This video is not a critique or review, it is my experience with dragons dogma 2. the intro is purely there to explain why I stopped playing the game. I didn't see a need for there to be micro transactions, these are all my reasons for why I stopped playing originally. The last thing I wanted was for someone to feel I am expressing my opinions in bad faith.

The game just needs a dlc at this point. Their twitter account keeps deleting posts that were clearly teases for a dlc and they've said nothing since. Hopefully next year they do something with this game because it's sat gathering dust in my library atm
@@OsakaWagyu But that's just the thing, people should care, even Capcom should care. Monster Hunter will always receive the utmost attention because it's the golden child, it's a guaranteed GOTY contender because it's just too big to fail. Dragon's Dogma took a decade-long hiatus & the amount of effort poured into it is sorely lacking. This genuine attempt at a D&D-style RPG deserves more than some half-baked patches & nonexistent media coverage. The community manager should be transparent, especially since Itsuno walked out on them. We need a higher quality storyline with consequences that impact both kingdoms, a more dangerous world filled with more monsters than what they have on offer & an experience that feels homely. I always go back to Skyrim when it comes to the last point. Breezehome has more player utilities than anything offered in any of the four houses. The relationships in Skyrim also have a higher degree of utility, given that you get cooked food, extra Septims & a secondhand store out of marriage. All you ever see are a couple cutscenes, the occasional gift & annoying escort missions. The replayability of DD2 questionable when compared to its predecessor.

It got me too, I really grew such an attachment to my Pawn throughout the course of the game. I based her off one of my fav Japanese singers too, so it made it hit harder. 😅🖤
I was truly freaking out on my first playthrough (way back in March/April) because my pawn turned into the thing and back into human form at the ending. I found out later it's if we have max affinity with pawn so that was a surprise. I did go to hot springs and bought the pawns drinks at the pub a lot though. :)

@@neveser Agreed. Dragon's Dogma is literally a game where you have to be patient, strap in, and immerse yourself. You can't expect immediate gratification, it takes it time with everything and you have to find everything. From how to skills work and interact with things to all the game's mechanics, you need to be super attentive. But once you've leveled up your patience and insight, it honestly opens your mind to a lot of other games you probably wouldn't have considered.
I love that you talked to your pawn.. this was an amazing watch, originally i didnt want to but you got my sub man. keep up the good work, it would be cool to see you plat the game in a new playthrough with Leo carrying you through the new game like a NEW GAME+ scenario
Dragon's Dogma 2 isn't perfect, but it still remained my favorite game of 2024, that said I am biased as I adored DD1 since the demo on the 360 back in 2011, but I can only hope to get a banger DLC to this game in 2025, so that you and Leo can arise again!
It is perfect. Alot of people forget it's a Capcom game. Masters at Arcade games. DD2 is a perfect arcade style combat rpg. It is literally mainly about combat. Just like the first game. Story is filler and side quests are filler. It is what it is supposed to be. Also. More than half the critics didn't even play DDDA or anything. I look at the Xbox reviewers profile and they full of shit. Maybe 7% achievements and progress for the first game and maybe 10% for DD2. 😅
I’m on my second playthrough right now and omg this video was fucking beautiful… I’m also going through the game with only my pawn and me and after seeing that final cutscene for the first time I wanna get max affinity with them and kick some ass as you and Leo did, thank you for making such an incredible video on a sleeper game like dogma and can’t wait to see more banger content in the future😔👌
I think DD2 was really perfect on it's release and timing... It really reflected the world around, and the people of today, just pawns in the grand scheme of things. It's a meta narrative of reality. Only a few people will realize and break free of the meta narrative and actually live.... When you finish the game, the question is do you continue to be a pawn or do you decide to live your life on your own terms... Most people don't like the story because they don't really understand what the game was trying to teach them.
The perpetual cycle is an amazing lesson. I loved dragons dogma 1 and the reveal ending of dragons dogma 2 ending is insanely understandable and explains my questions from the first game.
This game is my GOTY or probably game of my Life. Bought it on Day 1 and I have been playing it for over 600 hours (and haven't reached the True Ending yet cause I want to stay with my beloved pawn as long as I can XD). It is not perfect but I embraced its imperfection. It brings me so much fun and inspiration. I just couldn't thank Capcom enough for bringing this wonderful game to me.
Me and my bro got the seamless co-op mod for elden ring after not playing for two years and holy shit. I forgot how good it is, we have been having a blast with the game.
