Warrior is actually my favorite/main Vocation in Dogma. It's so much fun, and I'm always glad when people actually pay it it's dues. Another great guide. Can't wait to see the rest. Subbed.
Thank you kindly! I'm glad you enjoy the vocation, there's a lot to love about it! I'll do my best to get the other guides out as seamlessly as possible!
Corona slash is actually the warrior's best option for knockdown. Using jump lights to stagger or a pommel bash to break guard followed by corona to knock down. Helps the warrior fulfill it's role as the stagger/knockdown class since it has low damage output
Same. My basic loadout would often be Pommel bash, corona slash, and exodus slash for s. Ferocity, vehemence, clout, and eminence for those jumping mixups. Effective, if a touch boring.
Idk if I downloaded a mod that changed the balance, or if the swordsman armor from the berserk tie in is broken, but my warrior takes everything down with the indomitable slash
@@MemeLordCthulhu yeah, I suspect that most people who are complaining are playing on hard mode, which makes knockdowns so much harder. I usually stay on normal with warrior, which allows me to bully everything.
Tbh I can kinda agree with the low damage output. My warrior build uses endgame gear and does pathetic damage when compared to magic archer or mystic knight.
Yea it was intentional, they took inspiration directly from berserk. But because of licensing issues they had to remove all the armour and weapons from the manga/show
After playing around with all the vocations I gotta say WARRIOR is my favourite non-hybrid vocation. Exodus Slash is crazy good and covers all your defensive needs. Then you have the Indomitable Lash that charges much faster than Deathly Arrow or spells, while dealing more damage per second and per hit. I'm not even sure what I like most for the third skill, because it doesn't matter thanks to the crazy good core moveset of greatswords and greathammers. It has great strong attacks, great jumping attacks, great light attacks. The follow up moves to exodus slash are great. Despite having less skill slots I feel like the variety of things I can do is greater. This class is a joy to play.
I'd put corona slash over indomitable lunge. You're counting on the enemy to stay put while you prepare to charge and you need to aim it perfectly. CS is an immediate action and you know where everyone is when you do it.
This vocation is amazing. I still can’t understand though why it can’t have 6 skill slots… Seriously though, if the mages staff can have 6 Why not the great sword?

Came back here now that the DD2 gameplay has been revealed. Very nice video, as a long, LONG time warrior main I approve! There are some things I want to note about warriors that I think some may overlook. First is how staggers work against bosses: there are staggers and knockdowns respectively (as shown on your stats page with stagger and knockdown power as two separate stats). When a boss or larger enemy is staggered, they become weaker to all forms of damage, and it becomes easier to knock them down as well. When I say that they are weaker when staggered, I mean it! Think of it like instability frames from dark souls. A good example of this is when a drake is staggered, following up quickly with a hit to their heart guarantees a knockdown! Not only that, but that attack during the stagger will usually deal significantly more damage, I think around double! In this regard, pommel bash is an exceptional skill for warrior. Pommel bash does insane stagger damage, allowing you to stagger bosses to oblivion (pommel bash a drake's head, trust me). Another application of pommel bash is against garm: pommel their head one measly time for a stagger, them grappel their head super easy; hitting their head with grappel attacks causes more staggers, stunlocking them to death. Second is a weapon many forget about due to its low damage: the stamina hammer. This weapon is amazing for a warrior main pawn. It causes them to draw unnaturally high amounts of aggro from all enemies, allowing all others in the party free reign to hit monsters. Combine the stamina hammer on your pawn with the utilitarian inclination and slot on war cry, pommel bash, the impact augment, and double barbed nails for an absolute machine of a support tank! Remember what I said earlier about stagger power being its own stat? Double barbed nails means that this pawn will just run up and stagger bosses with ease. Even if they don't stagger, they still will take all of the damage for you thanks to stamina hammer and war cry stacking on pulling enemies' attention.
This is fucking INCREDIBLE insight holy shit, thank you so much for sharing! Here's hoping plenty of folks see this because it's very valuable information (worded in a way that's easy to digest, I might add) I always suspected that people were really selling Warrior short when claiming it was worse than other vocations and this only makes me believe it wholeheartedly. This shows how Warrior can honestly be an AMAZING addition to the team.
