There a re a few ways, and none are wrong. You could do Strider to Lv 10 or 15, then Warrior to Lv20 or 30, then Assassin to Lv 30 or 40, and then Ranger. With this route you can get Warrior's augment Clout, and Assassin's augment Autonomy or Bloodlust. or you could do Strider to LV10, get the augments Clout (Warrior) and Acuity (Sorcerer) and then go Ranger for the rest. Ranger gets the highest Stamina growth per level, and Assassin gets the highest strength stat per level. Ranger gets fair strength and magic stats per level, so if you like playing Ranger, then just be Ranger. But, get some augments from the other vocations, because those matter more than the stat gains. Here is my 100% Ranger run. Here I did Strider to LV10 and then Ranger. With no augments and no stats from the other vocations. So 100% Ranger. ruclips.net/video/chIsodHi3UI/видео.html&t and here is the stat planner. I have a question that I'm sure you've answered a million times - In your schematics videos you mention ''usual boosting augments'' in the augment section of the videos. Are these augments that you typically want for every vocation? I'm currently playing Ranger and trying to get some good augments going. :)
interesting...didn't know trajectory wasn't really worth using, seems like 10fold, spiral and deathly arrow is a decent skill load for longbow. That crippling arrow trick is really nice, but I have a feeling I won't be able to pull off the combo very often since aiming can be tricky to get a hang of. Then again....switching arrows is kind of a pain, so maybe 10fold, deathly and crippling instead of spiral?
I tend towards strip-looting and being somewhat of a hoarder, so I always have sinew equipped, having a streamlined character and inventory can be nice though
Ive noticed for deathly arrow/ reapers arrow if you dont release it at the time it fullly charged you will do significantly less damage. Can you confirm this please nil?
Yes Sir actually that rusted long bow and Chilling razors are my favorite items, . . . And I dont care if Im weak well Ranger is the most boring for other gamers, but this is the class that should never be touched by enemies cuz they delete enemies from a far, . . .
Saying that he get's no new core skills is a lie. He does get the core skill that makes him fire faster with the long bow. I know there is a short bow equivalent so this is maybe why you didn't mention it, since it's pretty much the same, but nonetheless, it is a different core skill.
I could. I just feel like it's me stating my opinion. And my opinion may not work well for everyone. I do use my preferred skills when I do runs, like in the 100% runs. I don't like overpowered weapons much, or at least when I have all of the stat boosting augments. I wear armor based on the looks, and don't care about the stats they provide. The Level3 BBI armor has the best stats and has the best debilitation resistances. But, again I don't like to be overpowered. With 100% resistance to so many debilitations, then there is no risk. I can carelessly and recklessly go about and get hit 100 times and never become Blind or Petrified or Cursed. I could do a "Best of" or "my favorite" skills video and have a collage of them. I will roll it around in my head and see if anything comes to mind. For weapons and gear, really what is considered the best, is the best the game has to offer. All of the top Level3 BBI weapons and armor provide the highest damage. I like how the Kunai daggers look. I like Iraklis for Warrior, because it has it's unique pro and con. The Hatchet for Fighter is stressful, because it can leave you with no stamina in a bad situation. You see the pattern? I don't like the usual stuff that everyone would strive for, because it has high damage. I go for the weapons that create a little mini game with it's unique abilities. Don't take this as a shutdown. I am always open to ideas and suggestions. So, if you have anything else to add, please let me know. Maybe I am missing something in my synopsis when I think of videos like these.
+Nihil0.0 - I'd like to see your preferred builds, too, if we're taking votes. :-) When you're mulling over topics for other videos, some "here's what you should know but they don't tell you" videos would be helpful. You seem to know a LOT of information that's not even on the wiki, like the "Rangers work best at mid range" or the "500 pyre saurians kill count" (and thanks again for helping me with that). Maybe an "Arisen's Wisdom" series or something. Just something for the suggestion box. Thanks again!
