This series is great. I never use fighter except for gaining the augments sinew and vehemence. I may mess around with it in gransys. My pawn will have to be the guinea pig on BBI lol. Speaking of that, thanks for the Strider tips for my pawn. Once I changed her inclinations out to what you recommended she became much more active in fights. They really need a cooperative Dragon's Dogma, enabling players to tackle ridiculously challenging dungeons together. WITHOUT ruining the fighting mechanics with mmo conventions.
Switch version launched and I finally decided to give this game a go. Glad I did because it's probably one of my favorite video games next to Bloodborne, and one of the only games to ever get me truly invested in party management. On the topic of fighter, though, for my first playthrough I spent twenty-five levels as an assassin for a strength boost for mine. Really helps knock BBI down a peg as I'm heading into it as a freshly level 50 NG+ character. Wish me luck.
I really love how capcom loves to cross reference their own games, hindsight slash is basically the back step for the sword and shield in monster hunter infact, the whole skillset is just the sns attacks in the mh series. Fun fact: Hindsight slash is guard cancellable. So bascically a dodge for fighter that costs a small amount of stamina Except for blink strike. Thats dante's stinger
Deflect is an absurdly powerful core skill when you know how to use it. The pawns can certainly use it nigh impeccably, but bear in mind some shield skills can interfere with perfect blocking as well as stamina in the case of pawns.
Yo I just learned that Fighters do indeed have a dodge! Hindsight Slash has the dodge animation, but it doesn't cost stamina until the attack happens AND it can be jump or block canceled! As if Fighter needed more I-frames!
@@arisen7163 well they are two different kinds of skills. Hindsight is a I frame skill with a counter. The counter from hindsight slash will do a lot of burst damage compared to other fighter skills. Sheltered isnt a i frame skill. It’s a spam skill you can keep up nonstop while blocking at the cost of stamina drain. You can’t really compare the two.
@@chilairearts4238 I know what it is, but I can shred a cursed dragon in 30 seconds with sheltered assault, I can't with heinsight. I don't need s, I have my shield which I love
Hey! I just found your channel and it's pretty insane to see someone else that's paid attention to all these intricacies of the game, been my favorite game since I played the demo back in ps3, god knows how many hours I would have tracked if ps3 did that, I had pretty much every item in the game dragonforged. Yeah pretty obsessed, anyways that was kind of an uncessesary opening all I really was gonna say is there's this thing I do with sword classes where you can give a short pause after your second swing so you can begin your first swing again and essentially spam those first two normal attacks, I remember deciding to try it because I was trying Alot of fighting games at the time and started getting in the habit of learning the exact moment attack animations finished in more than just fighting games and found that you can pull stuff like this in a lot of games and I kinda don't see people use It in anything but fighting games, probably kind of silly thing to mention but i just thought it'd be interesting to point out (Sorry for the long run on sentence I'm just watching a bunch of your videos before bed and I'm pretty tired so just kinda typing mindlessly like if I was talking) Man looking at all this it's cool to see someone with similar taste (always thought tenfold blast arrow stuff was really boring and 99% of new players playing dogma do stuff like that) We kinda have this similar way of playing experimenting with different skills that aren't as popular, and avoiding op gear and things in general
I do not like going for OP play. I hate when a fight is over on seconds, but also I hate when a fight takes 15 minutes with attacking a leg. Dogma can be easy or it can be hard, we have the choice of how we want it. I found a good balance for me and that's where I like to be
this new series is Great! i was going for a Mystic knight on a new playthrough but that class is so not good to play when compared to a good fighter! Really waiting for your explanations and toughts on the Assassin!! Great vids!
When I first started DD I chose fighter and couldn't beat grigori so I just quit and reset my character to be a strider but this video makes me want to go fighter again. So thank you good sir
Another nice video. My Fighter pawn (I have 3 min maxed "dicipline grinded" level 20 pawns) Is equipped with the "Force Hatchet" and the "Rusted shield". The "Force Hatchet" charges up every time you strike. It takes 6 strikes to fully charge and double your attack. Unfortunately, if you get hit while you are charged, it will deplete your stamina to 0. This is where the "Grit" augment really shines: 1) Heavenly Slash 2) Steel Will 3) Dragons Maw (I only equip 2 shield abilities:) 1) Shield Strike 2) Cymbal Assault (only if I equip the pawn with the "Rusted Shield". Otherwise I leave it blank). Augments Clout Vehemence Grit (very important for Force Hatchet and Dragons Maw) Proficiency Ferocity Tenacity. (Scather/Mitigator) This pawn took the most experiment to get something strong at a low level, (the strider being the easiest to create) because I was trying to get the pawn to use Dragon Maw efficiently. As Dragon Maw uses so much stamina, the "Grit" augment really helped a lot here as the pawn recovers it's breath in only 1 breathe animation cycle instead of 4. As pawns usually opt to use the attacks that spend the least amount of stamina, they will use Dragon Maw less frequently if you have other attacks like Blink Strike or Full Moon Slash equipped. Having really specialized attacks like "Heavenly Slash" and "Steel Will", means that the will almost spam Dragons Maw as it is a much more convenient attack than the other two. The "Rusted Shield" is a nice addition for pawns due to their godly ability to perfect block which will in turn inflict topor onto the enemy, giving the pawn time to either catch its breath with the "Grit", or wail onto the enemy with Dragons Maw. Cymbal Assault and Shield Strike are good for pawns with a Rusted Shield, but they seem to abuse attacks such as "Sheltered Assault" leaving the other equipped skills redundant, which is why I don't equip it. As for "Launchboard" - that proved to be more of a hindrance than anything else when equipped on my pawn.