Just bought the game cause of shadiversity’s video on it, couldn’t find any helpful info that didn’t say “Do what’s fun” or read through 82 pages of min/max stat charts. You’re the first video that actually explains shit in a helpful yet understandable way. That has earned you a subscription. Gonna check out any other of your guides on this game, if you haven’t covered it already, perhaps mystic knight next? Also a guide on crafting/gear/upgrading/etc. would be very helpful. Looking forward to more of these guides.
I'm really glad you found this helpful! Since I already have an order going, next will be Ranger then Sorcerer, but after that will be Mystic Knight! I'll certainly consider a guide on gear although that's a bit more nebulous and at a certain point can basically be put down to sheer preference since while you can absolutely min/max or utilize various unique boosts and boons, I wouldn't say it's imperative once you know the game and wearing whatever you feel like is just as valid at higher levels since your base power goes through the roof, same applies to weapons tbh. Also, big confession time, despite literally thousands of hours put into it, I've never crafted once in this game lmao.
Loving the content man, i just got the game. abt 30 hours in and absolutely loving it! (coming from a Souls/MH background) Cant wait to see more guides and more content on this game!

I love the feeling that he gives to fight against a cursed dragon, ogres, destroyers and stay on his feet no matter how many blows he gets. I love breaking through weak spots with the strength of a warhammer. I love the feeling of raw power and the sound of impending destruction of an Act of Deliberation. I don't care about DPS, I just want to feel like I can charge headfirst into a boss with the confidence that I'm a bulwark with a ten kilogram hammer and bonk through it

Seems I had a bit of an audio goof at the start here, first music track seems a decent bit louder than I realized, sorry about that! I'm noticing I'm also quieter in general here and in the last guide for some reason, gonna look into resolving that. This one was even more of a nightmare to get rendered than the last, might need to look at a new program here. That said I'm glad I managed to get this out as swiftly as I did, would have managed sooner but ended up busy with other things over the course of the week. Hoping I can keep knuckling down like this, but be aware Ranger may take me a little longer than this did! Thank you all so much for your patience and your support!
im palying for first time and i have 50hrs on warrior and i feel strong as fuck, i didnt even think people thought of warrior as bad vocation. but that makes me wanna try other ones. great video thanks
Just found your channel and after watching your 4 most recent videos I immediately subscribed. I'm a big fan of dragons dogma and there isnt much content out there for it. Your vids are great! Can't wait for the ranger and assassin videos.
I see the warrior as more of a training class. If you can make it work effectively, you will absolutely wreck face with any other melee class. That's not to say warrior is bad, just that it has the most weaknesses to overcome. Once you do that, you will find yourself an absolute beast. For one thing, warrior gets the best physical stat balance when gaining levels. Defense is a bit lower than a fighter, but much better than any of the dagger classes. HP gain is extremely high (highest in the game until you hit level 100, then it becomes one of the lowest... wtf?). Strength is second only to the assassin, and only barely at that (but again, you have actual defenses to back it up). So, what I do is play warrior first if I plan to be a physical focused class. Get all those juicy stats from leveling up, until I get that STR augment (at max vocation rank). It usually takes till about level 30-40, which really isn't all that long in the grand scheme of the game. Then, switch to whatever I really want to play and make mincemeat out of everything. An assassin or ranger with warrior levels under its belt will live so much longer... No, I am not good enough at the game to just "not get hit", so I like being able to survive a couple hits. Minmaxing is for pros, of whit I am not. Of course, you can just stay as a warrior. Their ability to knock down even the biggest foes is more than satisfying. In that regard, jumping light attack is an amazing tool. It's one of your quicker attacks, and still hits decently hard. The big selling point on that is its insane stagger potential. Even at low levels, you can just jump-light attack spam to keep ogres and cyclopses off balance, or on their backs for long periods of time. Just gotta learn to reliably hit those weak spots (hint: its always the head).