What people fail to note about the Mtx is that this is how capcom has been doing their mtx's for every game since the first Dragon's dogma! The items were easy to get in game and they didn't try to exploit people's time like Ubisoft did with odyssey. I'm not trying to defend the mtx's but it's like many of us ignored the mtx's like in previous Capcom games but for some reason Dragons dogma2 was the one to get people into an unnecessary uproar, probably because it was priced higher and when reviewers didn't mention it people thought they were being shady about it when in reality they probably went "oh they've got some pointless, inconsequential mtx thing like in their other games, yeah anyways" *skips*
I remember DMC 5 also getting the same flak when they were selling orbs as MTX. The performance problems on launch as well as that combined, it was a pretty big red flag that people rightfully heeded. That being said, having played DD2 recently, it's definitely an amazing experience, with some key improvements to DD:DA but in my opinion, there weren't enough improvements overall. It felt more or less the same as the first game, which is both good and bad considering it was one of the most anticipated sequels for a major cult classic Also they took out mystic knight, 0/10 dogshit game
I jumped back to DD2 after your video. And I have so much fun right now. There are some issues here and there, but the casual mode with no dragonsplague consequences and ferrystones being only 1k gold made everything so much more enjoyable. At this point I genuinely hope for a DLC.
Dullahans are rare before a certain event I will not spoil. One spawns for a quest but all the others do not have hard locked spawn locations. Missing the Sphinx is a sin tho.
Recently bought the game at a discount on ps5 and been really enjoying it. This is my first dragon's dogma game. There are a lot things this game does right that I always felt were missing from other rpgs. There are some annoying things but it didn't take away from my overall experience. As I'm only able to play like 2 hrs a day I didn't much care about the story. The exploration is the highlight in this game though I wish the position of enemies were a bit randomised. Its always the same enemies at the same spot. Great game overall imo
I love this game so much, played it literally the second it dropped after preordering and after 500 hours I’ve completed it 10 times and got the platinum, I understand why people didn’t like it but I stuck with it even when I had people telling me I should drop it, definitely my favourite game I’ve ever played and I will continue to play it even when other games try to tempt me Edit: the peaceful solution to get the queen to agree with sven was to carry her to his room, I think he also needed to have bought the green box but I’m not sure, he’s always had it when I’ve done it 😅
i remember seeing some vids criticizing how amazing it was but felt ruined by clunkyness. great to know that they got to polish it quite a bit. amazing storytelling btw. 10/10 will wishlist the game thank to you
Loved this game. I really did not play it right however. Im like level 60 and have done three of the main quests. Its just so much fun running around fighting monsters i get distracted.
Now you should try the game with Mods. That basically create a HARD MODE!! Randomizes enemy placement, raises enemy HP and def and power! You have umoored enemies roaming the regular world, including the bosses!
Underrated like the first one, favorite game of all time for me, never gotten so lost in the exploration aspect of a game before, definitely needs the dark arisen treatment.
Waiting for Dark Arisen 2 to come out. Back when original Dragon's Dogma released, it was very messy and they mostly fixed it with Dark Arisen. Quietly hoping for them to do it again, but we'll see.
I’d say it’s almost the opposite. First game launched with fairly small buzz, only to earn a cult following over the years with help from the DLC and being on sale a lot. DD2 launched with lots of hype, sold quite well upfront, then cratered in popularity a couple weeks later, with it being almost totally ignored by Capcom.
Glad it seems like people are their time with their game now that it runs acceptably. The game has plenty of issues, but I came out of my playthrough still leaning positive. With how it apparently sold a bunch, I'm hoping they eventually drop an expansion similar to Dark Arisen to address criticisms people had in comparison to the previous game.
I played the game on all systems even my series S and I didn't have any issues but small stuttering here and there back when it came out. Glad I didn't have the issues folks seemed to
My first play through as a complete noob to the franchise I ran fighter with an archer pawn, didn't hire any new pawns, and didn't swap vocations until easily level 50+. Just didn't understand the game I guess. I learned a LOT about crafting healing items tho, and getting those camping buffs with food. One of the male voices for the pawns is the same guy who does Markus Kruber from Vermintide. So both of us were designed to look like Kruber. They don't have his fancy mustache tho, sad. It was also real challenging in some caves where you face a bunch of slime monsters. Both of us had normal physical damage weapons so we failed horribly and ran away. After that I was resolved to carry around a stack of bomb arrows, and give them to my bro one at a time to take out slime. After I got the ice enchanted sword it was less of a worry.
on my 1st playthrough I deleted the last boss as a mystic archer in 0.5 seconds with it's ultimate ability to sacrifice ur health into a shot :D and moreover that, for some reason the drake stole the blacksmith's wife ( those who gives u a mystic archer class )LOL
Micro transactions were not excessive and wholly unnecessary for the player. You're wrong there. You seem like someone thats new to the franchise. As such, anyone watching this needs to take your opinion with a grain of salt.
