I wanted the forward eject for the longest time on the mdrx but I picked up a side eject and I like it. It allows me to check the chamber, clear malfunctions if they occur, clear and make safe, and generally operate it better.

Not sure about the MDRX, but the Tavor 7 works well with pre ban (pre 1994) AR10 waffle mags. That's important stuff for us who don't live in free states. You just need a small file to square off the cut out on the magazine for the retention mechanism. Takes 30 seconds and runs flawless.

Do you say this as someone who owns one, or as someone who likes the MDRX as an idea? Because this gun has a massive amount of people who have no time on it, but talk about how great it is. I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience with IWI. I had a 2021 MDRX with both 5.56 and .308 barrels and it was the worst gun purchase I have ever made. The best thing I can say about it was that it was 1 moa accurate, nice with a can and that I wanted to love it. The button mag release can stop working, the safety is just kinda mush, you can easily induce hard jams if you don't cycle the charging handle with the right amount of force, the plastic handguards are not capable of handling a bipod and barely a sling. Ever jam is a hard jam and will down the gun until you take the covers off. From my experience the .308 ejection system is more prone to jamming because of the wide case mouth and how it enters the ejection chute. My 5.56 kit would go probably 100-200 rounds of non taxing fire rate before anything weird happened, the 308 maybe 40. I think if one buys the side eject 5.56 with a metal handguard its probably more GTG, but this gun is not of the same reliability, quality or robustness as other rifles in it's price range such as my B&T, Sig Virtus or LMT MWS. The guy who bought mine pulled the charging handle back after getting it and it snapped off. He had to send the whole gun in and I never asked what happened after. I've never had such high hopes followed by such disappointment with a purchase. If you want to buy one, good luck, maybe you'll be happier than I was with mine.
@@Thecarbonviper No I own a TG36CP, my friend who introduced me to 3-gun runs an mdrx in the 556 config. The only issue he's stated having is running steel cased and his gun didn't like my lancer mags but he ran pmags no prob. We swap guns often during target practice but run our own rigs during competition. His is the side eject version. I've personally ran at least 15-20 mags through his rig. I agree that Desert Tech isn't on par with those last few companies. Most of then are pumping out ARs that have mostly had the dirty work done for them. That mdr is still relatively new and hasn't gotten the range time as most other systems out there. As such, it seems like when customers get one it's very hit or miss. Due to that, I don't believe they should be charging 2k+ for it, it should be about 1.5 max, but from the experience of the one I get to shoot, it doesn't match the hate that it gets.
The mdrx has definitely had its issues and has its weak spots but I'm fine with those for the value I get. I don't feel like it's much of a compromise though. My mdrx can run hard and dirty and keep going. Flat shooting, accurate, maneuverable, comfortable.
Desert Tech needs to just release a side eject version of the MDR in 308, sometimes simpler is better. There's just too many QC issues with the forward eject system, especially in the 308 model from what I've seen. In my opinion the MDR looks way cooler then the Tavor 7, but reliability and track record matters.
I own both rifles. I've had no trouble at all with the T7, but I had to send the MDR-X forward ejection back to the factory before I ever got to shoot it for a mis-aligned ejection port cover; after about a hundred rounds, I discovered one of the side screws missing (Desert Tech replaced it). I bought the 5.56 conversion kit and at about 90 rounds (IIRC) the bolt broke in half. Desert Tech replaced the bolt, but I had already re-converted it to .308; however, after trying to fire a magazine of .308, I started having problems with ejection - cases sticking in the ejector. I really wanted to like the MDR-X, but I'm not sure I'd trust it for more than a range toy.
I've only heard of Tavor needing a break in before it can run cheap steel case reliably, but I heard a whole slew of issues with past and present MDR's. I bet the DT would be a better gun for hunting but for SD/SHTF Tavor all the way