I am a huge fan of Forced Hatchet for me, but not so much on pawns. I usualy do not equip any shield skills on a pawn. I also love Grit, it is one of my favorite augments, along with Stability. Fighter pawns do realy well with their core skills, so I tend to only give then Antler Toss and nothing else. I am not fond of torpor anymore (used to love it) so no Rust usually on my pawns.
Having only Antler Toss covers your thrust and airborne attack in one move, which is good - especially with the right stat distribution. I like to build my pawns with some sort of unique weapons, whether it be rusted, Force Hatchet, Iraklis etc along with rare moves that you don't see a pawns much and try to get those moves to work with augments/weapons. My Strider (LVL20) pawn is a debilitation strider equipped with gold forged "Aneled Bardiches" (an absolute pain to get as it is an end game weapon) and gold forged "Rusted ShortBow". I also swapped out "Cutting Wind" for "Advanced Trigger" in order to make use of the Aneled innate ability to cover the enemies in oil, making them being set on fire much easier. Have you had any luck getting "Mad Dash" to work on strider pawns?
Watching again... but I still suck perfect blocking. My first run I started as a fighter, because in rpg I always played as knight, you know... the fairytale, after dying miserably once and again I restart the game as strider. Never regretted.
I noticed that too. For me, Dire Onslaught is 4 presses, with a pause between each. First pause activates the downward slam. Second pause because slam takes awhile. And 3rd pause because double-swing takes awhile. I’m trained from Dark Souls 2 to not spam attacks , because of an input queue. So once you press while the first part of the attack is in action, the next attack comes out ASAP. This can be dangerous if you need to make an emergency defensive move. I haven’t played around with the button queue window of Dire Onslaught thoroughly. I just make sure to press when I know I want the next attack in the chain, before losing the combo.
I think this will help me so much. I love Fighter, but I find the only skill that I use is Blink Strike. And the Controlled fall has been hard for me to land. So thanks for this one. I am eager to see them all.
I started a new game with magic arcer. I think magic arcer is very good at killing enemies from far and very easy in killing enemies like phantasm, lich.and all enemies in the form of light
Nice vid dude, always cover many tips that me and I'm sure many others didn't notice. I know most of the time you prefer to play alone but, it would be nice if you can add some recommendations for players like me that wanna try a Fighter main pawn. There are many information on the Internet but, many ones talk too much and never show any proof or skill, that's why I prefer to ask you about it, because you show how the job is done on your videos. Many players associate the fighter pawn with the Tank rol of the party, but after I watch your video about the Stats level, Im not sure if it matters level up all the way like Fighter for the DEF boost. I read a comment that said: 1-100 Fighter and then 101-200 Mage for some MagRes. Others said it's better 101-200 Ranger for the STA boost because almost all the Fighters Pawn need the Dragon Maw on their skillset and it drains a lot of energy. I'm not test this all around just yet but I show you my path: For Augments: Egression. Awareness, Bastion, Proficiency and Tenacity I think are a very good choice if you play tank, I'm not sure about the last one, maybe Clout for some damage. Affinity: Scather/Mitigator/Utilitarian? Skills: Full Moon Slash for some Aoe damage around you, Blitz Strike to gapcloser the enemy and Dragon Maw for the invulnerable frames animation. Heavenward Lash if you fight a lot of Flying enemies. Shield Drum like you said, It doesn't work all the times and some Pawns will spawn this skill, Divine defense and maybe Sheltered Assault. Gear: Hellfire Set + Cursed Light + Dread Aspis (Im not sure about the rings.) That's my idea of a Fighter Pawn, feel free to give me your opinion and correct me if you recommend a better setup! Thanks!