I agree with you but I see the warrior as more than just a training class. It's also kind of challenging by not giving you all the tools to take down your enemies, making you think. For example, if you have a bow, dragons and griffins won't give you any trouble and that's sometimes boring. The warrior is ironically the simplest vocation and the one that makes you think the most. That makes her fascinating to me and my favorite along with Mistyc Knight
Just started playing this game and was having fun as a warrior, restarted my game and started as a strider , got my arse kicked by some wolves , I’m going back to warrior
What I hate about warrior the most as a warrior main is how limiting it is. Strider, ranger and magick archer get dodge rolls and double jumps. Mage and sorcerer get their glides. Fighter gets blocking. Assassin gets dodge rolls, double jumps and blocking. Mystic Knight get blocking and gliding. Warrior just gets a single i-frame skill that's not even too good and only gets 3 skills on top of that. I love warrior so much but seeing other vocations just hurt me and tempt me to play them at times.
Honestly, probably the single most valid complaint I've seen about the vocation. Warrior is fantastic, but everyone is so dripped out in terms of what they can do, especially in terms of mobility options, that it can be difficult not to envy that.
A focus on stagger, knockdown, attack start/end lag. There's hyper armor on some specials. Reset is an animation cancel. Pommel is a hit confirm. Capcom should make fighting games or something.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it and I know this is like a year old but on certain moves such as Exodus Slash you and jump cancel out and combo off of the second hit which is a short ranged launcher into something else normally I use Pommel Bash, Exodus Slash and Arc of Obliteration (Arc of Deliverance with one of the ring’s enhancements from Bitterblack Isle) as a combo of sorts sometimes indomitable Lunge instead of the Arc….Yes I do play Fighting games and I know some cancels with Fighter class as well. 😂😂😂
Still feel like warrior’s war cry could be replaced with an effect that manually buffs your strength. The vocation DESPERATELY needed its own magic rebalencer in order to be more overall useful.
can't wait to see the warrior at its fullest potential in DD2. Used a VPN to play DDON when the servers existed and loved the changes they made there, but MMOs aren't my thing and I'd much prefer the experience of a focused singleplayer oriented experience.
If DD2 adds dismemberement, warrior should be the ones carrying it. I want to be able to cut a whole cyclops leg so the bastard cannot stomp on things anymore
@@ThiefofCrystals my personal preference is mystic knight or magical archer, i need some magic in my gane play. Thunder/Fame riposte etc just feels so satisfying. Looking forward to those vocation videos as well
I'm doing warrior just now to dragon forge my warrior pawns gear. I am personally struggling with it but, my pawn is an absolute unit!!! Pretty much nothing knocks him off his feet. Oooooo ranger!!!!! That's what I generally am!!! But, Magic Archer is quickly becoming my new fav!
No Ferocity mention? Ferocity can be a good augment for several vocations. Holy Focused Bolt is a top damage dealer for Mages (and even Sorcerers). It's the go-to option for taking out Cursed Dragons. It's also useful for elemental weapons and hybrid classes since it boosts both Str and Mag. It even boosts magick shields perfect block damage.
You're right, I probably should have mentioned Ferocity since it's fairly useful. I was aware Holy Focus Bolt was powerful and mentioned as much, but as I almost never play a caster I wasn't fully aware of its impact. Stuff like this is why I made that disclaimer at the start of the first guide. So far I haven't gotten too much wrong so I'm glad for that at least.
Yeah, people say you don't "need" 6 abilities, sure you don't "need" 6 abilities but it's fun when you can mix things up when warriors have so many cool skills!
I really appreciate that! I'm so sorry but I have a set order in mind, Ranger's well underway and Sorcerer is set to follow, but immediately after that will be Mystic Knight! I'll work as hard as I can to get it and the others done so you and anyone else can benefit from them as soon as possible!