Just fired my MDRx for the first time. First mag had issues with cycling so I removed the FE module and allowed it to extract as a SE, still had issues. second mag I was able to cycle reliably without the FE module. Third mag I was able to rapid fire with the FE module attached. Overall happy with it. That said, DT as a company, their lower levels, suck. Bad. Really bad. Like… horrible customer service.
@@Gruntreviews are there any accessories that can be added to the tavor to give it the same form factor/look as the mdrx? I don't like how boxy the tavor looks compared to the sleek look of the other one.
We have to point out the fact the MDRX is way less reliable compared to Tavor 7. The Tavor 7 can be throw in mud nasty water and all and the MDRX stops working as soon as it gets nasty the bolt on MDRX is flat and it uses a scissor type ejector the Tavor uses a AR-10 type rotating bolt double ejector and extractor
The very first thing anyone should do when purchasing the MDRX is take that front plastic section off and attach the Mantis hand guard. It’s all metal, including the rail, and also functions as a bipod. It only adds 300g to the weight of the gun. Desert Tech should just be including them at this point. And I wouldn’t actually recommend putting anything on the rail that attaches to the barrel. If you were to be in any situation where you’re got to rest the gun on something that may be touching that sight, you’ve just compromised your floating barrel and killed your accuracy. I was a big fan of Tavor until the MDRX was released. It’s not really even close at this point from a competition standpoint. Desert Tech has made a lighter, shorter, far more accurate and reliable rifle. My last jam was in June 2020. Just going by the amount of ammo Federal sends me per year, that was at least 38,000 rds ago. The MDR trigger is also much nicer out of the box, while Tavor does have an after market option that gets it close, it’s still a long way off from the couple after market triggers available on the MDR. Here’s the incredibly biased opinion of a guy who competes exclusively with bullpups. Rifles and shotgun alike.
in germany the sell them in 300 blk and they run perferfekt - beside u cannot move the gasport adjustment - but it runs sub and supers all day long. Supers at 1.5 moa no problem in 300aac. The 308 with the right ammunition it likes is easy sub 1 moa maybe 0.5 moa on an good day with the can on
Aesthetically I love the MDR, I just couldn't find it in me to spend the coin on it with its issues in regards to the forward eject being a problem and the weaker polymer (mentioned in GarandThumb videos). I went with the 7 because its IWI, they make battle tested weapons so you know it's good. Shes chunky but shes good, just wish the front end was sleek like the MDR
@@Odinforever2000 yet. I only said they make battle tested weapons I never said it was specifically a battle tested rifle. With that said though, I spoke with Colin at IWI about the T7 and he stated the rifle went through many different 20,000 round tests before hitting the market. So with that, I trust the T7 in regards to reliability
@@Odinforever2000 if you read, I say "IWI makes battle tested weapons" aka the tavor sar/x95, galil etc that they offer. I never say it's a battle tested weapon, but the company makes battle tested weapons so they wouldn't make a gun if it wasnt up to the standards they've produced. I believe the T7 will hit the battlefield 1 day though. Every "battle rifle" is typically a 308 and the Israelis love the tavor so itll definitely be in a conflict
I’ve had the t7 in Canada for the past two years and it’s never once failed me, for the price point I think it’s best in class from my experience. Just wish I could get a better grouping w it past 200yd 1.5 moa seems to be the best this gun can do but considering what it was built for that really doesn’t bother me all that much, just something to keep in mind if you specifically want a 308
I like both rifles but would rather have a Galil ACE rifle in 308. I have owned several bulpup rifles over the years but keep going back to a standard layout. If I had to make a choice between the two I would go with the Tavor all day, you just can't beat a Israeli made firearm. In my mind the Tavor is a true military quality firearm. The MDRX is a civilian firearm and nothing more.