Thanks for always checkin' out the vids Keiz. I do plan on doing something with pawn setups, just still laying it out in my head. For your Fighter, all sounds pretty good, except one big thing. I would replace Scather with Challenger, and then keep Mitigator second and maybe change Utilitarian with Pioneer. Scathers are climbers, like a Strider. Pioneer gives your pawn freedom to leave the party, which means they will stay far from you and far from other pawns. Shield summons may work fair if you have Pioneer as third inclination. Leveling a Fighter... I would vote for a slightly upper hand with Physical defense over Magic defense, and have more Physical damage over magic damage. Stamina is important, and you can always improve Physical defense with Armor, but Magic defense comes from robes, which a Fighter can't wear. So, at the same time, magic defense stat growth is important, and stamina is important. If Cursed Light, I would still say more physical than magic. Probably ratio of 7:3 or 6:3. You will want to have at least 350 core magic attack after LV200. Or opt to have her/him carry Cursed Bite instead. Remember Hard Mode does not apply to pawns, so they receive less damage than you would, and use less stamina than you would. They also have a stamina safety meter, where once they are down 70% stamina, they wont use skills very often, until they replenish. Sheltered assault is great for pawns, Divine gets abused, and they end up using too often on unimportant enemies. Cymbal Onslaught is pretty good, and if they have good beastiary knowledge, they will use it appropriately. I'm not a fan of Blitz strike on pawns, it has the same problem as Ensnare with Striders, where I will be attacking something, and POOF, they get thrown away, and now I have to go to this new location and beat on them some more, and POOF, they get thrown to another location. Full moon is awesome, but I would say you should choose between Full moon and Dragon's maw, as they are both similar, and your pawn will get confused on which to use, and then likely not use either. Heavenly is great for pawns, they use it very well. For Tank, and this is just my opinion, I would set up Nilly with Bastion, Awareness, Tenacity, Clout, Vehemence, and Ferocity. Sword, Full Moon, Heavenly, and empty. Shield, Sheltered Assault, empty, empty. Challenger, Mitigator, Pioneer. I don't think I would bother with leveling her too much, I would probably let her be Fighter for the most part. Ferocity triggers an in game path to use Core attacks more often. So having Ferocity they will use Deflect more often and their core attacks.
No problem, when I wanna know something about DD I always check your videos, other youtubers just keep talking and talking and yeah maybe they know what they're talking about, but they keep repeating themself over and over the same thing. Sometimes I like to watch videos from Wh1sper, it's helpful and he knows the game very well too, but I feel like the guy presume too much on his abilities and gets triggered easily if someone write something bad about his video. I prefer your style, is more relaxing and you didn't need to write that much. I know Pawns use less stamina, mine is very tall she looks like an amazon, but I didn't know about the safety meter. Hard mode doesn't apply for Pawns? That's a good thing to know. I would level her up 10-100 Warrior, less Def but more HP and damage, then 50 levels has Fighter, 50 has Mage and ignore the Ranger path, more Def and MagRes plus the stats from the gear, or just 101-200 fighter and let my gear cover my MagDef. About gear, what rings you recommend for this rol? I always get confused about the Scather and Challenger affinity, that's why my pawn keeps climbing all the time lol. Thanks for the info about the skills, I will test them all!
I usually have a master ring that gives Nilly the 100% sleep resistance. Skill rings for fighter? Hmm, shield slam and sheltered fullisade maybe. Or just Barbed nails is good too.
Yeah, a skill like that would have been nice for Warrior. They had something like that in Dogma Online for Warrior, which was good. But Warrior does have Escape/Exodus Slash
But Warrior does have a perma-Steel Will of sorts. According to the fandom wikia, Warrior has a special ability, that while mid-attack he gets the “unstoppability” bonus of 100% resist to Stagger and Knockdown, including a Dragon’s wind attacks (functionally similar to Stability augment). This is in addition to innate Stagger and Knockdown bonuses Warrior already receives. In other words, with competent play and timing, you can fight as though you have Steel Will on Warrior , constantly. Seems pretty good, now, eh?
I got this game on release cause it looked cool and I made a character lvl 200 for every class after figuring out focusing on them gave you benifits, but once I explored how much items and combinations of skills can change the game SO MUCH, I redound love with it, also coin purse of charity is op as fuck. Also throwblasts 2nd to that. I discovered this in a desperate battle with daimon and got a good hit and it took like a whole bar and I had 16 coin purses and killed him with them.
The 605/606 build would be good for switching between any vocation. High strength, high magic, high stamina. Start as Mage, take Assassin to 87, and then Sorcerer to 200 stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#am000000000003005700000000000064000000
I am already through some other levels but this is not very far from your suggestion. Think it should work stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#am000000000c12003c00000000000064000000
Yep, that would be good for any vocation as well. The Augments and gear are what matter with your attack. Stamina is important. That's why I never understood the people who want to level 190 levels as Sorcerer. After those stats, you have low stamina, and a vocation that uses a lot of stamina for their skills, just doesn't make sense.