The mtx fake outrage actually still annoys me. I really dare people to tell me what I can and can't spend my money on. I bought the deluxe edition. Let's call it a "noob explorer pack" that did cost a little more. Sometimes I do that in other games too. If they hadn't sold these individually then guess what- people would have complained!
Band wagon RUclipsr the micro transactions were so optional it was laughable mind u it was zero pay to win aspects in the shop additionally there were no in game items meaning it was not exclusive to people who like to throw their wallets at a game so… i don’t understand the hate tbh or the $tupid!+y
As soon people see any mtx included in a game they think it's there for a reason and that's usually the case. It also removes immersion and is there as a constant reminder that you can buy your way out of scenarios in the game. If it wasn't needed, it shouldn't have been included.
@ ok so when u go to restaurant do you order the whole menu? Do you stick to the budget items or the premium items? Do u get desert? Why any of it? Why not just bread and water that’s all u need. Right? Why fly when u have a car or bus fare? Just because it’s not necessary doesn’t mean it shouldn’t exist. Your a human with a brain you reserve the right to use your money how you please no one is forcing you. You have the luxury of choice and yet u all behave as if being held at gun point. It’s remarkable in the worse way possible
@@bubbapowers when I pay for a meal I expect to be the whole meal to be there and not get nickel and dimed for every ingredient whilst also keeping some hidden. Worst case scenario, you shit in the meal and promise to clean it up later
Making me want to play again, I never got to experience anything with the living statue thing cause I had no idea where it would spawn and the NPCs killed it without me being there. Supposedly a village was going to get destroyed if I didn't stop it. But the NPCs had it under control and I found it lying in that volcanic canyon area where a drake was just in pieces. So that was a shame, it literally died off screen while I was scrambling to find it 😅. Also I should point out the game never gave me a quest marker in my first playthrough, no idea if it was patched, but I hope so. It was pretty depressing never getting to see it with my own eyes. And apparently if you're not close to that event fight the cutscenes for it don't show
Sure would love to know what happened with DD2. The drop off in Everything is so noticeable once you cross the border, something must have gone down at a key point in development. Games usually get rushed in the last third or so, but DD2 barely has a second or third act.
Honestly the most addictive game since Witcher 3 for me...the pawn system, climbing enemies and endless options of gameplay style added to the ease of switching vocations (thief, magick archer, and spear dude are my fav) Make for one unique game! 10/10 for me ❤
It's my 2nd favourite game of the year for good reason. It's a flawed gem. The gameplay is fantastic but the story and RPG mechanics are quite limited. But I see the vision, and I really enjoyed this game. It's a shame the director left as I thought DD2 was a fantastic piece of future groundwork for a sequel. All the sequel needs, is more enemy variety and every system outside of combat to be expanded. The combat, is fantastic but everything else is lacking. If they can keep the combat the same, with a few improvements and put most of the work into the story and RPG mechanics (such as the beloved system, roleplaying, dynamic questlines, etc.) then they could make one of the greatest and unique RPGs ever made. One thing I think that would REALLY fit DD2, is life simulation mechanics. The game has very light Fable-esque mechanics such as romance, ability to buy your own house, etc.. If they fully expand these systems like opening your own store, an expanded romance system and roleplaying stuff like hanging out with friends for an evening in the tavern or quests that fully react to your choices (like Baldur's Gate 3), they could make a truly unique and unforgettable game. It all depends on if the team can manage it, they have enough time, budget and manpower, as well as good direction and leadership. But that's my vision for what a sequel should be, I'm sure many others disagree with me lol
The mechanics of the first was pleasant and I held off not only because of bad reviews, but I was hoping to see a bit more investment into the story and acting versus the first title. The amount of jank and lack of care for the story, for a sequel with over ten years of anticipation, felt inexcusable to me. For Capcom to half ass something with a hell of an amount of material completely turned me off. But I do think about trying this still. Just can't defend the current cost for something like this. Though I suspect the gameplay feels good.
Oh wow, I actually have never seen that your pawn can take control of the gigantus and defeats the two bosses on volcanic island, that was cool. I’ve done multiple play throughs 😆
This was a whole epic, as someone who played the first game & curious about the second this really helped. I’ve heard & seen so many videos about this game solely in bad faith, it’s refreshing to see a positive take. I hope you keep this format.
