    we really need to make more content about CSP alternatives. they need to know that we're only using their product as long as its value is above the rest with a reasonable price, but once one of these things changes, we have good options to go to.
    competition is essential and without showing them we can quickly move to different software they'll become the new photoshop in a blink of an eye.
    also, it's good for content creators to make these videos for their publicity since this is the hot topic now in the art section of the internet, so please take this chance to completely go at them.
    and don't feel bad for the company, they're making enough money from CSP as it is and they're just a regular corporation, they don't have feelings and they bend to rules of supply and demand as any other business in history.

      It’s not even just that. The buy perpetual for one device, plus an update pass is obnoxious. Then they have the nerve to roll you back if you don’t keep the pass? So to keep up to date, they actually came up with two sub models. It’s unreal.

    If I'm honest I've been expecting a subscription model for a while but I did not expect the half asssed permanent license with an upgrade pass nonsense.

    • @CreateNowSleepLater

      My guess is, perpetual + Update pass will be overall more expensive than the sub and that is the point. What makes this greed is the introduction of the new version would have forced all the non-revenue generating user to renew. Kind of like any other annual software. The pass on top of it is just obnoxious.

    It feels like CELSYS wanted to make 1.0 obsolete and make 2.0 with a battle pass happen. I would've been annoyed if CSP tutorial videos with exclusive features under the paywall appeared. So bad that an offical Krita twitter account tweeted "Krita is and always will be free to download." Though I wish Krita would have vector improvements with pressure sensitivity so it can compete with CSP and SAI's vector tools.

      It’s a catch 22. Anything free is going to have finite resources. That’s why I’m not against paying. I get that they could not stay on a one time payment forever. The upgrade to 2.0 would have been a huge boost for them since many of us haven’t paid anything for years. This is an aggressive overcompensation.

      ... Krita is working on those more than likely. Krita also has gotten much more stable as of 5.0. The only time it crashes is mainly... Filter masks, but honestly... Krita has evolved so much from 2019 when I first used it due to being free, then I went to CSP, now went back to Krita due to the subscription BS.... Krita 5.0 is like CSP without vector layers and a no contest better digital painting experience. CSP has the edge in line art, Krita has a jack of all trades, but has mastered digital painting....
      The best brush set that pairs lovely if do use Krita. Kakurri's brushes if like CSP's tools than it's honestly not much difference... Also Krita has better REFERENCING TOOLS, no Clipboard referencing in CSP is kind of one of my biggest issues or,,, CSP's lack luster perspective easy to use tools... Line art is where CSP shines and Krita fails, but the reverse shows.... Krita is best with Woifthera's ink brushes + Kakurri's brushes ( for everything + the blenders ).
      I'm okay if it was a FEE for updates that we KEEP, but this was a power grab.

    I think what's really frustrating about this is when you look at the math, the pro version monthly for a single device is more expensive (if you account for a 5% sales tax) then the current one-time purchase of pro for two. Yes its only roughly an increase of $4. But that's only for one year. That's not counting for all the years after. So essentially your paying MORE in one year for this version of the new set... For the base version of the program with the further caveat that you loose the option of having an additional device. Idk if I'm getting stuck on the wrong point of this subject. But all around this just feels like a stab in the back

Plus let me give you a secret 😈😈😈go here mblab.dev/ download Blender and this addon and you will be able to create your own 3d assets without need to learn 3d modeling 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 this FREE addon for Blender that is also FREE TOTALLY KILLS Clip Studio Paint biggest feature, just watch the video tutorial in youtube in less than an hour you will be more than fine creating your own FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE 3D assets then you just pose them (pose in Blender is easier and much better than being fighting with the damn useless gyzmos in CSP) find your preferred camera angle press F11 and export the render with transparent background import them into KRITA and finish your illustrations 😸 AND IS EVEN BETTER than CSP 3d models because this addon allows you to FULLY customize EVERY SINGLE PART of your character not only the body shape, also allows you to pick different ethnicities, anime characters and even fantasy characters like Elves, then I have a tight schedule and I am not sure how long will take me create youtube tutorials on how to use the Blender+KRTA killer duo, but I will try, anyways give it a try and of course roll the ball and let the Krita gang knows about this addon for blender tell them to just search MB-LAB blender addon in youtube and you guys will be rolling 😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😼

It could be done in a way that it's a major discount to buying gold normally (10$ for 1000 gold isn't that great) but if you buy an update for 25$ and gained 10k gold then you would get gold at a 400% value while getting your update.

