the pump for me as well as the filter, oil. Do you think they will update the Haldex software as well, or is that something I should tell them myself?
Feel for you mate. so annoying when you can't pinpoint a problem, without buying possibly unneeded parts. Do you think a vw tech could shed some light down your local stealership? Hope you get it sorted anyway. 🤞
lee williams I’m going to update it then if it’s still not right it has to be the Haldex clutch it doesn’t hold AWD it jumps in and out of it and Thanks 👍🏻
Obdeleven Have you tried the pump motor? AWD -> Basic Settings -> Pump motor Then try reseting adaptations in Basic Settings. Engine on 1. (22) AWD -> Basic Settings -> Pump Prime for 30 seconds It seems to make a humming noise and then seems to purge. Sound is an alive indicator. I've found nothing else to diagnose a pump without taking it out which I also done and put 12v through it and it was fine. 2. Drive off, no launches for a few miles or so. I found this cured my issues and have not seenthe TC light since. the above was from various posts and trial and error with obdeleven.
Feel for you James. There’s nothing more annoying than a fault that refuses to be found. Luckily you’re a dab hand with the spanners or else there would be labour on top too. Hopefully you’ll get to the bottom of it and your bad luck may save someone else a lot of time money and stress. 😊
Mazhar Iqbal it’s nice saving on the labour and its good to give things a go and to learn more, it’ll get sorted I’ll update the haldex then go from there
@@jamesr50 I assume my controller is faulty too, when i plug in my obd scanner and look at the live data for the 4motion system it says that the pump is getting 1,7 Amperes.

James, I think you still need to connect up your VAG-Com and run the adaption for the Haldeman pump

Can it be done with Autel.

Oh, and you'll probably find if you pop your old pump back in and run the same procedure that it'll start working again.
Had this issue this week (Exactly the same). VW did a software update for the haldex and it was fixed. Have a 2015 manual.
nicolan moodley I’ll get the update done Thanks for the info👍🏻

Great video mate very helpful
Are you a fairly new channel man I’ve not seen much of your content but I’m enjoying so far 👊🏼
Louie Hobin That’s good to hear Thankyou I really appreciate it👍🏻
Keeping it real is something I appreciate in your videos. If you have APR TCU tune do you think a reflash is needed?
Kaizer Billimoria Thankyou and I have a manual so it’s only had a ECU tune
You need to use vcds to update the haldex software .
27badbwoy I know someone who can do this and I’ll defiantly give it ago Thanks

I am currently deadly with the same issue now . What worked after ? Thanks in advance
How could you solve the problem? thanks 🙂
I can't seem to unplug the pump sensor from the square metal control unit. Is there a clip somewhere on the plug? Thanks!
It means you should probably get a new car!
what was the problem in the end? I have this problem …
Did you solve the problem I have the same one now.......
Me too. VW wants to put a new pump, I wonder if the software update would do the job.

I have a tornado red golf R.. what wax and polish do you use to get that glossy shine you have? Cheers
Did you complete the pump learn function in vcds?
Where can i find the haldex pump? Because i cant find anything online

Typ nie ogarnia chyba tak podstawowej rzeczy jak serwis haldexa... Leje sie oryginalny BorgWarner a nie jakąś przepłaconą markę. Jeszcze zła pompa.
sad to hear you're having these problems :(
Xopher I’ll get it sorted it’ll be fine now😁
All a side affect of modding and adding more power... The risk you take just amplifies existing common issues...
OliverWiseFitness so true that’s the down side about modifying

@@jamesr50 I have had S3's and RS3's stage stage 1, stage 3 etc. Never had a problem when at stage 1, many problems when at stage 3. Never again.
