  • with a nice little ride out to a new DAF horse box conversion, which has VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL (or VSC) fault and a brake system truck malfunction.
with me identifying the issue early on which was the Angle sensor reading, I was able to identify it through testing with JALTEST and with some adjustments to the steering, we soon got things sorted for the customer and the truck back to how it should be.

Thankyou for all your work and the bit at the beginning was really nice to learn about your family history in the bodybuilding industry. You are so methodical and concise. word for word I think you convey more information than any other channel on the internet . They all take 10 times longer just on the un necessary intros. I've been using Texa but I'm getting sick of its useless English translations which have caused me to make mistakes and they don't help with training. In technical fields words mean things and must be precise. Their wording is definitely not checked by an English Technician group

Hi thank you for the reply and the kind comment.
I was worried about the beginning 😕 it's not my usual straight to the point video with faults but then this has been a new chapter in my life and I've tried to include a "bit of me" in the videos now I don't have people looking down at what I do 👀
I know what mean about intros and i will try to them to a minimum but I think of the videos as stories with as much technical information as possible....which I'm glad you enjoy 😉
Texa had its chance in my eyes and let me down. If your texa is getting old it can be part exchanged towards jaltest believe it or not!
One thing eclipse do well is offer training and classes on the product which from a support point of veiw really helps people who struggle 😎

Hi Russell I have been watching your videos for a while now and appreciate your method of work.
I am a tech too on HGV’s again for a main dealer after 20 years as a field service tech on heavy plant, 100 ton dumpers ect.
I agree with how you work I hate the carpet bombing fitting effect.
As a tech called Dan Sullivan says a mechanical fault is easy to find but expensive to repair, A electrical fault is hard to find but easy to fix most of the time. And that to me is true.
A proper tech takes there time to diagnose and tries there upmost to eliminate boomerang 🪃 jobs. Like your good self.
I wish you all the best in your new venture and keep up the good work with the videos.

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  Год назад

Hey Simon thank you for the comment 😎.
How have you found moving into a main dealer from working on plant?
Parts cannon is not good for anyone customer or technician as you don't learn anything as a tech and the customer has a massive bill 😰
I know of Dan sullivan, I replicated his load pro design to see how it works 😂.....abit like snap on did......anyway his fundamental teaching is sound even if its 10 years old now.
I don't know why people wouldn't want to take the time to diagnose things 😕......to fix a system you must first understand it. I hate nothing more than having a job come back on me which is why you need to be methodical.
I will try and keep the videos coming but this week has been all work and no editing BUT I do have loads of footage 😅

      Hello Russell
      Thank you for your reply.
I left Scania 20 years ago and now I am back feels as though nothing has really changed a lot.
I have enjoyed the heavy plant and been fortunate to work on different things. I wouldn’t normally.
I have gone back to trucks as most of the plant work is in recycling centres and in the lovely British monsoon season 🤣.
I enjoyed hydraulic and electrical faults oh and the lovely Ad-Blue faults.
I like you enjoy the diagnostic/ fault finding part of the job.
I like your “gadgets” that make life and fault finding easier.
You are a clever gentleman and I wish you all the best.
As people like your self are few and far between.
We have a load of apprentices who are useless and not interested in the job.
Take care Russell and all the best

    Hello Russell,
I hope this message finds you well. I have a question regarding the MX13 DAF engine's camshaft. If the camshaft has suffered minor damage and we proceed with a valve clearance or valve adjustment, would this potentially exacerbate the camshaft's existing issues, or would it have no significant impact on the damage already done?
Your expertise in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your insights.

    • @TRUCKTECHUK
      @TRUCKTECHUK  Год назад

      Hi 👋.
If the camshaft is damaged especially in MX-13, I take it you're referring to the case hardening on the camshaft lobes?
You're just accelerating wear on that lobe now, and not only that you are running the risk of introducing more metal particles into the engine oil increasing wear.
I'd be looking to change the camshaft out AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
If it's not as the manufacturer intended. it's fit for purpose