Hey guys im playing on the pc but it seems like i cant perform the core skills thats i purchased for the warrior i did try to hold the heavy attack it didnt work and i tried to tap light attack *pause then rapidly hit light attack but nothing happens its just the standard attack before purchasing these core skills can anyone help?
corona slash suck in basic game , but if you got lucky on the bbi , you may get a ex ring , then corona slash will turn into one of the best skill in game , because ex version get a slash wind of some shit can easily take down a flying dragon 😢
Outside of magic vocations, vocations only have 3 skills per primary and secondary weapon! So it does seem disingenuous to say fighter, strider etc have six skills when they only have six skills because they have a primary and secondary weapon! Warrior had three skills only because only primary weapon!
Yes but it still detracts from versatility which is all I was saying with that, I wasn't being disingenuous at all I was just stating facts. They have less skills at their disposal, the fact that it's due to their single weapon is sort of obvious and doesn't really change anything.
Warriors slow....? Noooooooo They are aerial top gun Lucha Libre in disguise, they jump ALOT and bonks from above, until their foes go down and finish it with a bigger bonker
You know when I first started playing the game I was like they made melee so realistic this is how you would use a big weapon.. I was sure they would have whirlwind where you just spin around in circle yet was like that wouldn’t be realistic.. then I played strider and skull splitter… I’m like okay.. everything was realistic until that skill came into play.. so why the hell not give the big great sword the classic whirlwind spin to win ability and just have it drain stamina during the duration.. and yes… spam pummel is so fun on warrior 😂not…
I tried to play as a warrior and it was so damn boring. I played for maybe 10 hours and couldn't continue. i switched over to mystic knight and loved it
I'm a weird guy. I don't care for magic, but I love to fight against it. I'm just a human fighting against something far more powerful than me. David and Goliath style 😎

I initially made the mistake of thinking corona slash had I-frames because of it's similar appearance to certain fighter skills.
@@ThiefofCrystals Praying the sequel makes them batter.
This is spot on.
A focus on stagger, knockdown, attack start/end lag. There's hyper armor on some specials. Reset is an animation cancel. Pommel is a hit confirm. Capcom should make fighting games or something.
That would be kinda wild...
(Unironically hyped for SF6, hope to have a great time and improve as much as I can)
Not sure if anyone mentioned it and I know this is like a year old but on certain moves such as Exodus Slash you and jump cancel out and combo off of the second hit which is a short ranged launcher into something else normally I use Pommel Bash, Exodus Slash and Arc of Obliteration (Arc of Deliverance with one of the ring’s enhancements from Bitterblack Isle) as a combo of sorts sometimes indomitable Lunge instead of the Arc….Yes I do play Fighting games and I know some cancels with Fighter class as well. 😂😂😂
Thank you! Awesome guide
You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed!

Me: Looks at guide
Him: *proceeds to diss corona slash because of letter u type underswing*
Me:.....
And i Took that personally.
I'm waiting for Warrior + sorcerer vocation imagine how powerful it will be
Corona slash can knock down eliminators and cyclops
Think it can stagger dragons too
Love the videos man
Much appreciated friend!
Good video, personally could never get arround to play warrior because of themore slow response this vocation has compared to something like strider
That's entirely fair! It can be hard to go back once you've had a taste of vocations like Strider lol
@@ThiefofCrystals my personal preference is mystic knight or magical archer, i need some magic in my gane play. Thunder/Fame riposte etc just feels so satisfying.
Looking forward to those vocation videos as well
When you choose warrior it's Unga bunga time!
We do love the unga
Chad Vocation
I'm doing warrior just now to dragon forge my warrior pawns gear. I am personally struggling with it but, my pawn is an absolute unit!!! Pretty much nothing knocks him off his feet. Oooooo ranger!!!!! That's what I generally am!!! But, Magic Archer is quickly becoming my new fav!
Great video for a fantastic game, what sword are you using for Warrior?
If you could use six abilities with it it’d be tied with MK for favorite class of mine.
Yeah, people say you don't "need" 6 abilities, sure you don't "need" 6 abilities but it's fun when you can mix things up when warriors have so many cool skills!
The Pokemon battle music 🤣
Basically a monster hunter's greatsword main
Where's the music that played during Ranger highlights from? Also, sick guides! As a newcomer to DDDA, I'm loving these!
