@Desert Tech totally. Unfortunately my MDRX arrives today. I surely won't regret my purchase. I've been keeping up with your frankly amazing developments on the platform, I look forward to range time with it!
Although I respect their transparency, I wish they could've held this gun until they got it right. They basically used us a "test subjects" for their highly flawed product.
Without the "test subjects", they never would have come up with these improvements. At a certain point, you've just got to accept that the rifle works well enough and release it and let it's success in the market fund further refinement and development. Early adopters should always beware and know what it means to be using a new design just introduced to the market. Manufacturers don't have unlimited time and money for testing, and inevitably many issues large and small are identified once a product is in the hands of many users. The rifle is now getting better and better and while I'm still not yet totally sold, they're slowly winning me over with these steady and significant improvements. I'm impressed with their development process and how they publicize improvement to their systems. It's something I don't see from other bullpup rifle competitors.
First adopters of any product are test subjects intentionally or not, whether it's firearms, microwave ovens, VHS players, to cars. They can only do so much testing that may or may not reveal something that should be addressed before release to public consumers.
So if you found design defects that have impacted fielded guns - why not offer them as free upgrades for those of us who have spent good money to buy the MDRX?
@@billoates8920 Because you bought a product. No one ever said that the product would not continue to be improved, or that it was the best possible design of all time. Hey desert fox, I’m a fully grown person. I would think Desert Tech’s lifetime warranty would cover the newly discovered problems in the MDR platform. I’m just voicing my opinion, just like you. That being said, eat a Dick!
Keep the product range small and he quality high - not to mention keep up with the full disclosure and the customer service. I'd rather have only 4 guns in your entire range that are top notch quality with a robust guarantee behind it from you as the manufacter and you cannot go wrong.

Then the charging handle broke withing 100 rounds and the customer fixed themselves with the parts sent, then didn't get a reply from the warranty department when they inquired about thier magazines not dropping freely like the video demonstrated? Love the concept, but don't love what I got for the $$. I hope it continues to get better. Great vision but my wife's x95 has been flawless out of the box.
I am not familiar with that case, but it is not typical. I would ask any customer with issues to contact us so we can repair their rifle properly.
AR-15 Grip mount option , and then sell your own AR grips that work with the MDRX and the Quattro-15 as well. Upgraded Ejection system and charging handle option,...that relays the amount of rounds ejected from the system to a mini heads up display on reward facing side of the charging handle in the users field of view. Pulling the charging handle resets the counter, and the induction senor circuit and battery is installed just behind the ejection panel release tab on the ejection system. Oh, and a small "battery" compartment on the bottom of the stock for said unit. One can dream lol...
300 BLK Micron coming soon?
DT has said previously that they're unable to do so as they would need to move the gas port for it to function reliably in .300 BLK. I'm hoping the next generation of MDR fixes this cause a Micron in .300 would be a dream
@@splodiedude2391 My Arm Chair Engineer Take: It's absolutely possible on the current gen they just need to find out how much bigger of a gas port they need.
@@fire_tower it's not. They need subsonics to cycle the system and as it sits there won't be enough gas for that with the current setup.
Can the MDRX fire 6mm ARC?
yes it can, but requires custom parts
/@DesertTechUT
I continuously have these exact problems I just purchased the 300 Blackout kit. Purchased additional oprod with the 300 spring installed and it's double feeding triple feeding malfunctioning randomly you have a trade-in program?
Had the same problem with the 556 and the 308.
I already have returned the Bullpup three too many times
Please advise./@DesertTechUT
Of course, I will have someone reach out to you asap to get this problem remedied immediately.
Thank you
Today I call CS for warranty, told me is okay send in my MDRX for free upgrades, thanks!
Does this mean 300BLK Micron?
did we say 300blk micron?
Just wondering to see if anyone can offer some advice. I have a sig rattler in .300 and 556 barrel kits. Someone offered me a like new Desert tech mdrx in 6.5 with ammo and mantis hand guard. Not sure if it is worth it.