Im trying to piece it together but I cant, What armor is that? How do you get it? That looks sick! Ive only pieces together that the mask HAS to be Dragonroar
just the pure strength build leaves you with 258 magic attack. That will hold you back while switching between other vocations, and also provides low defense and low health, which can hold you back while switching between other vocations. Ultimately the stats don't matter that much, most of our numbers come from our gear and augments, but the whole High Strength comes with it's handicaps, and that's why Assassin is called the Glass Cannon. High damage, but can break easily.
Other classes have ranged options, making them more well rounded. But it’s hard to beat a Fighter Pawn. So tanky. So beefy. Plus, if you personally want a challenge, fighter and Warrior classes let you, without feeling the need to hold back.
Hm. I was wondering. I know that this combination is your favourite and all but what if you used armor sets based on the vocation you are showing? Not judging you. Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work.
Yeah, I can see what you are saying. I kinda did that with the 100% runs. And I was planning that with Sorcerer and Warrior and Ranger as well. Don't worry there will be variations later to come. I do really like how this set looks.
Hmmm, it has been awhile since I've done a montage video. That's a good idea. In the meantime, I do have a Fighter library and all vocations libraries. They have restriction runs, and things like that. I will start on some montages once I get back home.
Thanks Dragoth. These Schematics videos are taking alot of effort and editing, so I am happy you noticed. You know exactly what I mean, although it is evident that you take more care and time with your videos than I do. Your individual intros and little slowmo segments are perfect brother. I did play curse o darkness, but it's been over 10 years, I remember enjoying it and playing it multiple times.
thank you for saying that my friend Sometimes i worry that i go too over the top with my editings but i happy you value them :) is always great to know you been watching but you doing great too when you take your time with the vids either your style is always good i love all 3D Castlevanias i am sure you know i am huge CASTLEVANIA freak but i been playing a lot of more classic and retro games Castle Curse of darkness has such great combat and awesome main characters such great underrated game with amazing in-depth Rpg system i thought you will like that game there's a challenge run i created using the Brooch of Bonds which basically allows Hector to stay at level 13 later on the games gets super challenging not to mention if you put the game on Crazy mode Anyway thank you for the video and for showing how awesome and powerful the FIGTHER can truly be
Just curious, does flesh skewer have any use against giant opponents? I know it is invaluable against small opponents, allowing you to lock them down once you draw them out of a bigger crowd. It allowed me to fight mobs that were way beyond my level and equipment.
Despite the fact this is a year or two old, I learned the hard way never go into the Catacombs as a fighter, alone. Fucking mages wreck you that way. Reason I went solo is because I went into the Everfall just fine, but catacombs? Solo? Never again....
I'm curious, what do you mean by "Just don't fall into the Assassin trap." ? You're talking about the Stat points distribution or the gameplay? You know, a Fighter than play like an Assassin, climbing and all that. How do you build this Fighter btw? I watch your 100% Fighter BBI walktrough, Fighter all the way, but without that limitation how you build your Fighter Arisen? If this is all about "Assassin trap" maybe the thing is that you don't recommend leveling up like an Assassin from 10-200. In this video you have amazing damage and still a good chunk of health and Def. Like always, thanks for answer!
The Assassin trap is leveling 190 of Assassin and getting 956 strength, but very low magic and low defenses. This build was 800 strength 400 magic stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#af000000000000005a00010100010a2f002800 This is my favorite build. Pretty good stats all around
*Read comments for clarification since I missed the point Nihil0.0 was making about attack timing* I'm way late but while performing dire onslaught you don't need to hold attack for the down thrust(second attack after hesitating). All you need to do after the 1st input is hesitate then mash light attack. Unless it's so minor it doesn't matter anyway you don't get any kind of a boost for holding during the animation.
@@christophercollins3632 I never even thought about not spamming it for defensive reasons (which is proly why I'm always pausing to heal). I'll have to start doing it your way so I get caught in enemy attacks less.
@@desertxpunk I hope it helps. Having an interval in between gives you time to consider. If Nihil.0 had a suggestion that would help, I bet it would be to use The Force Hatchet. It’ll train you to avoid damage. When there’s something on the line like that, you’ll pay more attention to the incoming attacks from enemies. And delay your attacks in case a block or IFrames attack for emergencies.
For Fighter solo, definiyely get Autonomy from Assassin. Then, clout from Warrior, Awareness from Sorcerer. I say Awareness because Fighter has good physical defense but poor magic defense. Then Vehemence if you want, Poficiency will help, maybe Egression.