Agreed. Tragic how so few people “got it.” However, Capcom was really just handing out reasons to be upset haha. And as someone who was there for DD1s release, i gotta say Capcom was on some ish even worse back then. But regardless I love both games. Took until DDDA to actually like the “first” one. But still.
Thing about this game is, it’s good. I wouldn’t say great or terrible, just good. After a while the gameplay kind of drops until the very end of the game, iykyk. The action is fun but still missing some things, as well as means of traveling. Running everywhere tends to get a bit tedious, with having a stamina meter that doesn’t make sense. Wish they had more of the endgame material closer to the climax of the game, at the end I was more so glad just to finish the game and get it off my list.
As a long time fan of the first game with over 1000 hours, I liked this game but I felt like capcom could of let it cook a little bit more tbh. It felt a little floaty at times, but combat felt great. Character customization is amazing and I love the pawns this time around. Here's hoping Capcom might revive DDO
This game had SO MUCH potential. It did so many things right and I honestly enjoyed it quite a bit (2 playthroughs). Honestly, just allowing more skills to be assigned and having more variety of monsters would’ve elevated this game from like 8-9 to a solid 10.
This game would have been perfect with some dark arisen style island being baked into it. It would make it feel like a full sequel. Also maybe some more depth to the quest system

Dude u left me wanting to play it again!!! So cool the video by tw!!!!
I jumped back to DD2 after your video. And I have so much fun right now. There are some issues here and there, but the casual mode with no dragonsplague consequences and ferrystones being only 1k gold made everything so much more enjoyable.
At this point I genuinely hope for a DLC.
Loved this game more than the first game, even platinumed it within the week it was released
WYDROB FOR THE INTRO!??!? This is about to be peak
Espectacular men, hacia la mitad del video ya le agarre cariño a Leo, increible el final tambien. Sin palabras.
I’m surprised you never mentioned The Dullahan and the Sphinx. Please tell me you found them?!
Dullahans are rare before a certain event I will not spoil. One spawns for a quest but all the others do not have hard locked spawn locations. Missing the Sphinx is a sin tho.
great job buddy it's nice to see great videos of DD2 it has grown warn on people after lunch after the fixes :3
Damn, have my crying at the end there. Great video
On my Third playthrough so far (155 hrs) .. its become one of my favorite games this year flaws and all.. 🔥 🎮
This was amazing It was like watching a movie I was invested! Long live Leo shell he never be forgotten!!
I’m glad I had a flawless first playthrough on launch. Love Dragons Dogma ll. It made me finally get the courage to play Elden Ring and platinum it.
Ok but why did you activate like a frilled lizard at 27:02 tho
Bro..I’m Brazilian and this video shows to me…make me tears of laughing LOL
Great and funny video….
enjoying so much this game!
I love this game so much, played it literally the second it dropped after preordering and after 500 hours I’ve completed it 10 times and got the platinum, I understand why people didn’t like it but I stuck with it even when I had people telling me I should drop it, definitely my favourite game I’ve ever played and I will continue to play it even when other games try to tempt me
Edit: the peaceful solution to get the queen to agree with sven was to carry her to his room, I think he also needed to have bought the green box but I’m not sure, he’s always had it when I’ve done it 😅
The end got me crying 🥹
Props on your edetingskills bro
This game was great, can’t wait for dlc
THAT MADE ME DEPRESSED GAAAGHHH, I loved this video. RIP Leo
i remember seeing some vids criticizing how amazing it was but felt ruined by clunkyness. great to know that they got to polish it quite a bit.
amazing storytelling btw. 10/10 will wishlist the game thank to you
traveling the world is where I hit a wall with this game, I need to give it another shot. just seemed like instant death leaving any main area
Really? As long as you don’t go into the desert at low level then there really is no super strong enemies. Atleast in my experience
Loved this game. I really did not play it right however. Im like level 60 and have done three of the main quests. Its just so much fun running around fighting monsters i get distracted.
the cult of the lamb music goes so good with this game
That was absolute cinema man i loved the vid lol
Now you should try the game with Mods. That basically create a HARD MODE!! Randomizes enemy placement, raises enemy HP and def and power! You have umoored enemies roaming the regular world, including the bosses!
Cant wait for the next adventure with LEO!!!
Underrated like the first one, favorite game of all time for me, never gotten so lost in the exploration aspect of a game before, definitely needs the dark arisen treatment.
you gotta play more games if this is your fav game of all time
I agree, the game was such a disappointment, can't believe I paid for it@aloon98
Imagine being so offended by someone choice of favorite game. Until you can tell me another RPG like it, I’ll keep playing dogma
@@venomshakeXV Lol seriously... what a weird comment to say about someone enjoying a game lol
Except there's nothing to actually find from the exploration.