I have an M14 with 18" barrel, love it, iron sites nail drivers, fun to shoot, LOUD, and blows my hair back when shot, lol. So this is closer to the shooter, is the sound more or less? recoil comparable?
I've had my MDRX (.308) for about 4 months now so if you will allow me to add my personal input to the lexicon... Also, I trained with the 5.56 Tavor (MkI) in Israel in 05 so a few notes there. The trigger on that Tavor was horrendous! Like 14+ lbs horrendous! Then again, this was just as they were beginning to issue them to the IDF so like the first run of a newly designed car; there gonna be issues. Good to see the big daddy Tavor got that trigger down to X95 specs. I'm curious as to the accuracy on the T7... The Mk1 Tavor was pretty bad (ok, like a well-worn M16A1)... a friend has a Tavor X95 and it's a good bit better but nothing compared to a decent AR with a free-float handguard much less a Gucci AR with something like a PacNor or other match-grade barrel. In the case of the T7, it's good to know your $1-$2 piece of brass coated lead will land where you want it to, right? How's the accuracy on that thing? OK, back to the MDRX... I grew up on our patron saint Eugene Stoner's AR design and it's like an extension of my body... the Katana to the Samurai if you will. It's my go-to and will always be but I love the bullpups... especially a heavy hitter with 1/2 MOA capability like the MDRX. While the overall ergonomics and controls are somewhat Stoner-familiar, the rifle (and platform) is completely different. This does NOT handle like an AR... in fact, it has taken me monts to get comfortable shooting it. The worst is the balance... instead of weight-front like an AR, this is weight rear or neutral (actually, somewhere in between). This causes a LOT of sway when shooting but nothing more time behind the trigger won't cure. Bullpups are a different animal and have to be respected as such... don't expect to pick up one and shoot it like you do your old familiar AR, AK, FAL, M1A!, G3, etc. I've put 400rnds downrange plus hours at the FOB doing dryfire drills and still am not 100% comfortable with this in a combat format... but that's just me. Based on my PERSONAL experience... put a direct MLOK AVG on the handguard... it helps give a natural hand angle that gets contorted by the short/close to strong-hand grip. When going for accuracy, USE A BIPOD OR BAG! The balance is WEIRD on this thing and you WILL "wobble" around when trying to shoot. Practice, practice, practice... then dryfire practice, dryfire practice, dryfire practice! It takes a while to get used to but you will eventually get the hang of it. Trigger pull - When I got mine, it was a slightly creepy 5.4lb pull... I've put 400+/- live downrange and a buttload of dryfire around the house... it's now a crisp and smooth 4.1 pull according to my scale. Pretty damn awesome for any rifle much less a bullpup! MUZZLEBLAST ON THIS (and any other 16" .308/7.62 bullpup with an efficient muzzlebreak) IS HORRENDOUS!!! Ever been to the eye doctor and they do that air-puff to the eyes thing on you? Well, that's every shot with the MDRX!!! Oh, not to mention it blows the had off your spotter and sends his data book flying... yea, that side-blast is pretty brutal! I guess that great efficient Ratchet muzzlebrake 22"+/- from your face might have something to do with it, right? But hey, there's hope! Someone at Desert Tech had the forethought to give the Ratchet the same base profile as Strike Industries' muzzlebrakes... which means... that awesome-ass Oppressor slip-over blast deflector made for their King Comp and other brakes will fit and deflect that horrendous blast at your foes like a mini flashbang where it belongs!!! That was some clever engineering there! The wait time on mine (ordered direct from DT) was 10-1/2 months... yea, I almost didn't want it but after that first mag, yea, nah, this little beast ROCKS! Hope you have patience if you want one! CS at DT was great at first... order was smooth, got email updates, etc. One day, the barrel, bolt and covers came in! Called and emailed to find out when the rest of this beaut would be in... crickets. Calls went to recording, never got callbacks. Emails went unanswed. I FINALLY got delivery to my FFL confirmation 8 days after it arrived... uh, yea, ok. I know DT's customer service on products already in customers hands is great but for those awaiting backorders with overdue orders wanting updates or answers, they BITE! So far, I've had no issues with std pmag 20's or pmag 25'5 or Hexmag's... the shining star has been the AR Stoner mags from Midway that I had reserved for my M110A4 (6.5CM) but they really ran well and changed over great... cheap too! Now... ammo accuracy! The first 200 was just for break-in. I had some old... OLD Israeli 148g "match" I bought 25 years ago with a '76 headstamp I decided to chomp up and use the brass to reload (this rifle is WAY softer on brass than a FAL... as soft as a M21/M1A1... opposite side of the planet from a G3!). Accuracy SUCKED! 