@@Nihil0.0 hey man. I just finished my first bitterblack island, but only got one tier3 armor piece. Can you suggest a good way to farm them? Im solo assasin
ummmmm, the best way to farm chests, kill Death, Elder Ogres and Daimon again and again dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/Bitterblack_Armor_Lv.3 ruclips.net/video/TkzKEV4USHA/видео.html
Hey do you think the 4k hp and 4k stat is always a must on fighters? Will I be able to spam dragons maw in that stat build. Or i Should rather focus more on str and defenses? What do you think? Love your vids 😆
Not a must, but we get our attack from weapons, and we get our defense from armor. Not many things give us health and stamina, aside from Savior's rings
ive never noticed the chime for a perfect timed hindsight slash. also ive tried the divine defense vs a fire drakes fire breath attack and it did prevent the burning effect but i still took a good amount of damage from the actual attack. im also curious to see if divine defense can hold up against Grigori's ultimate attack or if its just a scripted instant kill. As always good video.
The Grigori thing may be a scripted one, that would go through anything. I haven't tried Divine on that attack. I recall Divine working solid on Fire Drake. But, I usually get out of that AOE if I can, so I don't have many times using Divine on it.
Nihil0.0 I stood in the aoe for testing purposes is all mainly to see how good divine defense was actually worth using since people seem to avoid that skill since you could perfect block or simply evade. I've done more testing with shield summons and you can cancel the upgraded animation by jumping. Also while testing shield summons it does work on basically almost anything not human or an enraged. However it doesn't hold threat it just draws them towards you and my strider pawn can get off a few hits before the monster notices her. Overall I don't think I'll be using it as much anymore since my current MK playthrough has taught me how to tank more efficiently without the need to spam shield summons thinking I was contributing.
Theres also a glitch with hindsight where you use it and block, you get the I-frames without the added slash meaning you can swap straight to another skill like maw
I must admit, I haven't watched all the fighter videos yet and my question is: is killing the boss in BI workable as fighter? I love ranged but I'm wanting to push myself.
Fighter can handle well enough. Solo, vs Daimon, not so much because Fighter needs to climb Daimon's second form to do ideal damage, but with no aggro Daimon will not allow climbing
@@Nihil0.0 Goog info. I had thought of making my main pawn mage. What would be your choice in this or... I just made another toon... pure assassin. I could really always use that on and off the quench any fighter fix, no?
That is a cool thing with Assassin. We can go with Daggers and dodge roll, or Sword and block, keeping the feel fresh and multiple styles with one vocation. I've never liked Mage pawns, but I am usually not in need of healing or buffs, so I am biased. I like Fighter, Strider and Ranger pawns, but ultimately i don't care for pawns, so.... eh
This build had 4400 stamina, so I can use heavy stamina skills often. Here is that build link- stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#af000000000000005a00010100010a2f002800
Well, I've played about 20 hours of it on xb1. And I think I'm done. Not a fan of the game. It's very Japanese and it treats you like a child learning colors. The combat is nice, but I never feel the connection, the ooompf, the impact. I just can't continue, I have been spoiled by Dogma.
They fixed it. There was a time where your magic stat up to 350-400 did matter for Enchanted weapons, now it does not. I show briefly in this video below - ruclips.net/video/ttpAtgT-Lkk/видео.html&t=
Bandits mask isn't sold by any vendors. You can get it from chests where Bandits hang out. The male bandits camp, but the chest that always spawns one is north of the Hillfigure knoll. 3 chests are there. Also, I have a dark retextures mod enabled, which makes many armor pieces black or darker.
Your warrior kite mobs like an archer or some squishy chracter... feels a little exploiting too... sort of wimpy tank style. Also back stabbing mobs as a warrior... You do show some exceptional knowledge on attack paterns and game knowledge. I like all the other videos you make but the fighter ones... Im not sure u baiting some kind of attack triggered when theres a certain distance between u and the mob or if thats a tick but ... its annoying. Thanks for the videos tho!
This is PC. For fighter pawn, it will depend on what vocation you are, and what style you are. I would say Fighter's Primary should usually be Mitigator. Secondary could be Challenger, or Pioneer, or Guardian. If you are a red vocation, fighter would do well with anything. If you are a Mage, maybe try Guardian. I know Guardian gets a bad rap, but with Mitigator Primary and Guardian secondary, you will see some awesome teamwork. If you are a Sorcerer, then Mitigator, with Challenger or Pioneer. The Pioneer encourages the pawn to have free range of the battle, which moves him far from you, while you are casting.
Just the appeal of high strength, but low health, low magic low defenses. This leads to a limited vocation switch, as you will struggle as a Warrior with low health and low defense, or struggle with Sorcerer and Magic Archer Archer with low magic. The 258 magic and 956 strength leaves you with this, when just a little diversion to get some health and get some magic will help a long way so that other vocations can be viable.