Heya. I just watched the latest video and saw the ranger was sitting very close to 5k stamina. I have a toon I moved from strider to ranger around lvl 60. My question is will I ever hit that 5k mark at this point or would rerolling and going ranger 190lvls be the only way? Are there gear items that boost stamina like some boost strength?
Strider to lv10, Ranger to lv100 and then any yellow to lv200 will get the 4965 stamina (highest possible) but the Savior ring has 500 stamina, and some cloaks, and then augments can boost 100.
So if I wanted to use dragons gaze, just because it's an enchanted longbow. Would you recommend leveling mage and sorcerer first for more magic damage and protection? Or what path and augment would you recommend? Just like the idea of using an enchanted bow for a ranger! Thanks all
Enchanted weapons do not consider your innate magic attack number. They only consider their weapon number and augments, such as Acuity. This video below explains it all. ruclips.net/video/ttpAtgT-Lkk/видео.html
It does matter. If you use it on a standing Poisoned Undead vs a leaning Poisoned Undead after he vomits (and his head tilted down) you will land more hits while he is leaning. And the same for a longer entry of the body for Dragon, or laying down Cyclops
Wow, I never would have thought of this. I plan on using this skill, because I’ve never done much with special arrows before. Some of the effects so far are unexpected, like how bigger goblins seem distracted and slower when poisoned.
Does the character's stats make a lot of difference? I wanted to play with magick archer without having to climb levels with socerer. I want to play with magick archer from the beginning of the game. Will I have a hard time killing enemies on bitterblack island with the few magic attack points the magick archer has?
No worries Bruno, I can understand. Our stats mean nothing. Absolutely nothing. The weapons provide us with 50% of our danage. The augments about 25% our stats are less than 25% of our total output. Also the Magic Archer skill Magic Rebalancer adds 20% boost to magic attack. This skill can be used 4 times, basically double damage for 1 minute. Also this video below I show a 190 leveled Sorcerer vs a 190 leveled Magic Archer with same weapons and same augments. ruclips.net/video/Pj5u3F-FSeA/видео.html
DD is a great game but I have a few gripes, the lack of ability synergy for one. You cannot main a weapon type if two are available in a vocation and you can only have 3 abilities at once. Now anyone who’s played knows that a lot of encounters you have require a specific style / element to fight and a lot of the time you aren’t at a disadvantage your straight out unable to do anything. Now saying that, if you do manage to find those 3 abilities that you like and work well then the combat becomes meat and potatoes, the same bland rotation over and over and over because it’s the only thing that works. And half the abilities are completely situational and if you want to prepare for a fight you have to walk alllllllll the way to grand Soren to switch them. The exploration is fun but the combat wasn’t well thought out in my opinion and it’s just that an opinion.
Also you don't need crippling arrow to kill a downed elder ogre. One deathly shot to the face with a half decent bow if it sleeps will do unless you have some asshole pawns that wake it up. Spiral arrow is much more useful to have to apply sleep in the first place and to also get rid of garms with 2 petrify arrows.
Hey people.. I am new in this game and love it. I am playing ranger but I don't know where should I farm equip. I am lvl 43 und in the mid game. It looks like I sucks at doing lots of damage 😔
@@blakedanoob3144yeah I beat the bitterblack isle for the second time 😁 I had hard times at the beginning cause the enemies had many physical defense. I understand that ranger seems to be a fan favorite but to me it just seems so underwhelming. It's "Strength" is it's longbow which do indeed deal more damage than short bows BUT force you to move, aim, and fire more slowly and their skills? I feel like they require WAY to much stamina than what they are worth, I mean, almost every ranger skill is something that Striders and Assassins have and although their skills are weaker versions of the ranger's theirs require far less stamina so it feels like quantity wins out over quantity and, of course, it's just more fun being able to use skills more often. You can also just make a 'Sniper' out of Assassin with Lyncean Shot (Less zoom with less stamina required) and being able pull up your short bow and fire arrows faster seems to out dps a Ranger's longbows (definitely the case while using wind/gale harness). Fun fact! Striders have an innate speed bonus while climbing monsters as well as slower stamina drain while Assassins are harder to be knocked off and Rangers? Well... nothing... Because their intended to be more of a 'ranged' class. Just my 2 cents on Ranger but I do understand the role-playing aspect... Legolas or Robin Hood lol.