7" groups using a 8x ACSS at 100m. Sure, might be the archaic ammo but 7 MOA? The next 80 I dug up some old '87 headstamped Brit Radway Green... shot 4"... hmmm? Pulled a box of M118LR from my M24-gery's gun-case and it shot a solid 1-3/4 group on a bad day (I was tired). So this IS possibly capable of sub MOA accuracy... hmmm!!! I have some serious spinal issues that have kept my range-time limited but now that the little beast is broken in, I plan on taking some good stuff to feed her (my home-brewed M118LR) and set a final zero on the ACSS then pull the Arken 6-24x off the .300WM and see what kind of groups this thing is actually capable of. Thanks Gruntreviews for this vid! I hope my experience and input adds to the lexicon of information.
@Eric X you think the MDRX is a wierd balance, try a P90!!! That thing is so cool, but so hard to aim!!! (Or is the problem that it is too easy to aim and we over-correct?)
@@no-hg4xi I got to fire one of the early (before general issue) Tavor's... yea, accuracy was like a Romanian AK at best. Originally, I thought it was the 12lb+/- trigger the thing had on it but after a friend got his semi-auto import, I got more time and realized it's the barrel... light, thin and "good enough" for 200-300m. Reliability... undoubtedly supreme. When you account what the IDF was looking for (compactness, handiness, reliability and "service rifle" accuracy), it passed in all catagories. I bug my Izzy friend over there and tell him if IWI would bring me in and let me do some redesigning of the thing (stronger trunnion, medium countor or heavy-fluted 5R or polygonal rifled match barrel, a couple little gas system issues and let me stick a Geissele trigger in it), they could have a 1 MOA DMR! My offer of "cover my expences and give me a couple samples to take home and we're even" offer still stands. Oh well.
Tavor 7 in 7.62x51 is something I could get behind and actually run it in a SHTF situation, and I would trust it. I owned an original Tavor in 5.56. I never had a single failure or malfunction with it. Wanting another bull-pup, I keep researching the Tavor 7 and MDR-X. And I keep coming across bad stuff about the MDR-X 😢 I wish this was not the case, and it looks just GORGEOUS too. But I don’t want a non battle tested platform. IWI is known to make some worthy items. So… I guess we’re forced to save money and get a Tavor 7 for $1,800 bucks brand new with 10% discount promo code on the popular retailer websites.
@@Gruntreviewsbasically. I had an original 762 MDR. Went back to DT 3 times before I sold it. Running a 556 SE now and so far it runs flawlessly. She does have uneven wear on moving parts which match the poor QC/tolerance issues I experienced with the original MDR, but she’s not choking, jamming, or outright locking up like the original model.
@@Gruntreviews exactly. I’ve been privy to some of the early engineering info and I did discover some glaring issues with the project early on. But ultimately they have corrected most of them and funds permitting, they should consider redesigning some key areas of the platform eventually. Mag release being a key area for sure.
Aftermarket barrel on the MDR / MDRX can bring accuracy to under 1 moa I have heard from several sources. We need to band together to urge PROOF Research to make carbon fiber barrels for the MDR / MDRX in .308 and 6.5CM!!!!! 😁
I remember about 17 yes ago I was walking down a random street in Israel and I saw this huge good looking soldier with a tavor. He looked like a superhero action figure. Back then soldiers only every carried the M16 / M4, to see a soldier carrying a polymer gun that looked so small across this guy's chest was sureal. The Tavor was obviously in the experimental stage or just in use by special forves cos I didn't see any mention of the gun in the news till much later.