Yeah, any vocation can go through the entirety overall. Fighter will have a many struggles, such as flying enemies, or Ghost enemies but there is only one absolute enemy that Fighter cannot kill and that is UR Dragon. Everything else there is a chance at least. Fighter is not one of the vocations that can easily handle any situation such as Mystic Knight, Strider, Assassin or Magic Archer, but Fighter still stands a chance
I love 100% builds. They all do well, because they have augments that go specifically and the stat growth is what each vocation needs. Though there are some augments that I really really love to have, like Autonomy and Stability or Periphery.
Well, I do have a Dark retexture mod enabled, but Assembled Breeches, Bandages, Bandit's mask, Tattered Mantle, and probably Evening tights. Pelta and Cutlass
This is modded retexture armor. But, it was bandits mask, Bandages, Assembled Breeches, Tattered Mantle, and probably Alchemekal Hosen or Evening tights.
You can go immediately. But, for first time, I would say beat the main story first. Get the gifted weapons after defeating a certain enemy (part of the main questline) and those weapons will help carry you into BBI.
This series is great. I never use fighter except for gaining the augments sinew and vehemence. I may mess around with it in gransys. My pawn will have to be the guinea pig on BBI lol.
Yeah pretty obsessed, anyways that was kind of an uncessesary opening all I really was gonna say is there's this thing I do with sword classes where you can give a short pause after your second swing so you can begin your first swing again and essentially spam those first two normal attacks, I remember deciding to try it because I was trying Alot of fighting games at the time and started getting in the habit of learning the exact moment attack animations finished in more than just fighting games and found that you can pull stuff like this in a lot of games and I kinda don't see people use It in anything but fighting games, probably kind of silly thing to mention but i just thought it'd be interesting to point out (Sorry for the long run on sentence I'm just watching a bunch of your videos before bed and I'm pretty tired so just kinda typing mindlessly like if I was talking)
Man looking at all this it's cool to see someone with similar taste (always thought tenfold blast arrow stuff was really boring and 99% of new players playing dogma do stuff like that)
We kinda have this similar way of playing experimenting with different skills that aren't as popular, and avoiding op gear and things in general
Great vids!
Thank you Thiago. I am also looking forward to Assassin, it may be along video, with 4 weapons and all.
Youre crazy, MK is fucking busted. The only class that has a hard time is warrior.
MYSTIC KNIGHT, DEUS VULT!
My favourite class in the entire game.
Fighter's a solid choice. The first time I played Dogma in 2012 I went full Fighter and ultimately, that lead to my love of the game
i honestly dunno why im watching this video most of my playtime is spent on a fighter guess i might learn something i dont know possibly
Thanks for contributing this. I used it to improve my Fighter gameplay.
Nice. Thanks Jon
This is where the "Grit" augment really shines:
1) Heavenly Slash
2) Steel Will
3) Dragons Maw
(I only equip 2 shield abilities:)
1) Shield Strike
2) Cymbal Assault (only if I equip the pawn with the "Rusted Shield". Otherwise I leave it blank).
Augments
Clout
Vehemence
Grit (very important for Force Hatchet and Dragons Maw)
Proficiency
Ferocity
Tenacity.
(Scather/Mitigator)
This pawn took the most experiment to get something strong at a low level, (the strider being the easiest to create) because I was trying to get the pawn to use Dragon Maw efficiently.
Have you had any luck getting "Mad Dash" to work on strider pawns?
goblins are highly intelligent creature: one go for the take down, another came to stomp. teamwork!
Watching again... but I still suck perfect blocking. My first run I started as a fighter, because in rpg I always played as knight, you know... the fairytale, after dying miserably once and again I restart the game as strider. Never regretted.
These are incredibly informative videos. I can't wait to buy and play the shit out of this tomorrow
Awesome Phil. Enjoy! It's a great game
I didn't know broad slash had i. frames, I think i'll enjoy fighter now
Broad slash is almost always in my skill slot when I equip a sword. It goes great with the light attack and ferocity augment.
You only actually need to press light twice for the three swings during dire onslaught, the first press does the double slash
Most underrated d&d game there is
14:48 Goblin:hardcore parkour hardcore parkour
A well-trained fighter pawn is the best tank.. esp if you go Ranger on your Arisen.
I think this will help me so much. I love Fighter, but I find the only skill that I use is Blink Strike. And the Controlled fall has been hard for me to land. So thanks for this one. I am eager to see them all.
Cool Nolan. I am happy to hear. The other vocations will be on their way. Thanks buddy
If you like blink strike try mystic knight with abyssal anguish. Blitz strike does so many extra hits for massive damage with AA on.
I started a new game with magic arcer. I think magic arcer is very good at killing enemies from far and very easy in killing enemies like phantasm, lich.and all enemies in the form of light
Magic Archer is great at dealing with ghosts, and flying things, and anything really. Probably my second favorite vocation after Strider.
I'm not test this all around just yet but I show you my path:
For Augments: Egression.