Thx for the guides, guess I found my class ;)
WTF, making DD content in 2022. Are you insane ? Thank you !
I'm the guy who did a fists only/hard mode/no pawns/fresh playthrough run, so yeah probably lmao
Hey dawg I loved the last 2 guides think you could do mystic knight next? I’d like to try it but idek where to start
I really appreciate that! I'm so sorry but I have a set order in mind, Ranger's well underway and Sorcerer is set to follow, but immediately after that will be Mystic Knight! I'll work as hard as I can to get it and the others done so you and anyone else can benefit from them as soon as possible!
@@ThiefofCrystals poggers
corona slash with skill ring = 3 garms stuck sleeping on the floor =D
Plz help my warrior is so weak takes like 15 quick slashes to kill a zombie/ bandit????? I don’t get it
what is that sword that tou are using cause its looking so cool
The sword is called 'Dwells-In-Light' and can be obtained as a random drop from the Ur-Dragon!
How do you use ACT of revengence in his full potential ? I Always get staggers and knockdown by boss. (Chimera, Drake, Griffin etc...)
Hey guys im playing on the pc but it seems like i cant perform the core skills thats i purchased for the warrior i did try to hold the heavy attack it didnt work and i tried to tap light attack *pause then rapidly hit light attack but nothing happens its just the standard attack before purchasing these core skills can anyone help?
what is the name of that sword and where can i get it
Love Ur work
Thanks bud
Im looking for a non magic vocation to play. Sadly my last two characters defaulted back into Magick Archers 😅
Meanwhile i'm trying to play magic vocations and always defaulting to melee 😅
9:47 MAN, I CRACKED UP KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Good stuff mate :D
What's the sword?
"Dwells-In-Light"
How do you get such giant gold drops from enemies?
corona slash suck in basic game , but if you got lucky on the bbi , you may get a ex ring , then corona slash will turn into one of the best skill in game , because ex version get a slash wind of some shit can easily take down a flying dragon 😢
Great video. Pro tip: lantern 🏮
What about the war hammer?
Where do you get that sword
Ur-Dragon loot baybeeee
I'm new to the game where can I find a good great sword
Outside of magic vocations, vocations only have 3 skills per primary and secondary weapon! So it does seem disingenuous to say fighter, strider etc have six skills when they only have six skills because they have a primary and secondary weapon! Warrior had three skills only because only primary weapon!
Yes but it still detracts from versatility which is all I was saying with that, I wasn't being disingenuous at all I was just stating facts. They have less skills at their disposal, the fact that it's due to their single weapon is sort of obvious and doesn't really change anything.
@@ThiefofCrystals no not you being disingenuous, I read referring to everything else who uses warrior slander out of malice!
@@DANCERcow Ah I see, in that case apologies for misunderstanding
@@ThiefofCrystals no apologies please, you are good!
Warriors slow....? Noooooooo
They are aerial top gun Lucha Libre in disguise, they jump ALOT and bonks from above, until their foes go down and finish it with a bigger bonker
You know when I first started playing the game I was like they made melee so realistic this is how you would use a big weapon.. I was sure they would have whirlwind where you just spin around in circle yet was like that wouldn’t be realistic.. then I played strider and skull splitter… I’m like okay.. everything was realistic until that skill came into play.. so why the hell not give the big great sword the classic whirlwind spin to win ability and just have it drain stamina during the duration.. and yes… spam pummel is so fun on warrior 😂not…
How to you get the class?
Once you reach Gran Soren, head to the inn. Speak with innkeeper Asalam, he will allow you to change vocations and Warrior will be one of the options.
@@ThiefofCrystals okay I found a hammer too
I tried to play as a warrior and it was so damn boring. I played for maybe 10 hours and couldn't continue.
i switched over to mystic knight and loved it
"Once your attack animation starts you're practically immune to stagger and knock-"
Average Soul's Guts cosplayer: "It's called Hyper Armor, noob."
I'm a weird guy. I don't care for magic, but I love to fight against it. I'm just a human fighting against something far more powerful than me. David and Goliath style 😎