If the ranger didn't have instant reset available as well as a solid if not basic dagger pool, they'd be a lot less viable. They're high risk/high reward, but still nimble enough to hold their own in close quarters. Much of this game relies on a bit of strategy in picking your spots; especially with a blue vocation.
@@KaiKrimson56 it'd be overpowered. I've found that the basic dagger skill set along with dodge roll are more than sufficient if you know how to use them. They're big strength is from mid to long range, but they're decent enough in close quarters.
Thanks Lyndon. I am not positive, but Farseeer's cap, Leather Jacket, Fine over the knee boots, Chainmail shirt, and Schalor's cape. I am a victim of Fasion Dogma. I take defense loss to look good.
I don't recall, but not much Assassin, it was mostly Ranger. Your stats don't matter too much, it's the weapons that provide the real damage. This was a gold rarified Reinforced Longbow
o yes my fav class. fighter from 1-10. then assassin from 11-200 the damage is broken and then ranger with blast arrows will down right take any boss/elite down in less then few sec.
@@Nihil0.0 Yeap. I noticed. But.. when fighting 12 snow harpies. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the knowledge you share but starting from scratch with upgraded equipment is well lets say.. lol
Snow Harpies aren't too bad. Get the Scalding Razors and land jump light attack. This will instantly catch their wings on fire, and they will be sitting ducks for a good 10 seconds. Ummmm, I am not sure about the platforms, if any share
Fighter, no question. They can block damn near anything with the proper setup, stamina free, and can dish out some impressive damage as well. I'd say fighter is one of the top vocations in the game in the right hands, and that's saying something considering it's a 'basic' vocation. It's incomparable when it comes to defense, and a pack of fighters doing nothing but dragon's maws while perfect blocking everything that even sneezes at them is a sight to behold. Not quite related, but I want to ask the author his opinion of the pioneer inclination. I'm personally a huge fan of pioneer/utilitarian for practically any vocation, but it's best used by pawns with high overall knowledge. They act more independently and don't feel the need to periodically check in with the arisen. It really makes for some remarkable results.
I deleted them. I have OCD and they were old, and they had the jump mod with them, which I regret ever having enabled (not proud of that) I deleted them when I uploaded the "debilitate 'em" video. I do have plans to do them again though. The high strength Rusted Magic Archer. And a Rusted Assassin. Maybe a Rusted Ranger... Hell, maybe all 9 vocations as Rusted. Not sure how Mystic Knight would do with that one though.
Hitt, it's been awhile since I've done a Dags only run. I do miss it. Magic Archer with Immolation and Shadowshackle. Or Assassin with Masterful or Escape. Strider with Implicate or Splitter. Even a Sword only run. I guess I have a list of future projects. Good fun though.
Our Magic stat does matter upto around 300, for Enchanted weapons when considering Ghosts. Beyond the 350 range it does not matter, but there is a difference between 250 and 350 when attacking a Ghost with Enchanted weapons
@@Nihil0.0 i thought it did matter only for weapon buffs not for enchanted weapon itself. i mean if i have like scalding razors (example 150 phys and 150 spell damage), if i have 300 magick or 250, does the magik damage changes? because if not, if i am not a mystic knight or a mage/sorcerer/magic archer, where is the point for me in levelling up my magic stat?
The only reason, the only time it matters on a pure red or pure yellow vocation, is when fighting a ghost, like wraith, spectre, phantom. But only to about 350 innate magic, anything more is not applied. But for any other enemy the innate magic is not applied. When a pawn buffs us with an element their magic stat is applied. I am not sure if our innate mag is applied with a pawn's buff though. Never tested it.