In my experience the mdrx is cheaper then the tavor 7. Atleast around me. I got my 6.5 creedmoor version for $2,200 and all the tavor 7s I've seen around me were $2500. Also desert tech has stated that 25 round mags shouldn't be used. I know it sucks because it's expensive gun but they have stated from the very beginning not to use 25 round mags. Although I have seen people modify the mag catch and successfully run them. Me personally I wouldn't use 25 round mags anyway because it's heavy enough with the 20s I don't find the extra 5 rounds worth it. And now that the mdrx has the micron kit it seems to me to be the easy choice.
25 round pmags. They indicated its because of the geometry. It does work well with 25rd lancer mags. Price wise, I can different markets bringing different prices at LGS.
I guess it depends on what you're looking for. The T7 is built like a tank, at the sacrifice of forward eject and a slight bit of theoretical accuracy. The MDRX has some cool features, can be shot off hand, and is theoretically slightly more accurate. Downside is it's far more complicated and more prone to failures without maintenance.
a real difference is with bolt locked to rear. you can show clear, real nice in 2 gun comp and pulling action. plus the tavor ha a 3rd mag release in the rear. it is mainly set as a back up if the 2 in front jam. dessert Teck is JUNK. well over priced JUNK. they are behind on production, because they are to busy fixing recalls.. when mine worked it was great, but not reliable, not a bug out rifle. got rid of it for a Tavor 7.
@@noncorporeal1 yes it dose, and still say when it worked it was fine, big when it worked. Mine was never reliable. If they can fix the quality issues. It would be a good bullpup.
No issues to report here with the first 100 rounds in the newest 2023 mdrx.... 16" 308 FE I prefer the higher quality and better looking American made bullpup if you ask me and the mantis handguard with integrated bipod is awesome. It is heavy AF with a scope , can and full drum mag though , so soy boys need not apply.....😂.
Guys the Tavor 7 is so much better it has a locking lug action but the MDRX has a flat bolt face in preset to have multi cal ability check it out it even has a scissor style ejection
Film yourself putting 1000 rounds through that MDRx and see how well their forward eject holds up. Desert Tech's solution is to pop off the cover and let it shoot out the side like the Tavor 7. You can tell this guy hasn't fired either one of these much.
I need to find a sponsor or something. I'd love to do 1000rds straight, but that would hurt what little is left in my wallet after gas prices and inflation.
@@rmarms6702 lol yeah right. Everyone with a first or second gen mdx has had issues. Mine has been through every "fix" Desert Tech has issued before it finally started cycling/ejecting correctly.
Our Country is stupid as hell. Can't have an AR that's a couple inches shorter but you can buy these kinda guns. A bit of a head scratcher, although iv never actually got to shoot something like this so is there something I'm missing in this situation?
It's still a legal barrel length. The bullpup design allows a shorter overall length, generally at the expense of trigger feel due to the need for a long trigger bar.
Nope, he missed the best part of the MDRX........ It breaks down and travels in its very own plastic breifcase sized case!!!! Like a James Bond gun!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I was even able to use a heat gun on the case and get my 20" 6.5 CM barrel into the case.
So, your review was a total failure because you failed to even mention the best part of the MDR / MDRX. The cool plastic case it breaks down and fits into like an assasins sniper rifle!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Other than that, great review! (I also subbed, gave a thumbs up, and made several comments to make up for the chastisement 🤣)
Tavor is going to be harder to fire with gloves on. I don't like the magazine insertion action on the Tavor. Also, if you look at how far down the barrel is on the Tavor vs the DT, it's not going to sight in as well. The barrel should be as level with pica-tinny rail as possible. Once you mount your scope on that thing, there might be 6" drop! I don't know how anyone could think that's a good design if you want accuracy at a distance.
Bought my T7 for thick woods hunting. "Hard to shoot with gloves on", That is FALSE. I also intentionally mounted my LVPO high for what some of us knew from back in the day, that high is better. Accuracy does NOT suffer from such high mount positions, another FALSE. "Accuracy at a distance"... While I fully comprehend and understand the use and purpose of the "DMR", and that a "Bullpup" rifle would generally NOT be considered for such use, that will and can largely depend, once again, on the man behind the gun! Out to 650 yards, my own T7 using my own hand loads of 168 Nosler BTBT bullets, it will function as a "DMR" very well. Bullpups are not for everyone and many cannot muster the skills to shoot them with accuracy. I had to re-think and adjust my "style" to conform to the Bullpup and I'm glad that I did! The advantages for me out weigh any so-called disadvantages. But then, I don't give a damn about "forward ejection" or shooting games... just real life.