Gear: Hellfire Set + Cursed Light + Dread Aspis (Im not sure about the rings.)
That's my idea of a Fighter Pawn, feel free to give me your opinion and correct me if you recommend a better setup!
Nice trick with those eliminators. Just toying with them endlessly.
Thank you buddy. Playing around with Eliminators is fun. They are kinda dumb, as far as AI in the game. Like dumb brutes that are very clumsy.
Steel Will really feels like something that should have gone to Warrior :(
Yeah, a skill like that would have been nice for Warrior.
Yep, those Coin Purses are crazy
Nihil0.0 who would win, a 200 pound blade able to slay demons, monsters, excetera. Or one money boi.
A 20,000 gold Coin Purse will always outdo most weapons
Thank you. Haven't seen many good videos about dragon's dogma =))
Thanks for your words Hp. It's my favorite game
Can't wait for Sorcerer and Mystic Knight.
I wonter if I could make a build so I can play both of them and have success : D
The 605/606 build would be good for switching between any vocation. High strength, high magic, high stamina.
Start as Mage, take Assassin to 87, and then Sorcerer to 200
stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#am000000000003005700000000000064000000
I am already through some other levels but this is not very far from your suggestion. Think it should work
stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#am000000000c12003c00000000000064000000
:)
I need to get the ring for the hind sight slash.
Im trying to piece it together but I cant, What armor is that? How do you get it? That looks sick!
Ive only pieces together that the mask HAS to be Dragonroar
With the skewer attack if a pawn attacks the skewered enemie, its critical damage
Noice as usual ! I don't even wanna know how much thousand hours you have on this game >
A few, been playing since release in 2012 on Xbox, and then PC.
You keep mentioning to "not fall into the assassin trap." What does that mean?
just the pure strength build leaves you with 258 magic attack.
Fighter is like warrior, to be outclassed by everyone else in everything except getting hit and I-frame abuse, until you mod it.
Other classes have ranged options, making them more well rounded. But it’s hard to beat a Fighter Pawn. So tanky. So beefy. Plus, if you personally want a challenge, fighter and Warrior classes let you, without feeling the need to hold back.
Thanks for the tips Bro your Channel is great
Thanks Rafael.
I’m currently playing fighter with my pawn as a sorcerer cause I wanted to always have a pawn to buff me with what I want
Is getting hp back when you kill something an augment or is it from equipment?
There are armors and augments. Here it was the augment Predation, which restores 100hp per kill.
Great Series! Now pls do a stylish Montage Video :D
Hmmm, it has been awhile since I've done a montage video. That's a good idea. In the meantime, I do have a Fighter library and all vocations libraries. They have restriction runs, and things like that. I will start on some montages once I get back home.
You did not mention that the kick in the Skewer ability is actually a guard break. It makes shield bash pointless if you have it as a sword skill.
Hey Nihil do you have a list of the soundtracks you used here?
:)
love the intro brother

Just curious, does flesh skewer have any use against giant opponents?
I know it is invaluable against small opponents, allowing you to lock them down once you draw them out of a bigger crowd. It allowed me to fight mobs that were way beyond my level and equipment.
Despite the fact this is a year or two old, I learned the hard way never go into the Catacombs as a fighter, alone. Fucking mages wreck you that way.
Reason I went solo is because I went into the Everfall just fine, but catacombs? Solo? Never again....
Yeah, the second round of the Catacombs has many Skelesorcs and they love to cast Ingle
This build was 800 strength 400 magic

This is my favorite build. Pretty good stats all around
Magic def. is kinda low isn't it?
Little low yes, but we usually only receive 15 - 20% magic attack damage. Most enemies have physical attacks. Also Armor will give us defense stats.
Great vid! I'm sure others have touched upon this but I think you mean 'Invincibility' not 'Invisibility.'
Oh yes. My grammar and spelling are often off a little. Durf
Nice
*Read comments for clarification since I missed the point Nihil0.0 was making about attack timing*
I'm way late but while performing dire onslaught you don't need to hold attack for the down thrust(second attack after hesitating). All you need to do after the 1st input is hesitate then mash light attack. Unless it's so minor it doesn't matter anyway you don't get any kind of a boost for holding during the animation.
What is the best job and augmentation for soloing in dragon dogma??? I prefer heavy hitting physical damage and high durability character.
For Fighter solo, definiyely get Autonomy from Assassin. Then, clout from Warrior, Awareness from Sorcerer. I say Awareness because Fighter has good physical defense but poor magic defense. Then Vehemence if you want, Poficiency will help, maybe Egression.
Very Good
Thank you Rodolfo.