@@Nihil0.0 that 350 value gives the same results if i have 250ish and i put a +100 magic ring? because if i can do that it's probably the best thing you can do in general. (i know these are probably stupid question but i like a lot minmaxing, i don't know why xD)
The rings are like augments, so they do go beyond. If your dagger is 250 mag, it is now 350 and applies. Rings, armor and augments will increase magic damage for enchanted weapons.

best vocation
Ranger is a beast :)
Strongest class the game you can change it whenever you like just need 500 blast arrows and every thing can solve every easy
What would be an optimal build for a Ranger in your opinion? Like, level progression and the like.
There a re a few ways, and none are wrong. You could do
Strider to Lv 10 or 15, then Warrior to Lv20 or 30, then Assassin to Lv 30 or 40, and then Ranger. With this route you can get Warrior's augment Clout, and Assassin's augment Autonomy or Bloodlust.
or you could do
Strider to LV10, get the augments Clout (Warrior) and Acuity (Sorcerer) and then go Ranger for the rest.

@@Nihil0.0 I know this is 4 years late but what happened to the 100% Ranger run? I absolutely love your MK and MA 100% runs and have been itching to find a 100% Ranger or Fighter run. The video in the link is unavailable.
Love your videos Nihil. Happy 2023.

@@Nihil0.0 I see, looking forward to another one then! I'm watching all your videos!
dude such a helpful video
Awesome Igor. Thanks for your praise. I tried very hard on these schematics videos.
I have a question that I'm sure you've answered a million times - In your schematics videos you mention ''usual boosting augments'' in the augment section of the videos. Are these augments that you typically want for every vocation? I'm currently playing Ranger and trying to get some good augments going. :)
The stat boosting augments are essential. Autonomy, Clout, Acuity.
Ranger does well with grit, stability, morbidity, damping
@@Nihil0.0 autonomy? Even if I'm always with pawns?
no no, just giving examples of the boosters. Autonomy is a must have if solo
@@Nihil0.0 oh I see. Thank you so much for the answers! I'm really enjoying the game. :)
10fold is literally a shotgun. Rip and Tear.
interesting...didn't know trajectory wasn't really worth using, seems like 10fold, spiral and deathly arrow is a decent skill load for longbow. That crippling arrow trick is really nice, but I have a feeling I won't be able to pull off the combo very often since aiming can be tricky to get a hang of. Then again....switching arrows is kind of a pain, so maybe 10fold, deathly and crippling instead of spiral?
I agree, I don't like going into inventory, in fact I don't like to carry extra inventory.
Yep, that's the trick. It's a timed skill. Release at the flash
@@Nihil0.0 I released when the bar is full, is that a mistake?
@@primuladanderfluff7881 Right when it fills completely is the timing. Or the flash. The flash is easier to notice
I would really appreciate if you made an ultimate setup for each class showing your favourite weapons armour and skills
@@Nihil0.0 Thanks. I guess I should ask this then I'll move on. Is 5k a must for a ranger? I know from your vids the gamble is based off stamina.
Not a must, but Ranger uses a lot of stamina. For me, stamina is most important, but 4k will be alright as well.
@@Nihil0.0 Thx
Make dragons dogma all monster sound like Griffin and chimera please...
The armer set Looks nice for Ranger can you tell me what you use every Single Pierce.
I am not positive, but Farseeer's cap, Leather Jacket, Fine over the knee boots, Chainmail shirt, and Schalor's cape.
Is spiral arrow more effective on longer/larger monsters like ogre or dragons? Or is it a certain number of hits every time
It does matter.
Sorry for my bad English, I do not speak English and I'm using Google Translate :(
No worries Bruno, I can understand.

*Laughs in posh British accent*
Seems like dazzle no longer applies status ticks from your weapon to enemies.