IWI has a much better position in terms of quality control and a history of reliability. The MDRX is lacking in both areas, but they have been improving. Given the scenario you mentioned, I'd go with the T7. It's less picky about mags and has less moving parts. It's a more robust platform for hard use.

For more anecdotal evidence, the Only problem my MDRX in 6.5CM has had is failure to fire due to light (meaning damn near imperceptible) primer strikes. Roughly 1 per 20 rd mag. It also can be challenging to remove rounds manually with the FE apparatus, but once you get the feel for it, it's not a problem. I have heard the problem can be fixed with the aftermarket drop in FCG, but at around $250, it seems extreme for a gun with a lifetime warranty.

Tommy builds nice stuff
Plus IDF is adopting the M4 over the X95 now in a lot of units.
The mdrx has definitely had its issues and has its weak spots but I'm fine with those for the value I get. I don't feel like it's much of a compromise though. My mdrx can run hard and dirty and keep going. Flat shooting, accurate, maneuverable, comfortable.
I'm convinced the tavor (non x95) is the best bullpup in existence. Throw in a tav-d trigger and it's better than any other bullpup in every category
Thank you for dropping a commenr!
It definitely would be nice to see a SE 308
absolutely ! I am waiting on a 556 side eject , hopefully @deserttech will have a 308 side eject kit out soon
You can remove the forward eject plate and it will still operate well and out sideways.
They do now!
Mdrx gen3 /wlvrn it's 1.5 pounds lighter, more accurate and less complex due to the redesign allowing for removal of 49 internal part's.
It's definitely a work in progress. Great idea, rough execution.
Really covered everything, great work. Nice rifles from two great manufacturers.
Thank you for the kind words
I've only heard of Tavor needing a break in before it can run cheap steel case reliably, but I heard a whole slew of issues with past and present MDR's. I bet the DT would be a better gun for hunting but for SD/SHTF Tavor all the way
I do like the MDRX and features, but I definitely wouldn't select it for a go to war type rifle.
You're not the first person to mention that.
@@Gruntreviews are there any accessories that can be added to the tavor to give it the same form factor/look as the mdrx? I don't like how boxy the tavor looks compared to the sleek look of the other one.
There's a few different rail systems, and a few grips. That's about it.
I’m stuck between these two vs just getting the CMMG Banshee .308 win pistol. Can someone give me their opinion please
Thank you for the comment!
Would liked to have seen you shoot both ... in ORDER to get a better view of how each recoils!
Noted
Realistically the mantis without the bipod should've been included from the factory for the asking price of the weapon.
The next gun I plan on buying is the MDRX with the 300blk and 6.5 creedmore 20 inch conversions.
Hopefully they re-release the 300blk kits.
in germany the sell them in 300 blk and they run perferfekt - beside u cannot move the gasport adjustment - but it runs sub and supers all day long. Supers at 1.5 moa no problem in 300aac. The 308 with the right ammunition it likes is easy sub 1 moa maybe 0.5 moa on an good day with the can on
The MDRX or the Tavor?
Aesthetically I love the MDR, I just couldn't find it in me to spend the coin on it with its issues in regards to the forward eject being a problem and the weaker polymer (mentioned in GarandThumb videos). I went with the 7 because its IWI, they make battle tested weapons so you know it's good. Shes chunky but shes good, just wish the front end was sleek like the MDR
T7 is a commercial rifle..No military is actually using it.
supposedly the MDRX fix most of the problems that the original model have, especially after the InRangeTV guys tested the gun.
@@TonyCOBHC666 Battle tested...What Battle has the T7 been in?....I have to see this gun in a Garand thumb video...
Just wish I could get a better grouping w it past 200yd 1.5 moa seems to be the best this gun can do but considering what it was built for that really doesn’t bother me all that much, just something to keep in mind if you specifically want a 308
Ita much more battle rifle and much less DMR
I like both rifles but would rather have a Galil ACE rifle in 308. I have owned several bulpup rifles over the years but keep going back to a standard layout. If I had to make a choice between the two I would go with the Tavor all day, you just can't beat a Israeli made firearm. In my mind the Tavor is a true military quality firearm. The MDRX is a civilian firearm and nothing more.
I do love me some galil ace.