Waiting for Dark Arisen 2 to come out. Back when original Dragon's Dogma released, it was very messy and they mostly fixed it with Dark Arisen. Quietly hoping for them to do it again, but we'll see.
Level 187 Warfarer. On my 9th playthrough. I love this game. Mage pawn Jason.😘🇬🇧
good taste pam
The best game of 2024. Us gamers.
Just picked it up on PS5, stoked
Yk whats crazy lol isnt this the exact same way the 1st game was received ?
yh but that was during a time when people were alot more forgiving, as publishers/devs dropped the fucking ball wasnt the norm yet
Now i really wanna play this game! Also could you continue making videos please? Thank you
It’s crazy that I replayed this game two weeks ago and I think I actually used your pawn for a little while
Dragon's Dogma 2 was the first fantasy rpg game I played and now it's my favorite game of all time
Play the first one
Glad it seems like people are their time with their game now that it runs acceptably. The game has plenty of issues, but I came out of my playthrough still leaning positive. With how it apparently sold a bunch, I'm hoping they eventually drop an expansion similar to Dark Arisen to address criticisms people had in comparison to the previous game.
this is the thing that people keep missing about Dragon's Dogma 2.
they say there is no roleplaying in this, but there is more than plenty actually.
Welp time for another playthrough after watching this vid
Haven't played the game since it launched. My Steam Recap has it at 16% of my playtime. Very tempted to jump back into it.
That was fucking awesome I loved every bit of this good fucking shit dude wow. Super bad ass! Leo was kicking ass too!
Never thought of killing the queen but I loved the sons reaction😂😂
on my 1st playthrough I deleted the last boss as a mystic archer in 0.5 seconds with it's ultimate ability to sacrifice ur health into a shot :D and moreover that, for some reason the drake stole the blacksmith's wife ( those who gives u a mystic archer class )LOL
What is the song that plays during that final dragon scene? For the life of me i cant figure it out or find it.
That Mystic Spear shield is game breaking.
I love this game I really hope they add a dlc with a snowy area
What a video man ! I'm getting back on it
DD2 is my GOTY this year. But I do need to say that it will be so much better with some good mods like true warfarer and alternative skill swapper
Honestly the most addictive game since Witcher 3 for me...the pawn system, climbing enemies and endless options of gameplay style added to the ease of switching vocations (thief, magick archer, and spear dude are my fav) Make for one unique game! 10/10 for me ❤
I love it I played at launch on ps5
cult of the lamb back ground music? subed right away
But that's my vision for what a sequel should be, I'm sure many others disagree with me lol
thank you, I am now going to replay this game
The mechanics of the first was pleasant and I held off not only because of bad reviews, but I was hoping to see a bit more investment into the story and acting versus the first title. The amount of jank and lack of care for the story, for a sequel with over ten years of anticipation, felt inexcusable to me. For Capcom to half ass something with a hell of an amount of material completely turned me off.
But I do think about trying this still. Just can't defend the current cost for something like this. Though I suspect the gameplay feels good.
Shit get repetitive quickly, you're fighting the same mob the entire game
@@XmarcX92 you dont have others things to do than insult DD2? lol get a job
But still.
So much comraderie with Leo to get a low affinity ending 😂
Thing about this game is, it’s good. I wouldn’t say great or terrible, just good. After a while the gameplay kind of drops until the very end of the game, iykyk. The action is fun but still missing some things, as well as means of traveling. Running everywhere tends to get a bit tedious, with having a stamina meter that doesn’t make sense. Wish they had more of the endgame material closer to the climax of the game, at the end I was more so glad just to finish the game and get it off my list.
1:11 well, about snacks, I'm about to eat some pork teriyaki with some fried rice.
A BBI expansion would be dope
After installing the disc on PS5, how much gigabytes is the patch size? If anyone knows, I'd really appreciate it.
It tells ya 10 GB when ya install the game lol
@matthewblankenship7968 Ah, gotcha, thought it'd be bigger. Thanks!
Is ist worth Finaly on ps5 ?
I needed only 2 pawn badges to complete my pawn. I might redownload it so I can see it again. I feel bad for leaving
This game had SO MUCH potential. It did so many things right and I honestly enjoyed it quite a bit (2 playthroughs). Honestly, just allowing more skills to be assigned and having more variety of monsters would’ve elevated this game from like 8-9 to a solid 10.
I finished it yesterday... and now wanna play it again 😂
This game would have been perfect with some dark arisen style island being baked into it. It would make it feel like a full sequel. Also maybe some more depth to the quest system