So what armor class do recommend to use as fighter heavy, balance or light?
ive never noticed the chime for a perfect timed hindsight slash. also ive tried the divine defense vs a fire drakes fire breath attack and it did prevent the burning effect but i still took a good amount of damage from the actual attack. im also curious to see if divine defense can hold up against Grigori's ultimate attack or if its just a scripted instant kill.
Theres also a glitch with hindsight where you use it and block, you get the I-frames without the added slash meaning you can swap straight to another skill like maw
so many nice and cool skills...(dragons dogma creators) : sorry but you can only use max 6 active skills. bye

I like Fighter, Strider and Ranger pawns, but ultimately i don't care for pawns, so.... eh
12:02 How did you make Legion's Bite use so little stamina?
This build had 4400 stamina, so I can use heavy stamina skills often. Here is that build link-

What do you mean by assassin trap?
Hey Nihil, are you planning on playing Monster Hunter World?
Well, I've played about 20 hours of it on xb1. And I think I'm done. Not a fan of the game. It's very Japanese and it treats you like a child learning colors. The combat is nice, but I never feel the connection, the ooompf, the impact.
I just can't continue, I have been spoiled by Dogma.
What do you mean when you say "Just don't fall into the Assassin trap"?
I'm still fairly new to the game.
They fixed it. There was a time where your magic stat up to 350-400 did matter for Enchanted weapons, now it does not. I show briefly in this video below -

Wow! Great job Nihil. I did not know some that. I guess i play strider too much. lol
Thanks Xizoo. Strider is a hard one to walk away from.
No such thing as too much Strider
hey man, what is that armor set you are always using, it looks dope!
Well, they are dark retextured on pc, but bandages, ebon neck wrap or tattered mantle, assembled breeches, and bandit's mask.

ruclips.net/video/IOuvq-VlhIY/видео.html
where do u always buy that masks from? Sorry for that stupid question but i could nowhere find them...
Thank you ^^ need to search for them right now xD
Hey nihil, what fo you think is better to have as a main pawn, Warrior or fighter???
Fighter. Perfect Block is very beneficial, and the attacks are stronger and more reliable. Warrior is random and often weak as a pawn
@@Nihil0.0 Thx

I think its calles Invincibility not invisibility frames
Usually I spell it as Invincibility, but sometimes I do get dislexic. Or clumsy fingers too
Your warrior kite mobs like an archer or some squishy chracter... feels a little exploiting too... sort of wimpy tank style.
What's the Assassin trap?
What should a fighter pawn inclination be? And what system you play?
Nihil0.0 thanks so much
just spam dragons maw
What is rhe assasins trap? That vocation no improve their streangth?
Just the appeal of high strength, but low health, low magic low defenses. This leads to a limited vocation switch, as you will struggle as a Warrior with low health and low defense, or struggle with Sorcerer and Magic Archer Archer with low magic. The 258 magic and 956 strength leaves you with this, when just a little diversion to get some health and get some magic will help a long way so that other vocations can be viable.
@@Nihil0.0 thanks for the answer
Bro where i can find or buy this sword?
Cutlass. You get it if you fight Julien during Mercedes quest. Caxton sells it after the Griffin.
Anyone on Xbox?
360
I know I'm hella late but fighter can be viable for late game play right???
Yeah, any vocation can go through the entirety overall. Fighter will have a many struggles, such as flying enemies, or Ghost enemies but there is only one absolute enemy that Fighter cannot kill and that is UR Dragon. Everything else there is a chance at least. Fighter is not one of the vocations that can easily handle any situation such as Mystic Knight, Strider, Assassin or Magic Archer, but Fighter still stands a chance
@@Nihil0.0 yeah im doing a challenge run.
Hard mode
All quests including nb quests and I have to play fighter only so no ranger or warrior buffs
I love 100% builds. They all do well, because they have augments that go specifically and the stat growth is what each vocation needs. Though there are some augments that I really really love to have, like Autonomy and Stability or Periphery.
@@Nihil0.0 I just got one shot by a rat.... Yeaaahh
Those dirty rats

Predation augment regains 100hp per kill

They're not gonna look like this, unless you are on pc and have them retextured. The Tattered Mantle is actually red

Nihil0.0 wow that’s cool lucky man
Armor ?
Dark retextures modded, but Assembled Breeches, Bandages, Bandit's mask Tattered Mantle
hi how do you do that running hit?
Blink Strike. It's a sword skill. Fighter has it at the beginning. Hold right bumber and hit light attack button (x on xbox)
Nihil0.0 i have burst strike does it still work?
Yep. Burst strike is just the upgraded version.
Nihil0.0 around what level do you have to be to go to the dlc area?
You can go immediately. But, for first time, I would say beat the main story first. Get the gifted weapons after defeating a certain enemy (part of the main questline) and those weapons will help carry you into BBI.
O fighter é muito repetitivo. Joguei com ele até level 20 e troquei logo