    Well said! I agree about the overpriced marketing of CSP on mobile devices. I have used the program on my computer for years and still love everything about it… When it was brought to iPad, I immediately saw the writing on the wall and felt like it was just another scam. I tried the free trial of the app and immediately saw the difference in robust and silky smooth program I came to know and love, so uninstalled it after a short time. It was not user error, I assure you. I use The full program on my HP ZBook x2 g4 along with HUION KAMVAS pro 22 and it runs like butter, with no additional charges of fees, and updates regularly unlike the app version which was built for desperate suckers, who don’t know when they’re being ripped off.

    Since there is some fear driving more people to buy subscriptions, and those who use them are not effected at all.
    And of course there is the group they don't care about, everyone who has a permanent lisence. Since they're not likely to pay after the one time purchase.
    There is the sub group of the above who ditches the program, whom they care of even less.
    And finally the unknowable group who would have bought it... but will probably now buy subscription. So a win there.

      Maybe an oversimplification, but understandable the way they have handled this. Either way, it's a very aggressive approach to revenue. Anti-consumer certainly applies. I understand companies need to make money, there is a fine line. They crossed it imo.

  • @KendrysDraws
    @KendrysDraws Год назад

    They can't really lose money IMO. I mean, people that bought any of current versions are now giving them $0 pretty much for every update.
    So if some people don't get the new versions it won't be a problem for them because those people weren't paying extra anyway.
    Also, I don't get why people are complaining or angry about this, you can do pretty much anything with the current versions, we are not losing anything.
    You can keep doing everything you've been doing

    • @CreateNowSleepLater
      @CreateNowSleepLater  Год назад +3

      I look at it differently. I understand they need to generate revenue if they want to grow. I am happy to pay for a 2.0 version. Perhaps some kind of upgrade discount, which is the standard way perpetual licensing has worked. That is sort of their problem though to figure out. The second point is sort of in between the promise of a one-time purchase and now you've had this slow drip of updates that they want you to pay for now. You're right, the current 1.x version will continue to work but only guaranteed to work until version 3.0. Remember Windows and Mac update all the time. Remember what Windows Ink did to Photoshop and Wacom devices? So without the bug fixes, you are one OS update away from not working. It also quite common for the app owners to fix stuff related to tablet tech independent of the OS> That is one of the things I do in my reviews. Essentially, I might encouter and issue with a app. Without those updates you might be hosed if the device mfg can't fix it.

    I have been using Clip Studio Paint for 10 years. I FULLY UNDERSTOOD the new announcements.... This is NOT necessary, and is just a perpetual money grab. An increase in perpetual license price IS necessary, I will not buy Clip Studio Paint 2.0 and I loved CSP v1. The problem is if I even buy the basic perpetual license, I have perpetuated this predatory bleed they are starting now! Here are SEVERAL reasons NOT to buy 2.0 until they relent. 1st Updated BETA TESTING is NOT interesting to me. 2nd Clip Studio 1 is completely fine for several more years, you don't really need to upgrade right away. 3rd, This company needs to feel pain to prevent them from screwing their customers. 4th, Their are PLENTY of alternatives. Here are just a few. COREL PAINTER is on sale for around 40$ on Humble Bundle around October... for at least the last two years I know of!!!!!!!!! THAT ONE ALONE... ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!!!!! I am signed up for notifications from them for reminders of this sale. Best thing about it, it is also for charity!!!! Krita is free and is also extremely awesome!!! Paintstorm studio is only 20$ and is getting better all the time I have completed several painting in both Krita and Paintstorm. Rebelle 5 is 89$ and has some of the most amazing paint textures and paint vs texture physics I have EVER seen. I especially love to see the water color paint bleed into the paper and nano pixel tech that works with multiple surfaces (wood, different kinds of paper, canvas etc) It feels most like traditional painting to me with the least effort to get that. Then Artrage Vitae, I I only have Artrage 6. I dont have Vitae, can't comment, but Artrage is no slouch, and is very impressive with its versatility and realistic traditional media feel. The trouble I have with most of the "realistic traditional" media software is brush "load". Switching that on the fly is such a pain in the ass, but completely necessary in tradition media. In reality you need to adjust how much you "load" a brush before painting. Doing that every dip with a slider is EXCRUCIATING!!!!! They all have load available, but whew it's just not worth it and REALLY interrupts flow to use it. I digress.... In short, You have way too many options to accept a subscription with just as great results, and in some cases better more natural results. Just don't do it. If we all wait a year (prolly less). They will change their dimwitted minds which will prevent all the rest from doing the same. If you absolutely have to have CSP 2.0.... AHOY MATEYS!!!!! Off to the bay (or some other torrent site) with ya! If you don't get that...... learn about torrents. Incidentally, ALL PROGRAMS used to have a LIFETIME purchase.... This subscription thing is new, it started with windows and has bled into all other software....... NOPE!!!!