@@blakedanoob3144yeah I beat the bitterblack isle for the second time 😁
I had hard times at the beginning cause the enemies had many physical defense. But after getting the lvl2 weapon it was much better.
I was with lvl 70 in bitterblack.
But I had the feeling that my magic pawns made so much more dmg in the main game Story and in bitterblack
ranger r fun to use head shot will knock them down or stager the enemy i almost killed a dragon with ranger n i was even low lvl at the time.
Yep, Ranger is a fun one. When you can land that headshot just in time, that's a nice feeling.
Honestly, I wish Helm Splitter carried over from Strider into Ranger, then the class would be perfect.
@@KaiKrimson56 it'd be overpowered. I've found that the basic dagger skill set along with dodge roll are more than sufficient if you know how to use them. They're big strength is from mid to long range, but they're decent enough in close quarters.
What is your ranger wearing there? Your fashion dogma game is strong man 😩
Thanks Lyndon. I am not positive, but Farseeer's cap, Leather Jacket, Fine over the knee boots, Chainmail shirt, and Schalor's cape.
I am a victim of Fasion Dogma. I take defense loss to look good.
How strong you are!!
Do you grow this character by asasin?
I don't recall, but not much Assassin, it was mostly Ranger. Your stats don't matter too much, it's the weapons that provide the real damage. This was a gold rarified Reinforced Longbow
what is your armor? i can only discern the farseer's cap
What music is this?
o yes my fav class. fighter from 1-10. then assassin from 11-200 the damage is broken and then ranger with blast arrows will down right take any boss/elite down in less then few sec.
Ranger is super fun. A deadly vocation.
Lvl 20 ranger on hard is kinda.. well..ouch
Ranger is a stamina heavy vocation, so when you are low level, you do notice it. But the single shot arrow is pretty viable, with high knockback
@@Nihil0.0 Yeap. I noticed. But.. when fighting 12 snow harpies.
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the knowledge you share but starting from scratch with upgraded equipment is well lets say.. lol
Ate xbox and PC seperate platforms in capcom?
Snow Harpies aren't too bad. Get the Scalding Razors and land jump light attack. This will instantly catch their wings on fire, and they will be sitting ducks for a good 10 seconds.
Ummmm, I am not sure about the platforms, if any share
I'm going to really get into dragons dogma once it comes out on switch and I want to main ranger. What's the best pawn to make to compliment a ranger?
I would say Fighter pawn. You stay distance, and Fighter gains aggro to keep them away from you
@@Nihil0.0 Awesome! Thank you! Can't wait to finally get into DD on switch ^__^ any beginner tips for the early game?
I love pioneer, especially for Ranger and Strider. If I am Sorcerer and pawn is Fighter I like Pioneer, but if I am also Fighter, then guardian.
Why didn't you use deathly arrow?
how big is your character's head? I have the impression that in my char the helmet was huge and its looks the ideal size
The second from the smallest is usually my head size, at least when I go with 69kg build.
@@Nihil0.0 thanks
How did you nesrly take an elder ogre out with one shot?? Does sleeper arrow really add THAT big of a damage boost? I had no idea!

I did delete some of my older videos. I am in the process of updating and recreating them, with new knowledge and tactics. It was time to retire them.
What happened to the rusted weapon bbi runs? Did they get taken down?
I deleted them. I have OCD and they were old, and they had the jump mod with them, which I regret ever having enabled (not proud of that)
I deleted them when I uploaded the "debilitate 'em" video.
I do have plans to do them again though. The high strength Rusted Magic Archer. And a Rusted Assassin. Maybe a Rusted Ranger... Hell, maybe all 9 vocations as Rusted. Not sure how Mystic Knight would do with that one though.
Whack a Great Cannon with a rusted sword?
Yeah, a Rusted only Mystic Knight sounds frightening.

Good fun though.
dude, why you should level up magic if you go solo?
