    I got to go to Jerome Brown’s football camp. I went to both camps. Before his death and after. I got to go to Jerome’s house after the camp to eat lunch. It was so awesome being 11-12 years old and sitting at a table with. Jerome, Reggie White Randall Cunningham Seth Joyner Keith buyers Keith Jackson and more. That’s one lunch I will never forget.

      I got to meet Reggie White and Meith Jackson at a church where Reggie was a guess and preached to that church. He put Keith Jackson on the pulpit to preach a few words as well. I had to respect that they were their to preach the word and not give out autographs. I only went because my mother said they were going to be there and I wanted autographs not the word..😂😂😂😂. Sorry God..😂😂😂

    One of the greatest defenses of all time. Had Cunningham not gotten injured early in '91 that team may have gone to the Super Bowl. Sad that before the '92 season Jerome Brown (RIP) was killed in a car crash. Probably one of the best teams to never win a Championship.

    @redmustangredmustang Год назад +4

    1991 was it and if Randall didn't go down the first game they would have given the Redskins a run for their money, but at that time the Redskins were just killing it that 91 season. They shut out the Eagles at RFK 23-0 and when the Redskins did play again, the backups were in and the Eagles barely pulled it out with a last second field goal. It was just the offense especially at QB that lagged behind. Jim McMahon was a good backup, but as always he got hurt at the end which stifled the Eagles offense. Dallas who was up and coming beat the Eagles for that wildcard spot and the Falcons got in at 10-6. After that it was downhill for the Eagles. Jerome Brown died in that car accident because he was going too fast down a single lane road and lost control. Jerome made it impossible to run up the middle and once he wasn't there, Emmitt Smith got his first 100 yard game against the Eagles that season. So when the Eagles did pull a wildcard win, they faced the 13-3 Cowboys in the divisional round. The Cowboys were an upcoming team. They had gone 11-5 and a wildcard win the first playoff win since 1982 and the first home game since 1983. So the Eagles were confident and when the game started the Eagles had a 3-0 lead. The the Cowboys got the ball and the game was over. The Cowboys scored on their opening possession and the Eagles just got curbed stomped that game. From there it was even further downhill from there. Reggie White left to the Packers in free agency. Mike Golic went to Miami and slowly the players that solidified that team went away. Andre Waters just wasn't the same after breaking his leg in 1992. The 93 Eagles started fast as they did in 92, but Randall broke his leg against the Jets and had no good backup and the Eagles missed out of the playoffs. In 94, the Eagles again started fast and then the Cowboys beat them and they collapsed again late in the season. The Eagles had a great defense just the Giants, Redskins, and Cowboys were better and got their Super Bowl wins.

    This sound familiar to anyone? I grew up watching this legendary defense, but our Eagles that just won the big game had a very similar story- not the violence (can u imagine today's offense paired w/ Buddy Ryan's 'D'?!) but the comraderie among the team...those guys had Rev. Reggie White, we have "Rev" Carson Wentz, they spent every minute together as brothers, so did our SB LII winners... there's a lesson here-

    The Hogs used to EAT THESE GUYS ALIVE. LOL They reference the body bag game but we went back up there in 2 weeks and pushed their shit in during the playoffs. In 1991 the Hogs crammed the ball down their throats and the team rushed for 171 yards against them. In the last game of the season our backups nearly beat them. A good defense for sure but Joe Gibbs OWNED them.

To say our D line dominated back then truly is an understatement. They totally crunched the o line, rbs, and QBs to a powder 😂. Sad that because of former players suing the league because of their concussions and other bodily injuries, that the way defenses play today is so soft and watered down. I was a baby in pampers during these days of the buddy ryan led eagles teams when grown men were out there playing FOOTBALL! Gotta appreciate the game for what it truly was back in the day.

    Norman Braman will be forever despised by Eagles fans for firing Buddy Ryan.

    • @hdmf
      @hdmf 5 месяцев назад

      More so by by letting some of our key players walk. Ryan should have been fired. He was a great evaluator of talent but not a good head coach. It took Bud Carson to get the most out of this defense. Also, Buddy new nothing about the offensive side of the ball and misused Randall's talents.

      Only the 2000 ravens had a better run defense, and the 02 bucs had a better pass defense. The eagles were more balanced than either team

    Missing the playoffs was the best thing that could've happened to Gang Grene...because their legacy would be a lot different if the last memory of them had been their sideline misery as the RFK faithful have gleefully waved body bags after watching the offense of the greatest TEAM ever make them look ordinary for the third time...

    Cowboys fan here, but attention Mr. Allen: You left out the Steel Curtain. THAT was the greatest defensive unit of all time, but yes, the Eagles were absolutely awesome - until 1992 :)

    This 91 team was the best defense of all time but with no Lombardi attached to it they don't get the notoriety of the likes of the 85 Bears or 2000 Ravens....that year they lost Randall first game of season and Jim McMahon for several games...they still won 10 games with QBs off the scrap yard...mostly because of defense...they were winning 7-6 games....it was Buddy's guys but they all hit their prime after Buddy left the Eagles

    This defense is what made the Dallas Cowboys offense great. They had to build it to beat this defense. Its a shame they had Randall at QB and he was limited in his capacity.

    Sadly, in today's "flag football" NFL, all these great hard hits would have also made this defense the most penalized in the league. It's a shame that this type of physicality has been adjudicated out of the game.