I have an M14 with 18" barrel, love it, iron sites nail drivers, fun to shoot, LOUD, and blows my hair back when shot, lol. So this is closer to the shooter, is the sound more or less?
recoil comparable?
Sound is about the same, it's still .308. Recoil energy wi be similar, but you tend to get less muzzle rise.

Both my X95 and T7 are underwhelming in the accuracy dept, around 3 MOA on a good day . Dummy reliable though

Damn that's so bad Tavor 7 works great with 25 round mag even with 5 bullet extender so 30 bullets total
Opposite in my neck of the woods, found a 7 for 1,999 and the mdrx was 2,399.

Barrel pivot lock. It's for barrel removal.
@@Gruntreviews Is the T7 worth it? Is it everything it's meant to be for a 308 bullpup?
I guess it depends on what you're looking for. The T7 is built like a tank, at the sacrifice of forward eject and a slight bit of theoretical accuracy. The MDRX has some cool features, can be shot off hand, and is theoretically slightly more accurate. Downside is it's far more complicated and more prone to failures without maintenance.

Generally the bullpup design is geared more towards CQB and short range engagements.
Just say ambi if speech isn’t your forte
Indeed. Words are hard.
That tavor has 18 inch barrel not 16..
Incorrect. It's actually a 16.5

@orginyigam732 I know you're wrong. I do appreciate ya dropping a comment.
Well, that wasn't helpful... I was hoping you would state your preference of 1 over the other, and offer your reasons...but you didn't do that...
It all depends on the use
@@Gruntreviews : Long usage going without cleaning for several weeks, dirty, damp, wet, muddy, tropical environment ...Aside from that there is a dry and dusty environment... The the East are Laos and Cambodia. Drugs travel in from Burma and Laos. Weapons travel through here and this place is only used for transit
IWI has a much better position in terms of quality control and a history of reliability. The MDRX is lacking in both areas, but they have been improving. Given the scenario you mentioned, I'd go with the T7. It's less picky about mags and has less moving parts. It's a more robust platform for hard use.
The MDR is a piece of 💩. I had one for about 3 months and couldn’t get it to run more than 3 rounds without jamming. DT refused to fix it so I sold it.
Why did they refuse to fix it? It has a lifetime warranty.
@@gamelord1000 I purchased and sold the MDR before all the RUclips videos were released showing all the extractions issues. Before that DT blamed the customer saying it was the customers fault. Once the videos were released DT could not blame the customers anymore and were forced to fix their rifle, but I had already had enough of DT and their 💩 customer service.

MDR is clearly trash cuz it doesn't have the cutlass type grip
Thank you for the comment!
Not recommended MDRX
Thank you for the comment.
desert techs are fragile and prone to jams when dirty with that dumb ass brass eject system
They offer both versions, so pick the side eject if you don't like it and save some money too.
.308 and 6.5 aren't available in side eject.

Ambidextrous not "Ambidextrious"
Indeed
That always bugs me too.... 😂
Okay, I’ll be the one to say it. It’s not ambidext-REE-ous. It’s ambidextrous, exactly how it’s spelled.
Excellent video otherwise, but I couldn’t let you go through life saying that word wrong with confidence.