SIG is better because sig sauer easy warranty when you need also they upgrade parts for free if it available plus Sig they not lied they don't play hide and see games with customers, I was remember when send in my p320 for extractor issue ended sig replaced lots parts including my fringing pin yes that good, they told every firearm must need to pass Quality standard before ship out from their Warehouse. SIG perfect

Thank you. I’m keeping it.
I know there are 2 types of 223/556 Bolt Assembly, 1st type that hole for Bolt Guide Pin top hole big and bottom hole big same size as Bolt Guide Pin, 2nd type top hole is big and bottom is small (hole for Bolt Guide Pin). What’s different? I know 1st type Bolt Assembly is more bigger because need to push into Bolt Carrier, 2nd Bolt can Easy Drop into Bolt Carrier. Also what about 308 having having 2 types Bolt Assembly? Please answer my questions in details. Thanks!
I'm not sure what you are asking. There are only two types of 223 bolts, forward eject, and side eject. They are clearly different but fit into the bolt carrier the same way
Forward eject, 223/556 Bolt, having 2 type, the question that hole for Bolt Guide Pin
@@bullettee284 there is only one 223 forward eject bolt
What about 300 blackout, because I have 2 Bolt of 223 that print on the extractor, I mix up so which one is for 300 blackout and for 223? 1st Bolt Guide Pin hole top and bottom are same size as bolt guide pin, 2nd Bolt the hole for guide pin top is big same size as guide pin but the bottom is smaller
The only thing I have to be mad about with my MDRX is that I couldn't get mine in that sweet sweet finish through my dealer, whom is small and local.
Sure you can, order it from our website and have it shipped to your local dealer
@Desert Tech totally. Unfortunately my MDRX arrives today. I surely won't regret my purchase. I've been keeping up with your frankly amazing developments on the platform, I look forward to range time with it!
@@Glen-oq7oh We'll see. Platform teething issues are why I've waited
Yep, that's why I've been waiting
First adopters of any product are test subjects intentionally or not, whether it's firearms, microwave ovens, VHS players, to cars. They can only do so much testing that may or may not reveal something that should be addressed before release to public consumers.
So if you found design defects that have impacted fielded guns - why not offer them as free upgrades for those of us who have spent good money to buy the MDRX?
Why should, those of us who bought the MDR have to pay for upgrades on your system deficiencies.
@@billoates8920 Because you bought a product. No one ever said that the product would not continue to be improved, or that it was the best possible design of all time. You apparently thought the original product was good enough to throw money at it. Things change. You don't get next year's car model for free either. Grow up.
Hey desert fox, I’m a fully grown person. I would think Desert Tech’s lifetime warranty would cover the newly discovered problems in the MDR platform.
I’m just voicing my opinion, just like you. That being said, eat a Dick!
The same reason a car manufacturer doesn't upgrade your 2020 model to a 2022.
This aint a video game with downloadable patches bro.
I was excited for the MDRX until the reported issues. Glad I held off on it and will pick one up hopefully this year.
I think I know what I'm buying next.
Jeebus!!!! How many screws does that thing have? Two or three HUNDRED?!?!?!?!?!
11?
@@DesertTechUT Seriously?!??!?! 'Cuz it looks like a LOT!!!!! I could live with 11. Seriously...just 11????
Keep the product range small and he quality high - not to mention keep up with the full disclosure and the customer service. I'd rather have only 4 guns in your entire range that are top notch quality with a robust guarantee behind it from you as the manufacter and you cannot go wrong.
Still waiting on those accuracy improvements. Sure it may be as accurate as an AR15 but an AR15 doesn't cost $3800.
What MDRX in 5.56 costs $3800?
This is what I call a GHOST GUN.
Ill wait till they get their stuff together before I consider purchasing. 8 years in the making, keep working on it. A little harsh but I'm the consumer and I expect quality and reliability for your price point. Ford has not got it right yet and they have been around a a lot longer...

Your loss...
Linkage and gas system are potential malfunctions to MDR MDRX they need to recall
No, they are not.
Their ad said potential malfunction, DT known what’s happening, I don’t think it’s recall but they need OFFER current owners of MDR MDRX to be upgraded, DT I know your company can do it
Wow…just wow I want one now
This is CA Compliant so I think this will be my choice rather than another modular rifle that’s also nice but not CA Compliant.
Plz make AR grip compatible, and license roller sear triggers from TriggerTech. 18" 6mm ARC and 22" 6.5 Creedmoor plz.
Side-eject .308 MDRX when
SE 6.5 creedmoore when
We need side eject kits!
side eject 308 when?
They don't answer any questions, this is Exactly how their customer services, if customer service do not improve how can products improve 🤔
which question do you have that hasn't been answered?
Um, purchase? Excuse me? So anyone who spent over $2500 on your MDRX product recently is just SOL?
If you stand by your products and customers, we should be able to send in our rifles for these improvements free of charge minus shipping cost.
Is that how it works with your car? When you buy a 2022 model do they upgrade it to a 2023 model free of charge minus shipping costs?
This is not a required update or recall or something, it's simply a new & improved option.
@@DesertTechUT The burr removal addresses a fairly serious issue in your product. Not to mention mag release issue. Anything to do with reliability in a PDW is a serious concern..
Dept of Transportation: Ok Desert Tech, your car has a seat belt (magazine) retention issue, it's not safe, you need to recall the affected units.
Desert Tech: Na, our customers can pay for a new one if they want it fixed. 🤡
@@SighsInternally If your rifle has a problem with magazine retention, it can be repaired or replaced under our warranty policy. The 2023 upgrades are not a recall, or a warranty issue. The burr removal in the barrel is the exact same problem any other barrel from any manufacturer has, all of a sudden because we did something about it makes it an issue with only OUR product?
Unless there is a safety issue resulting from a design/manufacturing defect, there is no legal or ethical obligation for them to upgrade their products for free. This is basically a 1st to 2nd generation-style upgrade service.
Misleading advertising
I’m confused at why they are selling “upgrades” for inferior defective parts they sold in the first place. Car dealers do recalls and fix for free. This makes me not want one at all
You're right, we will stop looking for better ideas and product improvements, that's a better way to go.
This company just don’t want to help, I told you I have 2 type 223 forward bolts witch is for 300 blackout and witch for 223, they just try to running around the questions and don’t want to answer because they want to hide bad things. One bolt is too big have to Push into Bolt Carrier, and other bolt just let go and drop into Bolt Carrier, lets fix the issue don’t need to Hide
Nobody is trying to hide anything, your questions have been less than clear. If you have an issue with installing your bolt, then you need to contact our CS/warranty dept so we can help you. You can call us at 801-975-7272 or you can email us at: warranty.service@deserttech.com

Don’t buy anything from this company
I just saw your quadmag for AR15 low receivers which is hilariously awesome. Will you make a new MRDX or mod that will be compatible with that quadmag?
You know i still want my 5.56/300blk only version of the MDR that's lighter and more compact.
But this seems like a few steps in the right direction.
This is great. But Desert Tech should do a combat reliable 5.56 (and .300blk) size bullpup. No fancy ejection, no .308 size and weight.
Just a lightweight, compact, reliable bullpup with a precision trigger. The gun the AUG and Tavor and L85 always wanted to be.
16" and 12" options. No barrel touching picatinny slot that burns up your hand. A little less modularity. Just reliable, compact and lightweight.
Oh, and maybe an improved trigger pack. Maybe even work with Triggertech or Hiperfire. We would absolutely pay for even better triggers.
You should split the MDR family into short and long action. Do a combat reliable 5.56 (and .300blk) size bullpup. No fancy ejection, no .308 size and weight.
Just a lightweight, compact, reliable bullpup with a precision trigger. The gun the AUG and Tavor and L85 always wanted to be. 16" and 12" options. No barrel touching picatinny slot that burns up your hand.
And then the current big boy version for 308, 6.5 and now 8.6blackout, also with a micron configuration.
